"Though it is dated, it is clean and has everything you need. The bed was comfortable and a good shower. It is close to Perth train station and very handy to Perth eateries. It's very central in the city. I would definitely stay there again. The service on check in was great."

"The location is really convenient, very close to many tour meeting points and major five-star hotels. It's also near the beach and the mint! The service was great, quick and efficient! I was a bit worried after seeing some negative reviews, but it turned out to be much better than expected. The dining table was nice, even though we didn't use the kitchen. "The room was clean, and the family room we booked was quite spacious, with a fridge and microwave, which made it super convenient to heat up takeout. The area around the hotel is packed with all sorts of specialty restaurants, mostly Asian ones. You'll find Vietnamese, Indian, Malaysian, Japanese, Korean, and even Chinese restaurants – basically everything! Right next door to the hotel, there's also a massive Asian supermarket, run by a ********* owner, and it's incredibly well-stocked. Grabbing some instant meals from there can definitely save you money on dining out. The sky in South Australia is always so clear and blue, but the UV is really strong. Luckily, the room had those solid blackout curtains that created a perfect environment for a good night's sleep. Staying at this hotel was just incredibly convenient for eating and shopping."

"A great stay, good sized rooms with all necessities, fridge, coffee milk etc. Comfortable beds, reverse cycling air con, Plenty of TV Channel options. Walkable distance to Hay Street Mall about 15 minutes. Close by some good coffeeshops and cafes. Rooms are presented well, fresh and clean."

"This hotel boasts an excellent location, surrounded by numerous restaurants and shops in a bustling area of Perth. It's just a ten-minute walk to the Bell Tower and Elizabeth Quay. While there are some homeless people in the vicinity, the hotel maintains good security. After 9 PM, you need your room key to access both the lobby and the elevators."

"I stayed for 6 days, and it was my first time staying in an overseas hostel! Regarding amenities, nothing is provided, so you need to bring your own shampoo, body wash, etc. There are only showers. The cleanliness depends on the room you're in. My room was a bit messy because I was sharing it with someone who had been staying there for a long time. The hallway had boots and shoes from guests, but it wasn't inconvenient to walk through. The communal kitchen and lobby were great for relaxing, which I really appreciated. There's also an exclusive guest area on the first floor where you can play games or eat. Since I was traveling solo this time, I didn't usually use it, but I found out about it when I had dinner with my roommate once. The reception staff were polite, energetic, and made for a pleasant experience. It was also possible to store luggage after check-out; it was set up so you could put your bags in a luggage room yourself."

"The hotel's location is great, right in the city center with plenty of dining options nearby. The hotel environment and restaurant are also very good, and the rooms are quite spacious. However, there's significant room for improvement when it comes to room cleanliness. My bedsheets had stains on them when I pulled them back, and housekeeping didn't even clean the toilet! On the bright side, the front desk and restaurant staff were all very enthusiastic and polite."

"I was a bit hesitant after reading the reviews, but I found this place to be a real gem. It's a bit far from the city center, but if you have a car, it's absolutely no problem. Parking is A$25 per night in the standard underground car park. You definitely need a car when visiting Western Australia. The hotel infrastructure is excellent; this setup would easily qualify as a five-star hotel back home. During the Southern Hemisphere summer, the indoor pool was closed, but the outdoor pool is accessible directly with your room key. You can ask the staff for directions. The beach is right downstairs, and you can spend a whole day there, just like the locals do. The ocean-view room was stunning; waking up to the sea view was amazing. The room was spacious and very clean upon check-in. However, the hotel is quite large, and the housekeeping on the second day was a bit slow; our room hadn't been cleaned by 4 PM when we returned, so we just grabbed fresh towels and skipped the cleaning. The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful. This area is a lively hub. Every summer, Western Australia hosts Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night markets, and Scarborough is where the Thursday night market takes place. The area around the hotel becomes incredibly vibrant, feeling like all of Perth has descended upon it. Downstairs, there are various restaurants, including a Thursday Special Steak deal, offering a 30% discount. A 300g steak for A$30-40 is an amazing and delightful deal. There's a Coles supermarket within a 5-minute walk, where everything is cheaper – anyone who's traveled to Australia will understand. Everything was so relaxing; I hope to come back soon."

"I am writing this to warn other travelers about a major security and privacy failure we experienced at Duxton Hotel WA. Upon returning to our room at 8:55 PM, we were shocked to find our room door fully open and propped up with a wooden door wedge. Our room was located near the elevator, meaning our personal belongings and privacy were completely exposed to every passerby for nearly 5 hours (housekeeping finished at 4:30 PM). The most disappointing part was the management's response. They admitted the mistake but refused a refund, justifying it by saying ”CCTV showed no one entered” and ”nothing was stolen.” This logic is absurd. Security is about prevention, not just reporting after a crime occurs. Whether or not someone entered is a matter of LUCK, but leaving the door open was a total failure of their ”Duty of Care.” They offered a bottle of wine and breakfast, which we declined as it felt like a dismissive gesture for such a serious security issue. If you value your privacy and safety, think twice before staying here. A 5-star hotel should not have a 0-star security protocol."
