GGuest UserRoom was in excellent condition as was the bathroom. Room was very large with a king bed, two large sitting chairs in front of a wood burning fireplace and a separate desk area. Restaurant had interesting signs and was very good. The Inn is a little far from Banff center to be able to walk there.

HH T (Jakarta)On March 19th 2026 at noon, I called the hotel and spoke with a lady who seemed to be the manager.
I told her that I couldn’t drive to Banff from Kamloops because of the road closure on Trans-Canada Highway 1 and Highway 93 due to the bad weather—heavy snow, a force majeure situation, Mother Nature herself!
That lady didn’t want to cancel my reservation and give me a full refund. I asked her which road I should take, but she couldn’t answer.
I had to take alternate roads to Jasper, Hinton, Evansvurg, Drayton Valley, Rocky Mountain House, Sundre, Cochrane, and finally arrived at the hotel around 2 a.m.
That lady really should have not been working at the hotel.

GGuest UserThe hotel facilities are quite new, the environment is beautiful, and getting around is very convenient. The town's bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and you can ride the town's public transportation for free. The restaurant on the first floor of the hotel is highly recommended – it's fantastic! However, the hotel does not provide slippers, toothbrushes, or other toiletries, so you'll need to bring your own or buy them at the town's supermarket.

小小毛廬The counter staff is friendly and the feeling is very comfortable.
There are few breakfast options, but a simple gym is good.
There is a refrigerator, microwave and bathtub, which is great.
There are also many seats in the lounge on the first floor.
Open-air bathing is really recommended, and it is very clean! !
I think the CP value is very high, and there is a free parking space! !
It is very convenient to drive to Banff. It is a little distance from the town, about 15 minutes walk.
But overall it is still highly recommended.

GGuest UserRoom no 203= I reported to trip.com that my booking was from 11 to 13 September but I couldn’t manage to sleep 11 September night and then 12 September there was scary situation at around 2-3 am ,so again couldn’t manage to sleep whole night
Inside room one guy was snoring very badly so another guy started screaming and shouting and create scary situation
Then somehow I have to left room around 3 am and I was sitting at reception,then one member of reception open room for me and I was sitting on bed until morning.
So both night no sleep and I decided to leave hotel for my own safety and lack of sleep I couldn’t enjoy my day trip aswell.
I reported everything to reception again and I requested all of 3 night refund to hotel and trip .com
I’m waiting on my total refund of 3 nights
If I don’t receive refund I am going to put all this story on social media against trip.com

GGuest UserOur stay at Caribou Lodge was perfect! Exactly what we were expecting. The proximity to downtown is great - 10 minute walk or you could take the ROAM bus straight downtown. The hotel has character and we had the perfect stay. All staff was super friendly and inviting. The front desk employee was super helpful and explained our ROAM passes and the other amenities perfectly. Loved that Rocky Mountain Soap Co was in all the bathrooms, too! All in all, a great experience for a great price and I would highly recommend it.

There are different restaurants for our choices, I love The Rundal, Waldhaus, The Vermollion Room, all with good scenery at window seat.

The yoga class, gym room, outdoor hot pool, indoor pool are also good for us to have some relaxation activities!

MMariaMG13We stayed at Royal Canadian Lodge in Banff from March 26–29 with my 7-year-old daughter, and overall we had a great experience.
Check-in was simple and straightforward. We arrived in the early evening, and Jason at the front desk was the most approachable and helpful hotel staff member I have ever dealt with. He remembered my daughter’s name, greeted her every day, checked in with us throughout our stay, and added little touches that made the trip feel extra special for both of us.
The renovated room itself was fairly standard for a hotel room, but comfortable. Our room had two queen beds, which worked well for us. The bathroom had a shower only, with no bathtub, but that was not an issue. The pillows were big and lumpy, all 8 of the pillows in our room were too high/tall for my daughter to use comfortably. There are robes provided in the room, it would be a nice touch if they could also provide kids size robes. We had a mini fridge, coffee maker with coffee, and kettle with tea provided in the room.
We ordered room service one night and tried the pulled pork poutine, which was the daily special from the restaurant. Unfortunately, it was not very good, and I would not recommend it.
The TV included free cable and on-demand programming, as well as pay-per-view movies. I had brought my laptop and an HDMI cord, and we were able to connect it to the TV easily to watch our own movies. Watching on-demand, my daughter discovered The Simpsons and loved it (lol)
The pool area was a big highlight for us. The pool is salt water rather than chlorine. The water itself was on the cooler side, but there was also a good-sized hot tub and a large steam room. My daughter quickly made friends with another family staying at the hotel, and the kids spent multiple hours a day in the pool together.
The gym was small but functional. In the four days we were there, it was empty every time we walked by.
Parking is $20 per day, which does add up. There is also free street parking behind the hotel if you are able to find a spot.
One fun feature in the lobby was the robot, which the kids absolutely loved. We were told that after construction is complete, it will be delivering items to guest rooms. During our stay it moved around the lobby, told jokes, and handed out free apples.
The hotel was reasonably priced compared with other options in the area. I chose it specifically for the pool setup, knowing we would be spending a lot of time there, and it worked out really well for that. Shops and restaurants on the main street were about a 10-minute walk away, or you could take the bus that stops outside the neighboring hotel for $2 per ride, with kids riding free.
I would definitely stay here again in the future. The price, location, rooms, and pool make this a very family-friendly hotel option in Banff.

MMariaMG13We did a little staycation in Banff from Calgary and overall had a great time.
The cave pool was a big hit, but just a heads up that it’s not really a “swimming pool.” It’s more like a large cave-style hot tub. It’s shallow, and the water is fairly hot, so the kids couldn’t really swim or put their faces under the water. The cave setup is very cool though, and the adults really enjoyed it for relaxing. The dry sauna was also great.
We stayed in a suite with two double beds, plus a living area with a sofa bed, a dining area, and a kitchenette. We were happy with the layout. The suite was clean, but it is definitely dated.
One downside was the TVs. I know you don’t go to Banff to sit and watch TV, but it would be nice if they updated to smart TVs. If you’re traveling with kids, I’d suggest bringing a Fire Stick or Chromecast. Even an HDMI cable to connect a laptop would work, but make sure you download movies ahead of time because the Wi-Fi in our area was pretty spotty and the kids kept losing connection.
The front desk staff were fantastic. Friendly, helpful, and efficient. They made parking easy, provided bus passes, and explained local info without us having to ask a bunch of questions.
We’d stay here again, and next time we’ll definitely bring something for the TV so we can do an easy movie night after a busy day.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and check-in was quick and hassle-free. The room was comfortable, although the cleanliness could be improved, as there were a few details that housekeeping seemed to have missed. The facilities were fairly basic and a bit dated, but everything worked as expected. Overall, it was a decent stay for the price, and we would consider coming back for a short visit.
