🥹 I really wanted to visit it!

These stunning installations, so much light — everything draws you in! Each hall is a unique form of art! But be prepared that you won't spend more than half an hour at the exhibition, even if you're taking photos. I spent about 10 minutes there, saw everything, and moved on.

Finding this gallery is quite a quest. It shows up differently on maps every time.

It's located in a shopping mall on the central pedestrian street. Landmark: large H&M letters. But the entrance to the mall is on the other side. Inside the mall — 3rd floor.

✨Shanghai Walking Guide|Local hidden gems to avoid crowds and get great shots!

🌆Must-visit landmarks (with secret photo spots)

▫️The Bund: Don’t squeeze onto the main viewing platform! Walk 10 minutes north along Zhongshan East 1st Road to Waibaidu Bridge. With the backdrop of international-style buildings, have a friend take photos from across the bridge. Snap the shutter when the river breeze lifts your clothes for a full vintage vibe (best atmosphere around 6 PM when the lights start to come on).
▫️Wukang Building: Avoid the crowds downstairs! Turn into the nearby "No. 393 Wukang Road" café. The second-floor terrace perfectly frames the entire building. Order a latte and sit by the window, combining street view and architecture, pretending you’re on a Paris street (beautiful light and shadows around 2 PM).
▫️Lujiazui: Skip the Shanghai World Financial Center! Head to the "Shanghai Tower 118th Floor Duoyun Book Courtyard," order some tea and sit by the window. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, you can capture the three iconic towers together. When clouds are low, it feels like working in the clouds (reservation required, weekends are busy, weekdays recommended).
▫️Yuyuan Road: Don’t just stroll the main street! Turn into "Yuyuanli Creative Park," where red brick walls are covered with ivy, vintage benches sit beside old Western-style houses. Wear a floral dress, sit there reading, and every photo looks like a French movie still (around noon, sunlight filters through leaves, creating healing light spots).

🍜Master the local flavors (with tips to avoid pitfalls)

▪️Must-try old restaurant: "Lanting Restaurant" for their fried shrimp! The shells are crispy, the sauce is sweet with a fresh taste, and paired with a bowl of plain noodles, it’s amazing (hidden in a small alley off Huaihai Middle Road, go right at 11 AM when it opens or you’ll wait an hour).
▪️Hidden snack gem: "Ada Scallion Pancake" must be ordered with egg! Freshly baked, crispy outside and soft inside, the scallion aroma mixed with egg fragrance is irresistible even if it’s hot (least crowded from 7 to 9 AM, avoid scalpers).
▪️Sweet tooth delight: "Shen Dacheng" double stuffed glutinous rice balls! Sesame filling mixed with red bean paste, soft and sticky rice that doesn’t stick to your teeth, paired with iced soy milk to cut the richness (Nanjing Road store is crowded, better to go to the "Yunnan South Road" branch, 5-minute queue).

🚇Transport & Pitfalls (learned the hard way)

❌Don’t take the sightseeing bus! 30 RMB per ride and stuck in traffic. Metro lines 11 and 2 cover all core areas. Use Alipay to get the "Metro Metropolis" QR code for super convenience.
❌Don’t buy the “Shanghai Story” scarves at the Bund! They’re marked up 3 times. For souvenirs, go to "First Food Store" where butterfly pastries and almond cakes are authentic old Shanghai flavors with transparent prices.
❌Don’t stay on Nanjing Road! It’s too noisy to sleep. Choose hotels near "Jing’an Temple," close to everywhere, and you can enjoy the Jing’an Kerry Centre night view.

💡Local secrets only locals know

▫️7-11’s "meat buns" are better than many breakfast shops! Soft skin and full filling, perfect for a quick, filling breakfast before rushing to the subway.
▫️Taking the ferry across the river costs only 2 RMB! From "Jinling East Road Ferry" to "Dongchang Road Ferry," a 10-minute ride with views of the Bund like a cruise ship (take it at sunset to see the sun reflecting on the river).
▫️Visiting the "Shanghai Museum" is free but tickets must be grabbed! Snatch them 3 days in advance at 8 PM on the official WeChat account to avoid queues. Don’t miss the large bronze tripod in the Bronze Gallery.

Shanghai Expo Tongsen Hotel

✨Hotel Guide
📍Great location, right at No. 55, Expo Avenue, Pudong New Area, Shanghai. Just a few steps out is Expo Park, where you can enjoy food, drinks, and entertainment all in one place. Going to the Mercedes-Benz Arena for a concert? You can stroll back to the hotel, so convenient! It's also easy to get to the Bund. We recommend combining your visit with Expo Park and the China Art Museum.

🚗Super convenient transportation, the subway station is nearby, within walking distance to the China Art Museum subway entrance. Getting to the city center is so easy!

📅 Check-in time is after 3:00 PM, check-out time is before 12:00 PM.

🍽 Breakfast is from 6:30 to 10:30 AM, semi-buffet style, featuring local specialties like soup dumplings, potstickers, and pan-fried buns, all delicious. If you want something special, the à la carte service can also satisfy you.

✨Highlights
✨Design is stunning, with colorful glass facades and Art Deco details in public areas. The lobby’s “Boy Gazing at the Moon” installation art is very artistic. Guest rooms start at 41㎡, with ceiling mirrors bringing in river views—brilliant design. The intelligent lighting system changes the atmosphere with the time of day.

✨Service warms your heart, with a coffee machine always available at the front desk, the first round of minibar items free, a wide variety of drinks and snacks, and staff who are great storytellers, with exclusive scripts about the artworks and cocktails.

✨Dining options are abundant. Tongsen Fish Restaurant offers Huaiyang cuisine where you can taste signature dishes like yellow croaker soup and salted pork with vegetable rice. The top-floor TOTS Tongding Bar boasts unbeatable night views of Lujiazui and serves special cocktails.

✨The view rooms are amazing. Rooms ending in 19 or 20 offer simultaneous views of the Lujiazui “Three-Piece Set” and the China Pavilion, with absolutely stunning scenery.

🇨🇳How much did a 3-day, 2-night trip to Shanghai, including Disneyland, cost?👀

You all know that China's visa waiver program has been extended for another year, right?
It's only a 2.5-hour flight from Incheon to Shanghai, making it easy to get there on the weekend. I'll tell you exactly how much my 3-day, 2-night trip, including Disneyland, cost!

▫️Shanghai 2-Night, 3-Day Trip Expenses (*Per Person)
❶ Airfare: ₩309,200 (✈️China Eastern Airlines)
❷ Accommodation: ₩134,333 (🏨2 Nights at Metropolo Classic Shanghai YMCA)
❸ Food: ₩84,843
(Jeomdoduk, Hunjiuyiqian Lamb Skewers, Disney Snacks, Cafe, etc.)
❹ Disneyland: ₩174,541
• Admission: ₩95,700
• Early Entry: ₩41,400
• Zootopia DPA: ₩37,400
❺ Transportation: ₩84,875 (Airport Bus, DiDi ride for the entire trip)
❻ Other: ₩49,504 (Souvenirs)
💰 Total: approximately ₩840,000!

Taxis are relatively inexpensive in China, so even using DiDi for the entire trip wasn't too expensive. The more people you're traveling with, the more cost-effective it will be to use DiDi. Since Chinese subways require baggage checks, DiDi is convenient in many ways!

Shanghai is a cost-effective destination for a three-day, two-night trip, including Disneyland! With Zootopia 2 released and the visa-free period extended, why not plan a trip to Shanghai?

Great news for those traveling to China!

You no longer need to fill out paper forms upon arrival – you can now apply for your arrival card **completely online** before your trip or during your trip.

✅How it works (very easy!)

You can fill out the card in one of the following ways:

→Via an app or mini-program: Search for "移民局12367" in WeChat or Alipay (copy and paste the name into the search).

→Via a QR code: Scan the code provided by your airline or posted at the airport.

The app is available in Chinese and English.

The process is very simple – follow the on-screen instructions to upload a photo of your passport (most of the information will be filled in automatically, but be sure to check) and manually enter your flight and arrival city information.

Airline or airport staff will be happy to assist you if you have any questions.

💡 When can I start filling out the form?

→Before departure: immediately after check-in—many airlines will remind you about this.

→On board: everything you need is available on onboard screens and special instruction cards—fill it out in just a couple of minutes.

→At the airport: scan the QR code or use the smart kiosks (paper forms are still available if needed).

Arrived → straight to passport control → faster security!

💡 Especially convenient at Shanghai airports (PVG and SHA)

Shanghai is China's leader in international arrivals (more than 4.9 million people have already passed through the city's airports this year). The new system makes entry even easier.

💡 Helpful tips for tourists

- Fill out the form on your phone before departure—it only takes 2-3 minutes.
- The system works with visa-free transit and reciprocal visa waiver agreements.
- Save time and eliminate unnecessary hassle upon arrival!

Welcome to China—it's now even easier! 🌆✨

Is the damp cold of winter in the Magic City hard to bear? Escape the city with your kids on the weekend—I found a warm "energy recharge station"—Shanghai Sheshan Shimao Le Méridien Hotel. It’s not just a hotel but more like a large indoor and outdoor family playground surrounded by forests and lakes, solving the problem of entertaining kids in one stop, so you can have fun even in winter!

🏨 Stay in a forest view room:
We booked the "Deluxe Lake View Room," which is spacious and bright, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Sheshan and Moon Lake, offering a wide view. The room is equipped with a comfortable sofa and a work area, and most importantly, underfloor heating! You can run barefoot as soon as you enter, instantly dispelling the winter chill, and the baby can play freely on the floor, which is very reassuring.

🎡 Winter fun highlights: indoor playground + heated pool

Lego-themed children’s playground: The hotel partners with Lego to offer a colorful indoor playground. Although not huge, the brick wall, slide, and soft mat area are enough for little kids to play for half a day. There are regular Lego teacher-led building activities.

Indoor heated pool: A must-give five-star rating! The water temperature is kept very comfortable, and there is a warm water massage pool nearby. The changing room has a sauna, so after swimming, you can steam and feel completely refreshed. The pool has a great view and is protected from wind and sun.

Outdoor adventure: When the weather is good, the hotel’s back garden leads directly to Moon Lake Sculpture Park (tickets sold separately). The park has large lawns, sand pits, and giant sculptures where you can let the kids run and jump while breathing fresh air.

🍽️ Food and convenience:
The hotel’s "Lemei" Chinese restaurant serves good local dishes. We ordered braised pork and scallion oil noodles, which were very tasty. The buffet breakfast is rich in variety, with made-to-order egg rolls and noodle stations. It’s worth mentioning that the hotel is adjacent to Shanghai Shimao Elf City Theme Park (Deep Pit Secret Realm). You can see the Deep Pit Hotel from the room and walk there easily, making it convenient to plan combined visits.

🏮 Nearby wild luxury cultural experience:
For a more traditional and tranquil experience, I recommend driving 15 minutes to "Shanghai Zhuli Juse Hot Spring Hotel." Located in Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, it features a Japanese-style hot spring inn with private bath rooms. You can enjoy soaking in the hot springs amid the paddling boats and lantern lights of the ancient town, experiencing a rustic charm completely different from the modern vacation vibe of Sheshan.

📌 My travel tips:

When booking on Trip.com, look for packages that include park tickets or dining vouchers.

The hotel covers a large area, so walking from the lobby to rooms or the pool may take some time; you can ask the concierge for electric cart service.

Outdoor activities in winter depend on the weather, but the indoor facilities are more than enough to let kids burn off energy.

At Shanghai Sheshan Shimao Le Méridien Hotel, we enjoyed a warm and fulfilling weekend away from the hustle and bustle. It offers both city convenience and vacation leisure, making it the perfect winter "mini-vacation" destination for families in the Magic City.
