Rio Hotel

I had two separate bookings and forgot to request rooms on the same floor. The front desk staff were incredibly patient and helped me adjust the booking so we could be on the same floor. Our original check-in time was 3 PM, but we arrived at 2 PM, and they kindly allowed us to check in early. My kids even got to take a 1-hour nap at the hotel, which we really appreciated. The room was spacious, and the hotel's location is excellent. I'll definitely choose Hotel Rio again on my next trip to Macau.

The hotel's location is excellent. There's a Xinmiao supermarket and various restaurants nearby. Taxis are also readily available. The only downside was the incredibly slow check-in process. There's an ATM and an OK convenience store on the first floor.

Macau's cost of living is quite high; a 700+ hotel feels just like a Hanting or All Seasons Inn. The decor is a bit dated, and the service is just average. I personally didn't feel anything special about it, and breakfast wasn't good either.

The room was nice, though the facilities were a bit old. The bathroom was quite spacious, with two sections and a bathtub. The swimming pool on the 23rd floor was fantastic, and my kids absolutely loved it. The family room had two large 1.5-meter beds.

Overall, a great experience. The room was spacious and bright, and the service was excellent; they proactively moved us to the 21st floor for a better view. The location is convenient and it's a quiet place to stay. Definitely worth a visit.

The room was great! The hotel is huge, so check-in took about half an hour. We dropped off our luggage the next day and headed straight out to explore. Breakfast didn't have a huge variety, but it was pretty good.

I arrived in the evening, so check-in was quick with no queues. There was a 500 deposit, which was promptly returned after check-out. I'd requested a non-smoking and quiet room, and they absolutely delivered on both. The air conditioning in the room was incredibly quiet at night, which was a blessing for someone like me with sleep issues. There are plenty of places to eat around the hotel, and it's super convenient for shopping. The bathroom was spacious, and the shower had great water pressure – very comfortable. The only downsides were that the shampoo and shower gel weren't great (I ended up buying my own from the supermarket), and I found the low ceilings a bit oppressive, especially with the dark carpet. However, the pillows and duvet were very comfortable. The mattress was an older spring type and quite bouncy, but it was fine sleeping alone.
