4-Star Hotels in Quintana Roo, Mexico

Our experience started weak but ended stronger. This resort had customer service that was unresponsive, and unhelpful when we did reach them, prior to our arrival. While drinks are included, all I could drink were bottled beers or wine because the cocktails that any barista made were the worst I had tasted - mudslide, vodka soda, pinacolada, etc. all were terrible. Maybe they do this so guests don't order much alcohol? Waiters are a hit and miss, Marco Polo had a wonderful waiter who put on a show for us, while the Caribbean restaurant by the sea had a waiter who never once got our orders right, dozens of wrong orders or forgotten items in every sitting. Airport transport has many rules - for pickup, you must order 12-24 hours in advance, outside that window you're on your own. For dropoff, you must order the day before departure, can't pre-arrange 2 days in advance and you can't arrange the same day either, add some stress to your holiday. This resort benefits from its connection to neighboring GR Caribe by Solaris as their combined facilities and the prettier design of GR Caribe make the overall resorts experience more interesting and memorable.

Location was great. Close to everything. Service was great. Not all inclusive, only served breakfast, the same things daily. The hotel lobby has a small bar area that served drinks from 11am to 11pm for free. The week we stayed obviously was a bad week. The elevator always reeked of ****. We could not enjoy the pool due to the **** smell and the loud obnoxious music the other hotel guests were playing. Loud guests every night. Had to call the front desk to get them to quiet down one night so we could sleep.

It was really nice hotel. But we went with cheaper rate, so the room doesn't have ocean view, facing the road. you could hear the cars/buses running over night. Otherwise, very good economical hotel. Try to avoid the road facing road.

We loved this hotel so much and had such a positive experience here! after arriving at a different hotel we'd pre-booked and finding it to be awful, we looked online for an alternative and got a really good deal here. We got a deluxe king suite for 2 people all inclusive for the week with about 60-70% off the normal price! So we were really impressed with the value. When we arrived, the check-in process was pretty slow. The hotel is massive and yet the reception is fairly small so every time we went passed, there was a big queue of people waiting. Although it was slow, the staff were all friendly, helpful and informative and told us all about the restaurants, pools and all inclusive offering before giving us our room key. We were so impressed with the room! It was super spacious, modern and comfortable. The bed was huge and there was still loads of space. I also loved the bath with the glass divider to the bedroom, and the bathroom was lovely and clean too with bottled water provided each day. We spent about 50% of our time in Cancun out and about, and the other 50% relaxing at the hotel. We were really happy with the time we spent in the hotel; it had about 5 pools, which were lovely and we especially liked the adults only one with the swim up bar. The staff round the pool were really attentive and always very quick to offer drinks and food. The food itself was really great. The hotel had 6 or 7 restaurants of varying spec; some fancier and some more casual daytime dining. We ate in almost all of them and enjoyed the vast variety on offer. Even the more casual offerings (like in the sports bar and round the pool) were really high quality and we really enjoyed all of our meals. The all inclusive offering was really substantial too, with basically everything included. The only thing we didn't have included was the meal we had at the sports bar, but we could've dined in one of the other restaurants if we'd wanted to avoid paying anything extra. The hotel was ideally located for exploring Cancun and doing excursions etc, and we were super happy we'd chosen to stay here. I'd recommend it to anyone and would definitely stay again.

There is also a beautiful and expansive supermarket right under the hotel to get whatever culinary needs you require. We were upgraded to a balcony room as Bonvoy Titanium,.The price point of the Aloft was also a value, and it is a good bargain in using Marriott Bonvoy points. Javier that checked us in was lovely and gracious, and all staff were pleasant and professional. Aloft is an unusual hotel--one that wants to be a wanna-be hip W Hotel and also a Fairfield Inn for Gen Z'ers. It didn't do either very well, unfortunately. The staff wanted to do well, and perhaps there are still newly opened growing pains that will be worked out. Housekeeping was promised daily, but on 3 out of the 5 days we had to call Housekeeping after returning from the day;'s activities to service the room (which they did right away when called) but this was a big fail. The purified water dispenser in the nice gym was often empty. And generally the upkeep of the hotel is not or was not a priority. It's nice and new and ”hip looking” but metal surfaces and walls by the pool on the 4th floor are rusting already, and little bits of trash on the hallway carpeting remained for the 5 days which showed they didn't vacuum the common areas as often as should be. Room A/C and common area A./C were great! 4th floor pool has city and sea views in the distance and we could often see Cozumel and the cruise ships anchored there in the far distance on most days. I wanted the stay to be great, but it was good.

That hotel is.... saved by the beach .... The biggest disappointment was the behaviour of the staff ....1) they don't care about the customers and they don't like their job ( especially in reception ) . 2) the most of them they don't speak English even in critical place's like guest relations. 3) our room was smelling mold. The location is in the hotel area, which is quite convenient. There are many shopping malls around, which is very convenient for shopping and eating out. The hotel facilities are complete, and the front desk staff are very patient and have a very good attitude.

Location is great. Checkin was easy. Rooms are spacious with a little kitchenette (stove cooktop & microwave) but there’s no dishes or utensils to cook. Decent coffee/tea setup. Nice robes. Medium sized fridge with freezer section. City view rooms do not have balconies and face street with view of ice cream shop and laundromat. Pool is warm & pool towels available. 1 block from the busy street and 2 blocks from beach. There’s a bar with a pool table, foosball, and darts where happy hour was offered for an hour daily. BREAKFAST WAS NOT WORTH WAKING EARLY FOR. Very limited options and was cold. Also after checking our reservation at the breakfast restaurant they were insisting we pay for it when we paid for it with the reservation. Also felt the breakfast staff were a bit rude when I tried asking for details on the station others were lining up for reminding me of things that were included or not.

When I encountered some problems, the front desk manager or supervisor came out to answer them, and they were the same, with a stern face and very rude. There was a fire alarm at night, and many guests evacuated from the emergency passage. In the end, we asked the restaurant staff ourselves, and they said that someone might have smoked in the room and triggered the alarm system. What an understatement. During the whole process, no employee came forward, which was simply amazing. What should I do if this is a real fire? Is this the fire evacuation plan for a five-star hotel? I have chosen W Hotel N times. In my opinion, the service of this W Hotel in Cancun is only at the three-star level. Be careful if you want to stay here. Except for the beautiful sea view, everything else is not beautiful 😂.

It was a wonderful experience. Especially room services for food at night were awesome. Playing beach volleyball was pretty fun. The broken door was terrible and the Italian restaurant service was not good but other than that overall is above the average.

In the old hotel, when you enter the door, there is a huge cabinet like a disinfection cabinet for you to stand in and disinfect. Every breakfast, you can see the staff cleaning and disinfecting on the beach chairs. Be careful during the epidemic~ There is nothing to say about the external environment, and the interior of the room is old. The all-inclusive restaurant has French food, Italian food and Mexican food. The ingredients, vegetables are not the freshest, the meat parts are not the best parts, the taste, the Chinese stomach can not stand it after two days... Those who like western food, please ignore it~

Walking distance of ADO bus station. Nearby lots of nice cafes, and nearby a park with various food stalls. Bus stop nearby to get to hotel zone. For the hotel, the pool and jacuzzi is great. Stayed in a dorm bed. Has curtains for privacy and a cupboard to store your luggage. The water accumulates in the bathroom. Perhaps still need some renovation work.

Hotel location is very good, shopping street is close by, five minutes walk to the beach, it can be said to be quiet in the middle of trouble, has been recommended to friends, the partition of the balcony is best frosted isolation If the requirements for western food are not so high, this buffet breakfast is still okay. We have such an amazing time at Mvngata Beach Hotel. We just arrived but already want to share with the world how amazing the first moments already were!! Ann is the best host ever! What a friendly and hospitable person she is! Super supportive and always there to answer any question. Hugo is an absolutely friendly, funny and professional table host! The best staff that we had thus far in Mexico! Caring, professional, mega friendly, unreal! And then the hotel, restaurant and rooms! Just perfect! We had the super spacious panorama room. Just stunning! Can’t wait for the spa treatment tomorrow to undergo! Highly highly recommended this place!!

Where do I start! I booked this hotel based on the good reviews! On arrival at the hotel I was told check in want until 3, and the room wasn’t ready. I had no issues with this as per the check in details. I was told to place my luggage in an insecure room and I wandered up to the pool area, which seemed lovely on first impressions. I wandered out of the hotel and grabbed some lunch to return at the check in time. On returning to the hotel, there were three guests together clearly having check in issues and were refused a key card each. We checked in and was given a key card for room 010 with no explanation, the member of staff could not speak any English and the security guard pointed in the direction. I had booked a suite. This was the best accommodation on offer. What I was greeted with was vastly different. It was dark, smelt musty, the bedroom was on an internal corridor with no natural light, the terrace overlooked reception and you could hear everything. The bed linen was stained and covered in hairs with the audacity of a note saying charges would be incurred for any stains. We immediately complained and the receptionist was clueless and unable to help and couldn’t understand us. A member of staff from the tour table assisted and we were informed that there were no alternatives until tomorrow. Although we weren’t convinced by this. We didn’t unpack and went to the pool area and after having to request pool towels which were old and stained we ventured up. The pool area wasn’t busy and beds available, although the beds were old and d falling apart and only 8 in total. You had to arrange your own umbrellas which were a mish mash and some broken. Sophia at the pool was lovely and obliged during happy hour. We were informed that the hotel had recently been taken over and the pool bar had separate owners. The next day we attended reception at the requested time and we asked to views before moving, this caused some issues and they agreed. The room was 101 and was much better in comparison, although basic furniture and the bathroom was dirty but the linen was cleaner and the bed wasn’t broken like in the first room. The standard of cleaning was poor and staff would often have small children in the bottom of the cleaning trolleys whilst working. The pool towels were never changed and it was hit and Miss whether you got enough towels in the bathroom, along with toilet roll and without telephones in the room you had to visit reception. There was no hairdryer and water only given on first day.we did laugh when a note was next to say we owned mo way for stained items. I was ready for an argument on check out but it never happened and no money was requested. The hotel is in a good location for 5tb Avenue and has the potential to be so much better

During the summer vacation, I brought my son to Cancun, Cancun for 4 nights, PDC for three nights, more than 400 hotels, there was no front desk phone, I endured it. I was very worried that the hotel put me pigeons, and finally stayed. Thank you Ctrip. After the epidemic, foreign hotels soared. Ctrip took it through Expedia and sold it with a small profit. Breakfast is a bit pit, nothing, drinks are more money. Come here, isn't it just for xcaret and explore two yards. Next time I stay in Tulum 2-3 for night, Cozumel 3 nights, it may be more cool.

The off-season is not too noisy, the people are not crowded, the food and drink are very high-end, the room hardware is very high-end, that is, it is comfortable and convenient, but also has face, the location is very good, and it is super safe!

I went to BlueBay Grand Esmeralda for my destination wedding this past month. I can say the highlight of the resort is certainly the staff, specifically our wedding coordinator Daniela. She truly is amazing at her work and worked diligently to manage every situation that came her way. The wedding was exactly like what we saw in all the photos. She is very detail oriented and my wife and I are very grateful to her for picking up the pieces of our wedding after being short staffed. She helped put all of our concerns at ease. I honestly don't know how she manages all of the weddings she coordinates. My one true grief with the resort is that she is the only wedding coordinator. She is visibly over worked but keeps working with a smile and no complaints. I hope and strongly encourage the resort to hire more wedding coordinators. This would balance the workload more and allow the wedding couples to be able to have more timely communication with their coordinators. Something that is paramount for planning such an important event and moment in a couple's life. She is only one person and to manage every wedding for such a large resort is simply too much for one person, no matter how good they are at their job.

We stayed at Soho Playa for 5 nights and we were super comfortable. The rooms are big, have everything you need, a fridge, AC, big bathrooms, a little terrace, and they go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. I had some requests and they not only provided what I needed but exceeded my expectations. I read many reviews and people were complaining about the breakfast and i do not undertand, it is better than nothing, you get coffe and bread take it or leave it, it is included, at least it is something. Also it is very convenient that they are next to a juice/salad/poke bowl place, we ate there a few times. The location was really good, they came to clean once every two days which was good enough for us. I really wanted to thank Gabriela becuase she went above and beyond when i had a request, she helped us out so much during out stay. The only thing i would say they could improve is the common terrace in the pool area, it looks like it needs more maintenance, but it works for the purpose of using the pool to relax for a bit.

Large complex with several pools and dining options, though some amenities not available due to covid. Generally helpful and kind staff, one gentleman at the concierge wasn't the best but the manager was great! The beach had lots of space, places to sit and staff available for beverage service. Overall a nice place to stay!
