The Palmer Hotel is within 5 minutes walk from the Taichung Railway Station.  The remodeled room’s design is nice, pleasant, and functional.  The bed sheet, towels, and drapery are clean. The air confining works well with a cold personal fridge! The room service staff is friendly with good work. The breakfast serves different dishes everyday and they were tasty varieties! I consider the CP value (cost and price) is very high! It is highly recommended for the budget solo travelers!

This hotel offers great value for money, being close to Yongkang Street and Shida Night Market. However, it's about a 10-minute walk to the nearest subway station. Breakfast is provided and the quality is excellent. Overall, it's highly recommended for its superb value.

My stay at Yoshi Hotel was pretty good this time. First off, the hotel environment was clean and comfortable overall. The room was well-maintained, and the bed was soft and comfy, allowing me to fully relax. The public areas were also tastefully designed, giving off a cozy yet stylish vibe. The location was convenient, with good amenities nearby, making it easy to dine out or shop. The staff's attitude was also impressive; they were very friendly from check-in to check-out and patiently helped whenever I had questions, which made the overall experience even better. Although some facilities were a bit basic, considering the price, it offered great value for money. Overall, it's a hotel worth recommending, and I'd consider staying again if I have the chance.

When check in, the staff was busy, It was confused me to rush for check in, apperantly the room was on the other building, so I need to go out and enter the other building. Not sure about the security, looks like no security on the other building. For breakfast I have to go out to the front office building on the 2nd floor. They give coupon for breakfast from 7-10. The breakfast was okay, and same type of menu. The room quite big, the bathroom okay, with full amenities. It seems the the room wasn't clean properly, there some small plastic rubbish on the corner when I check in, I wouldn't bother. Light in front of bathroom wasn't good enougj, since the mirror there you need when you getting ready to go out. They provide water bottle and tea bag. Free store luggage service upon check in and check out. Location is near the train station, walkable to Miyahara and around train station was really nice at night.

I recently stayed at Sky One Hotel, and I must say it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is spotlessly clean, and the rooms are very comfortable, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. What really stood out to me was the helpful and friendly staff—they were always willing to assist with any requests, making the stay even more pleasant. The location is another major plus. It’s just a short walk away from the famous Liuhe Night Market, where you can enjoy delicious local street food and immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere. Central Park is also nearby, offering a great place to relax or take a stroll. Transportation is incredibly accessible, making it easy to get around the city and explore even more. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, this hotel offers great value and convenience. I highly recommend Sky One Hotel for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located stay!

There's more than one Takahashi Inn around Kaohsiung Station, but this one is right across the street from the station, which was super convenient for me since I had a lot of luggage. The hotel breakfast was excellent; I particularly enjoyed the hot Chinese options like congee, stir-fries, and tremella soup. Their scallion oil crispy pastry was fantastic! (See picture 2). The hotel doesn't serve dinner, but the famous Liuhe Night Market is less than a ten-minute walk away (See picture 3). I especially loved the hotel's 24-hour self-service laundry room.

A very comfortable stay. The hotel is close to food-gathering spots like Guohua Street, within walking distance, and also quite near attractions like Chihkan Tower and Tainan Railway Station. A popular internet-famous ice cream shop is also nearby. The hotel is clean and tidy, and the bathroom is bright with good water pressure. However, the toilet area itself is indeed very small and narrow. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, willing to assist with services like luggage storage.

The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 10-minute walk from Taichung Railway Station. Miyahara Eye Hospital is also nearby. There's a 24-hour convenience store downstairs, though the night market is a bit of a walk, about 30 minutes. A bus stop is right in front of the hotel, and you can rent a scooter directly across the street, making it super convenient to get around.

Extremely disappointed 😞. The family room I saw in the pictures wasn't the one I stayed in, and there were no photos of my actual room type available on Trip.com. The room I got didn't match the price I paid. I booked specifically for the room design, so I was really upset when I arrived. When I asked at the front desk, they told me, 'Because you didn't request it? So it's just a standard room?' I had no idea there were other room types. I came during a public holiday (and my price was more than double the usual rate), but I didn't get the room I wanted. I really can't accept this! The most unreasonable thing, in my opinion, was the security deposit. I'm okay with paying a deposit, but why wasn't it refunded immediately? Who traveling for a vacation in Taiwan wants to wait over two weeks for a refund? I've already waited fourteen days, and they're saying it's Trip.com's problem and not theirs??? The staff just shifted all the blame and didn't help resolve the issue at all! It's already 2/28 to 3/14 and I still haven't received my money? What happened to the promised 7 to 14 days? And I can't find anyone who can help resolve this problem! I hope the hotel can help deal with this instead of just saying it's not their problem. The hotel partners with Trip.com; they help you get guests, so why are you so indifferent to your customers' issues??? Who would dare to book with you again after this??? (RM591.92) Is the deposit for one night the same as the holiday room price??? Maybe you didn't collect it directly, but since you let Trip.com collect it, you should be responsible for helping to inquire and assist customers in getting their money back. Just because it's not 'your' money, you don't care? Is this a customer service issue? Five hundred TWD 4,600?? Is that a service fee? Is this a joke? No problem resolution? The breakfast was indeed good! I'll give them that. But who knows how much Oden 🍢 there was? They advertised it as a late-night snack, but it was all gone by 9 PM? When I asked, they just said, 'It's gone, it's gone?' In that case, why even offer it?

AAnonymous UserThe location is very convenient for getting around. The walls in the rooms are quite thin; you can clearly hear the surrounding noises. The carpet in the room; it felt unclean. Otherwise, everything was okay. The toilet is a Japanese style with a bidet. The staff were kind. I arrived before noon because I had a night flight, and the staff allowed me an early check-in, which I was very happy about because I could rest and shower before going out. It was great!

AAnonymous UserThe location is fantastic, making it super convenient to get anywhere. There are tons of food options downstairs, and a department store (Shin Kong Mitsukoshi) is right across the street. I've already stayed for over a week, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in Taipei!

JjasbetaSince it was the New Year holiday, the hotel price was quite expensive. It's an older hotel, but still clean, and the location is good for getting around. I'd consider staying here again next time I visit Taiwan (of course, the weekday prices are much cheaper).

GGuest UserLocation is great as it’s right at Taipei Main Station — you can take the Taoyuan Airport MRT directly from the airport, easily access the High Speed Rail to other cities, and there are also both the Red and Blue MRT lines nearby. As the building is quite old, the staff strongly emphasized not to throw toilet paper into the toilet. So just be prepared that if you do a “big business,” you may want to shower after too. I’d suggest arriving after 4pm instead of trying your luck for early check-in. During my trip, I checked in here 3 different times and it was always smooth when arriving after the official check-in time. If you come earlier, you’ll probably see many people sitting around waiting for rooms. Also note there are only 4 lifts serving the building, which is shared with offices and other hotels, so expect some waiting time for the elevator. They do have washing machines and dryers available, but both require payment. The dryer only allows 15 minutes per session, and honestly it usually isn’t enough to fully dry your clothes, so you may need to run it multiple times.

GGuest UserOverall, it was a good stay, but there are a few drawbacks to consider: 1. They didn't inform me before check-in that I needed to purchase a membership card to extend my stay for a second night. Otherwise, I'd have to check out and then check in again. While it wasn't a lot of money, it left a bad impression. 2. The check-in time was a bit odd.

SShuxiaThe location is fantastic, right behind Shin Kong Mitsukoshi. The elevators and front desk area look a bit dated, but the staff were decent. They put a large bed in the room, but because the room was small and the duvet wasn't warm enough, I got cold in the middle of the night and had to turn off the air conditioning. The kettle had dust and limescale marks. However, the bathroom was really clean, and the toilet was modern. I was genuinely surprised and impressed that the shower had two types of showerheads. It's a very good budget hotel. I'd definitely consider staying here again in the future.

JJoe Nathanael ChowA Scenic Stay with a Convenient Catch My stay at Hotelday Hualien was a bit of a mixed bag. It has some genuinely charming touches and a great view, but its location and certain amenities require some adjustment. Location & Transportation: The hotel is about a 5-minute walk from the Hualien Train Station, which is fantastic if you're arriving by rail. However, I soon realized that the train station is not the city center. The main downtown area is a significant distance away—about a 40-minute walk. This means you'll either need to plan for long walks or rely on taxis and buses to get to the main dining and night market areas. It's not a deal-breaker, but it's something to be aware of. The Room: The room itself was a highlight. It was spacious and comfortable, providing a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. The best feature was the large window that faced the train station, with a stunning backdrop of the mountains. It was incredibly scenic and made the room feel bright and open. While the room was comfortable, I did notice that the overall design and some of the furniture felt a bit dated. It's clean and functional, but don't expect a super modern aesthetic. Amenities & Service: This is where the experience was a bit uneven. The gym was quite disappointing. It only had a stationary bicycle and a treadmill. There were no weights, no multi-gym, nothing for anyone hoping for even a basic strength workout. It felt more like an afterthought than a proper facility. On the other hand, the service had some truly thoughtful highlights. When we asked for ice, the hotel staff kindly delivered some to our room, which was a nice touch. The Special Touch: The most memorable part of the stay was a small, heartwarming gesture. The hotel provided us with complimentary postcards. The unique part? They offered to mail them for us, but not right away. They will send them exactly one year later. It's a lovely idea—a little time capsule from your trip that arrives as a surprise in the future. Overall: Hotelday Hualien offers spacious, comfortable rooms with beautiful mountain views, and its proximity to the train station is a plus for travelers. The thoughtful service, like the ice delivery and the ”postcard to your future self” program, adds a warm, personal touch. However, the distance from the city center and the very basic gym are drawbacks. It's a solid choice for a comfortable night's sleep near the station, especially if you appreciate sentimental gestures, but be prepared for the travel time to the main attractions.

GGuest UserThis is a very convenient location with plenty of food and entertainment options nearby. The young men and women at the front desk were incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, thoughtful, and attentive. They helped us plan our itinerary and transportation for our trip to Hualien Yilan, and also shared recommendations for delicious food and fun activities there. The room was also quite neat and clean, overall everything was excellent. Definitely recommend!

Aamar07A very good option overall, especially for budget travelers. I would rate the hotel 5 out of 5 for cleanliness, location, and service. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. Rooms and common areas were tidy and comfortable, which makes a big difference when you are staying at a budget property. The location is excellent. It is situated very close to a metro station, which makes getting around Taipei very convenient. For travelers planning to explore the city using public transport, the location works very well. Service was also very good. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the stay. In terms of amenities, travelers should manage expectations. The hotel provides the basics but not everything you might find in a full-service hotel. It is recommended to bring your own toiletries as only minimal items are provided in the room. Breakfast is simple and delivered as a packed option, typically something like a sandwich or a burger-style item. It is basic but perfectly adequate. One nice touch is that the hotel offers free coffee throughout the day from a coffee machine and complimentary snacks such as chips and crackers at the reception area. They also provide bottled water upon request. Overall, this is not a luxury or fancy hotel, but for budget travelers it is a very practical and comfortable choice. If you are looking for an affordable place that is clean, well located, and run by friendly staff, Tai Hope Hotel is a solid option.

GGuest UserFor the price, this place was very disappointing. First surprise was when checking in, you're told that you have to hand your keys in whenever you leave. I asked why, and they said they don't want people copying the keys, but it certainly doesn't make me feel my stuff is safe when I don't have the key. Why they couldn't use a key card system like every other hotel, I don't know, but they wouldn't have that problem if they did. In any case, the locks are terrible. Like the kind for locking a bathroom door, it'd probably open if you rattled hard enough! The room itself clearly hasn't been redecorated in years, and looks tatty and everything is old and outdated. Worryingly, clearly there's a water leak from the bathroom and the corner of the wall on the bedroom side showed obvious water damage and looked damp. I think the room had been cleaned well enough but everything was so old, I didn't really want to touch anything. There was no quilt cover, just a sheet under it, so who knows how dirty that might have been. Likewise, there was a water cooler in the room rather than supplying bottled water, but I didn't feel confident trying it and bought bottled water from the shop instead. I think they'd tried to make an effort to make the rooms colourful. That was a focus of the room pictures and also they have photos of different room styles downstairs in the breakfast room too, but it just looks a bit weird. In my room, it looks like they found a random outdoors picture on the internet and copy pasted some random English text over the top. So, there's a full wall sized advert for a foreign internet company. It just looks tacky on a bedroom wall! The shower is over a bath, which is pointless as the bath is about 1m long and so nobody would fit in it comfortably anyway. Of course, there's no shower curtain so everything in the wet room gets soaked when you have a shower. Also, there's a sign by the toilet paper dispenser telling you not to put paper in the toilet, so I put my dirty paper in the bin provided. Was quite shocked that they don't clean the room daily as it wasn't a pleasant smell a day later. The breakfast was very basic Chinese style. I've enjoyed the Chinese breakfast in every other hotel I've stayed here, but here it's basically only rice, tofu and pickled vegetables. The location is good though. Close to the train station, and so near to all the sights as well.
