"After our flight to Colombo airport, we wanted to stay somewhere close to the airport so we could leave early to Sigiriya by private taxi. This hotel was absolutely perfect for that. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, and quite new. There is an elevator as well which is convenient. Price quality is extremely good for this hotel."

"The hotel is great. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's close to the airport and they picked us up by car there. The staff is wonderful and very attentive. We were able to have dinner there when we arrived, and since we were leaving early the next day, they prepared coffee and fruit for breakfast for us beforehand."

"DO NOT BOOK. I REPEAT, DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I was on a 2-day transit visa in Sri Lanka and, after exploring Colombo, decided to spend my night in Negombo before my flight. After looking through the photos and reviews, I chose Hotel J Negombo. That turned out to be a huge mistake. I booked a Standard Room and checked in around 2:30 PM. The only positive thing was that I got the room immediately. Everything else went downhill from there. The room was extremely compact, had no windows, and was filled with a strong mouldy smell that hit me the moment I opened the door. With no fresh air or ventilation, the room felt suffocating. The hospitality was equally disappointing. No one offered to show me the room, no one helped with my luggage, and they don't even provide complimentary bottled mineral water. Instead, they leave a jug filled from an RO water dispenser outside. There were no basic bathroom amenities—no toothbrush, no toothpaste, nothing. The room itself was in terrible condition: - The commode was broken. - The bathroom lights didn't work. - There wasn't even an exhaust fan—just a tiny hole in the wall for ventilation. - The blanket was so thin it barely served its purpose. - Mosquitoes made the stay even more uncomfortable. To be honest, the room felt creepy rather than welcoming. The most frustrating part is that this hotel isn't even cheap. It's priced similarly to much better hotels in the area, making it even harder to justify the poor quality. I had booked the room for one night, but I couldn't bear staying inside. I spent my evening sitting on the beach until around 11:30 PM, only returning to the hotel because I needed somewhere to sleep for a few hours before my flight. I woke up around 3:00 AM and left for the airport, even though my flight wasn't until 9:00 AM, simply because I couldn't wait to get out of that room. The checkout experience summed up the entire stay. There wasn't a single staff member at the reception. I handed my room key to the security guard and left. Please don't let the photos fool you. There are far better hotels in Negombo for the same price. Save your money, save your holiday, and stay somewhere else. 0/10. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. "We stayed at this lovely B&B for two nights after arriving from Chennai. It is within walking distance to restaurants and a 15 minute local bus ride to downtown Negombo. The breakfast served on the rooftop patio was tasty and fresh. The rooms have a sink, kettle and bar fridge. The balcony on the upper floor rooms is a nice bonus. A fifteen minute ride from the airport makes this B&B a great place to stay on your arrival to Sri Lanka."

"Location - Too far from the centre of Negombo to walk Service - Staff didn't really understand English so it usually took 4 or 5 of them to discuss a request and then not to do what was asked anyway (Very frustrating!) Bar - Non existent due to having lost their licence! Would have been good to be advised of this upon check-in Lift - Not working! Had to use service lifts which made the journey to our room very long and through not-so-nice areas of the hotel Beach - Not a nice beach area. Used by locals but not very good for tourists The Rooms were very stylish but the whole hotel gives the impression that it needs some TLC to bring it back to a good standard Several times we asked for issues to be brought to the attention of the Manager ... or the Duty Manager ... it never happened and nobody seemed to be running the place Avoid at all costs as you will be disappointed!"
