JJennifer (Jenna) ClarkeThis hotel is a pleasant 1 hour and 45 minute drive from Vientiane. The room was comfortable with a lovely view of the forest. The staff were friendly but not many speak English which is totally OK. The resort makes sure it employs local people from the area which I respect whole heartedly. Fortunately there was a lovely and attentive staff member called Bounthone who ensured I got everything I needed and helped me interpret. I left him a tip to show my appreciation. The manager Mr Xay was friendly and willing to assist when needed.
When I first arrived it was the last day of Pi Mai ( Laos New Year) so it was extremely busy with guests coming up for day trips. The day after was quiet and peaceful.
This time of year is dry season. I was disappointed that there was no water in the river and the waterfall as I was looking forward to a fresh water swim! I recommend a visit in the rainy season!
It was a comfortable stay. The food was okay. I will return when there is water in the river.

AAModernMusafirI stayed at Settha Palace Hotel during my visit to Vientiane, and overall, it was a decent experience with a mix of positives and areas for improvement.
The hotel’s location is definitely one of its biggest strengths. It’s right in the middle of everything, close to the river and within easy reach of the main Songkran celebration areas, which made getting around very convenient.
The property itself has a charming Lao-French colonial style. While it is an older hotel, it has been maintained reasonably well and retains a certain classic character. The staff were excellent, professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, which added positively to the stay.
However, the room was somewhat disappointing. While the minibar was well stocked, basic amenities were missing, not even essentials like a toothbrush or shampoo were provided, which was surprising for a hotel of this category. There were also some maintenance issues: the bathroom had leaking pipes, and the air conditioning wasn’t working initially, though to their credit, they promptly sent a technician to fix it.
The pool area is visually quite pleasant, surrounded by greenery, giving it a relaxing vibe. That said, there were quite a few frogs around the pool, which became a bit irritating. While I personally didn’t mind, some other guests, especially European travelers, were clearly uncomfortable.
Overall, it’s a good property with great location and strong potential, but it could significantly improve with better room maintenance and attention to guest amenities.

GGuest UserThat Luang was within walking distance. The restaurant was right in front of the hotel, so it was fine even when it was raining. The mall and convenience store were a little far away, so walking would be difficult.
The hotel was excellent, with a bathtub. There were also two showers, so you could fill the bathtub with water while showering. The staff were very kind. Daily cleaning was thorough, so I had a comfortable stay. Breakfast was included, but I had to pay for dinner at the restaurant. It was high quality and delicious. I had a wonderful time.

MmisukanEvery time I have a layover in Vientiane, Laos, I stay here. The shuttle service is incredibly convenient. The breakfast starting at 6:30 AM also gives me enough time to catch my domestic flight from the airport. I'll definitely keep staying here in the future. This time I got a membership card that I can recycle, but I'm not sure how to use it?

MM898737****The hotel is conveniently located between the airport and the city center, and they offer free airport shuttle service. The front desk staff, especially the lady at reception, was incredibly helpful. If you book 5 rooms or more, they also provide a complimentary train station pick-up/drop-off. The entire hotel, from the lobby to the rooms and amenities, felt very high-quality and well-maintained. A huge plus is the upstairs area, which includes a sauna, bathhouse, massage services, and a KTV restaurant. Their check-in and check-out policies are also very flexible, which is a great perk.

We booked 2 nights for a deluxe double room and got upgraded to a vip room 😊. The room was spacious but we were disappointed because the room was not clean… table, floor was dirty… the swimming pool can not use… basically we didn’t expect much but were disappointed still😅
