"This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. The convenience factor is off the charts, way beyond five stars! Right outside, there's an abundance of food and shops, truly bursting with local flavor. In the mornings, you'll see many people trading caterpillar fungus, often much cheaper than in stores. Evenings bring fresh vegetables and fruits, incredibly fresh, along with local snacks. You absolutely have to try the yogurt! Next door to the hotel is a very clean restaurant. The owner is super nice and will even give you extra noodles for your dish. Their pickled radish is especially delicious. The hotel owner is incredibly warm and welcoming. We booked a standard room, but he upgraded us to a family room – a really spacious one! He also told us about local customs and traditions, which was very kind. And there's a Labrador named Kara, she's absolutely adorable and very friendly!"

This Horse Year Spring Festival, our Xizang and Han staff will join guests on New Year's Eve to make dumplings and *Guthuk* (Xizang's noodle soup), celebrating the arrival of the new year and sharing the warmth of reunion. Lobumtsang · Sanctuary Nestled in Xingfu Community, Chengguan District, Lhasa, Lobumtsang offers expansive views of the nearby Potala Palace. Yet, the owner’s grandfather settled here with his family, living in peace and prosperity—a tale cherished by locals ever since. Our boutique homestay blends authentic Xizang's style with Nepalese influences, equipped with high-quality amenities and heartfelt service. Each room is designed for comfort in all seasons, featuring a television, refrigerator, in-room safe, oxygen concentrator, humidifier, and premium brand bathroom essentials. Our team includes Xizang, Han, and Nepalese members, offering a diverse menu of Xizang, Chinese, Nepalese, and Western cuisine. The viewing restaurant not only overlooks the Potala Palace but also serves as a window into local daily life. At Lobumtsang, we welcome you with the warmth of home and the sincerity of Xizang, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay in Lhasa.

"I booked this hotel for a three day stay and had an amazing time. The front desk staff and the third-floor restaurant team were incredibly kind, sweet, polite, and respectful. The food was not only super delicious but also reasonably priced. The bathroom and blankets in the room were all spotlessly clean. It’s absolutely worth a visit – I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Lhasa who’s struggling to pick a place to stay. You won’t regret booking here."

The St. Regis Lhasa Resort is located on Jiangsu Road, the main artery of Lhasa. It is approximately 3 kilometers away from the Potala Palace, with a cluster of gourmet restaurants in the surrounding vicinity. A 15-minute taxi ride will lead you to Norbulingka, a typical Xizang-style garden renowned for its unique charm on the snow-covered plateau. Additionally, a 20–30 minute drive from the hotel will take you to Sera Monastery or Drepung Monastery, commonly known as the "Three Great Monasteries of Lhasa", allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the solemnity and grandeur of Xizang Buddhist temples. The hotel boasts over 100 guest rooms, ranging from 61 to 178 square meters in size. "Here's a review of my stay: **Pros:** * **Fantastic Location:** Just a 10-minute walk to Jokhang Temple/Barkhor Street, and about 2 km from Potala Palace. It's tucked away in a quiet spot but still close to the action. * **Elegant ******* Design:** The lobby features a traditional ******* white stupa, red lacquer wood carvings, and white walls. The public areas have spacious gardens, and the rooftop bar offers direct views of Potala Palace at night – perfect for photos! * **Altitude Sickness Friendly:** Each room has an independent oxygen generator (which works really well!), a humidifier, and underfloor heating. There's also a 24-hour infirmary, making you feel completely secure regarding altitude sickness. * **Excellent Service:** Butler-style service. Upon check-in, we received a Hada scarf, yak butter tea, and welcome fruits/yak yogurt. The evening ceremony (******* knife champagne opening + bonfire + Guozhuang dance) was a truly special experience. * **Thoughtful Breakfast:** A semi-buffet with à la carte options, offering a great variety and consistent quality. They had ******* tsampa, cheese dregs, yak butter tea, alongside Western Eggs Benedict. **Cons (My Real Experience):** * **Noticeable Hardware Aging:** The hotel has been open for many years. The curtains were jammed/damaged, the rain shower had weak and erratic water flow, and the floors showed wear. Maintenance seems to be lacking. * **Inconsistent Service Details:** Turndown service was perfunctory. Amenities like body lotion were an extra charge. Some public areas and guest restrooms had hygiene blind spots (dust, water stains). * **Significant Price Fluctuations:** The room rate dropped considerably on the day of booking after I had already paid, which was a poor experience for members/repeat guests. There were also occasional tour groups, which reduced the sense of privacy. * **Inconvenient Public Area Layout:** Guest rooms are spread across different buildings, meaning long walks and tiring uphill climbs."

"Service: The lady at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. We had booked a twin room, but she proactively upgraded us to a family suite! The room was spacious and decorated with unique ethnic characteristics. Facilities: The facilities are comprehensive, even including a medical oxygen concentrator! They also provide nasal cannulas. Everything you could possibly need is available. Environment: Excellent, and the soundproofing is good! There's also a Nepalese restaurant on the top floor of the hotel that many locals frequent, and hotel guests even get a discount! The hotel's location is also superb; it's only about a ten-minute walk to Jokhang Temple (at a leisurely pace, typical for Lhasa) and very close to the bus stop. There's also a delicious cold noodle shop right next to the hotel downstairs! I would definitely choose this hotel again if I come back to Lhasa!"

"This hotel is located right next to the entrance of Barkhor Street and Jokhang Temple, close to shopping and transportation to other places in Lhasa, so the location is perfect. The service is the most impressive, my hotel room was facing the street and there was a loud speaker shouting all day and all night, I had to complaint to the hotel staff even though the speaker was not part of the hotel. They immediately negotiated with the the relevant people, and offered to switch my room to face away from the street. Also the hotel staff helped me to reserve the critical sites and train. I cannnot be more thankful for their help. The room was big and they cleaned every day, they did a good job cleaning the room. The onsite laundry facility was helpful too since I cannot affort to pay for laundry service. All in all, I am very happy with the stay, and will return again if I come back to Lhasa."

GGuest UserThe hotel facilities are excellent, and the service is incredibly warm and attentive. When we arrived, they proactively provided us with a personal oxygen concentrator. The front desk staff even carried a kettle of hot water and our luggage, accompanied us to our room, helped us set up the oxygen equipment and humidifier before leaving. We really felt a warm welcome. The hotel also offers a daily Mercedes-Benz shuttle service to the city center, which is very convenient. The restaurant on the first floor is great, offering a variety of coffee drinks and both Chinese and Western light meals, and the food tastes delicious. If there's a minor drawback, it's that it's a bit far from the main attractions (over 2 kilometers), so walking isn't very convenient. However, since the hotel provides a dedicated shuttle, this isn't really an issue. Plus, being a bit further from the core area makes it quieter.

HhohotimVery satisfied with everything, the best is the customer service, always answer all questions. Buy an oxygen tube for RMB 10/piece, and you can arrange an oxygen machine at the lobby bar to provide free oxygen. There were sanitary defects, cigarette butts were found, we don't smoke as a family, but it was acceptable, the sprinkler pipe leaked, and the water pressure increased after cleaning. Everything was cured by the warm customer service.

GGuest UserFeitu: I stayed in the hotel for 7 days and was very satisfied with three things. The first was the service of Xiaochen, a girl from Sichuan. She always gave you the best service anytime and anywhere. If you were short of oxygen, you could ask her. If you wanted to change to a more satisfactory room, you could ask her. If you wanted water, slippers, or a toothbrush, you could ask her. Anyway, she would meet all your needs and make you feel at home. Before leaving, I couldn't help but give her a lamb 🐑 plush toy. I hope she likes it 💕. The second thing is that the hotel is very clean and tidy. The bathroom and the bed are separated, and the view is great. I was in a sunny mood every day. The third thing is that the breakfast at the hotel is delicious. There are not many varieties, but it is enough to meet all needs, especially the spicy rice noodles. I have to eat a bowl every day. I will come again next time~

DDaoyiOut of all the hotels we stayed at during our 8-day, 7-night Tibet trip, the Shangri-La Lhasa was by far the best. Besides its beautiful Tibetan-style decor, what truly saved our trip was their medical room. We experienced severe altitude sickness on our second day. The hotel's medical room is staffed 24/7, and the experienced military doctor there provided us with treatment. Although the IV drip and oxygen were a bit pricey, the medicine worked wonders! The next day, all my altitude sickness symptoms – headache, weakness in limbs – were gone. We were able to smoothly continue our journey to higher altitudes like Mount Everest Base Camp. That medicine was truly miraculous!

XXiaoyuebanjianghuI rarely write reviews, but I feel I must write one this time. Gesanghua Hotel has a beautiful and kind proprietress. She is quite young, thoughtful, warm and patient. We just arrived in Lhasa and were not very familiar with the itinerary. Later, we consulted the proprietress to avoid falling into the trap. You can also ask the proprietress to help buy performance tickets and travel packages. There are many discounts after comparison. I am also very satisfied with the arranged room. It is square, clean, with a humidifier, oxygen concentrator, and air conditioner. Every morning, the bright sunshine will shine into the room, making the cool morning warm all of a sudden. Living in a sunny room makes my altitude sickness much better. The location of the hotel is also very good👍 It is convenient to go out for transportation. It takes a few minutes to walk to Jokhang City, Barkhor Street, and Jokhang Temple. It only takes 10 yuan to take Didi to the Potala Palace. Warm service, clean room, convenient transportation, we will definitely stay in Gesanghua again next time.

GGuest UserI checked into the hotel on March 28th. I had severe altitude sickness. I saw a reminder on the Ctrip backend that the hotel would start supplying oxygen at 8pm, so I had to buy a few oxygen cylinders myself. There was a problem with the humidifier in the room. The room attendant came in without saying hello, just filled the humidifier with water and left. There was no minimum courtesy or kind reminder to customers about the instructions. There was no training or assessment on weekdays. At 8 o'clock, there was still no oxygen, and my oxygen cylinder had been used up. I called the front desk and she told me that the oxygen supply would start at 8:30. At 8:30, I called her again and she said the technician had gone to open it. At 8:33, she called again and asked me to wait. I arrived directly at 8:37. I questioned the front desk, but they still didn't feel uneasy. I went to the VIP building of Tibet Hotel as a person with altitude sickness. Many other hotels provide oxygen all day long, but they didn't provide oxygen from 8:30 pm to 7 am the next day, which is very unfriendly. I didn't expect that they didn't provide it during the time period and there was no apology. I had a severe headache from altitude sickness and found the front desk to question them. High-quality service should open oxygen for customers in advance and care about their physical condition. This front desk was arrogant and had no sympathy for the customers. Altitude sickness is very dangerous. I accepted such a cold and ruthless service experience of the VIP building of Tibet Hotel when I was extremely uncomfortable. I will never come again! !

GGuest UserThe hotel isn't to far from the Portola Palace (a short taxi trip). I wouldn't say its a true 4 star hotel. The room was a good size, quiet and didn't smell of cigarette smoke. The room was a little worn out; I couldn't get the TV to work, the mirror on the wet bar area was cracked, there were marks to the walls where paintings/pictures had once been. Most annoying was the shower cubicle and the shower over the bath had only cold water! On my last morning the power was off in my area of the hotel and the lift was not working due to the power outage. The hotel staff do not speak English, but one lady working on reception was especially nice and helpful and we were able to communicate by using the translation app. There are lots of restaurants near by, but next time I think I'd prefer to stay closer to the Portola Palace.
