"Besides the separate male and female bathrooms, it's very thoughtful that the female shower rooms have an extra password lock, which makes you feel very secure. I tested them and they were all very clean 👍👍.
The ground floor houses a restaurant, and the reception staff are quite friendly. The room space is a bit small; if you open two 20-inch suitcases, you basically can't walk around. Another slight drawback is that while the hotel has its own parking lot, it still requires an additional fee, which is the same as the parking lot next to the hotel. The main point is that the parking lot close to the hotel is more expensive than those across the street."

"The JR Inn is incredibly convenient, right outside the JR station. It's in the same building as Aeon, making shopping super easy. The room and bathroom weren't small at all; it was the only hotel on my trip that had a proper walk-in shower. There's a self-service laundry room next to the lobby with washers and dryers, just make sure you have 100-yen coins ready. They also have a large public bath and a lounge, where you can find a coffee machine that dispenses hot water. If you're staying multiple nights, you can opt out of housekeeping and receive complimentary bottled water. Great value for money, highly recommend!"

"We decided on visiting Asahikawa last minute and Art Hotel was the only one that truly fitted what we looked for, the pleasant surprise was how they upgraded our room probably because we did a last minute booking and they gave us the triple room instead so we ended up with a pleasant surprise of extra space to pack our luggage’s!
The hotel is super clean and also a convenient stop point to visit outskirts as we stayed in Asahikawa but visited mountains, waterfalls & more!
Parking is a little complicated, it is 2 buildings away and under times, not a big issue as u just need to cross the road to get to it, simply pay 1000 Yen a day, they will stamp your carpark ticket everytime you enter and exit. The only troublesome part would be the loading and unloading of luggage otherwise it wasn’t much of an issue for us.
The city itself has nothing much but the hotel’s restaurant of western mix Chinese modern dining was really good! It is good enough to laze around the hotel & have your meals settled after a long trip.
We would definitely be back for sure!"

"Great experience! It's about a 6-7 minute walk from the station, and there's a convenience store downstairs. The rooms and facilities are relatively new, and the onsen (hot spring) is quite spacious. Breakfast was delicious. There's also a humidifier provided in the room.
The only minor downside is that the last entry for breakfast is 9 AM, so I ended up wasting my breakfast voucher on the first day 😂"

"Very professional hotel and the rooms have a cool layout. I love that the windows actually open so you can get fresh air. The mattresses are very firm (good for your back) but the pillows are kind of weird memory foam blocks, so that was a bit awkward. I put a shirt under one pillow to bring it up to normal height for my neck. They are too low otherwise but stacking two of them is way too much, I would suggest putting a mixture of fluffy normal pillows and these memory foam things.
Otherwise the hotel is pretty great, relaxed atmosphere, right on the main street and very close to two different Lawson kombinis, and a Mister Donut is literally right next door and stays open late. So you're in a great spot. You can do anything at R Hotels. I felt really good energy and the staff were super professional and friendly. Will definitely stay here again on my next trip."

"Very strategic location right beside Asahikawa train station. And behind the train station there is a very beautiful park where people are jogging and cycling. I had a very relaxing and enjoyable morning walk when I was staying there. It is supposed right next to the AEON mall where you can get the dinner and lunch there. There is a French toast and bakery shop inside the train station. They serve very delicious breads."

"Due to high demand, our second night was in a smoking room, and it definitely had a strong odor. However, there was a spray bottle on the wall, and after using it, the air quality improved significantly. The hygiene was very good, and the room had amenities like a kettle and a fridge. Plus, it's very close to Asahikawa Station, which was great."

"What I loved most about this trip was Asahikawa, and this hotel is right in front of the JR station, just a 20-meter walk to the entrance. The bus stop is also right outside, and the bus to Daisetsuzan is conveniently located about 50 meters from the hotel entrance. Breakfast was good too.
There's a small slope behind the JR station where kids can go sledding, and there's also a Starbucks nearby with a nice view. I'll definitely visit Asahikawa again in the future."

"I booked this place quite last-minute. I originally wanted to stay at JR Inn to avoid dragging my suitcase through the snow. However, to my surprise, it wasn't hard to get here because there's a covered walkway connecting it to the JR station. It's also very close to the ski bus pick-up point. All in all, it's a great alternative if you can't get a room at JR Inn or OMO7."

GGuest UserBeen to many Dormy Inn hotel in different location. Everything are good. However, they keep changing their rules. Due to no room cleaning service, hanging a pack of towels at door every morning. Slowly changed to alternate morning. Recently is no cleaning (no towels) even staying for 3 nights. If required towels, get from front desk. Hotel should at least hang a changing towels at door if guest staying for many days.
Location wise is slightly far from JR station.

YYi-Tzu ChenA good option for solo skiing in Asahikawa. After breakfast, head to the bus station. I personally think walking to the OMO7 bus stop (about 10 minutes) is better, as you can board directly. If that's closer, you can go to the station bus stop (7 minutes), but you'll have to wait for the bus. The advantage is you can leave later, but the disadvantage is that it might be full and you'll have to wait for an extra bus or sit in the aisle.
Free chicken curry rice is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 7 PM.
New towels and toothbrushes are provided daily. Lotion can be picked up in the lobby on the first floor.
Delivery packages (ski equipment, etc.) can be collected.
The room is spacious for one person, and economical for two.

GGuest UserWe chose this ryokan for its proximity to Asahikawa Zoo. With a rental car, its location was convenient. The room featured traditional tatami mats and futons for our family of four. The highlight was the in-house ‘onsen’ bath, which we enjoyed without any additional fees. The attentive staff surprised us by clearing the snow off our car after a heavy snowstorm. Senshoen gets my highest recommendation for its service, comfort, and lovely garden.

ZZhouyoujixiaozhouDue to frequent JR cancellations during my arrival, I considered canceling my Asahikawa trip. Despite multiple attempts to communicate with the hotel and the platform, and providing JR's official cancellation notice, the hotel's firm refusal to issue a refund was truly disappointing. The hotel itself is decent; its strengths are its direct visibility from Asahikawa Station and the spacious rooms. There's a more famous hotel across the street, but overall, the hotel's facilities are quite old, and the experience wasn't particularly cozy. It's acceptable as a stopover for exploring the surrounding areas.

XXiaziyoushijieI've stayed at countless hotels during my trips to Japan, and even the old and small ones have always felt worth it. This is truly the first one that I genuinely regret. First, the location. On the map, it doesn't seem far from the JR station, but walking there is a real trek. Whether it's summer or winter, with or without luggage, the path itself is fine, but it's just so far and tiring! Second, the service is very inattentive. I booked a triple room, and I've never encountered a hotel that forgot to make up the third bed! Then, this is an old hotel that was acquired, renovated, and reopened. The overall impression is a bit like a botched renovation project – very makeshift, cobbled together, and carelessly done. They only renovated the parts they want you to see, and for the rest, they just put up a wooden board to cover it up. I booked this place specifically because of the Hoshino Resorts name, and I feel a bit deceived! Finally, the breakfast indeed tastes good, but the variety isn't extensive, though you can get full. If you don't book in advance, you can't add it on the day. If you're just going for the breakfast, I mean, where can't you find breakfast?! (The photos are what they want you to see; imagine the unseen parts yourself!)

Room is okay, there is a window but cannot open. Heater not easy to open. Overall is okay. There is onsen inside hotel.
Breakfast is good and nearby Aeon department store and food restaurant.

GGuest UserHotel Crescent is one of my favorite hotels in Japan. Very professional and nice staff, even the cleaning people make an effort to manage their noise if they know someone is still sleeping in a room, which is above and beyond. The staff at Crescent kept my luggage for a long time when my return trip got delayed which was a huge relief. The lobby gives such a unique atmosphere, it's at once august and stately, like one of the grand art deco hotels of the past era, but it also has a fun little gift shop area and a cafe, so it feels relaxed. Crescent is just a really friendly place where you don't have to worry about anything. Their website explains their ”Kaizen” philosophy, which now is a famous Japanese management philosophy of continuous improvement in each area. It really shows at this hotel. This is the kind of hotel you end up becoming a better person because the staff is so professional and kind. Thank you for a great stay and for being one of my favorite places in Japan :)

LLeo@HKThis is a traditional, family-run inn that truly excels in hospitality and personal charm. I booked a room with a private bath; it was exceptionally spacious at nearly 40 square meters, and we had the entire floor to ourselves. Our private bath was conveniently located directly on the rooftop, situated at the highest point of the small hill, offering an amazing soaking experience. The family operates their own restaurant, and both breakfast and dinner were delightful. This was our children's favorite hotel of the entire trip, providing fantastic value for money. They even have a nostalgic 90s-era arcade! It's definitely a top choice for travelers on a self-drive trip. The owner and staff were incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and kind. A huge thank you once again for their wonderful hospitality!
