Located in a prime downtown spot, it's convenient for getting anywhere. Downstairs is very lively with restaurants, a food street, and a shopping complex all in one. During weekdays in summer, there were many foreign guests... and quite a few elderly Chinese too. The front desk often had queues for check-in, and there were always people waiting for taxis outside. Business was really good, yet the room offered excellent value for money! Thanks for the free upgrade to a deluxe suite~ It was newly renovated. I was on a business trip and decided to bring my mom along so she could relax and enjoy herself. **Facilities** They offer a table tennis room, a swimming pool, and a gym. No robots for food delivery pick-up though. **Hygiene** Clean. **Environment** The overall environment is good. The old five-star hotel is very well maintained; it doesn't feel old or dated. The room was newly renovated, but the sense of space wasn't huge, and the bathroom was a bit small. **Service** The service attitude was excellent and professional.

Hotel 🏨 Location: Excellent! It's right next to the New World Mall and directly connected to it, which is incredibly convenient. Dining, watching movies, catching a stand-up show, and taking the subway are all easily accessible. Service: Extremely polite. This five-star international hotel is very attentive; staff always greet you, and the service is spot-on. They also help with luggage when you enter and leave. Special thanks: To Joe from the concierge team for helping me hail a taxi and even loading my considerable luggage into the car. His service was warm and thorough.

The hotel's environment and service were excellent. They promptly helped with luggage. As I'm pregnant, they kindly upgraded me to a family room for free, which I was very happy with. The front desk staff were very welcoming, especially Violet, who had a bright smile and provided great service. Thumbs up! 👍 I'll definitely stay here again next time, highly recommended.

This is a serviced apartment with a fantastic location. It's right across the street from Xintiandi and the subway station, making transportation incredibly convenient. There are tons of shopping malls and restaurants nearby, perfect for those who love to shop. The hotel staff were warm and friendly, always ready to help. Upon check-in, I received a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was very spacious and included a kitchen and living room. It was fully equipped with an oven, microwave, induction hob, sterilizer, and washing machine (though I didn't get to use them all). The 2-meter king-size bed had a mattress that was just right – not too soft, not too firm – and the high-floor street view was also excellent. On the downside, the bathroom facilities were a bit dated, with a non-smart toilet and a seat without soft-close hinges. The sink also drained slowly. Plus, there were some oversights in the cleaning; I actually found a T-shirt left by a previous guest on the back of a chair! I only stayed for one day, so I didn't get to experience the other hotel amenities. Overall, I would still recommend this hotel!

Traveling with my child for the weekend, I booked the Marriott Hotel in advance through Ctrip. The hotel's location is superb, just a few minutes' walk from Nanjing Road. The facilities are complete, and the room was clean and comfortable. Even though we had an unexpected encounter with a 'white dolphin' (a metaphor for a minor inconvenience or surprise), it didn't affect our mood at all. Gazing at the Oriental Pearl Tower through the rain-streaked window from our room was also a unique experience. The hotel even provided complimentary welcome fruits, small gifts, and other extra surprises, which was incredibly thoughtful. Honestly, most hotel hardware is pretty much on par these days; it's the little details in service that truly leave a lasting impression. All in all, it was a very satisfying stay.

We have booked more nights initially, but our plan was disrupted by the typhoon unfortunately. Kudos to hotel to be willing to accommodate to our booking twice. Room is too dim for my liking, but housekeeping staff is helpful to my request. Convenient location that our favourite 莱莱小笼包 and 双喜甜品 is just a corner away. You just need to head down n the whole shopping street is right in front

Service: Before checking in, I read many reviews complaining about the check-in staff. I definitely experienced it myself. All the staff avoided eye contact; it was hard to find someone to help with check-in, and everyone seemed busy. There was a young man near the elevator entrance who suggested not standing there. He would just lower his head and walk away when he saw guests; I don't know what purpose it served to have someone standing there. The bellhop at the luggage storage was enthusiastic, but I suggest increasing the refrigerated storage space and training staff. They shouldn't advise guests to carry their refrigerated items with them when checking out, especially on such hot days; it's better to leave them in the air-conditioned hotel. The staff at the entrance who helped with luggage and opened car doors were polite, and their service was appreciated. Some of the hosts at the breakfast restaurant were very warm and friendly. Others were not, and some were only friendly towards Japanese guests. The chefs at the cooking stations were all excellent, and the food was delicious. Facilities: Older hotels always have shortcomings in their hardware. As soon as I exited the elevator on the guest floor, I smelled dust, and there was a musty smell in the room. The shower equipment was old and difficult to use, the washbasin was quite low, and the small magnifying mirror for makeup/removing makeup was broken; either you had to hold it up very high to see your face, or it would fall down and still not work. This can't be changed in the short term, so it needs renovation. During renovations, I suggest not installing mirrors facing the bed again. I slept very poorly at night. Cleanliness: The cleanliness was much better than I expected. There was no dust in the nooks and crannies, which was a pleasant surprise. Noise: The room was very close to the elevator, but surprisingly, there was not much noise, which was acceptable. However, there was a regular rumbling sound, which I suspect was the subway passing by; it was very noticeable. The sound disappeared after the subway stopped at night and reappeared in the morning. Overall, it was not a very pleasant experience, but I've tried it. I won't choose this hotel again.

I highly recommend the Pullman Shanghai Jing An. My stay in the Deluxe King Room was perfect, deserving a full five-star rating. The hotel is located in the heart of Jing An, within walking distance of the metro station, making it incredibly convenient to get to major commercial areas. The room was spacious and elegant, the bed soft and comfortable, and the entire room was spotlessly clean with excellent soundproofing. The front desk service was attentive and efficient, housekeeping was meticulous and thorough, and the breakfast offered a rich variety of delicious options. The overall ambiance is light luxury and grand, making it perfectly suited for business or leisure travelers. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

Facilities: The hotel's overall facilities are well-maintained. The lobby is elegant, clean, and impressive. The rooms are well-designed, featuring a smart voice control system for curtains, lights, and air conditioning – a true blessing for the lazy! There are two types of elevators. From the main entrance, you can take an elevator to the 11th floor where the front desk and the breakfast restaurant (right opposite the elevator) are located. After checking in, you'll need to use a different set of elevators, which are floor-specific, to get to your room. Cleanliness: The hotel rooms are clean and tidy. The breakfast was very rich, and I even saw many beautiful foreign guests. The executive lounge on the 44th floor offered a wide variety of delicious cakes. Definitely lives up to five-star hotel standards. Environment: The hotel is very close to People's Square subway station, making it incredibly convenient to get to Joy City Jing'an, Jing'an Temple, Jinqiao International Commercial Plaza, and the airport. From the hotel room, you can enjoy the stunning views of the Bund both morning and evening. After dinner, you can take a stroll along the pedestrian street to the Bund. There are many famous snack shops nearby, like Lailai Xiaolong, and restaurants such as Longyu and Warehouse No. 3, which are a must-try. Service: The staff are well-trained and very enthusiastic. The greeters proactively helped with luggage and took it to the elevator. The hotel is very responsive to guests' needs, even offering an upgrade, truly embodying five-star service. The complimentary fruit was especially delicious. I will definitely come back to this hotel again.

I booked a hotel in Jing'an District for my business trip and really got a feel for the 'Magic City'. **Environment:** It's right next to Taikoo Hui, with the world's largest Starbucks and the LV 'Big Boat' store, plus tons of restaurants – super convenient. If you walk right out of the hotel, you'll find the Natural History Museum with a big lawn, perfect for an evening stroll and enjoying the cool air. **Room:** I was surprised to find such a spacious room, especially being a suite, in the city center. It even had an induction cooktop and a washer-dryer combo, and all the kitchenware! Much more comprehensive facilities than a typical hotel. **Hygiene:** The room was very clean, and the bed was really comfortable. **Breakfast:** Very refined, a mix of Chinese and Western options, felt like an executive lounge. **Service:** The front office staff were excellent. The lobby isn't huge, but there were guests from all over the world, probably all here to visit Shanghai. Great for business travel, I'll definitely come back next time.

The room was elegantly decorated and spotlessly clean, and opening the window offered a unique view of the cliff face. They proactively communicated with us about our needs even before check-in and provided helpful guidance throughout our stay. Any issues we had were addressed quickly and efficiently, and they were always ready to fulfill any request. They even proactively informed us about the hotel's activities and dining options – a testament to their exceptional attention to detail. Here's a review for one of the top hotels on my Shanghai staycation favorites list! I've been to Aranya many times, and this time I came to escape a typhoon 🌀 so I didn't take many new photos. I'll use my previous comments instead. 📍 I was upgraded to an Executive room. The front desk arranged for check-in on the 10th floor. The entire hotel has a subtle, calming fragrance. Coupled with the crystal-shaped lights everywhere, a sense of healing naturally arises. The check-in process was very smooth; typically, it includes a hand-wiping tea ceremony, a mood/constitution assessment, and a sound bath, emphasizing a sense of ritual and healing right from arrival. 🛌 The room facilities are complete. If there's a bathtub, you can try a herbal bath sachet. Some rooms offer views of Suzhou Creek. 🌟 Both in the morning and at night, small snacks (the truffle chocolates and nuts are especially good!) are delivered to your door, along with refillable beverages tailored to your constitution. The hotel also offers various wellness classes at different times (yoga, sound baths, sleep recovery, etc.). 🚗 The underground parking is very convenient.

The entire staff was incredibly kind and attentive, offering considerate service without being overbearing. It's the perfect escape from the city hustle for a short, relaxing getaway. ♨️Shanghai Hyakumangoku | The best healing spot after Disneyland. Choosing this Japanese hot spring hotel for a break after a long day of walking around Disneyland was such a smart decision. The overall design is a complete Japanese garden, with stone lanterns, a dry landscape garden, and wooden architecture, creating an amazing atmosphere perfect for casual photos. The location is very convenient, with a free shuttle bus to and from Disneyland, and Bicester Village just across the road, making shopping and dining effortless. Upon check-in, yukata are provided. The public hot spring area includes both indoor and outdoor baths. The water is溫潤, and a soak completely washes away fatigue; soaking in the outdoor bath at night is especially relaxing. The rooms are clean and quiet, with soft lighting, and some room types come with private hot springs, offering great privacy. The Japanese breakfast offers a rich variety, and the welcome wagashi (Japanese confections) add a nice touch of ritual to the details.

The hotel room facilities are good, with everything that should be there. The smoking area outside is also very beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is very good, it is self-service, and there are freshly made noodles to eat. If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like this

The breakfast is small, but charming, and can be suitable to most tastes. You can request the private hot springs to be started for most of the day, there is a tea room, and kayaking for an extra fee (100RMB). They also provide free transportation to Shanghai Disneyland upon request (15-20min away), but not return; you can also arrange airport pickup from PVG. The hotel is well-located, right in the middle of the pedestrian street. We stayed in a standard room, but after our flight was canceled due to a typhoon, we extended our stay for another day and were moved to an upgraded room. The room was fantastic, we were probably lucky. It had two rooms: a living room with a sofa and a magnificent view of the pedestrian street. Besides a tea set, there was also a coffee machine. There was also a large, separate bathroom. It's an ideal option for a family with a child. The breakfasts are very good, with options for both children and adults. Finally got to experience the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, and it was fantastic: 1. **Prime Location:** Absolutely the best spot on the Bund. You can step right out to the Bund morning or night. 2. **Top-notch Service:** The lobby was full of very courteous staff who were always ready to help. If they caught your eye, they'd offer a friendly smile. The doormen outside, as soon as they saw your room card, would warmly say, 'Welcome back!' They'd also help with luggage, both getting in and out of the car, making you feel truly at home. The air conditioning and the thick duvet made the room temperature uncomfortable. I called the front desk at 2 AM, and someone quickly came with an engineer to check the AC. Although the problem wasn't solved, their prompt response was commendable. While I was on my phone at breakfast, a waiter proactively and thoughtfully brought me a phone stand. During checkout, they even asked about my stay experience. Overall, this level of service is rare; it made me feel like a valued guest and truly enhanced my Shanghai trip. I will definitely choose the Waldorf Astoria again.

Huaihai Road Area Shanghai|0.95km from downtown
I’ve been a loyal guest at Andaz Xintiandi Shanghai for quite some time, drawn back again and again by the genuinely warm service, attention to detail, and the way the team always makes me feel recognised and valued. Unfortunately, this stay was a sharp departure from everything I’ve come to love about the hotel, solely because of one check-in experience that left a very bitter taste. I had noted in advance during booking that I would prefer a high-floor corner room – not a demand, simply a preference that in the past has often been thoughtfully accommodated when availability allows. Upon arrival, I approached the reception and was assisted by Iris. I handed over my passport, and she confirmed the length of my stay. When I politely asked if a corner room might be possible, her response was cold and curt: she told me I had booked a regular king room, that she would not upgrade me, and that if I wanted such a room I should pay more. No smile, no warmth, no attempt to soften the refusal. It was less what she said and more how she said it – she made me feel embarrassed, almost as if I were being put in my place for even asking, as though booking a standard room somehow meant I couldn’t afford better. At a hotel of this calibre, I don’t think any guest should be made to feel that way. Still taken aback, I was then asked whether I wanted a room near the elevator or not. Already unhappy with the interaction, I said it didn’t matter. She then assigned me what can only be described as the worst possible room – directly next to the elevator on the 16th floor. When I saw the location, I was genuinely shocked. I went straight back down and told her I didn’t want to sleep next to the elevator, and she eventually moved me to a higher floor. Throughout the entire process, there was not a single smile, no “enjoy your stay” – nothing that even remotely resembled hospitality. I left the desk feeling like an inconvenience. It’s worth mentioning that based on the room rates and availability that day, the hotel was absolutely not fully booked, so this wasn’t a case of simply having no better rooms to offer. It felt like a deliberate lack of care, and it stung particularly because it came from a hotel where I’m used to staff remembering my preferences and quietly making each long stay a little more comfortable – not because I expect a free upgrade, but because that thoughtfulness is what makes a regular guest feel truly welcome. A standard room has always been perfectly fine; it’s the attitude and the willingness to accommodate small preferences that made me appreciate this place so much. This time, that spirit was completely absent at check-in. What makes this all the more frustrating is that every single other staff member I encountered – and there were many, too many to name – was excellent, friendly, and professional, just as I’ve always known them to be. One day during my stay, I had lunch at the lobby bar, and both the food and service were wonderful. On my departure day, I didn’t even bother with a formal checkout; I simply handed my key to the lady at the reception desk and left. The doorman was, as ever, kind and exceptionally helpful with my luggage. These are the people who reminded me why I keep coming back. I really do hope the hotel takes this feedback to heart. One person’s attitude at the front desk can undo months of goodwill built by an otherwise outstanding team. I’ll return, because I know what this hotel is truly capable of, but I sincerely hope my next welcome feels like a welcome again.

The hotel's location is excellent, and cleanliness wasn't an issue. However, the facilities had some significant drawbacks. The bathroom door was very problematic; the toilet and shower shared the same glass door, which was extremely difficult to slide and very inconvenient (as shown in the picture). There were too few power outlets, making charging devices a hassle. The light switches weren't clearly marked, and the night light shone directly into your eyes. Regarding service, the younger male front desk staff member was rude and unprofessional. When I checked in, I wasn't the only guest, and he was impatient and impolite with everyone, not using any basic pleasantries. He also didn't inform me about any of the hotel's facilities; I had to find the laundry room myself later. At one point, a hotel call came in to the female staff member opposite him. She wasn't sure about the situation, hung up, and then asked the male staff member, who directly mocked the guest who had called for inquiries – that was completely out of line. He also made a point of pretending to be busy with other things (even though guests could see his screen and he clearly wasn't busy) before grudgingly responding to guest requests. Although the hotel's physical amenities aren't a major issue, I will not be staying here again due to the service attitude. Being next to a university, I'm sure they won't miss one guest.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) I stayed at Moyu Movie Hotel Shanghai for 7 nights, and I had an excellent experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. They even accepted my Taobao packages, which made my stay much more convenient. The housekeeping service was outstanding. My room was cleaned every day without me having to request it. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. I especially loved the modern automatic toilet, and the shampoo and body wash smelled wonderful. Another great feature was the free self-service laundry, and they even provided free laundry detergent, which was a huge bonus for a longer stay. The location is also very convenient. The hotel is close to the MRT station, making it easy to get around Shanghai. It is also only about a 15-minute walk to the LV The Place (LV Ship), which is a great spot to visit. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my stay. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely choose Moyu Movie Hotel Shanghai again when I visit Shanghai. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located place to stay.

The Jiayu Hotel is right next to Jiaxuan, essentially two types of accommodations under one brand. Jiayu is more like an apartment-style hotel, which is a great option if you're traveling with children or elderly family members. You can choose a suite with a kitchen, complete with an induction cooktop, range hood, and dishwasher.
