Macau to Zhuhai: Crossing the Border on Foot

This stay truly exceeded my expectations; it's the best hotel experience I've had recently, genuinely deserving a full five-star rating! First and foremost, the cleanliness, which is my top priority, was completely reassuring. The hotel overall was clean and tidy, with the lobby and public areas of the hallways consistently dry and neat, free from odors and clutter. Upon entering the guest room, I was especially delighted; the room was well-ventilated, with fresh air and no musty or strange smells. The bedding was flat and clean, and the sheets and duvet covers felt brand new and fluffy, very comfortable against the skin, with no stains or hairs whatsoever. The bathroom was immaculately cleaned, with no water marks on the countertops or mirrors, and the toilet and shower area were thoroughly sanitized. The toiletries provided were complete and of good quality.
The service throughout was exceptionally warm and attentive. The front desk staff were gentle and patient, and the check-in and check-out processes were quick and efficient, with no complicated steps. Any needs during my stay were promptly addressed by the staff, and the cleaning ladies were meticulous, proactively replenishing drinking water, tissues, and other supplies. The hotel's attention to detail was particularly thoughtful; the lighting and power outlet layout were well-designed, and the WiFi speed was stable and smooth, perfectly meeting both work and leisure needs.
The overall living environment was quiet and comfortable, with excellent soundproofing. I couldn't hear any noise from the hallway or outside, ensuring a very peaceful night's rest. There were no hidden charges at the hotel, and the value for money was exceptional. It's perfectly suited for daily business trips, friends' getaways, or short stays. Overall, I'm very satisfied. What I appreciated most was the room cleanliness and room service. We stayed for three days, and whenever we needed fresh towels or bottled water, someone would quickly bring them. It was excellent! Food deliveries were brought to the room by a robot.
However, the pillows were too flat, and even the 'firm' one was quite soft, so my son didn't sleep very well.
The swimming pool was good too. It had a shallow area on one side and a very shallow area on the other, convenient for young children, as well as a deep end for proper swimming. My only thought was that in the evening, having only two white spotlights felt a bit simplistic; adding some decorative lighting would make swimming much more enjoyable.
Traffic downstairs was very congested. It took less than 10 minutes to get there by taxi from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge port, but due to the traffic, the driver suggested we get off at the previous intersection and walk for 3 minutes, which was fine by me as I didn't want to wait. When we left, the taxi app showed an estimated fare of 15-21 yuan, but no cars responded, so we hailed a taxi which cost 26 yuan to the port. The traffic wasn't a huge problem though, as there are many restaurants nearby within walking distance, as well as a newly opened large shopping mall, which is super convenient.From€ 41

I booked a Guestroom Suite, and upon arrival, Ginny at the front desk was very helpful and even upgraded us to an Executive Suite. It was 120 square meters, very spacious for the whole family. The hotel is close to Hengqin Port, just a few minutes by taxi, and crossing the border at noon on October 4th was incredibly smooth. The room was very clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the view was expansive. Since we checked in late, we missed out on the soft drinks and happy hour at the Executive Lounge, and we also slept in and missed breakfast. I hope to experience them next time. Just a small suggestion: the phone screen mirroring wasn't very smooth. We mirrored one movie in the evening, but couldn't get the second one to work. However, it worked perfectly again the next morning. This is something that could be improved.From€ 59

The gym had professional, well-maintained equipment, allowing adults to relax and exercise too. The hotel's self-service laundry room, nursery, and medical room were very practical and thoughtful for families. The spacious parking lot with staff guidance was a great experience. Overall, the feeling was very comfortable and cozy, my child was especially happy, and the stay was excellent. The hotel environment is very quiet, perfect for family travel, and being next to Ocean Kingdom is very convenient with a great environment. We will definitely come again. We brought our child to Chimelong and chose the Hengqin Bay Hotel. After our stay, we felt it was very suitable for families with children. When traveling with kids, you usually have a lot of luggage, so it was incredibly practical to be able to drop off our bags directly upon arrival without having to wait until after check-in to head to the park. The staff proactively informed us about the opening hours of the water park and the shuttle pier, saving us from wasted trips. The room was clean, the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the hot water came out quickly. After a full day of playing, soaking in the bathtub was relaxing for both kids and adults. Children's toiletries were provided in the room, showing great attention to detail.
The hotel isn't just for sleeping; it has plenty of activities for children right inside. You don't have to queue up at the theme park; you can watch dolphins right at the hotel. There's an outdoor platform and an indoor underwater glass viewing area, allowing close-up views of dolphins swimming back and forth – our child was completely engrossed. The flamingos in the gardens were right by the walkway. After dinner, we took a leisurely stroll, enjoying the animals as we walked, which was very relaxing.
The water park was our child's favorite part. The indoor heated area meant we didn't have to worry about rain or cold, and the outdoor lazy river and splash pools offered a lot of fun. The hotel's location is super easy to find, and we got free parking during our stay. It was so nice and convenient to just walk five minutes south from the hotel entrance to reach the beach. The hotel lobby is opulent, and the location is excellent, very close to Zhuhai Station. The room is clean and tidy, with a view of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. The hotel staff provide great service; they helped with luggage during check-in, and also assisted with bags when calling a taxi at the entrance. However, there are two issues. First, shortly after we checked in and rested in the room, we went out for dinner. During this time, someone entered our room without our consent or any prior notification. Upon returning, we found a laundry price list on the bed and a handwritten welcome card from the hotel on the nightstand. Second, I suggest replacing the Jing Tian bottled water in the room. I’m not asking for something high-end, but for a hotel of this caliber, this, along with some other in-room amenities, combined with the first issue, gives off a feeling of “cost-cutting.” This is a stark contrast to the hotel's magnificent lobby. I think this is a good hotel. But it’s really out-of-the-way. It’s in a very quiet neighborhood though, so I like that it’s not noisy at night. I really like how comfortable the king size bed was. It’s pretty clean as well, but some of the furniture is old. There is a slight moldy smell  in the room because they gave me a smoker’s room.  I just slept with the window open. Overall, I think this is a good hotel, but I just prefer a more modern look. From€ 24

The room was decent-sized, more than enough for two people. However, the air conditioning wasn't very effective, and the room cleaning was subpar. Hair from the previous day was still in the shower, indicating the bathroom wasn't cleaned properly. The hairdryer was the worst; it would stop working after about 10 seconds on the first day. I reported it to housekeeping, but they didn't replace it, and it did the same thing on the second day. Am I using it wrong? Having wet hair for two days in a row was really annoying. Also, what's with the half-glass shower design? Water splashes all over the floor. The bathroom ventilation wasn't great either; I couldn't find a switch for it.

We had booked 2 rooms for a family of 4 adults and 1 child for 1 night. The room was spacious with the view of the Grand Resort Deck (天浪淘園). The hotel would light up at night with some kind of light show at around 10pm, it's a pretty cool view to see outside our window. The pool can get pretty crowded in the afternoon, and quite difficult to find beach chairs, so better start your day early! I think I would prefer to stay 2 nights at my next visit so I do not need to rush in checking out the next day. I booked an Executive King Room, and the hotel upgraded me to a suite, which I was thrilled about. The hotel is located halfway up Guia Hill, right next to the Grand Lapa Hotel. It's about a 10-minute walk to the Guia Fortress and Lighthouse, so the location is excellent. Major attractions like the Ruins of St. Paul's and St. Dominic's Church are also just a 10-15 minute walk away. Just a short stroll downhill takes you to Guia Hill Lane, a popular spot for photos. There are also a few local eateries nearby with delicious food. The front desk staff was very friendly and check-in was quick. I had cash for the deposit, but they said Alipay was fine, and for check-out, I just needed to hand in my key card at the front desk. The deposit was refunded that same afternoon. The cakes in the hotel lobby were also delicious. The hygiene was very good; aside from the air conditioning being a bit noisy, everything else was great. Thumbs up! Oh, and another thing... all the power outlets in the hotel are universal, so no adapters are needed, and they even provide cables that directly plug into USB-C ports, which is very convenient.From€ 49

This hotel exceeded all expectations 🏨. I was honestly a bit nervous about staying here, but I was so pleasantly surprised when I arrived! First off, the atmosphere felt just like a Southeast Asian resort – incredibly relaxing and laid-back. Secondly, the service was absolutely fantastic. Freddie was super nice! I had mentioned during booking that it was a family member's birthday, and not only did they arrange a room with an even better view, but they also surprised us with a cake 🍰 and fruit. It was such a thoughtful touch! Plus, the location is super convenient, with a bus stop right outside, making it very easy to get around.From€ 62

The room was quite spacious, especially the bathroom, which had a bathtub, a shower, and still plenty of room. The air had a slightly musty smell, but it was tolerable! The service attitude was similar to what you'd find in China, with very polite greeters! There wasn't much for breakfast, and many places nearby only opened at 10 AM, though there were a few 24-hour shops. The restaurant downstairs closed at 10:30 PM! There's no **car**, but there's a bus stop nearby. If you're not familiar with the area, you won't know how to take the bus. The first time I hailed a taxi, it was quick, but after that, I couldn't get one for over ten minutes! It's more affordable on weekdays, but a bit expensive on Saturdays!From€ 49

The hotel is a bit old. The doorman at the entrance is quite friendly and will recommend nearby restaurants. Rooms facing the sea tend to be humid, but they have a balcony, which is good for smokers. At 11 AM, someone knocks on the door to ask if you need laundry service, even for those checking out that day, which disturbs sleep. If they insist on knocking, they could easily filter out check-outs beforehand or ask about laundry needs during check-in. I really dislike this. Super Satisfied Seaview Hotel Stay Experience (Free Birthday Upgrade)
I specifically chose this seaview hotel for my birthday, and the overall experience truly exceeded my expectations. From the cleanliness of the environment, the comfort of the room, and the stunning seaview, to the attentive service of the staff, everything felt incredibly warm and soothing. It was a highly recommended stay.
First, I must praise the hotel's service. The front desk staff were genuinely gentle and polite. The check-in process was patient and meticulous, with soft-spoken and friendly interactions, and a smooth, unhurried procedure. It made me feel relaxed the moment I stepped in. What surprised and touched me most was that the front desk remembered my birthday and thoughtfully offered a free room upgrade to a better seaview room. This was incredibly heartwarming. What would have been just an ordinary stay became exceptionally ceremonial and full of genuine care because of the hotel's attentiveness. It truly added a lot to my birthday trip.
The upgraded room's comfort level was outstanding. The overall environment was clean and tidy, with a spacious and comfortable layout. The room was open and not cramped, with excellent natural light and ventilation. It was meticulously cleaned, spotless, neat, and refreshing, without any dust or strange odors. The hygiene was exceptional, with clean corners, spotless floors, and gleaming tabletops. It's evident that the cleaning staff were very diligent and meticulous, handling every detail exquisitely. It made for a very reassuring and comfortable stay.
The bedding experience in the room was superb. The sheets were clean and white, flat and smooth, soft and skin-friendly to the touch, with a delicate and breathable fabric, making them very comfortable to lie on. The duvet was fluffy and soft, with just the right thickness – not heavy, yet warm and comfortable. The pillows were medium-firm, allowing me to instantly relax. The mattress had just the right firmness, conforming to my body's curves, and instantly alleviating the fatigue of a long journey. I slept incredibly soundly and peacefully, and my sleep quality was excellent.
The most amazing feature was the unbeatable seaview from the room. The vista was truly stunning and boundless. Sitting by the window, I had a direct view of the entire ocean. The scenery was expansive and healing. During the day, the clear blue sky and sparkling sea, with gentle, comfortable sea breezes, provided a clean and unobstructed view that instantly uplifted my mood. In the evening, the sunset cast its glow on the sea, making the entire seaview gentle and romantic. Every glance revealed a healing landscape. Lying in bed or sitting by the window, I could quietly admire the ocean. The scenery was truly beautiful, full of atmosphere, and immediately enhanced the vacation feeling.
The entire guest room environment was quiet, comfortable, clean, and elegant. The decor was simple and neat, and the lighting was soft and warm, making for a very pleasant living experience. The hotel's overall environment was elegant and clean, with public areas that were tidy and well-maintained. The entire atmosphere was quiet and comfortable, very relaxing. The staff were polite and gentle throughout, always responding promptly when needed, providing sincere and courteous service. The experience was excellent.
This birthday stay was truly exceptional. It was clean, comfortable, had beautiful scenery, and excellent service. I also received the hotel's thoughtful birthday amenity and a free seaview upgrade. The attention to detail was perfect, the experience was flawless, and the value for money was outstanding. This is definitely a hidden gem of a seaview hotel that I would repeatedly rebook and stay at again. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone!

I frequently stay at Ascott properties on the mainland, and this was my first time trying one in Macau 🇲🇴. The experience exceeded my expectations and was absolutely wonderful! 🎉
I especially want to give a shout-out to Emma and Gary at the front desk. They upgraded my room and even provided a small gift for my colleague's birthday 🎂! Their service was super excellent. Full marks!

There are three restaurants on the ground floor of the hotel. You can't really talk about high value for money here, but it's fair and worth what you pay for.
