We had a wonderful stay at Crowne Plaza Shanghai Nanjing Road. The hotel is in an excellent location, just steps away from Nanjing Road and within walking distance of many major attractions, shops, and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable, although it looked a little dated. The bed was very comfortable, and we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The breakfast offered a great variety of both Chinese and international dishes. The staff were professional, friendly, and always willing to help. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. Overall, we had a great experience and would happily stay here again.

This hotel's location is truly unbeatable. It's right next to People's Square metro station and directly connected to the New World City mall on Nanjing Road. This makes shopping, dining, and taking the subway incredibly convenient, saving you any hassle with getting around. I especially want to commend the front desk team – their professionalism is top-notch! The staff communicate fluently in English, and there are several foreign employees working there, which means the hotel hosts many international guests, giving it a truly global atmosphere. The staff are warm, attentive, and strike the perfect balance in their service: thoughtful without being overly eager. It makes interacting with them easy and comfortable, with no awkwardness at all. With its prime location and excellent service, the overall value for money is fantastic. It's my top choice for staying in Shanghai, and I'll definitely pick this place again on my next visit!

After a 10-hour flight to Shanghai, we arrived at the hotel by taxi around 8 AM, looking tired and sleepy. The front desk lady, seeing our condition, quickly urged housekeeping to clean a room for us. We got our room cards around 10 AM, and even better, we were upgraded to a suite! Amazing! Big shout-out to that lovely lady!!! The next morning, we checked out. We had several suitcases that we brought down to the first floor. A handsome gentleman, seeing us in a hurry, quickly came over to help us with our luggage. He swiftly arranged for our bags to be stored (while we had breakfast at the restaurant) and processed our check-out. We were truly grateful! Big shout-out to that gentleman!!! These details really show the excellent service. Next time I'm in Shanghai, I'll definitely choose your hotel again! :)

The transportation is quite convenient; the subway station is right outside. On rainy days, you can even use the connecting corridor to Hong Kong Plaza, allowing you to walk underground and avoid the rain. There's also a lounge where you can grab a coffee, and in warmer weather, you can swim, though you need to bring your own swim cap. The tennis court is free! The front desk lady, Iris, provided very attentive and thorough service. She's really approachable and gentle with children. Thumbs up! 👍

We booked our room through Ctrip. The hotel service was excellent. The front desk staff were particularly warm and professional, and all the other service staff were very polite. Issues were resolved promptly. Moreover, the staff were highly cooperative and almost always solved problems perfectly. The room was very quiet and clean. The front desk lady even thoughtfully gave the children White Rabbit creamy candies and a welcome fruit platter!

I recently stayed at Yitel Premium and absolutely loved it! The location is amazing—right in the heart of the pedestrian street, so it's super convenient to walk anywhere. It's also really close to a famous Xiaolongbao restaurant, and DiDi drivers can pick you up right in front of the hotel. The hotel itself is very clean, and housekeeping did a great job cleaning my room every single day. The best part was that my stay coincided with my birthday, and the staff was so sweet to upgrade my room for free! The service here is top-notch. I also loved the complimentary tea and coffee in the lobby, and the free washing machine was a huge plus. The only minor things were a slight cigarette smell that probably came through the AC vents, which was understandable. However, the only real downside was that my room faced the main road, so the traffic noise was quite loud. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I highly recommend it!

The Jiangnan region truly shines during the plum rain season. I've stayed here over 10 times, and each visit offers a unique experience. In the mornings, I enjoy a leisurely stroll nearby, soaking in the misty plum rain, then return to the hotel to gaze at the beautiful garden views. Amidst my usual hurried comings and goings, this place feels like a welcome stopover, prompting me to slow down. This time, I deliberately flew in a day early, simply to unwind and enjoy a full 24 hours of relaxation at the hotel. The service is incredibly thoughtful and comfortable. It's clean, tidy, and maintains a perfect sense of privacy. In today's busy world, it provides a much-needed space to breathe slowly. A true haven for de-stressing.

I highly recommend the Pullman Shanghai Jing An. My stay in the Deluxe King Room was perfect, deserving a full five-star rating. The hotel is located in the heart of Jing An, within walking distance of the metro station, making it incredibly convenient to get to major commercial areas. The room was spacious and elegant, the bed soft and comfortable, and the entire room was spotlessly clean with excellent soundproofing. The front desk service was attentive and efficient, housekeeping was meticulous and thorough, and the breakfast offered a rich variety of delicious options. This all-suite hotel was a perfect stay for our family with a child! The spacious suite offered plenty of room for our child to move around freely, unlike a standard hotel room. The hotel thoughtfully provided children's toiletries, and the independent kitchen was convenient for preparing simple meals. The washer-dryer combo was a lifesaver for laundry during our family trip. Being within walking distance to the Shanghai Natural History Museum was incredibly convenient for outings with our little one. The quiet, residential-like environment ensured a peaceful night's sleep. Lily at the front desk was gentle and attentive with her service. The staff were all very warm and welcoming, and our room was clean, tidy, and spacious, making for a very comfortable stay. The complimentary travel photoshoot experience exceeded our expectations. There was no pushy sales or forced consumption throughout, and the photography experience itself was great. Celebrated my child's birthday here. I hadn't made a note in advance, but when I checked in, I mentioned it to Summer Fan at the front desk. I really appreciate the little toy and special treat she arranged, and also her proactively offering to set up the sofa bed for us. The hotel itself is a bit old-fashioned but very clean. It's not cheap, but for Lujiazui, it offers really good value for money. The housekeeping staff on the 28th floor were also excellent, very quick to respond to guest requests. The afternoon tea at the Horizon Club was quite nice, and dinner was decent, though the dinner at Shangri-La Ningbo is still the best. The parking lot has two levels, and it was very empty on the weekend, but on Monday, it filled up with cars from nearby office workers, making it a bit tight. The roof of Zhengda Plaza obstructed the view from the Zijing Building, so next time I'll try a river-view room in the Pujiang Building.

During the Dragon Boat Festival, I brought my family for a trip nearby. The Shimao Wonderland InterContinental, though I'd heard mixed reviews online, I decided to experience it for myself. After confirming our check-in time and our preference for a quiet room, Hanna from the front desk proactively added me on WeChat. She reminded me that because it was a holiday and there was an amusement park nearby, parking might be tight, advising me to inform her 30 minutes in advance so she could make arrangements. We checked in on Dragon Boat Festival noon, and I was surprised to see the lobby's seating area packed with people and a long queue at the front desk. However, thanks to Hanna's foresight, our room was already reserved, making the check-in process quick and efficient. Our room was arranged away from the elevator, and the soundproofing was remarkably good. We couldn't hear any plumbing from the adjacent rooms or the floors above/below, whether it was the shower or the toilet. This undisturbed experience is a rare find, whether in hotels built years ago or newly constructed ones, a truly effective soundproofing is hard to come by. There was a minor issue with the sink drainage during our stay, which was promptly resolved, showing their attentive service. However, I have to complain about the sink's design; it was a square basin, which easily splashed water, and water tended to accumulate near the faucet – not very practical. Our stay included a complimentary travel photoshoot with three free photos. The photographer was excellent at creating a lively atmosphere, and our family portrait turned out vibrant and natural, boosting our mood significantly! Online reviews for the Western restaurant were mediocre, but the Chinese restaurant, Cai Feng Lou, received many positive comments. I spontaneously decided to try it, worried about not getting a table, but Hanna immediately helped us book a table for that evening. The standout dish in the set meal was the diced wagyu beef – a true test of a chef's skill. Each piece was large, yet perfectly tender, flavorful, and didn't get stuck in your teeth. This mastery certainly justifies the numerous trophies and prestigious brand accolades at the entrance! At the restaurant entrance, there was also an introduction to the Shimao Quarry Hotel's background and construction history. Indeed, many aspects of its design were quite visionary, considering it took 12 years to build! The cliffside light show at 8:30 PM featured stunning opening audio effects, and the fountain design added a lot to the visual impact of the mythological story. The Chenshan Botanical Garden, included in our hotel package, was even more amazing. I felt like I could spend two days there, enjoying nature, the charm of the vast lawn, the beauty of the dawn redwood forest, and the tranquility of the camphor forest. Overall, it was a good experience, but the price was just too unfriendly. Even without it being a major holiday, it was so expensive. Given the current economic climate, a more affordable price would be needed to maintain sustained market demand.

Amenities: The bedding was incredibly comfortable, and there were many pillow options, all super cozy, ensuring a great night's sleep. The spa was also good. The room featured smart home technology throughout and felt quite new. There were plenty of large mirrors, perfect for photos and makeup. Plus, there's a terrace and a soaking tub. Cleanliness: Very clean. Environment: Overall, it's one of the better hotels around Hongqiao. However, I was a bit startled when I stepped out of my room to grab takeout and saw many guests doing their morning exercises right outside their doors. Service: They called ahead to confirm my check-in time, and the service was very thoughtful. Checking in on the executive floor was a unique and fun experience with the body composition analysis ritual. The wellness soups and teas offered were abundant and varied. The turndown service included an aromatherapy diffuser; it was a citrus scent, but I wasn't a big fan, it smelled a bit like citrus gummy bears. If you don't want to go far to pick up takeout, you can also contact your butler to have it delivered to your room, which is a very thoughtful touch.

After a disappointing experience at our previous hotel, we booked this one in the middle of the night. Thankfully, our reservation was confirmed instantly, allowing us to move over immediately. From the moment we arrived, the reception team was warm, friendly, and incredibly efficient. Check-in was seamless, and we were pleasantly surprised by our beautiful room—it was spacious, spotless, and exceptionally comfortable. The amenities were excellent. We especially loved having a private in-room onsen, while the public onsen was equally relaxing. Although our room was quite a distance from the lobby, the hotel’s complimentary buggy service made getting around quick and convenient. What truly stood out was the outstanding service. The staff responded to our requests almost instantly and even went above and beyond to help coordinate my ******* food delivery. Since ******* drivers aren’t allowed to enter this area, you’ll need to pay a small additional fee for the driver to walk in. Our guest services team handled the communication with the driver and ensured the food was delivered directly to our room. We genuinely felt well looked after throughout our stay. Another huge plus is the complimentary shuttle service to Disneyland, making this hotel an excellent choice for anyone planning a Disney trip. After such a stressful start to our holiday, this hotel completely turned things around. With its exceptional service, beautiful rooms, excellent facilities, and convenient Disneyland shuttle, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Highly recommended!

The hotel room facilities are good, with everything that should be there. The smoking area outside is also very beautiful. The breakfast in the morning is very good, it is self-service, and there are freshly made noodles to eat. If you are thirsty, you can go downstairs at any time to have some drinks and fruits, which are all included in the hotel package. Why the deduction? Like many reviews wrote, the water in the pool here is really too hot. It is the hottest of all the hot springs in Shanghai that I have been to. It feels too hot. I saw that several children could hardly soak in the water for a while. I don’t know why so many people complained. I saw that the management was still saying in the comments that it met the hot spring temperature requirements. What they said is that your water is too hot, and they are giving you suggestions. Everyone in the hot spring said that the water was hot, not that you violated any regulations... It takes talent to reply like this

I visited Qianyun after looking at dozens of places in the area. I wanted to be away from typical city area, have a bathtub and nice outdoor area, and with easy access to Shanghai Disneyland. Qianyun met all those requirements and more! The location was immediately very serene and surrounded by forest, but still easy to access lots of waimai food delivery options. They were also very kind and proactive about sharing information about local restaurants and activities, and provide a breakfast and evening fruit every day. They offer free car transport to Disneyland, and I was excited to use this service but I ended up enjoying my time at the hotel so much that I opted to stay and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere instead! The hotel pets are so friendly - within five minutes the little cat Banban was on my lap and purring. The room itself is decorated very nicely with all the amenities you need. The bathtub inside is very comfortable and I loved the outdoor hot spring tub as well. The attention to hygiene is very highly emphasized and I was impressed with how clean and luxurious everything felt. I will definitely visit again and recommend to anyone hoping to have a convenient getaway from the city, or who would like to be near to Disneyland Resort while also experiencing a more peaceful area and for a good economical value and high quality service! The hotel is well-located, right in the middle of the pedestrian street. We stayed in a standard room, but after our flight was canceled due to a typhoon, we extended our stay for another day and were moved to an upgraded room. The room was fantastic, we were probably lucky. It had two rooms: a living room with a sofa and a magnificent view of the pedestrian street. Besides a tea set, there was also a coffee machine. There was also a large, separate bathroom. It's an ideal option for a family with a child. The breakfasts are very good, with options for both children and adults. Hello! From August 13, 2018, to May 28, 2026, here I am again at the Grand Hotel Shanghai! All the furnishings and facilities are just as I remember them, and the service is as warm as ever. The only things that hint at the passage of time are the slightly worn leather on the desk and the somewhat aged bathroom fixtures; otherwise, everything is absolutely perfect! It boasts a fantastic location, incredibly warm service, and delicious, tasty breakfasts – especially that authentic bowl of Lanzhou pulled noodles 🍜. The Fairmont Gold room is very spacious, featuring a separate entry area, a walk-in closet, and a well-appointed bathroom with a wet and dry separation, a vintage bathtub, and double sinks. The bedroom includes a large sofa and a desk, and the overall layout follows an inverted 'S' shape. Both the layout and decorative details show thoughtful design, exuding an old-world artistic charm. This time, I stayed in a room facing Nanjing Road. Through the three bay windows, I could see the bustling crowds on the pedestrian street below, the silhouette of the Peace Hotel's South Tower opposite, and the large clock on the Custom House clock tower in the distance. Almost every corner of the hotel tells a story: the grand corridor and octagonal lobby on the ground floor, the peace dove sculpture made of thousands of glazed tiles, the historic 'Chaplin Staircase' by the east entrance, the European old-money-style Victor Café, the Peace Museum tucked away on the mezzanine floor, and the legendary Jazz Bar hidden within the Jasmine Lounge. Taking the gleaming mosaic-tiled old elevator up to the 9th floor's Cathay Room, the rooftop bar offers panoramic views of the Bund. The Dragon & Phoenix Restaurant is adorned with auspicious dragons and phoenixes and eight blessings, while the Peace Hall, with its long space, high vaulted ceiling, and the legendary spring-loaded teak floor, still whispers tales of its past splendor. Staying in a Gold room includes lounge access. We experienced both the afternoon tea and happy hour, and the food quality was good with a rich selection. The happy hour now also offers hot dinner items; while not as extensive as the Cathay Room buffet, the variety is still considerable. The biggest advantage is the tranquility—during my visit, there were rarely more than two or three tables of guests, allowing for a quiet and relaxing meal. The Gold Lounge's ambiance is excellent, continuing the hotel's Art Deco style with a Shanghai twist. The service staff are professional, proactive, and know how to maintain an appropriate distance. The Jazz Bar was another highlight of this trip. The elderly jazz band, famous for holding a Guinness World Record, is quite well-known. After dinner, we went for a drink and listened to some music. While the performance and the female singer's vocals weren't stunning, the atmosphere was truly unique. Upon entering, the dapper maître d', with slicked-back hair, warmly escorted us to our seats; the bar staff were skillful in recommending drinks; and the handsome bartender’s movements were swift and precise. Watching the white-haired musicians on stage deliver piece after piece, I felt a genuine sense of disorientation, as if time had rewound several decades.

The hotel's location is excellent, and cleanliness wasn't an issue. However, the facilities had some significant drawbacks. The bathroom door was very problematic; the toilet and shower shared the same glass door, which was extremely difficult to slide and very inconvenient (as shown in the picture). There were too few power outlets, making charging devices a hassle. The light switches weren't clearly marked, and the night light shone directly into your eyes. Regarding service, the younger male front desk staff member was rude and unprofessional. When I checked in, I wasn't the only guest, and he was impatient and impolite with everyone, not using any basic pleasantries. He also didn't inform me about any of the hotel's facilities; I had to find the laundry room myself later. At one point, a hotel call came in to the female staff member opposite him. She wasn't sure about the situation, hung up, and then asked the male staff member, who directly mocked the guest who had called for inquiries – that was completely out of line. He also made a point of pretending to be busy with other things (even though guests could see his screen and he clearly wasn't busy) before grudgingly responding to guest requests. Although the hotel's physical amenities aren't a major issue, I will not be staying here again due to the service attitude. Being next to a university, I'm sure they won't miss one guest.
