"Over the years, I've mostly opted for B&Bs when traveling. So, when I saw the spacious, stylish, and comfortable common areas at Huanlin, I was truly surprised. For a B&B, such amenities feel quite luxurious.
The room itself is large with simple decor, comfortable bedding, and a full set of disposable toiletries. It also features smart home appliances throughout. Everything was pretty much perfect, except for the bathroom door not having a lock.
The B&B is conveniently located, just a 10-15 minute walk from the scenic area entrance and the visitor center.
The hostess was incredibly warm and welcoming. After our visit to Fanjing Mountain the next day, she even proactively helped us arrange transport to Tongren, cut us some watermelon, and invited us to share their homemade lunch. Beyond her excellent customer service, she was constantly busy with renovations for the outdoor space in the backyard. It's clear she's put a lot of heart into running this B&B, and I believe she'll bring even more wonderful improvements to Huanlin Courtyard."

"The room was quite clean, and the customer service, especially Xiao Man, was excellent! She gave us very detailed tips for hiking. The hotel is right next to the scenic area entrance, which makes hiking super convenient. "The hotel was fairly clean, but the noise from the roadside was a bit loud, and the soundproofing wasn't great, so I didn't sleep well at night. The stream in front of the room was completely blocked by tree branches; you had to walk a bit outside the hotel to see it. Also, the parking lot at the entrance was full, so you had to walk a few meters to another parking lot. It's relatively close to the scenic area ticket office, and the service was quite good; the staff were very welcoming. However, especially during the summer peak season, you must buy tickets a day in advance for hiking. They were sold out for the same day, so we had to change hotels and continue hiking the next day."

"Very pleasant stay. It is a perfect hotel to visit Fanjing Mountain.
The hotel is located away from the main road, and on the outskirts of the main shopping streets, making it ideal for a quiet stay.
The owner helped us a lot of plan our itinerary in the mountain, there are some shortcuts you can take to avoid following the crowd.
He also booked a car a drive us back to the train station for a cheap price.

"Jingshan. The location of Yushe B&B is particularly good, very close to the entrance of Fanjing Mountain Scenic Area, 5 or 6 minutes walk. The room in the B&B is large, very clean, central air-conditioning, large bath water and very comfortable. There is its own restaurant, the dishes are good, and delicious rice wine is also delivered for free. There are supermarkets around, and there are vendors selling fruit at the door. The boss and his wife are very good, there are questions and answers, help carry the suitcase up and down the stairs, when climbing Fanjing Mountain, they also borrow trekking poles for free, and come down from the mountain, and go to the hotel in a few minutes for easy rest. In short, very satisfied."

"After a strenuous hike up Fanjingshan, we drove to the hotel for a much-needed rest. The front desk staff was incredibly welcoming and courteous, even providing a complimentary room upgrade. A staff member then kindly escorted me to the elevator.
The lobby was grand and impressive. Our room was spacious and felt well-appointed, clearly benefiting from a recent renovation. I particularly appreciated the bathroom's 'three-separation' design (separate wet and dry areas), and the overall cleanliness was excellent. The mattress was very comfortable, and the air conditioning was strong yet quiet. Breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, truly having something for everyone. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, where the male server was very attentive, and the prices were quite reasonable.
However, there were a couple of minor drawbacks. All the pillows were uniformly high, which was uncomfortable for me as I prefer a lower pillow, making it difficult to fall asleep. In the morning, when I went to shower, it took over ten minutes for the hot water to come on, and even then, it was only lukewarm. It wasn't hot enough to properly wash my hair, so I just quickly rinsed off and got out to avoid getting cold."

"Found a hidden gem guesthouse on this Fanjing Mountain trip! The decor is fresh and inviting, with a lovely courtyard surrounded by greenery. Waking up to mountain views right outside our window was picturesque and perfect for photos. The facilities are brand new, with WiFi, AC, and toiletries all provided. The owner was incredibly thoughtful, helping us plan our hiking routes up and down the mountain and even advising us on the best time to catch the sea of clouds. It's super close to the mountain gate, which saved us the hassle of an early morning rush. In the evenings, we could relax and chat over tea in the courtyard. It will take you around a 15mins walk or so to reach the tourist centre where you can purchase your tickets to enter the park.
The hotel is mostly aurrounded by fellow hotels and restaurants and a tiny weeny convenience stall just beside the hotel.
The plump lady receptionist might sound crude but she is extremely friendly and helpful.
The reception area is sparse but the room is defintely okay.not many guests when i was staying there.
It is worth a stay though there is nothing much to do around the area and if your aim is just to visit fanjingshan"

Stepping off the car, crossing a small bridge, and entering the courtyard, there was an immediate sense of familiarity and peace. A babbling stream flowed in front, while silent mountains loomed behind. The courtyard was lush with greenery, exuding the scent of damp earth and the passage of time. Moss slowly spread along the flagstone path, and bamboo shadows swayed gently. Koi fish glided serenely in the pond, and the bell by the entrance chimed softly in the breeze, making you instinctively lighten your steps. This wasn't some contrived 'Chinese style,' but a place truly lived in.
Their attentiveness was subtle but profound. Knowing roughly when we'd arrive, they'd already warmed the room, even the comforter was toasty. A wisp of sandalwood incense was slowly burning, and the tea set was neatly arranged, as if awaiting its owner's return. The moment I opened the door, my heart felt at ease.
The furnishings inside reflected a restrained and tasteful Chinese aesthetic. Carved wooden window lattices, soaring double-leaf Chinese doors, and soft, warm lighting – each item seemed to have stepped out of an earlier time. The collected artifacts and calligraphies were not flashy, yet each quietly told its own story.
For dinner, we decided to stay in rather than venture out, opting for a 'home-cooked meal.' Upon hearing our request, the auntie immediately sprang into action – she went to another part of the property, caught a chicken, and stewed a fresh pot of chicken soup. Then she dug fresh fiddlehead ferns from the vegetable patch, still carrying the aroma of earth. There were also her homemade salted duck eggs, not overly salty, yet oily with just one bite.
The firewood slowly burned, the soup in the pot gently simmered, and the aroma of the food gradually filled the air. That scent wasn't the refined fragrance of a restaurant, but the long-missed, comforting taste of home.
This isn't just a 'chic' guesthouse; it’s far more touching than many of them. It's like a well-preserved slice of life – quiet, authentic, and full of warmth.
This is a place one will remember and want to return to for another short stay.

GGuest UserThe B&B I carefully selected is great: the small building is located at the foot of the mountain. The architectural style combines modern simplicity without losing the local folk customs. It is backed by green mountains and surrounded by swaying bamboos.
There is a swimming pool in front of the door, and there is a small bridge and flowing water when you go out. There is a treasure ”jelly-colored” water area a hundred meters away, which is convenient for children to play in the water after climbing the mountain. Adults can sit on the rocks in the shade and dip their feet in the water. In the stream, all worries and fatigue disappear. When you return to the B&B, the owner will cut watermelon, make tea, and prepare special handmade summer sparkling drinks.
The creek is rising, the breeze is blowing on my face, the moon is setting and the sky is filled with stars, that's probably it.

AAixueerThis guesthouse has an excellent location, very close to the east gate of Fanjing Mountain. The room was spacious and clean, and the large bed was super comfortable for sleeping. The soundproofing in the room is great; even when people in the opposite room were talking loudly and I could hear their voices clearly in the hallway, I couldn't hear a thing once inside my room. The owners are very hardworking; not only do they run the guesthouse, but you can also eat meals there. Their handsome son is incredibly diligent; whenever there are guests dining, he helps serve food and clear tables. I felt terrible when I accidentally cracked a toothbrush cup badly, but the owners both immediately said it was fine and even offered me a new one, refusing to let me pay for it. Waking up and pulling back the curtains in the morning, I was greeted by a soft mist cloaking the distant views and the river, truly like a wonderland. A stroll down to the riverbank was incredibly invigorating. I'll definitely return for another stay if time permits.
It happened to be the Dragon Boat Festival, and the owner thoughtfully prepared Zongzi (rice dumplings) and the local specialty, Miancai Ba, early that morning. It gave me such a heartwarming, home-away-from-home feeling.

RRaghunath C G NairAmazing! Fascinating! Fanjingshan was the final stop of our memorable 10-day tour of Guizhou Province, and we truly could not have chosen a better place to conclude our journey. We felt genuinely blessed to stay at this lovely guesthouse for three nights. From the very beginning, the owner Mr. Zhang Haotian and his family made us feel completely at home; they were warm, engaging, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile.
The rooms are tastefully designed and thoughtfully laid out, perfectly sized for comfort. Our room offered a soothing view of the river, along with a private balcony; an ideal spot to relax with your favourite tea or coffee. The modern touches were impressive too, especially the high-tech sensor toilet, which added a pleasant surprise. The three-storey guesthouse is equipped with an elevator, a thoughtful convenience for guests with heavy luggage or those who may find climbing stairs challenging.
Dinner, lovingly cooked by the family, was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that reflected both their hospitality and culinary skill. Every meal felt homely and satisfying. We only wish we had taken more and better photographs of the guesthouse. Without a doubt, this is one place we will return to.
As for the enchanting Fanjing Mountain itself, the owner drove us to the scenic area entrance. He even offered to pick us up later, but we chose to walk back instead, enjoying the cool climate. Fanjing Mountain is magical in its own right. The steep cable car ride to the summit, which takes over 20 minutes, was an experience in itself, offering breathtaking views of the mountain ranges stretching endlessly around us. At the top stands the age-old Buddhist temple, serene and awe-inspiring, perfectly harmonising with its natural surroundings.
We loved the guesthouse, we are very grateful to Mr. Zhang and his family for their kindness, and deeply thankful for the unforgettable experience at Fanjing Mountain. It was the perfect ending to a remarkable journey.

Before choosing a place, I hesitated about whether to stay closer to the scenic area entrance, but based on my experience, I would recommend staying directly in the village. It's more physically demanding for hiking, and meals are more convenient. The owner can pick you up and drop you off at the scenic area entrance. We also found out after arriving that you can arrange pick-up and drop-off services in Tongren city in advance, and the price is slightly cheaper than taking a taxi. The owners are very easy to talk to, so there's no need to worry about any disputes. Although the facilities aren't particularly high-end, it's worth the price.

22036192201This is, without a doubt, the best place to stay when climbing Mount Fanjing. As long as you can make it to the Fanjing Mountain parking lot, the owner will take care of everything else for you, including accommodation, meals, parking, tickets, and getting you in with the first group. The guesthouse is located within the scenic area, a two-story wooden building with all rooms on the second floor. The shower water is wonderfully hot and has great pressure. The owner and his wife are fantastic! They provide pick-up and drop-off service between the scenic area parking lot and the guesthouse. We even entered the scenic area with the owner as part of the first group in the morning, and successfully summited Red Cloud Golden Peak with my 80-year-old father.

GGuest UserThis is an ideal hotel for taking children on summer vacation. A highly recommended summer resort hotel. The hotel is a garden hotel with excellent amenities and a good breakfast. The hotel is also located next to a crystal-clear river, perfect for swimming and fishing. The hotel is about a 10-minute drive from Fanjing Mountain, offering stunning scenery. If you're driving, this is highly recommended and a great value. I'll be back next year. The service was also excellent. My only suggestion is that the toiletries could be better; those with more sophisticated needs should bring their own.

When we checked in, we booked two rooms at different price points, but the hotel assigned us the cheaper one. After we complained, they claimed it was for our convenience.
Secondly, I booked a room for my parents that included breakfast, but why did the hotel charge them for breakfast in the morning? My parents called me, and I quickly clarified that their room included breakfast, and only then was they not charged.
The stay was extremely poor, and the hygiene was appalling.
