While the Asian/Balinese staff were very nice, the rest of the non-Asian team ruined our vacation.
As an Asian family with a 2.6-year-old toddler, we felt completely discriminated against. We watched the restaurant staff happily provide children's plates and bibs to Western families, but they completely ignored us. When we asked for a simple boiled egg for our daughter, a female server lied that the kitchen couldn't do it. Worse, when we asked about reheating food for our baby, the Head Chef came out and aggressively shouted at us, "DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!" with extreme hostility. The large Caucasian male receptionist (who leaves his top shirt button undone) was also incredibly rude and disrespectful to us and other Asian guests.
On top of the ******, housekeeping was a nightmare. They didn’t clean our bathrooms or vacuum the carpets for the first 7 days until we complained. They even left a commercial carpet blower machine running outside our room until 9 PM. It was so loud that I had to go out and shut it off myself so my toddler could sleep. The breakfast buffet was also terrible and repetitive, with rancid nuts.
We paid a lot of money to stay here for a long trip, but we were treated like second-class citizens. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you are Asian.
