Guest UserDelicious food and incredibly lovely staff! From the security guard to the housekeepers and front desk, everyone was so sweet. Anything we needed, they were quick to help us out. This is my second time staying at this hotel, and the atmosphere is just fantastic!

Fitria LingStayed at Ibis Vientiane and had a pleasant experience overall. The hotel is located right in the heart of town, making it very convenient to explore nearby restaurants, cafes, and attractions.
The room was relatively spacious compared to many budget hotels, and the bed was very comfortable, allowing for a good night’s sleep. The staff were friendly and provided good service throughout the stay.
Areas for Improvement:
The hotel seems to prioritize energy conservation, but the lighting in both the room and common areas is quite dim. At times, it felt a little uncomfortable, especially during the evening.
Another issue was the wall power outlets, which were rather loose and flimsy. They could not properly support my heavy-duty travel adapter, so I had to improvise by using a bottle to hold it in place while charging.
Slippers are not provided in the room by default and need to be requested separately. While the staff were helpful, having to contact reception and collect them added a bit of inconvenience.
Overall: A comfortable and well-located hotel with good service and decent room size. With brighter lighting and improved power outlets, the stay would be even better. 4/5 stars.

I stayed at Settha Palace Hotel during my visit to Vientiane, and overall, it was a decent experience with a mix of positives and areas for improvement.
The hotel’s location is definitely one of its biggest strengths. It’s right in the middle of everything, close to the river and within easy reach of the main Songkran celebration areas, which made getting around very convenient.
The property itself has a charming Lao-French colonial style. While it is an older hotel, it has been maintained reasonably well and retains a certain classic character. The staff were excellent, professional, friendly, and always willing to assist, which added positively to the stay.
However, the room was somewhat disappointing. While the minibar was well stocked, basic amenities were missing, not even essentials like a toothbrush or shampoo were provided, which was surprising for a hotel of this category. There were also some maintenance issues: the bathroom had leaking pipes, and the air conditioning wasn’t working initially, though to their credit, they promptly sent a technician to fix it.
The pool area is visually quite pleasant, surrounded by greenery, giving it a relaxing vibe. That said, there were quite a few frogs around the pool, which became a bit irritating. While I personally didn’t mind, some other guests, especially European travelers, were clearly uncomfortable.
Overall, it’s a good property with great location and strong potential, but it could significantly improve with better room maintenance and attention to guest amenities.

Every time I have a layover in Vientiane, Laos, I stay here. The shuttle service is incredibly convenient. The breakfast starting at 6:30 AM also gives me enough time to catch my domestic flight from the airport. I'll definitely keep staying here in the future. This time I got a membership card that I can recycle, but I'm not sure how to use it?

The room is excellent. Very spacious, nice balcony and good size bathroom. Unfortunately the door to the balcony was not fitting right, so there was always a 1-2 cm gap either on the left or the right side. That way it got hot very quick.
The wifi in our room was basically non-existent, so be prepared to have a lot of mobile data if you want to do anything from just searching the internet to streaming a movie.
The location ist fine, about a 20 minute walk to the more busy area.
The breakfast was horrible. We arrived in the middle of service, and everything was ice cold. The toast had a very bad taste and was squished, rice, eggs, protein and other things were cold. We mentioned it to the staff, who took our plates and microwaved them. We didn't eat a single bite, and went to some of the very nice bakeries near the center which are excellent.
The hotel seems to be a hotel for large Chinese travel groups, which were very loud, tried breaking into our room (likely they mixed it up but didn't speak enough English to explain themself).
For the room it is a great value for money, but don't count in the breakfast in any way, and be prepared to be disturbed by Chinese travel groups.

wave.npkOverall the hotel is okay, but the air conditioning in my room was not cool at all. I turned it on at 16°C from 6pm until 10pm and it was still not cool. I called the reception several times and they didn't answer. I had to go down and ask them to come and look. When the staff came up to look, they said they would change the room for me, which was very late and I didn't want to waste time packing my bags and moving rooms, so I didn't change rooms. However, I think that a hotel of this level should check the readiness of the room before letting customers stay. The Wi-Fi is also quite slow. Personally, I am not very impressed with the price I paid.

Guest UserThe hotel staff were amazing, so friendly and welcoming. The place was spotless, really clean. It's super close to the scenic area, and parking is convenient, making it easy to come and go. Overall, it's a very comfortable stay. They have an outdoor pool and a gym, which I used daily for my workout before going for a swim.
