As the evening lights begin to shine, the grey brick walls of Datong Ancient City start to glow with a warm light, and the neon lights on Gulou East Street illuminate the millennia-old smoke and fire. Your journey's destination awaits in the lights of Pingcheng Hidden Architecture - choose a corner of the ancient city's heart, a secret place, and let your local life begin from the moment you check in. The smoke and fireworks, along with the poetic charm, beneath the ancient city roots Pushing open the red door of Southeast Town, one can feel the age-worn patterns on the brick walls. Strolling along Gulou East Street, one can see the "Datong Fenghua" archway outlined in gold against the night sky. The hotel is just a few steps away from the heart of the ancient city, where the glazed tiles of Chunyang Palace, the carved beams and painted rafters of Guandi Temple, and even the weathered crenels of the ancient city walls are all within easy reach. Visiting Gulou at night, one can see the three-tiered eaves swaying in the light, and hear the sound of bells and drums echoing through time. Occasionally, one may stumble upon a Qin Opera performance on the street, allowing the intangible cultural heritage tunes to lull one into a dreamland. The bustling radius of the Baisheng business district Tired of ancient charm? Turn the corner and you'll encounter the modern vitality of the Baisheng business district. Walk 10 minutes from the hotel, dive into the snack street for a bowl of copper pot lamb shabu shabu, take a bite of Gulou dumplings, or find a unique cultural and creative product from northern Shanxi in the shopping mall. Visit attractions during the day and explore the business district at night. Pingcheng Yinzhu will help you save the trouble of rushing around, leaving time for your passions. Butler-style service, local experience officer We are not just a place for accommodation, but also your guide to Datong: providing hand-drawn maps of the ancient city, off-the-beaten-track travel tips for attractions, and even helping you book tickets for Jin Opera and arrange for ancient costume photo shoots. In the morning, you will be woken up not by an alarm clock, but by the morning light shining through the archway outside your window; before going to bed, you can listen to the butler tell you stories about the city of "Datong and Ping", so that your dreams will be imbued with cultural fragrance. Stay in the ancient city night captured in the photo The Sudoku puzzle attached to the article depicts the daily scenery outside your window: the golden night view of Chunyang Palace, the neon archway on Gulou East Street, and the shadow of the character "Yi" on the Guandi Temple... No need to deliberately check in; just open the window and you'll see a vast view. When visiting Datong, don't let accommodation become just a transit stop on your journey. Choose Pingcheng Yinzhu, and let the bustling life and poetic charm of the ancient city, as well as the prosperity and convenience of the business district, become part of your everyday travel experience. Book now, and let our butler customize a slow-paced trip for you in the ancient city

GGuest UserHad a lovely stay here! I was in a 12 bed dorm but the room is very spacious and has a private bathroom/shower, all super clean, and then bed was comfy. The only thing is that the bedlight makes a sound every time it’s turned on/off: it’s funny but I was a bit worried to bother other guests. Ah, I was also able to do my laundry with no fees and was even given a little welcome bag. The location although not within the city walls is close to several bus stops and one can ride a bike easy to all the major attractions ~ which was a lovely way to explore Datong. The best thing is the staff though: incredibly helpful and friendly. On my last day they let me stay past the checkout time so that I could keep on working using their WiFi which was a massive massive help, and offered to lend me an umbrella and drive me as the rain was so heavy. Most def recommend staying here when you visit Datong!

MMethilanI spent nearly a week at Datong Milan/Magnolia Hotel (Dai Residence branch) and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay Location: - Nestled a quieter part of the ancient city, that provided a peaceful retreat after each day of exploring. - 10 minutes to some of the attractions of the old town - 15-20 minute walk to the popular restaurants and more attractions - 30 minute walk to Huayan Temple and its nearby street markets. I'm always happy to walk but if needed, I could always use DiDi to take me around. Falling asleep without street noise is something I like. There is a bit of building work going nearby, which is happening all over Datong Ancient City, but nothing too major. Nearby is the Ancient City's wall, but walk past that and you can see the locals dance in the morning in the park or walk along the canal/moat in the evening. Room: The room was surprisingly spacious, offering plenty of room to spread out and relax, a welcome change from cramped city accommodations. The staircase is a bit narrow, so those with lots of big luggage might struggle (no lift) Importantly, it was very clean and well equipped. I especially liked the Chinese tea ceremony set! Service: - Despite a noticeable language barrier, everyone went above and beyond with smiles, helpful gestures, and clear efforts to communicate. - Especially the manager, who told me about local food to try, things to do and asked if I needed anything. She noticed that I was bringing back leftovers from the restaurant, and bottled drinks from the shops, and said I could use the fridge. - I can't speak Chinese so when the delivery driver came to drop off my order, the staff will take it from the reception and bring it to me. - Unfortunately, breakfast isn't available here - Drinking water topped up. Humidifier and mosquito repellent were provided when needed. I will not hesitate to book here again on my next visit and I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking comfort and genuine warmth in Datong!

MM516789****The hotel is in a good location, near the train station and surrounded by shopping districts for convenient dining and shopping. In addition, the hotel also provides breakfast delivery. After booking breakfast, you can pick it up at the counter at 7 o'clock. The facilities are very new, clean and hygienic. The front desk is enthusiastic and very happy to help travelersđŸ‘đŸ»

NNoodle KnightLocation is near Datong Ancient City Wall, quite convinient if you want to walk to go inside ancient city. Near hotel there are restaurant and mini market, location is not difficult to find. Room is very neat and tidy, technology of the hotel room is really cool, when you put turn the electricity of the room, the curtain will automaticly close, lamp near the sink will automaticly light when you walk near. Really awesome! Also receptionist lady is very friendly, there are free self serving laundry too! You can go to building beside hotel in the morning to get breakfast using breakfast coupon. You will be budgeted certain amount and can choose variety of food there. There are sausage, noodles, soup, porridge, and hot drinks. We stay during winter, so hot soup during cold weather is the best. This is worth the price for 3* hotel!

é»„é»„ć–„ćšThe hotel was the priciest that we stayed at during our 45 days in China, though the beds, space, and bathroom were the nicest out of them all. For the price, I would’ve hoped that the staff would’ve been a bit more helpful—no elevator and many bags to carry up the three flights of stairs was really quite difficult. The staff also don’t speak any English at all, and my friend doesn’t speak any Chinese, and we didn’t really understand that you needed to put down a deposit of 100rmb that would then be refunded to you (or that they needed a Chinese phone number too; I didn’t have one, and as a foreigner traveling through China, if I had been by myself or didn’t know or have any Chinese friends with Chinese numbers, I would’ve been unable to check-in). The hotel was very nice nonetheless. Fantastic location, very close to everything. The walk to the old city wall took about an hour, and would’ve been a ten minute taxi ride. The street the hotel is located on is full of lots of local shops and restaurants, and feels very lively during the day. The staff was also very friendly and enjoyed speaking with the foreigner at the hotel (although I had some trouble understanding the Shanxi accent! Jin Chinese is not my strongest!). The WiFi was a bit slow. But the beds were incredible. Huge, clean, soft. Pillows were lovely. Bathroom was huge. Just wish there’d been a bit more service from the front desk. Was a tad weird to get up at 5:50am to go to the Hanging Temple æ‚Źç©șćŻș, which is very normal, to see the woman at the front desk asleep
it was fine, but still a bit weird.

PPatr1kA bit tricky to find without Chinese. The easiest is to look for the fotos of the building on Amap. Contactless check-in so you’ll need to contact them by WeChat (best case before your arrival). The capsule was comfortable, unlike the pillow which was really hard. The overall cleanness is okay and the capsule has everything one needs. Not a big fan of allowing smoking in the toilets though

GGuest UserI enjoyed my stay at this hotel. There is quite a bit to see around Lingqiu, and I should have stayed one extra night or two. Miss Liu (战氏槐), the front receptionist, was extremely helpful, even going all the way to accompany me to the bus stop to catch the bus heading to the Pingxingguan Battle site. Miss Liu also assisted with booking a cab for my visit to the Jueshan Pagoda. This famous Pagoda was founded before England was established by William the Conqueror (if I am wrong, then pardon me, but the Pagoda was built sometime before 1077 A.D. during the Northern Wei Dynasty). Miss Liu also directed me to the gravesite of King Wu of the Northern Wei Dynasty which is right in downtown Lingqiu. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance of this hotel. One restaurant, next door to the right of the hotel, serves a wondering braised fish; the other a few doors away, sells delicious meat pies. My room was professionally cleaned and serviced daily. The hotel even allows me to doze off on the reception floor sofa to await my night train to Beijing. I will return to this hotel if I return to Lingqiu.

VVSTWe enjoyed our three nights stay in this hotel. Quiet and clean except for some not so pleasant smell from the bathroom. The staff are very friendly, helpful and responsive. This includes the free pickup transport driver, the front desk staff and the janitors as well. The breakfast provided by the hotel was so delicious and nutritious, too. We enjoyed the three mornings breakfast with different menu for three consecutive days. The chef and his wife were also very cheerful to see us enjoy their cooking. 👍👍👍👍👍 This hotel is located near to Datong South Railway Station. If you are using the public bus, there are five buses passing through :#68,#66,#61,#31,#14. Bus #68 & #66 also go to the city. The traveling time from the hotel to the city by public bus is about œ an hour, ticket price is 2 Yuan each. It's only 20mins by taxi, 15-20 Yuan. There are also some eating shops nearby...

GGuest UserThe room was warm and the temperature was just right. Hygiene is also clean. It was a good stay with children. Maybe it happened to be the off-season, and I often went there to find the front desk but couldn't find the boss or service staff.
