5-Star Hotels in Tibet, China

When we were on our way from the airport to the hotel, the driver mentioned it was a really good hotel in Lhasa city. The hotel's style perfectly matches the local characteristics, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. On the day we checked in, they even gave us local yogurt, fruit, and red wine. There was also an oxygen machine and a humidifier next to the bed. When I got to the restaurant, I noticed a garden in the middle, perfect for a relaxing stroll. Our hotel butler, Tashi Drolma, was incredibly warm and helpful, always responding promptly and enthusiastically to any requests.

Excellent location, very close to Potala Palace. The hotel staff are warm, attentive, and very thoughtful. The breakfast selection is extensive. Special thanks to butler Jiang Cuo for his consistently high-quality service throughout our stay. Highly recommended!

The quality of Shangri-La Hotel is consistently reliable. They did their best to arrange an early check-in for us, allowing us to rest, even though the facilities are a bit older compared to newer hotels. However, the quality hasn't diminished. In particular, the oxygen generator in each room is a huge help for those experiencing altitude sickness. Special thanks to Xiao Zuo at the front desk for her warm service. Shangri-La will still be my top choice next time I visit Lhasa.

I absolutely love Farly Hotel. The staff, both the ladies and gentlemen, are incredibly kind and welcoming. The hotel offers a wide range of activities, like spinning prayer wheels and performing sang offerings. I particularly recommend the evening sound bath experience and the morning Pilates. The instructor's stretching exercises really helped improve my posture. I also woke up early to watch the sunrise, but there's a mountain to the east of Farly, so the sun actually appears about 45 minutes after the official sunrise time. Still, it was a beautiful sight.

Undoubtedly the best hotel in Jieba Village. It's a complete package with a restaurant, bar, lifestyle center, and various Tibetan-themed experience halls. The afternoon tea was excellent; the beef jerky and open-faced sandwiches were particularly delicious. The hotel's environment is top-notch, truly living up to Songtsam's reputation with tasteful colors and decor. Watching the sunset from their private pier behind the hotel in the evening was also fantastic. My daughter's beef burger from the Himalaya Restaurant was very authentic, and the breakfast spread was even richer, featuring local tsampa. Songtsam's staff are all incredibly welcoming. Our butler messaged us in advance with all the details and hotel menus. Throughout our stay, they sent thoughtful reminders via messaging. The pick-up, luggage handling, and valet parking services were all flawlessly executed. The smiles of the ******* young men and women were truly infectious. As for the evening drink, the tremella soup was thoughtfully placed in a thermos. I was quite full, but I took a small taste, and it was very good.

Returned to the Hilton Shigatse and loved it just as much as before! My account manager, Wang Haitao, called me in advance to check on my needs. Upon arrival, all the staff were incredibly warm and attentive. Manager Wang Haitao even personally came to my room to ask if I was feeling unwell and brought me fruit and dried nuts. My three days in Shigatse were very pleasant, both physically and mentally. Thank you, Manager Wang and all the staff. Wishing you all success in your work and good health! See you next year 👋

What an amazing hotel, the rooms are immaculate and mine had a view of Potalo palace. The food is delicious, amazing breakfast buffet with very high quality items and the restaurant food was succulent. Also. When staying at Songtsam, make sure to have a massage at their spa. The Spa lady Tenzin phuti is so knowledgeable and will give you a massage like you never had before. A must do at the hotel. Big thank you to Sonam, English speaking lady who took good care of me and her English was brilliant. Overall, Songtsam is an amazing hotel and you won’t regret staying there!

Before check-in, I was notified by phone that I had been upgraded to a villa suite. However, upon arrival, I found that the view was significantly worse than the standard room on the third floor that I had booked. Also, there was no underfloor heating in the living room, only in the bedroom area. The bedroom and living room were connected without a door, and my two friends who were traveling with me felt very cold (it snowed heavily that day, see video). They even had to bring extra blankets and a heater. It felt like the room upgrade was just to make room for others, as the villa suite was practically empty.

The service was professional and very supportive. We were greeted with a Hada upon entering, which was a lovely touch reflecting the hotel's local character, and the Hada itself was of good quality. The ******* ladies were beautiful, warm, and provided excellent service, while the young men were very helpful. Breakfast was also great; even as vegetarians, we found suitable options. Overall, our stay here was excellent. We are very grateful and wish the hotel continued success in its business.

She completely redefined my perception of high-end hotel service, making us feel incredibly warm and cared for in the high-altitude environment of the ******* Plateau. Even before our official check-in, Dekyi proactively reached out to us with thoughtful communication, meticulously inquiring about our travel times and specific needs for our stay. Given the unique challenges of Lhasa's high altitude, she patiently provided essential advice on traveling, rest, and diet for high-altitude environments. She even adjusted our room's equipment and prepared oxygen facilities in advance, tailored to our situation, to help prevent altitude sickness. By pre-arranging every check-in detail, she ensured we felt completely reassured and cared for even before we arrived. Upon arrival and during our stay, Dekyi's service continued to be meticulous and attentive in every detail. She was gentle and sincere in her demeanor, yet efficient and reliable in her actions, patiently following up on our experience throughout. She regularly checked on our well-being and meticulously answered all our questions about sightseeing and dining. Whenever we had a request, she was always there to respond immediately and resolve it efficiently and properly. Her service was just right—never intrusive, yet always comprehensive, balancing professionalism with warmth. In the unfamiliar high-altitude environment, Dekyi, with her twelve years of dedication and passion, provided care that felt like family. There was no perfunctory, by-the-book service, only genuine effort. Every single detail showcased the professional caliber of a high-end butler. I truly commend Dekyi (Nancy) for her outstanding service! It's because of dedicated, responsible, and warmly enthusiastic staff like her that our stay on the ******* Plateau was so exceptionally fulfilling and heartwarming. The next time I come to Lhasa, the InterContinental Lhasa Paradise will still be my first choice, and I will definitely be looking for Butler Dekyi again!
