Seoul Garden Hotel

Booked 4 rooms, and in two of them, the beds were completely covered in hair. Went downstairs to the front desk to ask for a change, and a staff member told us they had no extra sheets available. It was late at night, and it felt like the sky was falling! Another room, whether it was a design flaw or something else, constantly smelled like sewage. Even opening the door and window didn't help. We were on a group visa, and the hotel and flights were fully paid for before the visa was even issued. Being in a foreign country, unfamiliar with the surroundings, and with a tight itinerary, changing places would have meant losing both time and money. So, we just put up with the disgusting conditions throughout our Seoul trip. In short: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! A huge warning to stay away!!!

The hotel's location is super convenient! There are tons of restaurants nearby, a beauty store, and both a subway and bus station. The only downside is that the front desk staff, both male and female, tend to have a poker face. 🙄

Recommended place: The location is excellent, with two subway lines nearby. However, Gaode Maps doesn't show the exits clearly, and it's particularly tricky to find the right exit when coming from the airport line. It's actually more convenient and closer to take the subway one more stop to Mapo Station on Line 5. It's very easy to get to places like Hongdae and Gwangjang Market by subway. Walking to the nearby Gongdeok market takes about ten minutes. Most restaurants open quite late. The area is bustling, with many restaurants and 24-hour convenience stores nearby, including quite a few trendy spots. There's a front desk staff member who speaks Chinese. I noticed many Chinese guests staying here. The service is average; perhaps they don't encourage eating in the rooms as they don't provide cutlery. If you buy food, remember to ask the store for disposable utensils. The bed is quite large. The cleanliness and quality of the bedding are average. Nowadays, all Korean hotels don't provide toothbrushes and toothpaste, so remember to bring your own or buy them at a convenience store. If you're out exploring all day and just need a place to sleep and eat at night, it's a decent option.

Seoul Garden City Hotel is perfect for independent travelers! The location is absolutely fantastic; it's a short walk to the subway station, and there are tons of convenience stores and restaurants downstairs, making it super easy to get around and find food. The room was spotless, the bed was really comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. Just a heads-up, remember to bring your own toothbrush and toothpaste, as the hotel doesn't provide them. The front desk service was great, and it offers good value for money. It's an excellent choice for a short trip to Seoul.

Came to Seoul with my mother and daughter. The hotel's location is excellent, just a two-minute walk to Line 5, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby, which is very convenient. The hotel lobby is clean and tidy, and most of the staff are male, some of whom speak Chinese. The level of service enthusiasm varies, and I didn't have high expectations anyway. The room is old and, more importantly, too small; I couldn't even open our suitcases, which was quite inconvenient.

The hotel is conveniently located near Mapo and Gongdeok subway stations, with an airport bus stop and a regular bus stop right outside. Getting around is super easy. The cleaning staff (aunties) come every day; they're really friendly and polite, and they do a fantastic job keeping the room spotless. There are tons of great food options nearby – so many choices! We had amazing potato and pork backbone soup, grilled beef intestines, and more. Everything was delicious! Just a heads-up, check-in isn't until 3 PM, and the front desk staff weren't particularly friendly.

The room itself is pretty good, though it feels a bit dated – reminiscent of luxury hotels from Northeast China in the 90s to early 2000s, but I still really liked it. There's wireless charging by the bed, and the room also has adaptive power outlets with a 220V charging capacity. There's an ice machine on one corner of the elevator landing and a phone booth on the other. Self-service laundry costs 4000 Korean Won and drying is another 4000 Korean Won. You need cash for these, and they don't provide complimentary toiletries, but you can buy them from a vending machine on the first floor.
