Hotel Seri Malaysia Genting Highlands

7.4/10
Posted on Jun 2, 2026
MYFaz Mhmd
I recently stayed at Hotel Seri Malaysia Genting Highlands for one night. The hotel has a rather dated appearance, and many aspects of the room, including the bed, wardrobe, and furnishings, seem unchanged for many years. While the room was spacious, the overall condition could benefit from refurbishment. The room itself was reasonably clean, but the bathroom was less impressive. There were visible signs of mould and some dirt buildup, particularly in certain areas of the toilet. One of the biggest drawbacks of my stay was the noise level. The hotel is located close to the main road at Gohtong Jaya, and traffic noise could be heard clearly throughout the night. As a result, I found it difficult to get a deep and restful sleep. Overall, the hotel may be suitable for a short one-night stay if you’re simply looking for a place to rest before heading to Genting Highlands. However, for a stay of two or three nights, I would probably consider other options, especially if sleep quality and comfort are important to you.

the toilet and room very clean. got iron at each floor and got parking space. located near Pantai cempedak just less than 10 minutes drive. Bonus point got TMG supermarket infront of the house very convenient to do quick shopping. i don't took picture of the house but really beautiful and cozy place, got bonding space at level 1 with small table tennis and corridor outside to chill

The room wasn't very spacious, but it was perfect for our family to gather together. It's not far from the city center and there are two shopping malls nearby, which was convenient for dining and shopping. We'll definitely choose to stay here again next time. Kuantan is a great destination for family trips.

Stayed here twice before and always had a good experience. This time, iron and ironing board no longer provided in room and we had to go downstairs to use them. It would be better if this is updated in the hotel info so guests can prepare and bring our own.no coffee or tea provided, and the towels were already quite worn out and fraying at the edges. Hopefully, these can be improved for the next stay.

1. Parking is self-paid, costing 65 cents per hour to the city council, except on Sundays and public holidays. 2. There are many eateries nearby, and it's within walking distance to Kuantan Tower or Padang as it's in the city center. 3. There is hotel parking available for RM3, but you need to get it verified at the counter every time you exit the hotel. 4. Staff are okay. 5. The building only has 4 floors. 6. The Wi-Fi and air conditioning are not strong. 7. The TV and bathroom are okay.

I stayed for 4 nights, and for three of them, I was the only one in the hostel (a huge plus, but that was just luck). There are no curtains, and there's a noisy fan in the middle of the room. As a hotel with private rooms, I think it's great, but as a hostel... I wouldn't recommend it. Also, it's always very humid there! I just found out about another hostel in this area that's cheaper, has capsule beds with curtains, washing machines, and isn't as humid, plus there's a shop a minute away. To sum up: should you book a private room? I think so, because I saw it and it looked good. Should you book the hostel dorms? No, it's humid and lacks privacy with no curtains. If you're not just staying for a weekend, you might consider it, as you'll likely be alone. I arrived on a Sunday, and all the beds were taken that evening, but everyone left in the morning, and no one else checked in. All the tourists are staying at the other hostel I mentioned above.

I decided to stay at this charming two-star hotel because of my Milkyway expedition near Pantai Tanjung Kempit. Being just a short 12-minute drive from the beach was a huge time saver! I booked a family room with a queen and a single bed. The rooms looked pretty clean at first glance, but under the bed was a mess. How did I find out? Well, my son accidentally dropped his Lego pieces under the bed! The bathroom was clean and worked well, though the sink and toilet water pressure could use a bit of a boost. After flushing, you had to wait until the toilet was full before you could use the sink. The shower head water pressure was great, though. For a hotel like this in Endau, Rompin, it seems to be well-maintained and a good value, especially since there aren’t many options in the area. Would I recommend this hotel to my fellow Milkyway friends? Absolutely! Honestly I forgot to get a photo of the room, but you can probably find one on their website. But I’ll show you some image from my Milkyway expedition just so you know where to stay if you’re planning to shoot Milkyway near here.

The surroundings of the accommodation offer a good atmosphere, and the room has a beautiful view. The cleanliness of the room could be slightly better, possibly due to the age of the hotel. Overall, it's an acceptable place to stay.
