Good location, quiet and comfortable room with views of the city gate. Was asked all kinds of questions when checking in (where I was going, what I was travelling for, where I was coming from and how I got to Datong. They even asked to see my train ticket!). Being interrogated on arrival doesn't feel very friendly, and nowhere else in Datong or other parts of China was I asked these questions.

Our stay was excellent.
We particularly appreciated the services of the housekeepers Ms Du 杜金燕 房務中心領導 and Ms Li 李立苹 房務清潔員 and also a Ms 崔 who were most professional, courteous and promptly responded to all our queries and needs.
We would love to stay here again if we come by Datong again.

Super! They have bathtubs (a rarity in China) and a swimming pool! I booked this place after leaving another hotel and had no idea it's has 5 stars. It's very fancy. The beds are incredibly soft and comfortable. The staff is generally kind and helpful, except for the restaurant staff, who seemed not very cultured. The hotel hosts a lot of businessmen and wedding parties, so you have a few guys smoking at in the hall at night, but it's not a big problem. The rooms are quite big so the noise doesn't carry very far.

Old hotel but in a very nice location. Service attitude is terrible from front desk to the restaurant staff. Almost as if you are a burden on them as a customer. Morning breakfast extremely unclean, especially when staff does not even bother to clean up the table when the patrons leave and the next one is seated. Would not stay again.

Travel to Datong
Service: Very considerate. The cleaning lady was afraid that the room would be dry, so she asked if we needed a humidifier and gave us a glass of lemon.
Facilities: The facilities are complete and the beds are very comfortable.
