AAnonymous UserThis is my second stay in a month! Last time, my husband and I made a spontaneous trip to Datong to see the grottoes and stayed here, and we were pleasantly surprised. This time, we specifically brought our elders to see the historical sites and stayed for a few more days, so of course we chose Nianxiali Hotel in the southeast of the ancient city. The hotel has a superb location; Lihuaijiao, next to Taipinglou, is a popular spot for taking photos, and it's extremely convenient to visit various attractions in the ancient city. The hotel is built in the style of a traditional northern courtyard house, with simple architecture and modern facilities, maintaining excellent privacy while being very aesthetically pleasing. On a nice day, it's very pleasant to sit in the courtyard. Even more valuable is the attentive service. The butler service goes beyond routine Q&A; every staff member at the hotel greets guests with a warm smile. The service details are also reflected in the thoughtful offering of hot tea and snacks upon arrival each day, and a souvenir upon departure, meeting all sorts of small needs while traveling. In addition, the hotel's pick-up and drop-off service is very high-end, with Mercedes-Benz or Alphard vans giving guests a sense of luxury. I've heard that Datong has a very festive atmosphere during the Spring Festival. I look forward to experiencing it next time!

Although the hotel is far from the ancient city, it is very close to museums and art galleries. Wanda Plaza is across the road, where there are two famous old restaurants in Datong, which are very convenient for eating, drinking and having fun. It is suitable for self-driving travel, and the underground parking lot is large. The hotel's buffet is great, especially the knife-cut noodles, mutton offal noodles and mutton dumplings, which are very authentic. The hotel room is well soundproofed and the whole hotel is very quiet.
Of course, there are some shortcomings. For example, in the early April weather, the hotel room was extremely hot and dry, and the air conditioner did not provide cold air. It could only open the window 24 hours a day to dissipate heat, and the temperature control was not in place. The curtains in the room are behind a whole row of sofas. There are no smart facilities. You can only climb up the sofa to open and close the curtains, which is very inconvenient. The hotel twin room only has a single bed of 1.2 meters, and the double room is only 1.8 meters, which is not friendly to families with children. I hope to add a parent-child room with two beds, one large and one small.

GGuest UserI highly recommend the Datong Hotel VIP Building. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the service is professional, and its location is convenient for getting around. We booked an Executive View Room, which offered stunning night views of the ancient city. The front desk staff also kindly helped us arrange transportation for our outings, which we truly appreciated.
Initially, we were hesitant to book this hotel due to some negative reviews on Ctrip. However, on our second night, we decided to give it a try, reasoning that it's an established and trustworthy brand. We were absolutely delighted with our stay after checking in!
There were a few minor shortcomings, which I already discussed with the front desk during check-out. I hope the VIP Building continues to improve!
I look forward to my next stay.
The three books provided in the hotel room were incredibly informative. They offered a deeper insight into Datong's rich culture, landscape, customs, cuisine, and beautiful sights, truly enriching my experience after exploring the city. The hotel might consider setting up a dedicated shop or counter to provide a way for interested guests to purchase them.

GGuest UserWe arrived at 7pm. The waiter Xiao Zheng warmly received us and instructed us how to take the elevator to the room. In the evening, he also considerately sent us a bowl of longevity noodles. The baby is a big kid, and the shoes provided by the hotel are a bit small. That night, the housekeeper was very enthusiastic to find a pair of suitable slippers for us. The hotel did not have a refrigerator, and the housekeeper brought ice. We always felt that this service was what a resort hotel should have. Because we predicted that the hot spring would be changed that night, we decided to take a hot spring bath the next day. To be honest, the facilities are lacking, and the hot spring water is not live water, and there is no filtration. It started at 9 o'clock, and we went to soak before 10 o'clock. There were already some stratum corneum. The pavilion was filled with new water, but it also needed to be cooled down before we could go. In short, the hot spring facilities need to be improved. In addition, I want to say about smoking control. I hope the service staff can stop guests from smoking in the indoor hot spring area. There are many children, which is very inappropriate.

The hotel is very new, the service is warm, and seeing that we brought two children, they gave us an extra children's breakfast coupon. Overall, I am very satisfied, but I have one shortcoming: there is no place to hang towels in the bathroom and washbasin. It is recommended to install it, otherwise where to put clothes and towels when taking a bath.

BB.WuThe hotel receptionists and manager were very welcoming and proactively introduced the hotel facilities to guests. If you don't want to go out in the evening, there's also a Chinese restaurant. Special praise goes to Aunt Jia, who cleaned the rooms; she was incredibly warm and meticulous, keeping everything tidy.
