I absolutely love this hotel. I'd definitely stay there again. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The onsen was excellent. A few days here in the winter would be a real treat.

The hotel is one kilometer away from the bus terminal, but there are small stops near the hotel to various ski resorts, which is very convenient. I booked a total of 5 nights, including meals. The 5 breakfasts are basically Japanese, very hearty and satisfying! It is a traditional Japanese-style bed and breakfast. The room is on tatami mats and you make your own bed. In some years, the furniture is not new, and you can hear it in the walking room in the corridor, but it is very clean! The quality of the guests is also very good, there is no loud noise, which is much better than the Europeans and Americans who later lived in the hotel! The boss is an old Japanese couple. They don’t talk much and may not always smile like other Japanese people, but in fact they love to help. After dinner every morning, they ask you where you plan to go today, and then pull you there. His map wall helps you plan your itinerary, and the hotel also has a lot of coupons or low-cost ski tickets for ski resort cooperation. Save a lot of expenses. After checking out, you need to change to another hotel. Even though the owner wasn't there, the staff were incredibly helpful. The food, cleanliness, beds, and shuttle service were all top-notch. It's a very stylish hotel! Highly recommended! I'll definitely be back next time.

Very friendly staff. I was there off season, so there where no more shuttle busses available. Since the hotel is directly near the slopes, there are no direct shops near by. And you have to either walk 20 minutes to the nearest Lawson or take a taxi. I liked the japan-western style room. The owner was so kind to take me to the Hakuba Goryu Snow Resort which is only a short drive around the corner. There is also a Ski Resort just next to the hotel but it was already closed for the season.

Wonderful Stay at Garden Pension Obogurgl We had an excellent experience at Garden Pension Obogurgl. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the Hakuba Goryu lifts, which made getting on the mountain super easy every day. The pension itself is cozy, clean, and peaceful, with a lovely garden that adds to the charm. Our room was warm and comfortable, with plenty of space for ski gear, and the communal areas had a relaxed, homely vibe. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, always happy to help with local tips and transport advice. We especially enjoyed being able to walk everywhere—whether it was to the nearby convenience stores, local restaurants, or just strolling among the beautiful pine trees. The large cherry blossom tree out the front added a special touch to the peaceful surroundings. If you're after a quiet, scenic, and welcoming place to stay in Hakuba Goryu, Garden Pension Obogurgl is a fantastic choice.

The hotel staff were incredibly friendly. There's a self-service UCC coffee machine in the lobby with free refills. The breakfast spread was excellent, and the large windows offered fantastic views of the snowy landscape. Our room was fully equipped for cooking, with a stove, sink, microwave, fridge, and kettle – everything you need to prepare your own dinner if you're on vacation. If you're driving, there's a large supermarket just a minute or two away. Plus, there's a hot spring bath, which is perfect for soaking away fatigue after skiing. They also offer free parking and ski equipment rental, which was both good quality and reasonably priced. If I ever visit Hakuba again, I'd definitely choose this hotel.

An older-style hotel, but very clean. It has separate onsens for men and women. Breakfast is served as individual sets. The hotel also has a dinner restaurant, which is convenient because going out to eat without a car isn't easy. The futon-style bedding was comfortable and warm. The bathroom was a bit small. It snowed while I was there, and it was beautiful because the hotel is located in the mountains.

The hotel offers a tranquil atmosphere surrounded by nature, allowing you to relax and feel like you're away from everyday life. The interior has a warm and inviting design, and the guest rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff were attentive and their thoughtful service left a lasting impression. The hot spring bath is spacious, allowing you to fully unwind after a long day of travel. It's a hotel where you can fully enjoy the charm of Hakuba, and I would love to visit again.
