2-Star Hotels in Datong

Stayed for three days and even received a small gift upon leaving. This is definitely a female-friendly hotel, providing complimentary sanitary pads for guests. It's a place with a lot of heart. The 12-person dorm room offers the best value for money and comes with a private bathroom. It's conveniently located, with plenty of dining options within about 500 meters.

This hotel is located in the heart of the ancient city of Datong. Although there were few steps of staircase leading to the entrance of the hotel and the reception was on level 2 and our room type was only available on the 3rd level. Upon check in the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo was very helpful and she helped us to carry our luggages to our room at level 3.. There was a small window in our room overseeing the street. The room was spacious and very clean. All corners, fixtures and furnitures in our room were wiped very clean. All amenities were provided inside the room too. The bed mattress and pillow were soft and very comfortable. Body gel, hair shampoo, hair conditioner, hand wash and clothing detergent were all good quality. 2 water bottles, toothbrush, hair comb and slippers were provided in the room. There were space to hang our winter clothing and also washed socks and inner wears. The air-conditioner was superb as it can be adjusted to 4 types of air:normal, wet reduction, cold air and warm air, hence it made our stay more comfortable. There was also an air freshener machine in the room to refresh the air inside the room. So far this is the cleanest hotel room throughout all my China trips. The housekeeper was friendly and ensure the room being cleaned up daily. Overall, I would like to compliment the hotel staff by the name of Xiao Guo for her hospitality and kindness in helping us when we asked her for any information about Datong and places to eat. Xiao Guo always smilling and her warmness has let us felt very welcomed as a hotel guest. Another compliment was to be given to the housekeeper old lady who really did a great job to ensure the cleanliness of our hotel room and the entire hotel public areas. Highly recommended this hotel to all tourist.

We had a happy experience checking in at this hotel. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. We loved our room! It was bright and cheerful and spacious. The shower and drainage was very good. Location is fantastic, near the railway station and many bus services, especially for going to Yungang grottoes. There was a mall, with a hypermarket in the basement and minimarts around. What we like most was there was a washing machine and dryer for guests to use, free of charge! If we ever come to Datong again, we would stay here. Highly recommend this place!

The room was spacious and the bedding was clean, which I was very satisfied with. The only downside was that parking was only allowed on the sidewalk, and not in front of the hotel; you had to park in front of someone else's house, which made me a little uneasy. Overall, it was pretty good.

It is two kilometers away from the ancient city of Datong. You can achieve sightseeing freedom by scanning an electric shared bicycle downstairs. If there is a laundry room for facilities, it would be great, because in summer, there are more clothes that are sweaty and not washed. There is no laundry room or drying room for long stay, the hotel can change the operation strategy. There are also bath towels that are disposable, although convenient but very thin, and the experience is not good.

Ok so here is my Honest review of this brand new hotel in Datong. I understand this is a brand new hotel so I hope this could help as a honest review. -Staff are helpful even for foreigners. They do their best to accommodate your questions and are very friendly. -Rooms are clean with all the necessary amenities. -Rooms dont smell like cigarettes/smoke unlike gmost other hotels. -Rooms are fairly spacious. -location is good, its still a fair 15-20min walk to alot of the sights such as the wall or the drama play but it is close to the fortress wall down south. -WIFI is very good, great signal. Things that i think need working on - The hotel is a little bit difficult to find, i dont recall seeing a sign, maybe becsuse it is brand new. I had to go into a neighbouring hotel to ask if it was the correct one and they helped me call this hotel and actually guided me here. - Although it says I have a courtyard window it is actually facing inside (as the rooms are undeeground) and the window is facing the hall way lol. - my biggest complaint is the lack of toilet roll, i was given one roll (which is fine) but the next day they didnt replenish it resulting in me running out...luckily I always keep tissue with me (A must in china for the public toilets) - As its basement level its hard to pick up reception on your phone. Overall, value for money I think is great for the location and the cleanliness. A few things to work on but its understandable for a new business.

The room is really big, clean and tidy, the whole house is smart and convenient, and the floor-to-ceiling windows have a great view. The most important thing is that I think the location is very good. It is close to Datong South and it is very convenient to go to Yungang. It is in the same direction. Facilities: good Health: good

Extremely happy with my stay here! Room is very spacious and clean, and I was within walking distance to most of the attractions and restaurants. The staff here are very friendly and they always went out of their way to make my experience in Datong memorable! I'm especially grateful because the manager showed me how to order food from local restaurants using my phone and get it delivered straight to my room! 10/10!!

The location is super close to the ancient city, you can basically bike to all the attractions you want to see there. The environment is great, and the auntie cleans the common areas spotlessly every day. She's also very enthusiastic and gives recommendations for nearby sights. The facilities are complete, and I especially loved having multiple shower stalls! The female dorm even has a dedicated vanity area, which is amazing. The only small issue was that the Wi-Fi on part of the second floor of the female dorm was a bit spotty. I originally booked for four nights, but I loved Datong so much that I extended my stay for another night to get some good rest. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Datong!

The room was perfect. Warm and clean. Shower works perfectly. Staff very helpful. Very interesting building. A little far from the centre.
