"The rooms are large and modern. The bathroom is huge and, depending on your configuration may have a separate room for the toilet or may have a bidet. There is a refrigerator in the room. Ours was stocked with free snacks. The beds are firm in a good way and the air conditioning is cool. As for the hotel, there is a spa and a pool on the roof. The pool is more of a soaking pool than a swimming pool, but it was great in June to fight the heat. The spa is lovely. Highly recommend the hammam and the massage as I tried both and they were incredible. There is a great restaurant with a Moroccan and International menu. Breakfast is included and was great too! The staff are amazingly friendly. I would stay here again if I could!"

"Great breakfast and wonderful service at the breakfast. The spa area was freshly renovated and smelled of lacquer. The female sauna was not operational. The steam bath (Turkish hammam) was marked as free in the hotel description, but the staff told us that it needed a reservation and wouldn't let us use it. Worst of all and something that is inconceivable for a hotel in this category, they were out of stock on hotel slippers! How to use the spa area or relax in the room without slippers?"

"We stayed at Riad Hanael from Tuesday to Saturday and had a very positive experience. The riad is beautiful and clearly very well cared for. The tilework is impressive and feels truly traditional, and the garden is a lovely place to spend time, with a small pool and a fountain that create a calm atmosphere after a day in the medina. We stayed in the Ambassador Suite. The room was very large, with high ceilings, and divided by a carved wooden panel that made the space feel both open and intimate. It opened directly onto the garden, which we really enjoyed. The riad arranged our airport transfer and, at our request, also organized a guide for us. Everything was handled smoothly, and we never had to worry about logistics, which made the stay very easy and relaxing. The staff were extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. We spent time talking with Mohammad and Mehdi, and those conversations were one of the highlights of the trip. They were always available, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. This was not a short visit, and the riad ended up being our favorite part of the journey. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to others visiting Fez."

"The hotel is a typical Moroccan traditional courtyard-style hotel, Riad/Ryad. We took a taxi from the train station, and the driver dropped us off at the "Blue Gate" of the old city. Google Maps was a bit unreliable, so we relied on locals for directions. The staff were very helpful, showing us around the gardens and rooftop. The rooms were clean and spacious, and we stayed for two nights. The breakfast tableware was beautiful and very Moroccan. My companion, Dongdong, asked if they had omelets, which were supposed to be served the next morning, but the staff immediately made them for us from the kitchen. For dinner, we tried authentic Moroccan couscous at the hotel, but it wasn't quite to our taste. What was particularly heartwarming was that during those days of heavy rain, the train tracks were damaged, and Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform) reported that trains were suspended. The staff called the train station several times to confirm if trains were running, and we finally left on time. Although it was the off-season and there were few guests, the staff and manager were exceptionally warm and attentive! I wrote about my experience on Xiaohongshu (Rednote, China's famous social media platform), and I'm sharing screenshots here."

"The Riad is really nice, well located with large, very comfortable rooms, HOWEVER we were the victim of a real scam. Meal at €27 per person, there were 6 of us. A bowl of basic soup, while a Moroccan salad was planned. a couscous without any flavor in the broth with vegetables semolina 1 piece of meat per person actually a little beef on a piece of bone. And like fruit desert. It was 3 times more expensive than in local restaurants and after 2 weeks in Morocco we noticed that it was much worse. The preparation of the couscous had been botched with products at the lowest cost. Unacceptable in a guest room of this level."

"The riyals were exceptionally beautiful, typical of traditional Moroccan courtyard houses. The ambiance was impeccable; from the courtyard to the rooms to the terrace, everything was exactly to my aesthetic liking—exquisite and impeccably clean. The location was excellent, just a five-minute walk from the Blue Gate, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the Medina's old city. However, it was tucked away in a small alley, making it a bit difficult to find. Other riyals in the old city likely have the same issue, given that Fez's old city has over 9,000 alleyways—it's quite complex. Breakfast was a generous and refined meal per person, featuring three types of bread or local flatbreads, orange juice, fruit, yogurt, fried eggs, and coffee or tea. The staff were exceptionally friendly. Since we were driving, on our first day, the GPS led us to a restricted area, showing only 300 meters away. My husband parked there while I walked to find it, but at a fork in the road, the destination disappeared, replaced by two deep alleyways. A local asked me for 20 dirhams, but when I arrived, I discovered it wasn't the guesthouse I had booked, but another guesthouse also called Zamane. After much pleading, the staff led me to the Zamane I was looking for, located in a side alley. I noticed the sign said "Riad Zamane Maison d’hotes," not "Riad Zamane boutique & spa" on Ctrip. I wonder if that's why the directions weren't correct. The English-speaking manager was sick and didn't come to work that day, and didn't make proper arrangements. A special thank you to Ms. Nadia, who was in charge of housekeeping; she put down her work and walked with me to our parking spot, directing us to another road to park near the guesthouse. I also want to thank a handsome young man whose name starts with H (I forgot his full name) who helped us buy bottled water. He was always smiling and greeted us warmly; he was very friendly. I'd suggest that the guesthouse keep a few bottles of water in the rooms, at least one large bottle, as Fes is very dry and we desperately need them."

"It’s not a bad hotel, but its rooms are a bit old. I paid 1400D to ask for a normal double room and asked it to be “quite” but it’s not. The room locates right next to a main street so during the whole night you can hear endless cars, motors and police car alarms. The window fully closed yet blocked no noise. AC needs to be replaced to new one as it howling every few minutes like a diesel engine. The room is big and clean though. I had to wait for 25 minutes to check in. I don’t blame the staff as they were just too busy. They only have 3 people at the reception and they need to deal with frequent customer requirements, individual customers and tour groups at the same time! If this were just an ordinary 2–3 star hotel, I wouldn’t have much to complain about. However, for a resort charging 1,400 dirhams per night, this level of management and infrastructure really needs to be updated and improved."

"This was the only hotel on our Morocco trip where the pool was open until 7:30 PM, which was great for the kids. However, it was extremely crowded, I suspect they open it to non-guests for a fee. There's a supermarket about a ten-minute walk away, which was handy for stocking up on supplies. The hotel grounds are like a garden, and the staff were reasonably friendly, but I felt like I was being watched everywhere I went. On the plus side, the room facilities were quite comprehensive, and the small balcony was perfect for drying swimsuits overnight. You can also boil water for tea."
