"Good location above Sendai station. Clean and comfortable. The light switches were too small and dark for the elderly / poor eyesight to see. Example- the shelves (containing the glasses and cups) were black colour and had no light. No laundry line. Toilet only has 1 short railing to hang all our towels / clothes."

"The room itself was remodel, the rest of the area like bathroom and general area shows its age. But as with all hotel in Japan even when the building is old, the facility maangement is always top notch that everything is kept spotless. Meaning while the style of the decor is older everything is always like mint. Cannot get more central location its always next to the busier street of Sendai and few min walk to the train station. the triple room with 3 beds is perfect for our family of 4."

"When you arrive and leave the hotel, there is a group of staff to greet you. They will take the initiative to ask questions and pick up your luggage. When you leave, there is also a farewell. It feels like home~ The hotel facilities need to be improved. The fitness room equipment is not perfect. "The room was quiet, clean, and looked very new. The front desk staff spoke fluent English and provided excellent service. The building's earthquake resistance is outstanding – early this morning, there was an M5.7 earthquake in Miyagi Prefecture (intensity 3), and I felt both the bed and the entire building shaking (O_O)! Despite that, it felt very secure! You can stay here with complete peace of mind! Complimentary toiletries are available on the 1st floor, along with tea and coffee sachets. On the 2nd floor, you'll find washing machines, dryers, a water dispenser, vending machines, and an ice maker. The room was quite spacious. Both the hairdryer and showerhead were high-end Refa brand, which was a pleasant and novel touch. Daily complimentary bottled water is also provided. No deposit was required, check-in was quick and convenient, and check-out was incredibly fast! Highly recommended!"

"Everyone especially cleaning workers polite & helpful. Room small but locution great & toilet well equipped & clean. Lots of restaurants around. The local market nearby is a must-go. One minus though, counter staff can't easily understand our requests. Sendai is a great place but English is not a common tool for communication."

"I stayed for three nights in total, trying out three different room types: a standard twin, a superior twin, and a regular double. The hotel is conveniently located within a 10-minute walk from Sendai Station. The beds were incredibly comfortable, just the right firmness, and there was a good selection of pillows with varying softness. The soundproofing was also excellent, making for a very quiet stay. I slept wonderfully all three nights. In the lobby, you could pick up things like cleansing oil, facial cleanser, and bath salts, which was a nice touch. I enjoyed a comfortable bath in the hotel bathroom every evening, and the rooms were kept very clean. On the last day, I booked the hotel breakfast for 1450 JPY. The variety was quite good, including Sendai specialties like ox tongue curry and zunda mochi (sweet edamame dumplings). The last order time at 9:30 AM was reasonable, allowing me to relax until the 11 AM check-out."

"This hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk from JR Sendai Station, or just one subway stop away. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming, and communication in English was seamless. You need your key card to operate the elevator, which adds an extra layer of security. The room was surprisingly spacious for a business hotel, with new furnishings and a large bathroom. It even had a bay window, a small sofa, and a desk – truly a pleasant surprise! The bed was also very comfortable. On the ground floor, you can pick up various amenities, including DHC cleansing oil and skincare products, and even bath salts and mouthwash. There's a convenience store and McDonald's right outside the hotel, making dining very convenient. Many bus routes stop right outside, and there's also a highway bus terminal nearby, which makes getting to other places very easy. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Sendai."

"The lobby was spacious to chill and nice, especially when the in-house pianist played some soothing classical. My room was decently cosy. My bed was a combined layout of 2 single beds, though one mattress was slumping low overworn out on its spring, while the other was firm. Felt kinda weird sleeping in the centre, which I usually do, with the gap and unevenness. Service was excellent and attentive. Kind assistance from front desk Loida, helping me to translate conveying a request I wanted to put across for my next hotel stop. There is a public bath on the 16th floor, nice and clean. Elevator is kinda slow though. Location is under 10mins walk from Sendai JR station, on a quiet stretch away from the bustling shopping area."

MM262711****The hotel is super close to Sendai Station, making transportation very convenient. It's also near Tohoku University, Sendai Asaichi (morning market), observation decks, and 7-Eleven. The hotel service is excellent; check-in and check-out were quick and easy. The rooms are well-equipped, clean, and tidy, with water and toiletries provided. When leaving, I noticed in the reception area that the hotel has won many awards. The breakfast buffet isn't huge, but the variety is decent, typically Japanese. They even have Sendai's famous Zunda Shake, so no need to go all the way to the station to buy one! Whether for leisure or business, it's a solid, comfortable stay without any real drawbacks. On the day before I left Japan, there was a tsunami and earthquake. I was in such a panic late at night that I ran down to the lobby in my room slippers to consult with the manager. I apologize for that; please forgive me. I later realized that the staff on duty in the lobby were incredibly polite, warm, and helpful in their replies, and they all remained very calm.

GGuest UserHotel Monterey is centrally located just outside the Sendai Station and is easily seen after you exit the station. The staff was very courteous and helpful at the time of check in. Language could be an issue but is easily manageable. I was offered a single room in a lower floor and on my request for a room on the higher floor, without any hesitation I was allotted a double room on the higher floor. The ambience of the restaurant for breakfast was great and the variety of food served catered to Japanese and western. The breakfast was delicious. I had to extend my stay and this was also done seamlessly without any issues. Overall a great hotel centrally located with plenty of shopping around. If I come to Sendai again, I will return to Hotel Monterey if I visit Sendai again.

ZZhutoudabaobao✅ **Pros:** 1. It's brand new, having just reopened last month (June), and that freshness truly makes a difference! 2. Excellent value at just over 500 per night, especially for a room with a 1.8m king-size bed! This was a lifesaver when traveling with kids! We sadly didn't find another king bed of this size for the rest of our trip. 😂 3. They have a lovely public bath (onsen style) ♨️, and soaking there was my absolute favorite way to unwind. It was my first time seeing a 'Shampoo Bar' where you can pick your preferred shampoo and conditioner. 4. The service was excellent. They even gave little gifts to my child – toys on both of our two stays, which made my child incredibly happy! 😊 They provide a comprehensive range of skincare amenities. Plus, there's a free coffee and hot chocolate machine in the lobby, perfect for a few late-night drinks. ❌ **Only Downside:** It's not extremely close to Sendai JR Station, roughly a 15-minute walk. However, you can reach it by walking through Hirose-dori pedestrian street, which is bustling with various restaurants, cafes, drugstores, Don Quijote, and other shops.

There is an onsen and a restaurant in the hotel itself, but the breakfast cost more than stated in the description. The rooms are equipped with a shower, TV, refrigerator, air conditioner, and dehumidifier, and the beds are quite comfortable. Pajamas are provided, and other amenities can be picked up at the reception if needed

LLIANGLlANGThe vending machine doesn't accept new banknotes yet, so I had to ask the cleaning lady for old ones. Every time I go to do laundry, I have to walk through the lobby, basically shamelessly in my slippers and pajamas. I wish the laundry room was on the second floor. The currency exchange machine should be near the laundry room, but I couldn't find it and frankly, I was too lazy to look (=ＴェＴ=). I also couldn't find a dry cleaning bag in the room; it would be great if one could be provided for every guest.

The breakfast is plentiful, the environment is clean, and the location is right next to the shopping street. It's also very close to Sendai Station, only about a ten-minute walk.
