"This wasn't a great experience. The front desk staff were rude and impatient. Multiple hotels were crammed together on the same floor, making check-in crowded and noisy ā it felt like an abandoned residential complex being renovated into hotels. Cleanliness was so-so, and there weren't many restaurants nearby. It's not worth staying here for a pure vacation. Delivery services have a minimum one-hour delivery time and are very expensive. The only advantage is the nice scenery, but it's quite a distance from tourist attractions.
Note: It's extremely difficult to get a taxi here in the morning!!! Book in advance!!!"

"The room was very clean, but it was too noisy. The soundproofing was terrible. I could hear conversations from next door in the middle of the night, and even car horns from outside the door. If you're traveling and need a good night's sleep, I wouldn't recommend staying here, as it will affect your rest. However, the location is great, right at the entrance to the pier. Breakfast was decent, and the service was good too."

LLanlinlucyThis guesthouse, perched on a hill, seems to be quite popular with influencers, featuring many Instagrammable photo spots. Both the rooms and the restaurant boast floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea, with the rooms directly facing the Rainbow Lighthouse. The restaurant's view is also fantastic; having breakfast with that sea view in the morning is incredibly enjoyable. Unfortunately, the weather on our first day was terrible, with strong winds and heavy rain, which completely dampened my enthusiasm for taking photos. I imagine it would be amazing to visit in the summer! The in-room amenities were a bit lacking; perhaps to maintain a stylish look, there weren't many power outlets. However, the service attitude was absolutely superbāthey were always ready to help. They even gave plenty of advice to us fishing novices who were enthusiastic but unskilled. I must also mention the free pick-up and drop-off service, which saved us a good amount of money, considering that taxi fares on Shengshan and Gouqi Islands can be quite expensive. The recommended driver was also very nice. I'd definitely come back in the summer just for this level of service!

GGuest UserI booked this homestay on Ctrip, and the overall feeling is really good. The room is clean and comfortable, and the toiletries are no less than those of a five-star hotel. The environment looks inconspicuous from the outside, but it is quite warm inside. The boss gives people a very kind feeling and helps introduce places to visit around. The meals cooked by the boss's mother are fresh and delicious, and worth recommending.

VVictor RUWe had a lovely stay at Sea Cliff Hotel for May 1st break.
This is what I liked:
- buying ship ticket for May holiday was mission impossible, starting with Tickets App not accepting foreign passports. Hotel helped me with arranging the tickets both ways, even after there were no tickets online (sold out in 20 min)
- they arranged a pick us up on arrival and brought us back to the pier on departure
- hotel has an excellent sea view location, very silent and sea centric rooms, same for restaurant
- everything is modern, I specifically liked ability to share Apple screens on TV in the room, great way to review photos and watch own movies in the evening
- good breakfast 8 to 9AM, you can come 8:45 and enjoy a late breakfast as well; we also had late lunch in hotel restaurant on arrival, great food, great to seat outside, flexible working hours (not closed 14-17!), actually I liked their meals more than what we had on the main beach top restaurant, finally reception can brew you a coffee though bit hot
- there is 20 min walk from the hotel for a great bay and coffee place to watch sunset, excellent experience and no need to wake up early
- hotel was always online on WeChat to address any issues or questions, including how to organize a day, fantastic services!
- hotel has own beach area, looks like good to swim, I will consider for summer, water is clean on the island, and this is just couple of hours from Shanghai
- small drawback: fishing boats pass by from early morning, this may disturb your morning sleep ;)
- other thing the bed is a bit too hard for my back, but where did you see soft beds in China?
Overall: highly recommended!

The overall feel of the hotel is very upscale, and the staff are incredibly professional and helpful, always ready to answer any questions, which makes guests feel very comfortable. The room was super clean, and the decor style was really pleasant. Overall, it was a great experience, highly recommended.

AAnonymous UserThis was my second stay here. The hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to Puji Temple, and within walking distance of the bus stop. The staff are very proactive and enthusiastic, and they offer a shuttle service to and from the pier. The hotel's buffet lunch is a definite highlight ā it's great value for money, especially compared to the 25 yuan plain noodles on the commercial street next door. My only minor complaint this time was that I stayed in a non-main building, and the soundproofing wasn't great. I could hear mobile phone videos from the next room, and unfortunately, some inconsiderate guests were singing loudly and jumping around even close to 11 pm. I suggest the hotel look into improving this. Overall, it's still a very good hotel, especially for weekday stays outside of public holidays.

MMaria13579One of our best stays in China! This place was absolutely amazing. The ladies running it are hilarious and always made us laugh.
First of all - the rooms are really good for the price. We got upgraded to a much better room after our first night, free of charge. Itās also conveniently located next to grocery shops, cafes, restaurants and the beach, while still being a little out of the way from the hustle and bustle.
The food here is really good too - the (included) breakfast as well as what you can buy for lunch/dinner is really fresh. Because of the language barrier they tried to accommodate by providing more āwestern styleā breakfasts for us, but when we realized and asked about it they made us a second breakfast that was like the one everyone else got.
They also helped us out with a driver to take us to the abandoned village, and booked our tickets back to Shanghai.
Also, the aircon here is FAST and reliable which weāve realized isnāt a given after a few weeks in China. So thatās another (small yet important) plus for sure!
Usually I like to explore different places and stay at different accommodations if/when I revisit places, but Iād probably make an exception and stay here again if I ever come back to visit the island!

GGuest UserThe hotel's environment was fantastic: our balcony offered expansive sea views, and the garden was absolutely stunning. A small gate through the garden led straight to the beach. Since it was off-season, it wasn't crowded at all, which made for a very pleasant experience.
The service was excellent; the front desk, bellhops, and cleaning staff were all incredibly friendly.
The facilities were a bit dated, but for the price, the value for money was exceptional.
I'll definitely be back!
