Really loved my stay at Mokozoyo. It’s a small, clean, fun and cool hotel with a great vibe, and I loved the location and the price point. The whole place has so much character, with really cool art throughout. There’s also a great French restaurant downstairs, and hotel guests get a discount, which was a nice bonus. The little touches were great too, like the free snacks in the common area and being able to borrow a steamer easily. Staff were friendly and warm. Lots of cats around which is GREAT!! All in all, I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely come back the next time I’m in Penang.

The place is very nice, and the service is excellent. It's affordable for seniors, middle-aged adults, and children alike, and the air quality is great. There's also a morning market (pasar). Located near the Kek Lok Si Temple in Air Itam, it's a good choice.

The room was really unique and interesting, an experience I'd never had before. The location is excellent too; you can walk to all the nearby photo-op spots, and the closest restaurants are all delicious. Walking to Clan Jetties is also no problem. The free bus stop is just across the street, which is super convenient. I highly recommend staying here for both the ambiance and location. The Indian staff members at the hotel were all very friendly and would greet us proactively. We arrived at the hotel around 12 PM, right after our flight. One of the staff members said we could check-in early at 1:30 PM, so we left our luggage at the front desk and went out for lunch, thinking we could come back, change, and head out for some sightseeing and photos. However, when we returned at the appointed time, a different female staff member told us we couldn't check in until 2:30 PM. I simply mentioned that I was previously told we could check in at 1:30 PM, and she immediately became upset, telling me not to pressure or rush her. To accommodate her mood, my family of three quietly sat with her in the lobby for half an hour. After that, she simply announced that it was time to check in, without having received any calls or anything – it was just the scheduled time. All the other staff members at this hotel were very enthusiastic, but she was always unhappy and gave us a cold shoulder whenever we saw her. I hope she can find some happiness. I understand that the official check-in time is 3 PM. I was just trying to discuss an earlier check-in. If I had been told from the start that early check-in wasn't possible, I would have taken a taxi to a more distant area to explore and returned later. Travel time is limited, and I want to plan my trips more efficiently, not waste time waiting in a hotel lobby to check in. I'm not here to accompany her at work, and I hope she can be more professional and consider the needs of travelers. I really hope other guests staying here don't encounter her; everything else was perfect.

I had a pleasant stay at Summer Tree Hotel Penang. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and offers great value for money. The room was spacious, well maintained, and the bed was comfortable, making it a relaxing place to rest after exploring Penang. The location is convenient, with plenty of local eateries, cafés, and popular attractions within a short drive or walking distance. The staff were friendly, helpful, and check-in/check-out was smooth. One thing to note is that the walls are a little thin, so you may occasionally hear noise from neighboring rooms or the hallway. Parking can also be limited during busy periods. Overall, it’s a great choice for travelers looking for an affordable, clean, and conveniently located hotel in George Town. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Penang.

Place is so convenient, just next to Komtar, walking distance to Chowrasta Market. Lots of nearby halal cafe and famous chendol eating places. Hotel check in and check out was a breeze. Room is not so clean as see some stain on chair. It would have been much better if there's extra mirror as there's only the bathroom mirror. Missing a bedside table too. Place good for short stay.

This is the current condition of the room. booked it based on the reviews and photos we saw. , I would like to highlight a few things regarding the room. First, the room I booked looks quite different from the room I was given. The photos shown during the booking showed an outdoor view and a different room setup, but the actual room I received is quite different from what I saw in the booking photos. Also, the room does not have any soap or shampoo, and it is not as clean as I expected. The cups were also not properly washed. No tea and cofee When I first entered the room, I also noticed a strong smell, something like massage oil or medicated oil.

Stayed here for 1 night to visit the Georgetown Festival 2026. Hotel is right smack in the centre of Georgetown, opposite the famous Toh Soon Cafe (which is on the same row as Joja Bagels). The Michelin recommended peranakan cuisine Auntie Gaik Lean's is just around the corner. Peranakan Mansion is just a few metres away from Auntie Gaik Lean's. This is really the foodie's choice of location. Room is spacious, basic, clean and quiet despite being located on the first floor. Suspect they had spent a lot in noise insulated. Bottled water and tea making facility are provided in room. A large water dispenser is placed at the ground floor, which is very thoughtful considering the hot and humid weather in Penang. Recommended for those who would like to do walking tour around Georgetown.

Raia Hotel Penang is an older property, and it shows in the room maintenance. During my stay, the curtains couldn't properly darken the room, letting in too much light. On top of that, there was loud operational noise early in the morning from the kitchen hood starting up. It made getting a good night’s rest very difficult. Needs improvement in room soundproofing and blackout curtains.

It’s very accessible to any area you want to go within the town (by walk). Just a heads up - it’s super lively on saturday night on this alley, you can anticipating it. But the soundproof is pretty good, we still get a good sleep. Driving there is okay, but parking is limited on first come first serve basis. Room are spacious and clean. Basic amenities are available, not much but good enough (iron and water cooler is at the hallway btw). Overall verdict : All good, i would recommend it !
