Taichung Railway Station/Miyahara Dessert Store
Great staff service. The lady staff was polite and helpful. Room is clean, simple good furnishings for the price. Like that the room has many power sockets, especially the beds which are very comfortable!
Tai Hope Hotel

Taipei Arena
Room is small with outdated furnitures and has some old building smells. Overall the room is clean. Service from the front desk lady was not very friendly. No heater and felt cold in the room during the winter.
Apause Inn

Taipei Railway Station
The location is really superb with Taipei Main Station, many restaurants, malls and shops just within 3 mins walking distance radius. Use the Z2 exit which has lift facility at the main station. Then simply cross the road & walk towards the Macdonalds sign. Use the entrance (side road) beside Macdonalds restaurant. It took us under 5 mins to reach the inn on the 5th floor once we exited the station. We read about the complaints of long wait for the lifts but found that not to be an issue during our 4 nights stay there. Yes, there are at least another 2 inns located within the same building. As we travelled with other 2 family members, the availability of use of the lounge facilities that provided free flow of hot tea / coffee & comfortable seats & chairs, microwave oven & oven was great for simple snacks / supper together. Other amenities like 2 bottles of mineral water, bedroom slippers, shampoo, hand soap, shower gel and hair dryer are provided too. If toothbrush sets or shower caps or washing detergent are required, they can be requested or obtained from the lounge. The staff were friendly & helpful too. We were 45mins early & appreciated the early check in with a short 10mins comfortable wait at the lounge. Yes, the room is rather small. We were unable to book a bigger room except a double bed room with city view of about 20sq m. It took us a night or 2 to get use to managing our movements between 2 adults & 2 suitcases in each room. Ironing my clothes using my own travel iron has to be done at the counter beside the sink/ television. Looking at the sizes of room & the many rooms at close proximity, I would not recommend this inn for family with kid/ kids or senior travellers. It is more suitable for solo traveller or travellers of not more than 2 in a room. Read about the strong beach smell in the towels which unfortunately was true. Probably the hotel can go easy on the usage of beach. This is partly the reason I given a 4 star rating instead of 5 under cleanliness. Overall, a better than expected enjoyable stay. It’s value for money esp considering the location. Thanks too for the gift of luggage tag & luggage belt; a nice gesture. I would recommend to friends and families.

Shilin Night Market
We spent a comfortable 5 nights in this hotel. Rooms are a nice size, warmly furnished and comfortable double bed! Bathroom is spacious with separate bathtub and shower. No meal options but many food places or convenience stores very near. A nice thing was the water dispenser and a coffee machine for guests downstairs.

Our stay at Meander Taipei during New Year's Eve was absolutely delightful! The staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable, offering helpful local recommendations and assistance whenever needed. Their excellent English proficiency made communication effortless, which is particularly valuable for international travelers. What truly sets Meander Taipei apart is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The common areas are thoughtfully designed to encourage interaction among guests, creating a friendly and social environment perfect for meeting fellow travelers. Despite the festive season, the hostel maintained a comfortable and relaxed vibe. The helpful staff, English-speaking environment, and inviting atmosphere make Meander Taipei an excellent choice for anyone visiting Taipei, especially during special occasions like New Year's Eve. Highly recommended for both solo travelers and groups looking for a comfortable and sociable accommodation option.
CityInn Hotel Taipei Station Branch II
4.3/551 Reviews
Taipei Railway Station
Xinyi has always been a brand I trust, and I am very satisfied with my return visit after many years. The staff at the counter are friendly, there are delicious snack bars nearby, and a convenience store is nearby. Transportation is convenient, with the Airport MRT nearby. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the station and not too noisy.
Traveller Inn Tiehua Cultural and Creative Hotel II

Taitung Downtown/Tiehua Village
The location is great, right across from the bus terminal. It's very convenient for those who don't use the train station early in the morning or late at night. The facilities are also well-equipped. Please note that disposable amenities (combs, toothbrushes, etc.) are not provided in Taiwan, as they are prohibited.
Kindness Hotel (Kaohsiung Station)
4.7/5377 Reviews
Kaohsiung Railway Station
Highly recommended. Nothing short of excellence. Check in was fuss-free and we were given a complimentary upgrade. Room was very spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. The breakfast had a sufficient spread and was very tasty. There was a laundry room downstairs with free detergent. The cafe area was large with free snacks which was a great place to hang out and chat. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in at a very affordable price. We truly enjoyed the experience.
Hotel Bstay|Self Check-In
4.1/5222 Reviews
Taipei Railway Station
Location was the better one with cheaper pricing. About 5 or 10mins walk from hotel to shuanglian. Reach the hotel, there was no one attending at the counter and was a self checkin machine. Easy checkin and you get the room card. Room was clean and tidy. Room size acceptable, can place 3 of my luggages. Big bath room, just that the water temp was either too hot or too cold. Have to toggle between the 2 shower heads. Initially i planned to deposit my luggage on the last day as i had a late flight that day. But there was no one attending to the counter. Theres a number to add in line app, so i chatted with the person. Was asked to place the luggage behind the counter at my own risk. Which i dont really like this idea. Should have stated in the website in the first place. I still left my luggage there for about 3 hrs, nothing was missing but initially i planned to pickup much later. But since no one was attending to my luggages i went back to collect early. Side note, this hotel is also open for short term stay for people to wish to 'stay' for a few hours. Overall, still clean and acceptable price. Other than, the luggage deposit portion.
Somer Chew Hotel

Chihkan Tower
The location is great as it is located to the restaurant and bars cluster. The facilities are clean, well equipped and relatively new. My only issue is with the desk staff, they were not friendly to start with, upon arrival (about 12pm) we were told to just park our luggage at a corner, no tags were assigned, no labelling, nothing. Then told to come back to do check-in at 3pm, they cannot any time earlier than that, so we left and came back at 3pm. At this point it was a female staff with bangs that helped us, I showed her the hotel booking email and she said she wants the Trip.com booking app page, I showed her and she said she wants to see the booking ID. I showed her that too and at this point she said ”read it out to me”. The booking ID was on my phone screen and she didn't even bother to see it, and wants me to READ IT ALOUD TO HER. Maybe she's dyslexic? I don't know. Then I added on one extra day of stay which did not reflect on the paper that she asked me to sign so I pointed that out and she double confirmed that it was printed wrongly. Fast forward a few days, all of our access cards were not able to work for our same rooms that we stayed, I assume it is because she did not grant the correct number of days upon check in, which also resulted in some inconvenience going to and fro the room and counter. And that same staff carried the same attitude when renewing the faulty access cards. Every morning the breakfast service staff was rude as well, like I owed her a million dollars or something, ”you which room? you sit here”. One morning she came to me ”how many people in your room? not 2 person?”, I stayed alone in a 3pax family room with no changes at all. I really dread breakfast everyday. When we checked out there was a new crew of desk staff which was much better in terms of attitude and service, it was the weekend team. I had 2 more weeks of stay in Tainan and I moved to another hotel. Overall I will not stay in this hotel ever again, other than the service, everything is great.
