Hotels with Pools in Tokyo

I come to Tokyo several times a year, staying a fortnight or more each time. This time I spent seven nights at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu. The room faced Hie Shrine. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows I could see the shrine's copper roof and half of Tokyo's skyline. The décor was modern without excess; the layout flowed easily, Bose speakers hidden in the walls, another set in the bathroom ceiling, connected by a 3.5mm jack. The curtains were motorized, though you hardly needed to close them. The turndown service. I would leave in the evening and return late to find the room changed: only the hallway light and bedside lamp left on, a bottle of water and a glass on the nightstand, two chocolates beside them. The evening tea and teacup, previously stored in the cabinet, had been moved next to the coffee machine. These changes were so slight you had to think back carefully to confirm they had happened at all. The temperature and humidity had been adjusted. As if the room itself remembered your habits. Room service fell short of the ryokan in Hakone or Lake Toya, but well above the ordinary hotel. Each day I made two or three cups of complimentary coffee, played music, read, wrote. In seven days I finished three books. The research ahead began to take shape. There were drawbacks. No washing machine, but a decent laundromat ten minutes' walk away—a chance to wander the streets of Akasaka. The room provided HDMI and ethernet ports but no cables; for those who came to rest, perhaps a mercy. The minibar fridge was mostly occupied by drinks for purchase, same as the Imperial, though there was still room for my sparkling water. The day I left it was half past five and fully dark. I could barely make out the faces of the bellhop and the taxi driver. Together they loaded my luggage into the boot. I wished the bellhop a happy new year in Japanese and told her I liked her hat. She smiled and returned the greeting. As the taxi pulled out of the underground drive, I thought of the inns Kawabata once wrote about: what had to be sought in the mountains of snow country can now be reached by elevator from the B2 exit of a metro station. I have watched the Shinagawa Prince Hotel loosen quietly over time, slip a little. That kind of decline is rarely one great error. It begins the day someone forgets to leave a glass of water, neglects to move a packet of tea, omits a newspaper. As for The Capitol Hotel Tokyu: in Japanese, what I experienced over these seven days is called ちょうどいい.

This is genuinely my favorite room in Tokyo! You get a direct view of the Tokyo Tower right opposite. The front desk service was absolutely excellent and incredibly warm. There was a lovely Chinese lady at breakfast who was worried about my food allergies; she insisted on explaining everything to me personally. And when I accidentally picked up some seafood, a server immediately noticed and came over to warn me. Fearing a misunderstanding, they even called the Chinese lady back to clarify. Seriously, it was fantastic. The value for money is outstanding. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit!

The room is spacious and sufficient spaces for a family of two to three. The hotel has amazing wellness facilities. However, the cleanliness and services are similar to a serviced apartment instead of a luxury hotel. The housekeeping staff are not attention to the details of cleanliness in the room. The address of the hotel is also confusing to the taxi and uber drivers, I have been there 4 days, almost all taxi drivers cannot correctly locate the drop off/ pick up point at the basement of the hotel. The hotel staff should promote and deliver the correct pick up/ drop off locations to those local drivers and taxi companies like the other 5-star hotel did in other cities. The food quality of breakfast is awkward, the dumplings were not cooked well and the lettuce of the green salad is not fresh at all.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise during my recent stay! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the warm and elegant atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. The room was spacious and bright, decorated in a modern yet tasteful style. The bedding was soft and comfortable, guaranteeing a good night's sleep. What truly stands out is the hotel's excellent location – within walking distance to several popular attractions and shopping centers, making transportation incredibly convenient. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, check-in was swift and efficient, and they even thoughtfully provided us with a guide to local dining spots. Furthermore, the breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, with both Chinese and Western dishes available. The freshly made noodles and baked bread were particularly memorable. In summary, this stay was perfect. Whether for business or leisure, I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and look forward to my next visit!

Right by Odaiba Station, making transportation, shopping, and dining very convenient. The room was spacious with a great view; you could see the monorail from the window, but there was virtually no noise. The main downside was the outdated bathroom, which lacked a separate shower and toilet. Also, some of the staff's service quality needs improvement. I saw an impressive advertisement for the buffet and wanted to try it. When I went to the restaurant, it was empty, so I went back to the lobby to ask a staff member. They simply told me the restaurant was on the first floor. Thinking I'd gone to the wrong place, I checked again. I asked another staff member, and got a similar vague answer, completely ignoring my question about why the restaurant wasn't open. Finally, I asked a female attendant by the elevator, and only then found out that the first-floor restaurant isn't open for dinner every night. It makes you wonder what the other staff members were doing...

Loved it! The room was clean and tidy with a well-designed layout. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the utensils and cookware you could need for breakfast and even full meals. The washing machine has both wash and dry functions, so no need to bring home a pile of dirty laundry. The surrounding area is very quiet, and it's within walking distance to Shin-Marunouchi, KITTE, LABI, and BIC CAMERA. A summer evening stroll by the Imperial Palace is also incredibly relaxing. The transportation is super convenient; the hotel is right above the C6A subway exit, with direct access to the Hanzomon Line, Chiyoda Line, and Marunouchi Line, getting you straight to Omotesando, Shibuya, and Ginza. The only minor downside is the lack of a scenic view from the window; aside from the rooms facing the Imperial Palace, you mostly just see the office buildings across the way.

We were traveling with our kids, and the hotel was beautiful, clean, and hygienic. It was super convenient to pop downstairs for shopping, with a huge supermarket and a pharmacy right there. Breakfast was also fantastic! We'd definitely choose this place again!

The room was nice and offered great value for money. The facilities are a bit old, but the service was excellent. Everything was pretty good, except for one male front desk staff member who was stingy and wouldn't give us water. The hotel is conveniently located, just a 10-minute walk from Ginza, which is fantastic.

Overall, I'd give it 4 stars, mainly for the location and the night view, though the hotel's facilities are a bit dated. 🚃 Transportation (very convenient) Take the Yurikamome Line to Daiba Station, and it's a 3-5 minute walk to the hotel. You even get sea views along the way. Downstairs, there's an Airport Limousine bus that goes directly to Haneda and Narita airports, which is super convenient when you're traveling with luggage. 📍 Location & Surroundings This deserves high praise – it's right in the heart of Odaiba. You can walk to Fuji TV, Joypolis (Sega Amusements), and the Gundam statue at DiverCity. Aqua City is right downstairs, so dining and shopping are a breeze. It’s perfect for families with kids or young travelers. 🌉 Night View (highly recommended) I booked a room on the Rainbow Bridge side, and the night view of Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Bay was truly amazing. Just sitting by the window and zoning out made it worth every penny. 🍳 Breakfast (average) The buffet offers a mix of Japanese and Western options, but nothing particularly memorable. The taste was just okay, and I felt it wasn't great value for money. 🏨 Facilities & Room (gripes) The decor is a bit old-fashioned. My biggest complaint is the hairdryer in the room – it's so old and weak; drying long hair was a real struggle. I hope the hotel replaces it soon. Other facilities were acceptable.

We booked Park Hyatt very last minute due to issue with our original hotel that we booked in Tokyo. We travelled with a 3 & 4 years old and the hotel was amazing. The playground across the hotel is a big plus. From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel very welcome and the process was very seamlessly. We left the first hotel fairly early and knew we couldn't get into the room but our plan was to go through Shinjuku and knew we wouldn't be back until later that day. The hotel lobby is on the 41st floor, you can see the entire city view and at night the sight is amazing. The hotel location is about a 15min walk to Shinjuku station which is not bad and there is a shuttle that runs every 30min as well. Concierge was very helpful with everything during our stay. Breakfast service was professional and efficient. The staff were very friendly with kids and not snobbish at all. The hotel is an iconic place, most of the time we took a taxi or delivery they know the hotel by name. I highly recommend anyone that would like to pamper themselves in Tokyo. The hotel is a bit dated by the upkeep of the hotel is very good. Only thing that was a bit annoying was the light switches since it's not modern you can't control some lights individually.
