Hotels near Mapo Station, Seoul

This hotel offers excellent value for money at its price point, no wonder it's a top choice for K-pop fans. Location: It's close to Mapo Station (Line 5) and Gongdeok Station. If you're flying in/out of Gimpo Airport, the direct subway connection is very convenient. Taking a taxi also saves a lot of time compared to getting to Gangnam. It's also very close to Yeouido and Hongdae, making it an ideal place for younger travelers to stay. Hotel Facilities: The room was a little larger than those I've stayed in at Mapo Grand and Gangnam L7. The downside is that it's a bit old, so the style and facilities feel a bit dated. The upside is that the soundproofing on the windows facing the street is excellent. When I checked in, I requested a room away from the elevator and more secluded, and they accommodated my request, so there wasn't much noise from the hotel corridor, which I was very happy with. Staff: The male front desk staff who checked me in spoke Chinese and was very friendly. He fulfilled all my requests for a non-smoking, high-floor room away from the elevator for quietness. When returning by taxi, the hotel security guard would also proactively help open the door. For a hotel at this price point, they really do a great job. Summary: I'll definitely be back. For such an affordable hotel, what more could you ask for?

My friend and I arrived at the hotel much earlier than the check-in time, but the staff still served us willingly and provided luggage storage. The housekeeping service was good. All the staff were happy to help and always greeted us with smiles. The hotel’s location is perfect—right next to the subway station—so we could easily take the train to tourist attractions.

Location-wise, it's really great, very convenient to get around. There are two OY restaurants downstairs and plenty of good food nearby. Since it was our last stop, catching the 6015 bus to the airport meant standing room only; it's better to wait for other larger buses. Facilities: The room itself was good overall, but the pillows were way too soft. I'm used to latex pillows, and these really made my neck uncomfortable. Many hotels now offer a pillow menu, and it would be fantastic if they could make that change here. The ice machine on the 3rd floor was better than the one in the laundry room, and the dryer was excellent – my jeans were dry in 45 minutes. Hygiene: I'm not sure why there was a lot of lint in the room. Is that why there's an air purifier in the room? My sister only stopped coughing after we turned it on.

Cons: 1. Staying on the fourth floor, right outside the elevator is the swimming pool. The chlorine and disinfectant smell from the pool was really unpleasant and strong. I think other floors should be fine though. 2. My room, 416, was a corner unit, so when I opened the curtains, I could see the road. The glass insulation wasn't great, and I could clearly hear the car noise from outside! The room layout was irregular, and the bed faced a mirror at an angle. 3. There are no outlets by the bedside table!!! There are outlets on the desk though, no need for an adapter 😂 Pros: 🥰 Super convenient for going to the airport! The airport line to Gongdeok Station only takes an hour. 😍 The hotel is right above the subway, making travel incredibly convenient. You can reach various shopping areas, Gyeongbokgung Palace, and more within 25 minutes. The hotel's B1 level connects directly to the subway, so you don't even need to go outside. 😝 There's a Lotte Supermarket on the hotel's B1 level, and a large E-Mart (like a Korean Sam's Club, a huge supermarket where locals shop, with all sorts of food, daily necessities, and fruits – and you can get tax refunds!) is about 300 meters away. Sushi and fried chicken often go on sale after about 9 PM, usually around 30% off. 🤩 There are tons of great places to eat near the hotel. I highly recommend the Seolleongtang (ox bone soup)! I ate it for three mornings straight! The radishes at the restaurant were incredibly delicious! 😊 There are four Olive Young stores near the hotel! Perfect for restocking! You can just buy everything and bring it straight back to the hotel, freeing up your hands. 🤗 The room cleaning was excellent. The hotel provides shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, and hand soap. The toiletries smell amazing!!! And the quality is good too. I really want to buy the same products to take home. The bathroom is spacious with a bathtub and a bidet toilet! 😇 The front desk service was also very good, although there was no Chinese service. For me, with decent English, communication wasn't a big problem. You need to swipe a Visa card when checking in. All in all, I'll likely stay here again next time, but I'll definitely choose a room not on the fourth floor and not facing the road!

The hotel is located somewhere between Yeongdeungpo Station and Yeongdeungpo Market Station. There are some areas where I felt a little concerned about safety, but I think it should be fine as long as you're not walking alone late at night. Toilet paper cannot be flushed. The shower pressure is good. Only face towel-sized towels are provided. We stayed in a deluxe room with two people, but the bed was surprisingly small. There wasn't much space in the room either, so we couldn't open two suitcases. Garbage needs to be taken out by yourself, and you request cleaning when needed. Given the price, the service is what you'd expect, so I think it's best suited for experienced travelers!

The room was really spacious, which is a big plus. Unfortunately, I just used it as a quick stopover, so I didn't really get to experience much – I just slept there and left. The HDMI connection to the TV wasn't great, which was a minor drawback, but everything else was excellent. The price could be a bit lower, though. The location is unbeatable, right by the subway exit, and I used a direct airport transfer, which was convenient. I'd definitely come back.

The facilities are a bit old, definitely showing their age. The cleanliness was okay; if you don't look too closely, there aren't any major issues. The vibe is more like a guesthouse than a hotel, but it's incredibly close to the subway station – literally a two-minute walk from Exit 7. Service was a bit mediocre; they don't clean the room daily, and the complimentary water and coffee are only provided on the day you check in. If you stay longer, they don't restock them, which feels a bit stingy and not really worth the price.

We stayed here for 7 days and had a wonderful experience. The staff are very warm, welcoming, and always ready to help. They speak English, which made communication easy and comfortable. Our room was cleaned every day, and they made sure to provide fresh water daily, which we really appreciated. The overall atmosphere felt very homey and family-friendly. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return and stay here again on our next visit! Very close to bus stops and subway too. Many shops around the area.

I always chose Toyoko Inn when I traveled to Japan, so I'm familiar with this hotel and knew it wouldn't disappoint. Although the room is a bit small, the design is well-thought-out and doesn't hinder usability at all. The cleanliness is also guaranteed. For just over 500 a night, it includes a buffet breakfast and complimentary toiletries – definitely great value for money.

This place is very close to the subway station and convenience stores, making it super easy to get around. They offer free coffee and hot water downstairs, which is a nice touch. The staff were also very friendly. Highly recommend!
