Hotels with balcony in Funchal

We really enjoyed our stay at Baia Azul. This hotel has everything! Gorgeous views from the lounge area, a lovely bar with entertainment at night, excellent service, lovely comfortable rooms, and a very nice pool area. We cannot fault it! The breakfast was also lovely. Would definitely stay here again!

The design and interiors are exceptionally luxurious. Drawbacks: 1. Pool is not heated in summer time 2. 5 days in the beginning of June - buffet dinner restaurant is closed. 3. All the service and cooking in restaurants is very slow. You always need to wait. Any lunch or dinner will not take you less than 1.5 hours. 4. Annoying room service. In the morning they wake you up to clean the room, then they come to bring you water, then for turndown service (just 2 sweets), then for something else. It never ends. Bring everything in 1 visit? Not possible

Since it was all-inclusive, we were able to eat and drink at one of the restaurants. The restaurant I recommend is an Italian cafe called VELA DI CANALE. They offer all-you-can-eat hot pizza, and if you time it right, they'll even bake you your own pizza with your favorite toppings. The pool was spacious and we were able to relax. I'd love to stay here again.

I chose a hotel with an ocean view at an affordable price. As a result, there was a hotel with very spacious rooms, panoramic window, coffee/tea, a comfortable bathroom with bid, a large balcony. The only moments: a separate bed for the couple and a weak shower. Noise of night waves on the amateur:) We had to close the door on the balcony, though it was quite noisy. The service is very friendly.  Breakfast is delicious and fresh. There are plenty of baking, drinks, cuts and hot.  I didn't expect there would be a free transfer to the center and back. Absolute plus this hotel because it is not in step-by-step access from the center.  The views, the purity near the hotel, its beach is amazing.  Then we lived in the private sector and a lot of what looked at the island, but the first two nights in Orca Praia remained in our heart 💘 With respect,  Elena from Russia

Double room for single occupancy; the room is rather substandard and in no way meets the standards of a 4-star hotel. Upon arrival, there was a steadily growing puddle under the sink in the bathroom, extending behind the toilet. The damage must have been known for some time, as the corresponding limescale stains had not been removed. There were water stains all over the bathroom ceiling, a discolored shower curtain, and not a single electrical outlet (even for an electric toothbrush). The room itself is only habitable with the balcony closed, as jackhammers and excavators operate loudly from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM in the hotel opposite, making noise impossible to ignore even with the door closed. Therefore, balcony use is only possible after 6:00 PM. Moving to another room is not possible, as the hotel is fully booked. For my trip costing €622, I was offered a complimentary dinner (worth €21.50) in the hotel restaurant on the last evening as compensation.

Pobyt w hotelu byl cudownym doświadczeniem. Mieszkaliśmy w bloku C, przy samym oceanie, widoki obłędne. Hotel bardzo czysty. Zarówno śniadania, jak i obiadokolację, bardzo dobre. Szeroki wybór i bardzo dużo jedzenia, codziennie coś nowego. Każdemu polecę ten hotel, a jeżeli będę jeszcze raz na Maderze to zatrzymam się tam ponownie.

The hotel is beautiful and super homey, you can get to the city centre really easily as there is like 3 different buses and one that is less than a 3 minute walk away from the hotel, the staff are kind and friendly, we initially got given a room right next to the entrance, due to the really thin walls it was unfortunately really loud, but the staff moved us to a much better room with no problem at all, the rooms aren’t super clean as there was some hair left after cleaning and a bag of medicine another guest had left, but it’s an amazing hotel and I’ll be staying here again next time I visit. The pool is not usable (extremely dirty) and the breakfast and coffee are way too much for what you get.

The dining room -I was there for the breakfast- is an old one, not so inviting. The breakfast-selection is not so good, as a vegan or vegetarian you can't choose much (only beans & bread), the coffee is okay but not tasty, the juices are not fresh & sugary. There is no big pot for cooking, for two persons it would be good to have one. The bed is good, the fan does its job, the bathroom is big enough, the balcony practical. The location is near to the busline, 30min to walk to the center & there is the Lido promenade (with some places to swim) to the next small city with a small light tunnel for pedestrians, there you can hear/see the surf :) The opening times for the pool are too late in the morning and too short (8.00-20.00). The female staff at the reception with the glasses (saturday evening), didn't manage my wake-up-call for the next morning (the staff at this day showed me that he had no notice for a call), thats not a good one, because sometimes you have to depend on it.

The apartment's cleanliness was acceptable, but there's room for improvement, especially in the bathrooms, which weren't as clean as they should be for a place with high traffic. For our 5-day stay, it would have been nice if cleaning service had come through mid-stay to check on and/or replace towels and other items. Additionally, it would be advisable to inform guests that the apartment is located in the building's basement. From the parking lot, one could easily access the balcony, and directly above, at street level, there's a grocery store. Another area for improvement, for us, concerns the store. The staff uses the building's entrance hall to rest, sit, drink, and smoke (we often encountered 'gatherings' at the door, especially at night). The store staff uses the building's trash room, which is accessed via the parking lot entrance. On several occasions, we saw them force the entrance open to take out trash, leaving it unattended and open, which poses a security risk. The overall experience wasn't bad, but there's definitely significant room for improvement.

We booked a triple room 3 beds last min with late bird price. However they gave us double room 2 beds. It's on the 1st floor just next to tennis court which is quite noisy. It's 31 degree F, no air conditioner. Only 1 tiny window can be opened for fresh air but its facing a foot path with many guests access to the indoor pool, gym...etc. Not enough privacy. Location is ok as many small supermarkets, restaurants and bus stops near by within walking distance. Hotel facilities are good for the price.
