This hostel has some genuinely strong points, but also several issues that stop it from being a great stay. It’s very much a mix of highs and lows.
The positives:
The common room is comfortable, with very good sofas and fast Wi-Fi (though it occasionally drops out — a router upgrade would easily fix this). There’s a shared kitchen with a labelled fridge, and the location is excellent for exploring Nagasaki.
Dorm rooms are good value for the price. Bed spaces are a decent size, with excellent blackout curtains that block light even if others leave the lights on. You also get a small lockbox for valuables.
The negatives:
Check-in is fully self-service with no reception. You’re given a folder with rules and keys, but if you need help, there’s no clear support — which can be stressful, especially for travellers without phone SIMs.
There is no lift. I stayed on the fourth floor, and the narrow stairs make carrying luggage difficult.
Facilities per floor are also limited: only one toilet and one shower shared between multiple dorms, plus the washer and dryer on the same floor, which feels insufficient and awkward.
Extras are all paid separately (towels, toothbrushes, earplugs, etc.). A towel really should be included at this price. Guests are also expected to ***** their own bedsheets at checkout, which feels excessive.
The common room layout could be improved. A large hammock takes up space and reduces seating — replacing it with chairs or bar seating would make the area far more usable. There were also staff or long-term workers frequently occupying the common room, which made the space feel less guest-focused.
Air conditioning is locked and cannot be adjusted, so if you’re too hot or cold, you have no control.
Would I stay again?
As a backpacker on a very tight budget, yes — tahe location and price make it workable. But if you can afford it, I’d recommend paying more for a private room nearby. There are many hotels in the area offering much better comfort and support.

GebifantongxueFirst off, the location is excellent, right near Chinatown, which made getting around super convenient – no complaints there.
As for the downsides, there are mainly two:
1. Poor soundproofing: At night, someone's snoring sounded like it was right next to my ear. Even earplugs couldn't block it out; it was just too loud.
2. Bad light-blocking: The lights from the hallway made the sleeping pod really bright, so I had to wear an eye mask.
Both of these issues really impacted my stay, and I honestly didn't get good rest during the two days I was there.

Ayumi,It was a truly wonderful experience, touring the island on a motorbike which I rented from the hostel. Especially, driving on the North-Western peninsula became an unforgettable memory.
Toured around several Catholic churches, watched the sunset over the sea, and drove to the tip of the peninsula. There were few cars on the road, so the journey to the torch felt as if I had the entire road to myself. It was absolutely special. I will definitely come back here someday in the future!
The owner is such a kind and helpful person. The hostel is simple, yet it's more than enough for a budget trip for one night. There was an adorable black cat in the shared space.

The hostel is nice with a nice layout that gives you some privacy. However since every bed has its own light people just kept it on the whole night so I couldn’t sleep. Also the dormitory is small and showers and toilets are inside the room and people started to use the hairdryer early in the morning. The owners are nice tho, and when I complaint they gave me an eye mask as a gift which was very thoughtful. Location is great.

Priscilla00The hotel is clean and newly renovated. It’s so good - there’s washer and dryer in the room (bring own detergent). Bathroom has bathtub. Public baths separated for men and women. There’s table tennis with bats and balls, at the lounge, for guests. Carpark is just at doorstep. Beautiful view - beach is about 10mins in front and 7-11 in front of hotel. Would stay again.
Delicious bento Breakfast is and has alot.

Very satisfied!
It was so good that I have no other words to say!
The owner and his wife were very polite and kind, and we had a very enjoyable stay!
The showers and toilets were clean, and it wasn't like a capsule hotel, with 5 rooms on one floor, so it didn't feel cramped! It was just like the photos, so I can see why other people have praised it!
At night, the statue of the 12 martyrs is lit up and you can see it clearly from the window!
There is a slope to the hotel, but it is close to Nagasaki Station, so it is good for people who want to go sightseeing right away!
The slope is quite steep, but other than that I am very satisfied!
I wasn't able to go to Gunkanjima this time, so the next time I go to Nagasaki for revenge, I will definitely stay at this hotel!

Guest UserI got the room near the elevator that I was hoping for. It was very clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi was a nice bonus, but since I forgot my charger, I tried not to use my phone much. They might have had chargers available to borrow, but it would be great if there was one in the room.

Guest UserA very clean, professionally run, well-managed place in a convenient location. They allowed us to change our room on the first night because of a slight smell, which was very kind. The second room had no issues. We appreciated having a bathroom with a drying function, since that made it possible to dry our clothes. My only minor criticism is that the pots in the kitchen were non-stick ones that were scorched and scratched, and there were no larger plates.

Booked for a night stay. I was able to add breakfast later.
The sound of the next room may be noisy because the surroundings are quiet
The bath is wide and you can take it slowly. I can't take it if I drink in town and get late.
we didn't have slippers...
I wonder if the bedding was a little hard and my back hurt.
Location is in front of the sea. It is close to the beach and the best.
The response at check-out was also good.
