The room had excellent natural light, and the housekeeping was meticulous with no unpleasant odors. The mattress was just right – not too soft, not too firm. Check-in at the front desk was quick and thoughtful. The water pressure in the bathroom was stable. Overall, it offered outstanding value for money and convenient access. Very satisfied. 076.

This is our second time choosing this hotel. We met Trista, who was so sweet! She helped upgrade my child's breakfast and even prepared cookies for them when we checked in. The service here truly makes you feel at home. I love this place, mainly because it's incredibly convenient. This time, I chose a stay that included breakfast, and I don't regret it at all. There were so many options, and everything was delicious. Right next to the hotel lobby, there's a plaza with a supermarket, McDonald's, and Luckin Coffee. Cross the street, and you'll find tons of great food. Turn another corner, and you're on Nanjing Road, Shanghai's most walkable pedestrian street, with the biggest Pop Mart, Lego store, and M&M's chocolate store. It's so convenient! If you get tired, you can always go back to the hotel to rest before heading out to explore more.

Belonging to the Okura Hotels group, the cleanliness is top-notch by domestic standards. The location is excellent – it's quietly situated yet right next to a subway station where three lines converge. As for service, the parking attendant was quite impatient. When I asked how to reserve a PMO parking spot, he dismissively said it wasn't his concern, which was a bit much. There's definitely a gap compared to Okura hotels in Japan in this regard. Although the facilities are 36 years old, they are well-maintained, but the signs of age are inevitably present.

Fantastic! Even though there is a change in management, there has been no decline in service. Lilly Li was superb at check-in; she was thorough and fast, allowing me to get to my room and sleep ASAP after 27 hours of travelling! It was also great to note that my preferences were remembered - even despite the management change. Breakfast was charming as the chef brought the spirit of Chinese New Year to our plates with creative steamed buns and expanded Chinese fare. My staying here will continue as long as the tradition of excellence continues!

The room was nice and quite spacious! We arrived very late on the first day, and the air conditioning felt a bit weak, but everything else was good afterward. The balcony wasn't big, but the view was lovely. There's no exhaust fan in the bathroom, so the ventilation isn't great. However, the cleanliness was excellent. When we checked out, we passed by a room that had just been vacated and saw a cleaning lady meticulously cleaning the floor, which explains why my son's white socks weren't dirty even after walking barefoot on the floor. The front desk staff were also very friendly. Breakfast offered a good variety and everything tasted great, and the location was excellent. The complimentary travel photography session produced some fantastic shots. I'd likely choose this hotel again next time!

The hotel's location is excellent, and the staff are very welcoming. It's just a 10-minute walk to Waibaidu Bridge and The Bund. Taxis to Jing'an Temple and Raffles City are also very quick. There are plenty of local eateries within walking distance at the Binjiang Commercial Center. The room was very clean, and the shower and toilet were in separate, convenient spaces. All toiletries were provided, and the room was cleaned daily and very quiet. Breakfast offered a great variety, and the orange water in the lobby was a nice touch. Our family had a wonderful stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel Shanghai Hyland. You truly cannot beat the location! Right outside the door is Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, making it incredibly easy to step out for shopping and dining with the family. For quick snacks and essentials, there is a very convenient convenience store right on the other side of the property. Plus, the Metro station is only about two blocks away—a very easy, flat, and walkable distance, even if you are managing bags or traveling with kids. The room itself was spotless and well-maintained. After a long day of walking around Shanghai, we always appreciated coming back to a room where the air conditioning was nice and cool. The bathroom was fully stocked with a complete set of amenities, so we didn't have to worry about missing any essentials. The daily breakfast buffet offered a great variety to start the morning. There was a fantastic selection of fresh breads, several coffee machines to keep the parents caffeinated, and an impressive mix of local Chinese cuisine and American classics. Tucked away at the end, you'll find the popular egg station, right next to the meatloaves and hot dim sum plus noodles. There was even a dedicated Korean station, which was a unique touch. The breakfast food is delicious, but the menu doesn't vary much from day to day. If you are staying for a week or longer like we did, it can feel a bit repetitive. We wished they would rotate the choices a bit more. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. Between the unbeatable location, clean rooms, and extensive breakfast options, it’s a highly recommended, stress-free base for families visiting Shanghai!

I’ve stayed at the Westin Bund Center a couple of times now. It’s a great choice if you wanna show off to visitors. The views are lovely (even if you don’t get to see the bund). My room is spacious, clean, and the amenities are very good. I like the breakfast atmosphere & how large the hotel feels. The service is good. There always someone there to help you. The location is close enough to walk to the Bund, East Nanjing Road, and Yu Garden. It’s a great spot if you don’t have a lot of time in Shanghai & need to see some highlights.

Lujiazui Area Shanghai|2.51km from downtown
The location is fantastic, just a short walk to Lujiazui Binjiang, offering splendid views of the sunset and the Bund. The Pujiang Building was built in 1998, and the Zijin Building in 2005. I stayed in the Zijin Building this time, but it felt very old-fashioned. There's no sound system, no smart toilet, and although there are many movies on TV, the color and picture quality are quite poor. The hairdryer is also very old and slow. I specifically checked out the gyms in both the Pujiang and Zijin buildings. They're similar in size, with very vintage equipment, though there are minor differences. The equipment is packed in tightly, but you can still get a good workout. Some machines, however, have exposed wires. Breakfast runs from 6 AM to 10:30 AM (till 11 AM on weekends). There are a lot of foreigners, and while the variety is extensive, it wasn't quite to my taste. Replenishing dishes was a bit slow at times. I feel the price doesn't match the outdated facilities, but the location truly makes up for it. I hope they renovate soon, especially the bedside outlets, hairdryer, and bathroom.

A great hotel for kids! For Children's Day, I chose the Intercontinental Wonderland Shanghai for my granddaughter. The hotel has both indoor and outdoor play areas perfect for young children. Hidden in the city, the Japanese Zen garden at Yuyado Hatoniwa offers a DIY perfume blending experience that cures all fatigue.🌿 The serene and elegant Japanese-style space, paired with a tranquil Karesansui (dry landscape) garden, creates an incredible atmosphere. The instructor was gentle and patient, explaining the fragrance layers. With a complete selection of top, middle, and base notes, including woody, floral, fresh tea, and Zen-inspired herbal scents, I slowly blended, let it settle, and sealed my own unique niche perfume. Every breath was filled with a gentle aroma, instantly soothing away any anxious feelings. Slowing down to experience the fusion of fragrance and Japanese aesthetics, and then blending after a private onsen bath, made the ritual feel perfect. The finished perfume has a subtle and sophisticated scent that lingers, bringing home a full sense of vacation and healing. The surroundings are very quiet and the environment is elegant! The room was very satisfying! The front desk staff proactively upgraded our service! Every staff member has a genuine and positive service attitude, which is fantastic! Whenever we had a question, someone was there to help, which was really great! When we couldn't find the restaurant, the uncle cleaning at the entrance immediately became our guide and led us right to the restaurant door! When we locked our room card inside while at the hot springs, the hot spring staff immediately contacted someone to open the door for us. Upon check-out, we even received a thoughtful farewell gift! The hotel room facilities are good, with everything that should be there. The smoking area outside is also very beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is very good, it is self-service, and there are freshly made noodles to eat. If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like this

I visited Qianyun after looking at dozens of places in the area. I wanted to be away from typical city area, have a bathtub and nice outdoor area, and with easy access to Shanghai Disneyland. Qianyun met all those requirements and more! The location was immediately very serene and surrounded by forest, but still easy to access lots of waimai food delivery options. They were also very kind and proactive about sharing information about local restaurants and activities, and provide a breakfast and evening fruit every day. They offer free car transport to Disneyland, and I was excited to use this service but I ended up enjoying my time at the hotel so much that I opted to stay and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere instead! The hotel pets are so friendly - within five minutes the little cat Banban was on my lap and purring. The room itself is decorated very nicely with all the amenities you need. The bathtub inside is very comfortable and I loved the outdoor hot spring tub as well. The attention to hygiene is very highly emphasized and I was impressed with how clean and luxurious everything felt. I will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone hoping to have a convenient getaway from the city, or who would like to be near to Disneyland Resort while also experiencing a more peaceful area and for a good economical value and high quality service! The Bund Area Shanghai|1.78km from downtown
Every time I come to Shanghai, I head straight for Disneyland. This time, after Disneyland, I decided to explore Shanghai a bit. I booked the Peace Hotel by the Bund. When I arrived, I was feeling a bit motion sick, my face was pale. They didn't have any rooms, and the staff told me I could upgrade for 1700 to a family connecting room with a living area, so I immediately upgraded. The room wasn't ready yet, so we went to a smaller room first. My child wanted to open presents but we didn't have scissors. A staff member happened to come by with something, so I asked her if she had scissors. She said, 'Go downstairs and ask the front desk, we don't have them here,' and then just left. I remember many hotels would say, 'I'll bring them up for you, and you can return them to me after you use them, or I'll take them away,' or 'I'm sorry, we don't have them here.' This person's service attitude was really terrible. No matter how good the front desk service is, it can't make up for these 'bad apples' being so annoying. Her way of speaking was stiff, it really spoiled such a high-class hotel. I later went downstairs to the front desk to borrow them and returned them. The front desk staff were quite nice. The hotel's toiletries smell great. I asked a young man at the hotel entrance, and he said it was a French brand, but he didn't tell me the name, and I can't find it. The environment is also very good, the room is clean and tidy. The hotel's food is also decent. The bread and waffles are delicious. I recommend changing the scallion pancakes; they were cold, oily, and hard when I got them, impossible to bite. That's all for now. I hope for new surprises next time I visit.

Hygiene: The housekeeping auntie was very meticulous in cleaning our room, and the manager even double-checked to ensure everything was up to standard. Environment: The hotel environment is quite good, especially the evening atmosphere at the lobby bar with live music. I've stayed at many luxury hotels that boast 'butler service,' but the experience at J Hotel Shanghai Tower still left a deep impression on me. Its core strength isn't just having a butler, but rather the butler's proactive, discreet, and perfectly timed service. This stay was in a Grand King Room, directly overlooking the bend of the Huangpu River. The moment I drew back the curtains, the Lujiazui 'three-piece set' (referring to its iconic skyscrapers) and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower were right at my feet. During the day, I watched the clouds drift by; at night, I saw the city lights twinkle. I could even enjoy the Bund's night view from the bathtub – this 'god's-eye view' is truly hard to describe! The butler service deserves a special shout-out! From the front desk to room service, responses were incredibly swift. A special thanks to butler Eve Xiang, who not only proactively contacted me beforehand to inquire about my arrival needs but also presented a lovely welcome gift. She patiently introduced the hotel's art pieces and design philosophy, making me feel truly at home. The room faced the Bund, allowing me to watch the sunrise and sunset from bed. Waking up in the morning and drawing the curtains, I felt like all of Shanghai was beneath me. The views were unobstructed. The gym was equipped with full Technogym equipment, and working out with a view of Lujiazui was an amazing experience. The pool also had floor-to-ceiling windows, perfect for enjoying the city's nightscape. Overall, the views, service, and unique experience are well worth the price. Coming to Shanghai, I specifically chose the Pagoda Hotel (Fudan University, Shanghai Branch) that I've been eyeing for a while. I booked the Deluxe Family Twin Room for four people, and the experience truly exceeded my expectations! First of all, the hotel's location is fantastic! It's right in the Wujiaochang business district and KIC (Knowledge Innovation Community), next to University Road, which has a ton of trendy restaurants and cafes. In the evening, we went to a folk bar nearby, and it was a wonderful experience. It's also super close to Fudan University; we even took a walk on campus in the morning, which was lovely. Back in the room, it was incredibly spacious, absolutely not cramped for a family of four. There were two large beds, plus a tatami mat that could be used for sitting or lying down. We had tea and snacks on it during the day, and there was plenty of space to move around. The smart room control system was so convenient; a simple voice command could open or close the curtains and turn the lights on or off. Through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, we had an unobstructed view of Wujiaochang's city skyline, which was truly expansive. The hotel's service was also excellent. The front desk staff were very welcoming, and the butler even asked about our accommodation preferences in advance. There's also a free self-service late-night snack bar after 9 PM, which was a pleasant surprise! The mini-bar was complimentary, and all the in-room amenities were well-stocked. Plus, food deliveries were brought up by a robot, which was both convenient and private. The hotel also has a gym and a laundry room, which is incredibly thoughtful for families with children, allowing us to wash and dry clothes anytime. Finally, a quick reminder: hotels in Shanghai typically don't proactively provide disposable toothbrushes, but you can always ask the front desk if you need one. However, this is a minor detail, and overall, this Pagoda is definitely worth recommending, especially for family trips – you can't go wrong with it!

For a major city like Shanghai, there really should be more diverse services to make travel easier for us.

Huaihai Road Area Shanghai|1.35km from downtown
The hotel was wonderful. It was conveniently located near the metro, making it easy to travel around, while the area was not too crowded. The room was spacious and had great entertainment features. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable. We especially loved the projector TV and the automatic toilet. Thank you so much for allowing us to check in early, as we were traveling with kids. We truly appreciated your kindness and hospitality.

Hongqiao International Airport Area Shanghai|15.59km from downtown
I stayed at the Hyatt House Shanghai Hongqiao CBD and found it to be a very solid choice, especially for business travel. The location is excellent, situated directly opposite the railway station and the airport, which makes onward travel extremely convenient. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, providing everything needed for a short business stay. The staff are friendly, helpful, and efficient, which adds to the overall positive experience. Breakfast is perfectly adequate and does the job well. For business trips in particular, or if you need to continue your journey by train the next day as I did, this hotel is a very convenient and comfortable option. Overall, I had a good stay and can definitely recommend it.

Hongqiao District Shanghai|8.21km from downtown
I've found a real gem in this modern tower. The hotel occupies floors 15 to 18, and the reception is a 10/10 – the staff are super friendly, they offer coffee, tea, and little pastries, and there's also a very comfortable coworking area. The rooms are like a small studio with a kitchenette: microwave, washing machine, dryer, a full-size fridge, and plenty of closet space. The bed and pillows are extremely comfortable, and the shower… wow! The water pressure is amazing, absolutely wonderful. The door is floor-to-ceiling, so steam from long showers doesn't escape into the rest of the room. The sink area is a bit small, but it's fine for one or two people. Special mention: the magnifying mirror and the Japanese toilet – a real luxury that I really appreciated. We were so comfortable that we ended up extending our stay by 3 more days. The only downside: the metro is about 1 km away, maybe a bit more. But the value for money is so good that what you save on the hotel easily covers a taxi ride. From now on, this will be my go-to place in Shanghai. Highly recommended. I'll definitely be back.
