Spa Hotels in Calgary

This time I came to Calgary with my friends. The hotel is a little old and there are many shortcomings in the details. It really needs daily renovation. The advantage is that the bed is very comfortable to sleep on.

The room is quite large, well-equipped, the breakfast is simple but the taste is OK, the hotel is walking next to the supermarket, the price is good! It is some distance from the airport. The hotel has a five-meter high slide for swimming.

Check-in was fast, room was clean, sheets were soft, shower pressure was amazing, breakfast was solid, great stay overall.

Not our first time staying here -but we left with a sense of frustration today! It began when the front desk couldn’t find our reservation - twice ! (despite a phone call 2 hours prior to check in). Had to take my driver’s licence and go “somewhere to talk to someone in the back” - then he came back (after 2 or so  minutes) and “magically” the reservation had been found. Unnerving for my identification to disappear from my sight. No explanation offered. Frustrated again at check out when the desk clerk tried to charge us for something from the snack bar in our room - we had literally left our room 2 minutes before. Couldn’t tell us what item we had “consumed” (we hadn’t consumed anything - especially at those prices!) and then when asked how they could possibly know within 2 minutes (of us leaving our room) that an item had been consumed - they became very defensive and couldn’t actually answer the question of “how do you know what to charge us for” and the response was “it’s for the report at the end of the day - no one is saying you actually took anything”. Except that’s exactly what the desk clerk said the charge was going to be for - “an item from the snack bar for a total of $4.20”. After challenging the charge we were told that no charge would be put through on the credit card. Made to feel like we had “stolen” something when we asked for further clarification on the charge. “No apologies or thank you for staying with us”. Disappointing. Side note - Service in the ****** was great - including the restaurant.

I came to the hotel by taxi so I don't know access. It's not such a big hotel. The room was large and clean. I asked for a taxi at 6 am at 7:30, but the receptionist couldn't take over at the time of the morning change, and the taxi didn't come. I had him call me back immediately, but he couldn't make it in time for the tour. The restaurant at the hotel was a bit expensive but delicious.
