A true gem of a hotel! It's exquisite, compact, and wonderfully quiet with excellent soundproofing. The staff provides exceptional, warm service. A few days before arrival, a butler reached out to confirm our itinerary. They offer a complimentary GL8 private car service for transfers to and from the station, and the butler promptly responds to any requests. Breakfast is a set menu; our room included two portions, which was more than enough for two adults and one child, especially since the noodles and drinks were unlimited. The most delightful surprise was the night amenities: face masks, earplugs, eye masks, and disposable bathtub liners – everything you could need! Upon departure, we received a thoughtful souvenir: a beautiful shoulder bag filled with Datong specialties like millet, dried apricots, yogurt, and oil tea. An all-around fantastic experience!

A very cozy and comfortable B&B, located right in the ancient town's pedestrian street, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling area. The courtyard is spacious, the rooms are clean, and all amenities are of high quality. Breakfast is plentiful, and the staff are friendly. The location is excellent, with all of the ancient town's attractions within walking distance, which is great when traveling with kids as it saves a lot of hassle. Plus, many popular restaurants often have long queues, but because this place is so close, you can easily grab takeout and enjoy your meal back at the hotel, saving a lot of waiting time. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Datong.

Our stay exceeded all expectations! We learned from the hotel staff that the hotel had just completed renovations. The lobby was impeccably clean with elegant European-style decor. Upon entering our room, we were immediately impressed. The ground floor also features a children's play area. The front desk service was warm and attentive. We had booked a Family Garden Room. To ensure our comfort, the staff kindly upgraded us for free to a Triple Family Garden Room, featuring a 2.1m king-size bed and a 1.8m queen-size bed. This spacious 63 sqm room comfortably accommodated our family of four without feeling crowded. The adorable cartoon bedding on the beds delighted our children as soon as they walked in. Check-in was efficient and quick. Our room had excellent natural light and boasted a 180° garden view. It was spotlessly clean, with every corner meticulously tidied. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a quiet and restful sleep. The amenities were thoughtfully provided, including a European-style deep soaking tub, a smart toilet, and brand-new Kohler bathroom fixtures, which gave us peace of mind. The in-room Wi-Fi was stable, and the room had good soundproofing, allowing for a deep and refreshing sleep at night. We had a truly high-quality rest. The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety of delicious options. We especially recommend the bean noodles, millet and red bean porridge, oyster sauce braised eggs, and the aromatic coffee. There were Chinese, Western, vegetarian, and local dishes available, all tasting fantastic. The four breakfast portions were more than enough for our family. Room cleaning was thorough, with no lingering renovation smells, and all details were well taken care of. As members, we also enjoyed free cancellation, making the booking process completely stress-free. This hotel is highly recommended for both family trips and short getaways! Its excellent location makes travel very convenient. The newly renovated rooms offer great amenities, the service is attentive, and the value for money is outstanding. We will definitely choose this hotel again for our next family trip and highly recommend it to friends traveling with children!

We came to Datong for a family trip and chose Dongxin Chengji Hotel. Overall, we were very satisfied. The room was more spacious than expected; the two beds were plenty big, and our child didn't feel cramped at all. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, so there was no morning rush or queuing to wash up. The front desk staff was very sweet and welcoming. The soundproofing was great at night, allowing our kid to sleep soundly and wake up fully energized—we didn't miss a beat exploring the Ancient City the next day! Getting around is also very convenient, with plenty of dining options nearby and cabs easy to catch right outside. We’ll definitely consider staying here again on our next visit to Datong.

I forgot to leave a review before, but even though the facilities aren't top-notch, the environment was quite peaceful. I'm not sure if it was because I requested a quiet room when booking, but our three rooms were on a floor where there were indeed no noisy drunkards or unruly children. Being able to get a good rest makes it a decent hotel. Some hotels, despite having great facilities, have terrible management, which is pointless... Breakfast was average; the lamb offal soup was pretty good, but you can't expect too much from breakfast at this level of hotel. Both service and breakfast were pretty standard, and overall, it wasn't a rip-off.

This was a last-minute hotel change for me. When I arrived, my room wasn't ready yet, but the young lady at the front desk immediately and proactively helped me switch rooms and upgraded me. The deluxe twin room was very spacious; it felt almost empty for just me. The room was very clean, the bedding had no strange odors, and the facilities were new. Both the bathroom and the washroom had motion-sensor lights, and the toiletries had a lovely, fresh scent. The only minor issue was the toilet flush button, which needed a firm press all the way down to flush properly. All the staff I encountered were very polite. Breakfast was extensive, and the staff were constantly attentive to your needs, whether it was refilling tea or getting condiments – they were right there to help, which was great. There are many good restaurants nearby, like Xijindao Noodle House and Tianyuan Beiweijia Feast. When checking out, they proactively gave me a thoughtful souvenir gift, including aged vinegar, millet, and some local specialty snacks, which was a very nice touch.

The room was very comfortable. Service: The room service was excellent. An auntie surnamed Cui and a young man (sorry, I forgot to check his name) who I believe are in charge of the executive floor, were very quick to respond. Late-night porridge: A bowl of millet porridge late at night is incredibly comforting for the stomach.

I stayed at the VIP Building for over ten days during my summer escape to Datong, and overall, I was very satisfied. It was an excellent choice. The hotel has a large footprint and a great location. You can walk north to the ancient city or south to large shopping malls like Parkson and Xingjuhui. Of course, taking a taxi is even more convenient; for around ten yuan, you can get to many places in the city. The hotel boasts a spacious courtyard, making self-parking very easy. There's also an underground parking garage with direct elevator access to the ground floor lobby. Within the courtyard, Datong Hotel and the VIP Building are arranged one behind the other. The courtyard is filled with fountains and greenery, creating a very pleasant environment. From the hotel courtyard, you can descend steps to Xinguo Temple and Yingbin Plaza. Even better, for those who find stairs difficult, there's a separate elevator for convenient access. The park isn't small at all; it offers a new beautiful view at every turn, and you can also visit the ancient Ming Dynasty Xinguo Temple. Hotel breakfast is served on the first floor of the VIP Building, offering both Chinese and Western cuisine. The selection is incredibly rich, and the best part is the abundance of hot dishes. The flavors are a refreshing change from the usual local fare—light, not spicy, and not greasy, making them exceptionally delicious. My favorite was the stir-fried tomatoes with eggs. The knife-sliced noodles are also a must-try; the chef slices and cooks them fresh right in front of you. Kuai Lei (a local specialty) is also a must-eat. Plates are cleared promptly, service is attentive, and they even offer takeaway service for those who sleep in. Lunch and dinner are served at the second-floor restaurant, offering good food at reasonable prices. Additionally, ordering takeout to the hotel is very convenient. There's a swimming pool with standard lanes on the basement floor, but during the summer, it gets quite crowded and a bit chaotic with many children learning to swim. There's a self-service laundry on the first floor of the hotel. The room provides unlimited drinking water, an iron, and buckwheat pillows, but there's no refrigerator, which is a bit inconvenient. We stayed in a suite, and while it had two bathrooms, only the master bedroom's bathroom had a shower and a bathtub. One minor complaint: the bathroom faucet splashes quite a bit if you turn the water on too strong. As for the service, we later upgraded to a room on the ninth floor for a few days. A special thanks to the cleaning lady; she was incredibly nice. The engineering department also provided us with assistance. In summary, this is an excellent choice for a holiday retreat: three meals a day, walks in the park, and convenient taxi access for exploring the city and shopping. It's truly the best option.

During my stay, I found the front desk staff member, Xiao Zhong, to be extremely professional. They were kind and friendly, and handled the check-in and check-out process efficiently. Whenever I had a request, they were proactive in helping to coordinate things, and communication with them was very pleasant. Their attention to detail was thoughtful, and their service felt genuinely warm, which significantly enhanced my overall stay. Definitely worth commending.

Let me talk about the pros. The breakfast was quite plentiful and tasty, 68 yuan per person. Our child, being 15, paid an extra 40 yuan. We booked three rooms together. The rooms were decent for a five-star hotel, and the lobby was beautiful. Now for areas for improvement. Aside from the good security guard at the entrance, the service could be better. Since it's a hot spring hotel, the hot spring itself is important, but it was rather mediocre. Of the 12 pools, some were 58 degrees Celsius, some 48 degrees, and only a few were usable and small. Also, because so many people were crammed into a few pools, they became quite dirty. All three families stayed for an hour before leaving. There were too many access control points. For a hotel in such a remote area, I don't understand why there were so many access control points and card swiping systems; it was very inconvenient. I didn't intend to give a low score because the front desk gave us a complimentary breakfast, which was a concession.
