This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"No complaints whatsoever, apart from the hot weather. The location is fantastic, and the environment is stunning – it truly felt like a scene out of the 'Wizard of Oz'. Jintan Beach is right downstairs, perfect for taking the kids to catch small crabs and collect seashells. However, compared to Yintan Beach, the water quality here is slightly inferior. On the bright side, Jintan offers better value for money, and most importantly, the sunsets here are absolutely breathtaking. The swimming pool downstairs is also excellent – clean and well-maintained. Dining options nearby are plentiful, and if you don't feel like going out, you can easily order food delivery to your room."

"For this May Day holiday, I chose the Shangri-La Hotel, and as an established hotel, the service was indeed excellent. Long before our arrival, they assigned Ivy, our butler, to assist us with various arrangements, making our check-in incredibly smooth. The hotel breakfast also has a children's area, though it's a bit small. Throughout our stay, any questions we had were answered promptly, and they even helped us book children's activities and a travel photoshoot."

"This time, I traveled with my family all the way from Suzhou to Beihai. To be honest, Beihai was the core destination of our trip, and we planned to stay there for 3-4 nights. The Marriott was highly recommended and ranked as the number one resort hotel in the area. However, after staying there, I felt that despite its sea view location, many of the accompanying services were lacking. For instance, when we went to the restaurant, no one guided us to a table; we had to find one ourselves. Also, clearing dishes wasn't very prompt; in fact, on the second day, no one cleared them at all, even after we finished eating. Additionally, the fish tank was broken, and despite reporting it twice, it was never fixed by the time we checked out. Other than that, everything else was fine, and the hotel had a full schedule of activities for children every day. I just feel that for the amount of money I spent at this hotel, the overall service and amenities didn't meet my expectations. Some basic things weren't even done. So, for those who haven't been or are considering this as an option, my advice is: if you're not particularly bothered about a direct sea view, there's no need to book this kind of hotel. You can easily book a mid-range hotel like a Hanting or Atour about 2-3 kilometers away. I think they are more standardized, and you can even wash kids' clothes there. Most importantly, those hotels aren't too far from the beach; you can just rent a small electric scooter and ride over in no time, as Beihai isn't that big anyway."

Hotel near Silver Beach (Silver Beach Bath&Beach Park),Beihai
Nestled along Beihai Silver Beach, sown hotel is a stay rooted in the ethos of slow living. The 81 guestrooms and suites are composed with a sense of gentle measure and ease, woven together through the rhythm, sense, taste, and bathing that define a restorative private retreat. At its heart, a cloistered courtyard—a quiet architectural overture—invites a more intimate interplay between people and place, people and object, people and people. Set within the frontline sea-view enclave of SOWN, this retreat brings together dining, art, handicrafts and wellness experiences. Nestled by the sea and lulled by gentle winds, it is an exquisite getaway to reconnect with nature’s purest essence and restore peace to body and mind.

"As a huge hotel enthusiast who has stayed at numerous high-end hotels both domestically and internationally, this stay at Song Hotel was once again a pleasant surprise, exceeding my expectations. This surprise wasn't sudden; it accumulated little by little throughout the stay, transforming into a constant sense of awe and wonder. Initially, the hotel's color scheme seemed a bit odd, but I later learned it was the color of the sunset glow on the old buildings. This nostalgic and genuine warmth permeated every aspect of the hotel's service. Because the hotel was still in its soft opening phase, I was upgraded to a suite! I was overjoyed. 🛏️ Suite Experience Over 100 square meters. The suite included an indoor soaking tub and swimming pool. The color scheme was simple and elegant—a combination of off-white, light brown, and dark wood tones, instantly creating a relaxing atmosphere. The view from the window overlooked the Silver Beach! The room amenities were top-of-the-line, from bedding to toiletries, with attention to detail everywhere. 🍽️ Dining Stunning Completely unlike anything I'd expected from a third-tier city. The selection of breakfast items was simply unbelievable for a city like this. Makana Bakery, located in the bakery, offers locally inspired bread innovations—Guangxi Liubao Tea Croissant, Pandan Coconut Croissant, Lychee Sea Salt Croissant—bringing local flavors and French baking techniques together beautifully, rivaling boutique bakeries in first-tier cities. I tried the coffee shop, Chinese restaurant, and ice cream shop one by one, and each exceeded my expectations. The hotel dedicated significant space to local cultural exhibitions. As a keen citywalker, I was exhausted from exploring Beihai's old streets and various seaside areas, but surprisingly, the most insightful experience of the city came from the hotel's exhibition hall 🤣 The curation was excellent. The curatorial text and style were tasteful. It wasn't just a perfunctory display of folk customs, but a genuine exploration of the city's historical context and way of life—from maritime culture to the memories of the Tanka people, from the old street fabric to the evolution of contemporary Beihai. It was also a photogenic spot. Another feature of the hotel is the inclusion of a collection space showcasing several high-quality niche brands. From luxury lifestyle products to carefully selected souvenirs, everything was practical, stylish, and imbued with Beihai's essence. These brands offer excellent taste and value for money. Although I also visited other places and tried several hotels, I felt that this hotel was enough for my trip to Beihai. I could relax, enjoy the sea view, shop, and eat to my heart's content. Finally, let me talk about the service. It wasn't the professional hotel service I'd expected. Having stayed in top-tier hotels, I understand the natural and welcoming atmosphere of a butler. But perhaps because it had just opened, many people's eyes held a touch of naivety and unfamiliarity. They were cautious yet attentive, which was especially endearing. That simple, unfamiliar sincerity was touching. You could see their dedication. As a Ctrip Black Diamond member, I've stayed in countless great hotels. This is the first time I've written such a thoughtful review. Because this place is more than just a hotel; it allowed me to rediscover Beihai. It also solved the pain points of traveling in a third- or fourth-tier city regarding dining, service, and the aesthetics and practicality of souvenirs (and the value for money was excellent). This wasn't just a place to stay; it was a key to understanding Beihai and a haven for my short stay."

"This stay was on the night before leaving Beihai at the end of our trip. The Wyndham's room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was also excellent. When we checked out, the staff enthusiastically helped us with our luggage to the car, so the service was great. The only downside was that the hairdryer in the room was very old-fashioned, making for a very unpleasant experience. I suggest they update it immediately to keep up with the times. (The other hotels we stayed at in Beihai and Weizhou Island all had Dyson hairdryers.) In comparison, this one felt very subpar and didn't match the hotel's positioning."

Our stay in Room 501 at Reef Hotel was absolutely fantastic! The dedicated service group was online throughout our trip, always responding promptly and thoughtfully. In the evenings, they offered complimentary coconut milk taro sago dessert, available until 11 PM. If we were out, they'd even reserve it or deliver it to our room. The hotel also provides laundry, drying, and ironing services, and they even kindly helped mend a torn pocket on my clothes. When I needed an aroma diffuser or motion sickness patches, they were quickly arranged and delivered. Our island transfer was completely hassle-free. They pre-arranged our pick-up for the 2:30 PM ferry, and the butler reminded us of the arrival time in advance and proactively helped with our luggage. The staff's service was genuinely sincere and meticulous. This is definitely our top choice for future stays on the island. I highly recommend it with five stars, and I'll choose this hotel again when I return to Weizhou Island!

Get this hotel!!! We were supposed to stay for a night and then decide what to do - we ended up staying 3 nights and were very sad to leave. Every so often when you travel your hotel experience significantly improved your holiday - this was one of those cases! First of all the basics, we were looking for a nice family friendly hotel walking distance from the beach - and this certainly fit that category. The rooms are fine, you could see the sea from the windows, comfortable beds, pretty clean, slippers, plenty of towels, wifi everywhere etc. There was also a small playground for small kids and hammocks (picture) etc which was cool, we also saw mahjong tables, but didn't have the time to play. The hotel is located near a fairly large field, filled with exotic birds, butterflies and crickets etc. There were also geckos everywhere (love them), but we didn't see any inside the room. There were some mosquitos outside on the terrace (don't love them), but the repellent took care of those and we didn't have any in our rooms. Felt like you were near nature, in a good way. The kids loved to play on the beach, it's great for sand castles (the hotel had buckets and shovels free of charge) and searching for crabs, fish, shells, sea snails etc... The moms loved it too, especially to walk around and explore during low tide. (the hotel also provided equipment to catch crabs and other sea creatures etc if you wanted to - they also had a service to cook them for you) We especially enjoyed playing under a nearby pier during low tide to avoid getting badly sunburned. The supermarket across the street sell dozens of single malt whiskys and beer from all over the world (they also have ice cream and other stuff) - and the dads recommend the roof terrace for that after the kids are asleep. (picture) If you know how to ride a scooter/ebike they rent them across the road too, and it's the best way to explore the island. The small roads (almost devoid of cars) were awesome to drive on, just remember to stay safe. I don't usually care much about breakfast, but the included breakfast was great! (picture) The kitchen staff was also super laid-back about the whole thing - this whole hotel radiated a very laid back tropical island feel that made you forget you were in China. However the reason I write this review is because of the owner. (last picture) (I'm not sure if he speaks English though, but I'm sure you'll manage) Super chill guy! Immediately after booking he contacted us to arrange the transport from the boat. He helped us buy tickets for the trip back. He was willing to come and pick us up at any time if we got lost on the island. He had great recommendations about basically everything, and whenever we made plans we were sure to ask for his advice. He was basically always reachable over wechat too. These are just some of the things that he didn't have to provide, but did (or offered): unlimited cold drinking water, ice, proper glasses, a coffee grinder, buckets, shovels, hats, umbrellas, sunscreen, aloe vera plants, flashlights, mosquito repellent etc etc and it feels like we only scratched the surface. It feels like whenever I asked him for something he always had a solution that exceeded my expectations. Great host! I've traveled to almost 100 countries and while this wasn't the fanciest hotel I've stayed in by any means, this was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I've ever had. If anyone I know plans to visit this island I will for sure recommend this place.

I was very curious how a property with such an affordable price has a such a high rating. I was immediately convinced by myself. The property is perfectly located in the Southern part of the Island near Crocodile Mountain and its beautiful beach as well as South Bay with countless options of tasty seafood. The room is big, bright, clean and smells great. There is everything a traveller needs. The highlight is clearly the boss, she is very warm, welcoming and very kind. There was a book in my room which I took out of curiosity to read on the beach, and I realized it contained great messages. I asked the boss if she is willing to sell it to me but she gave it for free. She told me that she deliberately puts books with great messages for young people in the room since many students stay in her property. Wow...I wish more people in this world would be like the boss. Don't hesitate and book a room here. If I ever happen to be again on this island, I know where to stay!!

This was my second time checking in for this new homestay. The boss is very kind to pick me up from the Beihai jetty after I returned from my trip to Weizhou island. The room is very clean and beautifully decorated. He was also very responsive when I requested slippers and clothes hangers. This Homestay hotel is strategically located near the silver beach. I strongly recommend travellers or tourists stay here to see the beautiful homestay place and the boss is also kind enough to allow cooking in the kitchen. I also did my sweet and sour pork and chicken meats in my first 2 days stay here. I gave the boss and this homestay place considered 5 stars for the best value for money.

The boss was very considerate and turned on the air conditioner for us in advance. As soon as we arrived at the B&B, he came to help us with our suitcases. He was very enthusiastic. The TV in the room won't turn on, come and help immediately. Very satisfied. It was just that the weather was cool this time, so it was a pity that I couldn't swim. The swimming pool in the B&B is also great. It is very close to Silver Beach. We go to the beach to play every day after waking up. The children are very happy.

I stayed here last year too. It was very convenient with my child. The view from the higher floors was great, there was a small park next door, a large supermarket across the street, and various snack and convenience stores. It was very close to the train station and the old street and ancient building complex. The service was excellent; anything I needed was promptly delivered to my room. This was my first time staying at a Sheraton hotel, and I was there for 8 days and 7 nights. On the first day, I was really excited but also a bit apprehensive, as I'd seen some negative reviews online before arriving. However, none of the issues mentioned online appeared during my stay. Everything from the cleanliness to the service made me feel completely at home. The hotel has direct access to a beach and the sea right downstairs, which is incredibly convenient. When coming back from the beach, you can enter through the back door and use the free foot-rinsing facilities. Being able to shower immediately after swimming in the sea is a huge plus for someone as lazy as me! Staying in a suite felt like opening a blind box every morning when I opened the window – so exciting! The clouds in the view were constantly changing, and every day was beautiful. The staff's service attitude was excellent and very attentive. Sage, in particular, made me feel right at home and helped me with so many things. Since I initially checked in alone, there were a lot of things I wasn't quite clear on, and she patiently helped me with everything. The cleaning aunties were also wonderful during my stay. One evening, I remember a terrifying thunderstorm, and I forgot to close my door properly, which startled me. The front desk staff (a male and female colleague) on night duty and the engineering team member were all so patient and helpful in resolving the issue – I was very touched! The whole experience was truly excellent! It's highly likely I'll choose to stay at Sheraton again next time I visit Beihai.

The environment and scenery are excellent. The beauty of South Bay is in full view. There is a lively bar street at the foot of the mountain and a quiet sea view garden on the mountain. The facilities are a bit old. It should be the first star hotel on the island. The lady at the front desk is beautiful and kind. The hotel has a pick-up service to the port, and you can also rent electric cars. The only shortcoming is that the breakfast needs to be improved~
