The hotel is located in the heart of Beijing, near the embassy district, making it convenient for getting around yet surprisingly quiet. Compared to other five-star hotels, Chang Fu Gong offers exceptional value for money. When I booked, I just thought the price was very reasonable for a holiday period, and I was a bit hesitant about the facilities and service. However, my experience after checking in was absolutely amazing.
From the doorman to the front desk staff and the lobby manager, every employee consistently maintained a natural and polite smile. It felt genuine and very comfortable. They even offered complimentary snacks during my stay.
Despite being in the city center, the hotel has a spacious parking lot, which is very convenient for those driving. The hotel lobby isn't opulent, but it feels incredibly welcoming, perfect for small families. The four elevators operate very efficiently. From the elevators to the guest rooms, the hallway carpets were spotless, which deserves special praise 👍 – it's rare to see an older hotel maintain such cleanliness. Our room wasn't huge, but beyond the standard amenities, several key aspects stood out: the bathroom was very spacious with a comfortable shower, and the toilet was electronically controlled, which is lovely in winter. The room's cabinets had many compartments, perfect for families like ours with lots of small items to organize. In short, the hotel pays great attention to detail.
Unfortunately, due to limited time, we couldn't stay longer to experience other hotel services and facilities, including dining. We will definitely choose Chang Fu Gong again when we visit Beijing.FromKRW 137,751

Exceeded my expectations! I'd read some mixed reviews online, but because of its great location, I decided to book this hotel. We opted for a deluxe room with breakfast, and after my actual stay, I just had to share my real experience – it was completely different from what I expected, and absolutely fantastic!
The cleanliness was truly impeccable. The room was bright and spotless, and the bedding felt crisp, soft, and comfortable. Even the public areas were meticulously maintained; you could tell the daily cleaning was done with great care. Though, I know everyone has different sensitivities when it comes to cleanliness!
The facilities and service were incredibly thoughtful too! During check-in, the front desk lady proactively informed us about breakfast times and location, and even reminded us about the complimentary wellness soup the hotel offers – so warm and considerate! She also gave us a little 'warm reminder' note with all the activities clearly listed, providing plenty of information.
Every staff member we encountered throughout our stay was incredibly polite, from the bellboy at the entrance to the front desk and house-keeping staff; their attitudes were all excellent. Once, when I asked about nearby attractions, they patiently explained for quite a while. I never experienced any of the 'indifference' or 'haughtiness' some reviews mentioned; my experience was truly top-notch.
Honestly, hotel experiences are always subjective. Depending on the check-in time or the staff you encounter, your feelings might vary. If you've already paid for your stay, you just want peace of mind and comfort! I often see complaints online about people having allergies or demanding refunds, and honestly, I can't relate to that. In summary, all the service staff were polite and highly professional. Based on my experience, this hotel is definitely worth recommending – hope this helps anyone planning a trip!FromKRW 137,542

Stayed at the Legendale Hotel at the end of 2025. The lobby had a strong Christmas atmosphere, and many people came to take photos, making it a bit crowded. There were also many hotel guests. The rooms felt a bit dated but were fully equipped, and the service was warm and attentive. Every time I stay, I enjoy walking in the corridor outside my room; I really like this atrium-style design. Another reason I choose to stay at the Legendale Hotel is its close proximity to Peking Union Medical College Hospital, which is within walking distance, making it very convenient for medical check-ups.FromKRW 178,721

The room attendant cleaned promptly, and there was a dedicated person in the lobby to operate the elevators. The gym and pool staff were friendly and welcoming. The deluxe view room, facing due east and located on floors 25 and above, is part of the executive level, offering panoramic views of the East Third Ring Road. In the mornings, you can gaze at the 'fog city' (referring to Beijing's occasional haze), and at night, admire the iconic illuminated landmarks. The nearby multi-story PwC building, lit 24/7, evoked many similar memories for me. The pool facilities were also excellent – a truly worthwhile experience!FromKRW 145,903

This was my second stay here. The hotel boasts an excellent location in Wangfujing, and I consider it to be one of the best value-for-money options in Beijing. The rooms are spacious, and the service is excellent. You can easily walk to the Forbidden City, the National Museum, and Tiananmen Square. The only downside, which is due to the central heating, is that the room was 26 degrees Celsius – far too hot! I guess that's a characteristic of northern China in winter. It's puzzling why they maintain such a high temperature when just a few degrees lower would save energy and be much more comfortable. The hotel staff did their best, providing a portable air conditioner, ice, and suggesting opening the window, but after all that effort, it made little difference. It's a tough situation for them too.FromKRW 222,826

A truly pleasant surprise and excellent value for money! The service here is exceptional. My family and I stayed for 4 nights straight.
**Facilities:** Modern.
**Cleanliness:** The cleaning staff are incredibly diligent. They even folded our clothes! My own comb broke during our stay, and the cleaner quietly fixed it for me – that was a lovely surprise.
**Environment:** Superb! The subway entrance is just over 100 meters away, and it's within two stops of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven, making getting around incredibly convenient. There are also plenty of malls and restaurants nearby, so dining is easy. What's more, despite being in such a convenient location, it's surprisingly quiet. The windows must be well soundproofed because you can't hear any traffic noise at night. The view from the window also offers a lovely modern city vibe.
**Service:** This is definitely the biggest highlight. The front desk staff are incredibly attentive. For our last night, it was New Year's Eve, and we couldn't book a twin room, so we ended up with a king-sized bed. We were bracing ourselves for the hassle of switching rooms, but the front desk staff quietly paid attention to this detail. When a twin room became available, they called us to ask if we wanted to switch. This kind of extra service, truly thinking from the customer's perspective, deserves huge praise! 👍👍👍FromKRW 99,916

My stay at The Peninsula Beijing was made memorable largely thanks to Sylvia at the front desk. From the warm welcome during check-in to her thoughtful recommendations for nearby attractions, she provided attentive, professional and genuinely helpful service that made me feel right at home.
However, there was a notable downside with the in-room electronic lighting system. When I tried to turn off the lights at midnight to sleep, the system malfunctioned completely, leaving me with no way to dim or shut off the lights. I had no choice but to sleep with the lights on all night, which severely ruined my sleep quality. I sincerely hope the hotel will take this issue seriously and conduct a full inspection and maintenance of the electronic facilities in all guest rooms to prevent future guests from facing the same inconvenience.

Review: Stay Home
This trip was like an encounter with prehistoric man and a case study of a failed business combined.
If you book a standard room, you will be taken away from the five star reception area to another building which has the decor and standards of a thirty year old hotel. Faded carpets, peeling walls, smelly interiors, uncleaned floors and rooms which are impossible to heat. But it was just about liveable, in that it had a bed and hot water. What totally failed to impress were the amenities. We'd come for the children's stuff, the little zoo, water park and others. The price of these are not included in the hotel, and for each experience they charge adults and baby to the tune of 80rmb, meaning you will spend quite a bit to use it all. As soon as I saw the children's rides I became depressed, they were rusting and looked murderous, as if the nuts and bolts would be dislodged and explode fatally in all directions if a kid shook too heavily on the things. To even use anything suggested you'd become unclean as well. Then you attempt to ask staff something but stop when you realise how futile it would be to address someone with one eye in its forehead and the other in its chin, with their peers boasting similarly fascinating facial misalignments. An hour of that and we wanted to leave, including our baby. She would have been much happier at home playing with her toys, or rather just happy at home doing anything than being at the Nirvana resort. Anyway, the swimming pool is not free either, they will charge you 58 a person including child. When I went to ask about a swim, staff were downright stunned I'd walked in to ask such a question, watching as I entered and left with hillbilly intensity and incomprehension.
You can see the park had a lot of money invested in it before, way back in the misty past, but I can't see them recouping their losses. The resort is a grab money scheme with separate interests taking care of, or neglecting, what is on offer. I can't see them attracting a moneyed middle class without a total overhaul.
On the plus side, my wife and I did have a good laugh about how bad it was and the fact we'd packed for a few days in expectation of a holiday, but found ourselves cancelling after an hour. The reception was helpful with this and refunded our money. The staff are well meaning in a vacuous kind of way, going about their duties as the whole place drops about them, broken lifts, falling plaster, water leaks and all. But to be sincerely positive, the gardens are pleasant along with the lake and ducks.FromKRW 124,164

This hotel is great for a weekend getaway with kids. Juyongguan Great Wall and Shuiguan Great Wall are nearby, with Shuiguan Great Wall being closer and less crowded, though a bit challenging to climb. The hotel is nestled in the mountains, offering a pleasant environment with individual villas dotted up the hillside. Our room was quite far, so we needed to drive to the lobby and restaurant.
The hotel also offers many family-friendly activities. On our second morning, we participated in a valley hike, which was essentially a mountain climb – it requires some stamina.
There were also quite a few downsides. Given how spread out the rooms are and how far they are from the lobby, one would expect butler service, but there was none. Moreover, it was very difficult to get through to the front desk from the room phone. For a self-proclaimed 'family-friendly hotel,' there weren't even children's slippers in the room. After finally getting through on the phone, it took an hour for them to be delivered. Why weren't they provided directly at check-in when they saw we had a child?
The room itself was fairly large, but the bathroom lacked air conditioning/heating, and the shower was open-concept. This design might be fine in Sanya, but in Yanqing, showering at night was absolutely freezing. There was also water pooling, and when staff came to check, they said it was because the floor drain was too high, and nothing could be done, which was a bit frustrating.
We had two meals at the hotel restaurant; the food was good, albeit a bit pricey. We also ate at a farmhouse restaurant down the mountain where the iron pot stewed fish was delicious – I forgot its name, but it had “Tell Old Mo I want to eat fish” written on the wall.
Despite the downsides, it's still a good place for a weekend with kids. The hotel has an outdoor pool and a children's splash pool, which were closed due to the cold weather. We'll definitely bring the kids back in the summer.FromKRW 176,421

I brought my kids to let off some steam over the weekend and stayed in a Deluxe King Room. It seems I ran into the Beijing Orthopedic Surgery Medical Conference, so rooms were quite scarce.
Service: Check-in procedures seemed a bit complicated, and I waited for about 15-25 minutes on Saturday afternoon at 2 PM. However, guests who booked through Ctrip seemed to check in faster, didn't need to pay a deposit, and got their rooms immediately. With the hotel almost fully booked on a weekend, it seems some high-tier Marriott members tried to battle for an upgrade but weren't successful, which further confirmed the room shortage. I had requested a bed rail in advance, and it was provided right away.
Environment: Standard five-star hotel.
Hygiene: The room hygiene was good, and swim caps are required for the pool. The only drawback was that the children's club restroom had an odor that spread to the activity area because the door was left open, which is not up to five-star standards.
Facilities: Overall good, nothing was broken. However, the TV is an older model and doesn't support screen mirroring.FromKRW 145,067

Having spent considerable time in the vicinity of the International Club, International Building, Japanese Embassy, Associated Press, and Ritan Park, I'm very familiar with this area. The hotel is strategically located just off Chang'an Avenue, at No. 21 Jianguomenwai Avenue, Chaoyang District, Beijing. It's situated in the heart of the CBD, adjacent to Chang'an Avenue and the Embassy District. Jianguomen subway station is a mere 7-minute walk away, and iconic landmarks like Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City are just a few blocks from the hotel. It also offers convenient access to vibrant shopping and entertainment hubs such as Guomao, Wangfujing, and Sanlitun. I myself spent nearly a decade working in the International Building.
Upon entering the lobby, its high ceilings and grand, pillarless design create a truly magnificent impression. The suites are thoughtfully laid out and exude an elegant, classic charm. A serene garden with a gentle flowing fountain enhances the overall sophisticated ambiance. Despite opening in 1997, the facilities are comprehensive, and the environment, cleanliness, and service all maintain a first-class standard. The standout feature is the unforgettable butler service; the personalized, one-on-one attention makes you feel right at home. The 24-hour comprehensive butler team provides exceptional service, anticipating and fulfilling every guest's need.
Our butlers, Jasmine, Parker, Alex, and Bradley, orchestrated a series of unique experiences, including the St. Regis's classic traditional ritual of champagne sabrage. This spectacular event took place in the gallery of the Danielli Italian Restaurant on the hotel's second floor, where guests collectively raised their glasses, savored exquisite champagne, and celebrated. The sabered champagne cork was then presented as a cherished keepsake. Dylan Zhao and Candie (灿灿) went above and beyond, waiting for our return even after we came back late from a football match at Workers' Stadium. As we opened the door, they were already there, ready to welcome us home with comforting warm honey-lemon water and hot peppermint Earl Grey tea, perfectly prepared for optimal flavor. Their handwritten cards were also a thoughtful touch, now treasured keepsakes. They truly made our St. Regis night wonderful, cozy, and unforgettable.
While there's so much more I wish to express, my feelings at this moment are truly beyond words, deeply etched in my heart. This unforgettable St. Regis experience will forever be etched in my memory. I look forward to returning on August 25, 2025. This was my second stay, and it was just as excellent as the first. Our butler, Tracy Zhang Xi, was incredibly responsive and provided thoughtful service. We initially had a different room than what we booked, but she promptly arranged a satisfactory change for us. She even helped us find an Ethernet cable and an HDMI cable, which was a huge plus.
The hot springs at Haiwan Banshan are built into the mountainside, and the beautiful scenery is a definite advantage. There are over 10 different types of pools, each with a great view. However, I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for extreme privacy, luxury, or a dedicated water play area for children.
The kids' play area at Haiwan Banshan is quite large. Among 5-star hotels in Beijing with hot springs, only Club Med, Badaling Jinyu, and Xishan Hot Spring Blue Parrot probably offer bigger and more entertaining options.
The suite was spacious, and the facilities were undeniably 5-star quality when compared to similar hotels. The only downside was the slightly higher price during holiday periods. The Ethernet port on the desk was fake; to get a wired connection, you had to use the port behind the bedroom TV, which was about 5 meters away. The butler could only find a 2-meter cable, which was a bit inconvenient for guests who need to work during their stay.
I didn't get to try the Bian stone sweat steaming at the wellness center as too many people had booked it.

As a mother traveling to Beijing with my child, I chose the Park Plaza, which had great reviews. And it definitely didn't disappoint.
1) The location is excellent. It's very close to Subway Line 8 (900 meters) and Line 5 (250 meters). Yet, it's not directly on a main road, so it's very quiet.
2) The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable.
3) Most importantly, the service was fantastic; everyone was very welcoming and enthusiastic, especially Feya and Wendy! My child and I were both very happy.
We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a suite. This meant I could work peacefully in the living room while my child slept in the bedroom at night.
4) The hotel also offers a buffet lunch and dinner for 68.8 RMB per person, and 48.8 RMB for children. This is incredibly good value for money. They have main courses, drinks, fruits, and more… Highly recommended!
5) The only minor drawback was… the hairdryer was an old model, which can take a while if you have thick hair. Other than that, everything was superb, and I would definitely stay here again!FromKRW 133,988

I brought my daughter here for New Year's Eve. First, I spent quite a while searching around Wangfujing and finally found a hotel with a good location, reasonable price, and free parking. We both love serviced apartments because they offer a living room and a simple kitchen. Check-in was a pleasant surprise; the room design was very interesting. It had a living room, a bedroom, a shower, and a large bathtub (though its placement was unique). There were also two bathrooms and a spacious closet. I noticed that the dining options weren't expensive here either, making it truly suitable as an apartment. The bedding was very comfortable, and the duvet thickness matched the room temperature. The large bathrobes were also soft and warm. The staff were exceptionally friendly; they added me on WeChat beforehand to ask if I had any special requests, and both check-in and check-out were very pleasant. If I had to pick a flaw, it would be whether the showerhead could be adjusted to the handheld one after cleaning. I hadn't planned on showering, but when I turned on the water, it came from the overhead showerhead, and my clothes got wet. Just got back from Beijing, and I can't wait to praise Wang Ran from the hotel's service center – truly excellent, with superb professional skills. Here's what happened: The day before yesterday, it snowed, and I suddenly had the urge to visit the Summer Palace in Beijing to see the snow. I was initially hesitant about going, so I called your hotel to inquire about check-in details. The person who answered was Wang Ran from the service center (I only learned her position and name later when I asked her). Wang Ran's service made me feel incredibly warm. She confidently explained the hotel's room situation and also informed me about Beijing's weather conditions and various transportation options to the Summer Palace. Her help immediately dispelled my hesitation, and I no longer wanted to inquire about any other hotels. Because of her service, I absolutely had to choose Shangri-La Hotel!
Wang Ran from the service center had a clear and gentle voice, and her opening remarks were polite and friendly, instantly alleviating the anxiety I felt due to my tight schedule. I had a lot of questions this time, ranging from room upgrade policies, breakfast issues, and wet/dry separation in the bathroom to transportation around the hotel and breakfast times. My questions were numerous and repetitive, but Wang Ran patiently listened without the slightest hint of perfunctory service. Throughout our conversation, she was clear-headed, responded accurately, and even re-confirmed my needs before ending the call to ensure nothing was missed.
This kind of proactive, detailed, and enthusiastic service far exceeded my expectations and made me look forward to my upcoming stay. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. Although there was a notice in the room about hotel maintenance, it didn't actually cause any inconvenience.
There were two things I wasn't too happy about. First, the soundproofing in the room wasn't great. Either that, or the kid next door was just incredibly loud. They were shouting in the afternoon, still shouting when I got back to the hotel after 11 PM, and then started again around 8 AM on Sunday – better than an alarm clock!
The other thing was that after finishing my meal in the room in the afternoon, I wanted to call for someone to pick up the trays. The call went to an automated customer service. I explained my request, and the AI said it understood. However, no one came to collect them until I was about to leave around 6 PM. I'm almost reluctant to leave a good review, because the experience was so fantastic that I wanted to keep this beautiful gem of a hotel a secret. But then I thought, it would be a shame to keep such a treasure hidden, so I sincerely recommend it to all my friends visiting Beijing! The hotel facilities are excellent, showcasing an old-school elegance and grandeur. The ancient buildings and gardens on-site offer a unique and unparalleled experience that can't be replicated or surpassed anywhere else. It's incredibly classical and serene, refined yet unpretentious, making for a very relaxing and comfortable, unrivaled stay! The hotel staff are super friendly, the breakfast is rich and delicious, and the afternoon tea and hotpot are also top-tier experiences worth trying. In short, everything is as pictured; what you see is what you get. There's nothing more to say, I'll definitely be returning to stay at this 'princely mansion' every time I come back, haha! Thanks to the new era, and thanks to everyone at Junwangfu Hotel. I absolutely love it!FromKRW 98,453

The quadrangle courtyard has a very strong positive vibe, and the scenery is beautiful. The Ming and Qing dynasty architecture really captures the essence of old Beijing. What I liked most was the private butler, Danika, who provided thoughtful service; even the kids loved her. Breakfast can be delivered to the room, which was an absolute treat. The room was spacious, giving the children plenty of room to play, and they could also enjoy the courtyard. Danika helped us with our luggage and thoughtfully prepared sun hats for the children, which were incredibly practical. Five-star recommendation!!!FromKRW 1,563,336

The room was clean and much better than I expected, offering great value for money. The front desk service was excellent; they promptly resolved any issues I had, which led me to extend my stay for another night. I rarely leave reviews, but this was the most satisfying stay I've had in Beijing.
