We chose DoubleTree by Hilton because we trusted the Hilton name and wanted to spend our limited holiday somewhere memorable and genuinely pet-friendly. Instead, we spent three days stressed, watched and made to feel that our dogs — and therefore we — were not welcome. We left genuinely sad that precious holiday time had been exchanged for stress and unhappiness. Before booking, we called twice to confirm the pet policy. First, we were told we could choose any room and pay a RMB 300 pet cleaning fee. On the second call, another employee contradicted this. After calls were hung up on us twice while trying to communicate in English, a staff member eventually contacted us through WeChat and confirmed in writing that we could book and pay the RMB 300 fee. When we arrived, the rules changed again. Only after showing staff their own WeChat messages and watching them argue among themselves did they finally proceed. We provided vaccination and registration documents, signed the pet agreement, paid the fee and even allowed staff to photograph our dogs. We then completed check-in, left our belongings and went out for dinner. While we were already away from the hotel, they called saying they wanted to refuse our stay because of our dogs. First they were supposedly “aggressive.” When we explained they had shown zero aggression, we were told they “looked aggressive.” Then they were supposedly too large. Their own definition was over 30 kg, while our documentation showed 28 kg. Our dogs are professionally trained, have training certificates and regularly work as models for pet products. Most importantly, there was not one aggressive incident during the entire stay. Nobody even tried to observe their real temperament before judging them. Even the employee carrying our luggage wanted to photograph them again to report them as aggressive dogs. We refused. They were simply being judged because they were Dobermans. After a long argument, the hotel finally allowed us to remain. We tried to forget the situation and enjoy our holiday. Instead, the constant surveillance began. We followed the hotel’s rules and used the isolated designated pet grass area, far away from other guests. Yet staff who spotted us from a long distance would walk over, follow us, film or photograph us, report us to management and trigger further phone calls about our supposedly “aggressive” dogs. This happened repeatedly with different employees. We felt constantly monitored, as if staff were waiting for an excuse to complain about us. The hotel’s attitude toward animals also contradicted its pet-friendly image. On a very hot day, we noticed animals in the hotel area exposed to the heat without water and appearing overheated. We contacted the hotel. Two hours later, nothing had been done. We had to call and message repeatedly before anyone even agreed to check. General service was equally disappointing. Basic requests required repeated calls and long waits. Our first room remained around 21°C even with the AC switched off or set as high as 30°C. I woke around 2 a.m. because I was so cold and we eventually had to change rooms. The replacement was supposedly another pet-friendly room, directly next door, yet its garden access was locked and it lacked the protective pet sofa cover provided in the previous room. We called three times over more than two hours asking for one because we did not want our dogs dirtying the furniture. Eventually someone arrived — with a sofa pillow. The Western breakfast was also disappointing for this level of hotel. The Chinese selection was reasonable, but the bread and pastries were poor quality. Eventually I had enough and confronted the manager. Instead of addressing his staff’s behavior, he defended it because our dogs are Dobermans. Whe

This hotel is located within the forest park scenic area, which is very convenient for sightseeing. They also offer a dedicated shuttle service. While dining out isn't very convenient, you can order takeout, and the front desk will arrange for a car to deliver it right to your room. We were traveling with seniors and children, and the hotel thoughtfully suggested that the Jijiandi room type had many steps. They proactively moved us to the Fenghuangtai, which has a spacious private pool. Each room type is situated in its own independent area on the mountain, requiring a ride to access. For our baby's birthday, the hotel decorated the bed and even provided a cake – a very thoughtful touch! We experienced a distinct musty smell near the headboard due to the rain that day, which is understandable. It's a completely different experience than staying by the sea and definitely worth trying!

This stay truly exceeded my expectations, largely thanks to the exceptional service from our butler, Xiao Jin. I have to commend her highly. From her proactive inquiries about any special needs before check-in, handling the check-in process, reserving our dinner table, to assisting with various requests during our stay, and even arranging airport transfer after we checked out – Xiao Jin was always patient, responsive, and meticulously thorough. Her attentiveness to detail was evident, never intrusive, yet always there when needed. The professional and thoughtful service made our stay incredibly relaxing and comfortable. I'm thoroughly satisfied. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Yalong Bay, specifically by the Yalong Bay Totem Pole. The surrounding area offers plenty of shopping and dining options. While a few of the hotel's facilities were a bit underwhelming, it is, after all, an established high-end hotel with a rich heritage. Overall, it's highly recommended!

I absolutely have to give a shout-out to Ella, the butler at Wanda Realm! To be honest, the room facilities are a bit dated; you can definitely see the age in the bathroom and furniture. But that didn't detract from our experience at all, because the butler service was simply outstanding! From adding her on WeChat to communicate our needs during check-in, to receiving daily thoughtful weather and activity reminders, every request was met with a prompt response. The butler even specially delivered a fresh fruit platter to our room. And at check-out, she had prepared Hainan specialty souvenirs. The attention to detail was incredible, making us feel truly valued and pampered. Moreover, the hotel's outdoor environment is absolutely stunning! The sand on the beach is as fine as flour, the seawater is crystal clear, and every photo you take looks like a wallpaper. The complimentary travel photoshoot was an even bigger surprise; the photographer patiently guided our poses, and the results were simply amazing. We ended up buying a package of over twenty photos, which was far better than any roadside photographer – why even bother with a bicycle when you have a luxury car? (a Chinese idiom meaning 'why settle for less when you can have the best') Honestly, I truly believe that without the dedicated efforts of these high-quality professionals, this hotel would struggle to operate so smoothly. The hardware might be old, but the warmth of the people makes up for it. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who values service experience! Extremely satisfied with my stay. The sea view was fantastic! The weather was bad, so I stayed in the room the whole time and didn't get a chance to experience the pool. But this suite was truly excellent: clean, bright, and spacious. It had two separate bathrooms, and at night, the bedroom doors could be closed for privacy. Both rooms also had their own balconies. Although it's close to the airport and planes constantly flew overhead when on the balcony, you could barely hear any noise once the doors were closed. The downside: The food at the executive lounge was a bit disappointing. There was a limited variety of hot dishes, and all the desserts were mousse-based, which were both heavy and not very tasty. Wouldn't some regular cakes have been better?

My InterContinental Resort stay was fantastic this time. First, a big thanks to our butler, Bonnie Tan, for upgrading us to a Deluxe Seaview room. We could see the ocean and the sunrise, although it was a pity that heavy rain the first two days made the nearshore waters murky. As of now, after two days, the yellowish area has reduced by about a third; I estimate it will take a week to fully clear up. Yesterday, the sunrise was partly obscured by clouds, but it was still beautiful. The room layout was excellent, very spacious with a wide open plan. The bathroom had two sinks and a vanity, and the shower faced the sea, perfect for watching the sunrise in the morning. The bathtub was on the balcony; if I had stayed another day, I definitely would have enjoyed it. The Tianfu Chinese restaurant was delicious. They had a great value couple's set menu. The Crispy Pork Sandwich was perfect for those with a taste from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. The grouper felt like it weighed a pound, and the chicken fat rice was so good I posted about it on both Dianping and Xiaohongshu. Other à la carte dishes were a bit pricey, probably 300-400 RMB per person. The tennis court was affordable at 180 RMB an hour, including rackets. They were all Wilson rackets; I couldn't identify the model but definitely not the Clash series. There were two with thin grips and two with thicker ones. Like the court itself, they were quite old. The pink thin-grip one I used felt like the strings were a bit loose, not as tight as the blue thin-grip one. The staff also set up a table and chairs, providing towels and water, which was a nice touch. The hotel lobby had a very high ceiling, grand decor, and an expansive space that was truly refreshing, much better than the feeling I got at the Yalong Bay Marriott. All the staff were friendly and greeted guests, and service was very responsive, including the front desk, lobby, Tianfu Bay restaurant, family pool, tennis court, and even the maintenance staff on the beach 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Our stay at the Yalong Bay Mangrove Tree Resort was absolutely fantastic! Beautiful scenery, excellent service, and comprehensive facilities – we'll definitely choose this place again next time. We arrived at 1:30 PM and were able to check in immediately. We booked two nights in a Coconut Grove Seaview Room, which stated it offered a 20-degree sea view. Room 2327, which we were given, was the closest to the sea, and the balcony view was wonderfully expansive. Upon arrival, the front desk staff helped with our luggage and delivered it to our room. In the evening, we received welcome fruits and milk, and at checkout, we got a small gift – a truly special touch. The breakfast spread was rich and varied, and the dining environment was lovely. The hotel has several restaurants with reasonable prices, and the food was delicious in terms of taste, color, and aroma. The beach management was also excellent: safe storage for valuables, beach chairs and towels readily available, and lifeguards on patrol – everything was well taken care of. A big thank you to our butler, Coral, who responded instantly to messages and promptly resolved any issues perfectly. We are genuinely satisfied and look forward to our next stay!

Overall, I had a really enjoyable stay at this hotel. It’s worth noting that the hotel caters primarily to Russian tourists, so much of the signage, tours and information are aimed at Russian guests. As an English speaker, this sometimes made things a little more difficult, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying my holiday. When I arrived, I had a couple of issues with my room. The hot tub took over an hour to fill, and the water wouldn’t stay warm while it was running, so I wasn’t really able to enjoy it. The charging ports in the room also weren’t working, although the hotel kindly provided me with an adapter, which solved that problem. Unfortunately, the hot tub issue was never resolved. The breakfast was very good, with a nice variety of food each morning. The swimming pool was also lovely—warm, clean and a great place to relax. My biggest concern was the fish spa. I initially thought seeing a dead fish was just a one-off, but I noticed dead fish in the spa every day during my stay. That made me question how well the spa was being maintained, and I hope the hotel looks into this. The staff were always kind, polite and helpful, and despite the few issues, I had a lovely stay overall. With a little more attention to maintenance, particularly in the fish spa and the hot tub, this hotel would be even better.

Sheraton Haitang Bay has lots of kids friendly activities throughout the day and a mini train to take us through the prooperties (it goes to the next door JW Mariott properties as well). The family bicycle is also useful to take leisurely stroll around. We got a free upgrade to a room with swimming pool right outside our balcony which is fantastic - the kids love it! Late in-room dining of wenchang chicken rice and seafood fried rice were also delicious. Great experience overall

Our family's stay in Sanya this time was a great overall experience. The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient to get around, and it's very close to the beach, just a short walk away. The room was clean and tidy, well-equipped, and the bedding was very comfortable to sleep in. The staff were enthusiastic and polite, and responded promptly. The environment is quiet, perfect for seniors and children to rest. The breakfast selection was rich and tasty. Our comfortable stay definitely enhanced this trip. It's highly recommended for family travel, and we would consider staying here again next time.
