I really enjoyed my visit to Shanghai Disneyland. My advice: be sure to buy at least one or three VIP passes for the rides, as the lines for regular tickets are long, lasting 1.5-2 hours (even though we went on a Monday). If you have the opportunity and want to see all the events (besides the rides, there are shows at different times in different locations), buy two-day tickets. It's worth looking for and reserving seats for the evening show (in front of the castle) in advance.

This wasn't just a trip to the amusement park—it was a fully immersive experience of magic. Even the approach to the castle, the largest and most majestic of all Disney castles, was breathtaking. It looks like it stepped right out of a movie, only even more beautiful in real life! I definitely recommend it: wear comfortable shoes, download the park's app (it shows the wait time), and plan your day, but be sure to leave time to just stroll around and soak up the atmosphere. Shanghai Disneyland is a modern masterpiece worth visiting at least once in a lifetime! ❤️

My soles are on fire... 20,000-25,000 steps, and a 90-120 minute wait is a must without a DPA... The food at the restaurants is terrible, so I gave up on eating there... The restaurants outside Disney World are better, but you have to walk again to get out... It is massive. Be prepared for physical exhaustion to enjoy the continental scale, vastness, and refreshing views... Make sure to prepare for the 9 PM night show in advance. Once it gets dark, Disneyland transforms completely.

This was my first overseas trip with my 6-year-old son, and it was the best. I bought a 2-day pass, and on the first day, I walked 20,000 steps and my soles practically disappeared. The DPA pass is essential; you reach 20,000 steps just by riding six rides. Definitely rent a stroller as well. Kids simply cannot walk all that. We watched the performances/shows on the second day. On the second day, waiting in line for just two rides took 120 minutes each. I highly recommend doing the DPA pass for two days.

3 Tips for Getting into Shanghai Disney Before Opening Time

1. Aim to arrive 15–30 minutes before the official opening time

Shanghai Disneyland

Even on days when the official opening time is 9:00 AM, try arriving about 30 minutes early. If you read reviews from other visitors, it seems that on some days, the gates open 15 to 30 minutes ahead of the official schedule.

The reason for the early opening is to ease congestion around the entrance. It's likely a safety measure. Because of this, I recommend arriving 30 minutes before the official opening time. Please note that there are no announcements on the official website or social media when the park opens early.

2. Purchase an Early Park Entry Pass

Shanghai Disneyland Early Park Entry Pass

Take advantage of the Shanghai Disneyland Early Park Entry Pass, which lets you enter the park one hour before general guests. It’s a paid service (starting from 159 RMB), but it allows you to enjoy the Zootopia area and popular attractions at a leisurely pace before the crowds arrive.

In particular, the Zootopia area, which is exclusive to Shanghai, is less crowded first thing in the morning. You'll be able to take your time and snap some Instagram-worthy photos. If you don't want to waste any time, it's definitely worth considering. You can purchase it through the Shanghai Disneyland app or the official website.

3. Stay at an official hotel

Stay at an official hotel like the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel or the Toy Story Hotel. Guests staying at official hotels enjoy the "Early Park Access" perk, which lets you enter the park 30 minutes before the general public.

You'll be able to experience popular attractions like "Soaring: Fantastic Flight" in just 10–20 minutes, compared to the usual 60–90 minute wait. The hotel's location is also fantastic, as you can walk right to the park! It's the perfect place to stay for a special trip, like an anniversary!

👉Pro Tip: For a convenient stay, look for Shanghai hotel or hotels near Shanghai Disneyland in advance to secure the best rates.
