Amazing
GGuest UserThe aparthotel is brand new and is superbly located 100m away from the 900 year old Round Church. A short walk south leads to the colleges and a short walk north leads to the River Cam and the boat clubs. The bus to and from the railway station stops right outside the hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. The good sized room comes with a small kitchen that is very well equipped with fridge, dishwasher, induction stove, crockery and utensils. The Smeg toaster and kettle was a wonderful touch. Extremely good value for money and unlike the London hotel that I had stayed in, the staff did not surprise me with a request for a “discretionary”5% service charge to the room rate. No hesitation in recommending this aparthhotel.
Ppeter nutbrownThis accommodation was excellent. for us.It was situated in a tiny village with only one local pub, which was ideal for us. Cambridge is only 10miles away.
The host was very friendly and welcoming. The Lodge was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. A nice touch was a plate of fairy cakes and a jar of cookies to welcome you. There was also a jug of milk in the fridge. The bed was sublime. Extremely soft and comfortable. I normally only manage 3-4 hours sleep daily, but on our two night stay i slept right through both nights. Breakfast was a full English delivered to our door, and it was delicious. I can't recommend this place and it's host highly enough. If I'm visiting the area again Thorn House will definitely be my first choice.
GGuest UserTravelodge wouldn’t have been a bad memory except for TRIP that made it a horrible one for me , I definitely sure this would be my last dealing with them.
Here is my ordeal with Travelodge and TRIP.com, on arriving the hotel I discovered the hotel has no air conditioning and it was terribly hot in London, I immediately notified the hotel of my intention to check out which they agreed to and are willing to give me a refund , unfortunately the TRIP customer service kept going round and round with the situation inorder for them to make me finish my stay at the hotel even with the fact that I complained it wasn’t comfortable, to be honest the hotel did their best to ensure I get my refund but trip messed everything up, there was practically nothing they didn’t do to make sure I didn’t check out even when someone from the hotel spoke with them about their willingness to give me a refund this is the hotel Ass. Manager ( Mrs Gosia) .
I had a very terrible experience with trip and it is definitely going to be my last . I couldn’t sleep most of the night because of the terrible heat at night thanks to trip.

GGuest UserMy husband and I enjoyed our stay. The jacuzzi was lovely and the sauna + pool too. Breakfast was good and hot. Large rooms and friendly staff. Would stay again.
GGuest UserThe old house exuded charm, and the room was beautifully appointed. The breakfast spread was not only delicious but also incredibly generous. Its location was very convenient. All in all, a fantastic experience.

Very Good
GGuest UserEven though the hotel is far from Cambridge downtown, it is clean and surrounded by several stores where one can get everything when needed.
The reception ladies are very handful, and they provided help when we needed it.
Getting an Uber from the hotel is also tricky, as it depends on the time of the day you request one.
GGuest UserGreat location, very easy to get about to the restaurants and sights in central Cambridge or to take a pleasant walk along the river. It was a baking hot day so not having air conditioning was a bit sweaty, though I knew that and it was clearly stated when booking - raised ground floor window opened directly onto fire escape which made leaving it open through the night unfortunately. Room was clean and bed very comfortable, despite the heat I slept well. Kettle in room for making tea and a useful safe in the wardrobe. Breakfast was a simple continental breakfast but most adequate and the offerings good. Only negative was tea was served in a flask - hot water and teabags so one can brew tea to ones preferred strength would have been appreciated.
CChris HineI was disappointed that my room was not cleaned, nor bed made, after my first night. The sign requesting not to be disturbed was hanging on the door handle inside the room. I only discovered the note instructing me to hang another sign, found with the towels on a chair in the room, on the outside handle requesting ”new towels”, if I wanted the room serviced.
If the cleaners do not enter the room unless there is a visible request for new towels, what is the necessity of a sign requesting not to be disturbed? No one is going to come in.
I fully understand the advantages of not replacing the towels every day - and endorse that. But I would have liked to be clearly informed of the note in the paper that came with my room ”key”.
