"For this May Day holiday, I chose the Shangri-La Hotel, and as an established hotel, the service was indeed excellent. Long before our arrival, they assigned Ivy, our butler, to assist us with various arrangements, making our check-in incredibly smooth. The hotel breakfast also has a children's area, though it's a bit small. Throughout our stay, any questions we had were answered promptly, and they even helped us book children's activities and a travel photoshoot."

"Among the three hotels we stayed at in Beihai, all of which were 5-star family-friendly establishments, the Marriott was by far the most hassle-free and comfortable.
While the room wasn't the largest and there was some wind noise, especially when it was windy due to air pressure, these minor issues didn't detract from the overall experience. The room offered expansive views, and the large balcony was incredibly practical for drying clothes. The wet and dry areas were well-separated, and the bedding was clean and comfortable. The electric fan was a nice touch; running it on the lowest setting with the air conditioning made the room feel naturally cool and comfortable.
The hotel offers plenty of activities for children. The indoor pool, at 1.2-1.4 meters deep, is genuinely family-safe and friendly. The children's cinema, housed in a spacious banquet hall, was impressive.
The butler service made our stay incredibly worry-free. A day before our arrival, our front desk butler, J, contacted me and provided information about the hotel's pool, breakfast, beach, dining options, and flow. Throughout our three-day stay, J was super quick to resolve any issues, big or small. The entire service system was very professional; from proactively helping with luggage upon arrival to the helpful concierge and cleaning staff in the lobby bar, everyone was very enthusiastic.
The only area for improvement is the breakfast, which was a bit uninspired and barely changed over our three-day stay. It would be great if items like steamed dim sum, pastries, and noodle toppings could vary daily; this wouldn't significantly increase costs."

"This time in Beihai, we stayed at Hualuxe with our child, and I have to commend our butler, Nan Xi, for being so thoughtful and meticulous. She made sure all our requests were met. The hotel has three pools, including an indoor heated pool and an outdoor infinity pool, providing an excellent swimming experience. The petting zoo has a great variety of animals, and my child loved feeding and interacting with them. It made entertaining the kids so much easier and stress-free. This is truly a treasure of a family-friendly resort. We'll definitely come back to this hotel if we get the chance!"

"Outside, it was bustling, but inside, it was peaceful and quiet, thanks to the excellent soundproof windows. The bathroom had a perfect wet/dry separation, and the spacious countertop made it easy to access my toiletry bag. "This stay was on the night before leaving Beihai at the end of our trip. The Wyndham's room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was also excellent. When we checked out, the staff enthusiastically helped us with our luggage to the car, so the service was great. The only downside was that the hairdryer in the room was very old-fashioned, making for a very unpleasant experience. I suggest they update it immediately to keep up with the times. (The other hotels we stayed at in Beihai and Weizhou Island all had Dyson hairdryers.) In comparison, this one felt very subpar and didn't match the hotel's positioning."

"Stayed at Crowne Plaza Beihai Silver Beach again during the Dragon Boat Festival.
1. The location is excellent, right next to Silver Beach. It's just a few minutes' walk to the sand. The room views are expansive, offering fantastic ocean vistas, making it super convenient for enjoying the beach.
2. The hotel's pool facilities are comprehensive, with clean water and a dedicated children's play area. My kids loved playing in the pool all day long – perfect for families.
3. There was a minor issue during our stay, but the staff responded very quickly after we reported it. The problem was handled properly and efficiently within a short time, which we really appreciated.
Special thanks to these four thoughtful staff members:
First, on June 20th, a tall, sturdy woman with glasses and short hair in the breakfast buffet restaurant was incredibly warm and attentive, offering help proactively and providing meticulous service.
Second, the concierge gentleman who answered the phone around 5:40 PM on June 20th was very quick to resolve our issue, as was the engineering department uncle who came to our room afterward – he was efficient and polite.
Third, the concierge uncle (with a bit of a belly, haha) on May 21st at noon, who proactively helped us with our luggage, carefully organizing it into the trunk. He was attentive and thorough throughout.
Although it's not the newest hotel on Silver Beach, we've gotten used to it and will definitely consider staying here again on our next visit to Beihai."

"Very good, unexpectedly great. The criteria I chose for the hotel are actually just a few:
First: Hygiene and clean. Newly opened hotels, sanitary facilities are very new, and the bedding is also very new. The only downside may be that it has a little decoration smell, but this is inevitable.
Second: room size. Normal size enough for two big and one small will not feel particularly cramped.
Third: the surrounding environment. It is still a little distance from the core scenic spot of Beihai, Yintan, but I personally don't like to live in the scenic spot. (The next day I went to Beihai Yintan, I also passed a lot of hotels in the scenic area that I saw when I was looking for a hotel. I was very fortunate that I didn't book it because it was very blocked)
There is a food street around, very close to the Guizhou Road Seafood Market, just across the road. Downstairs also opened a Zhao Yiming snack, usually want to add some drinks and snacks is also very convenient. There is a seafood old friend powder opposite, which tastes good. When we went there at noon, the powder was sold out.
Based on the above three points, I think this hotel has met my requirements very well and is very satisfied. As for the service of the front desk lady, it is also very in place. When we arrive, we will pour hot water for us, but the service is a plus for me. I hope my evaluation will be helpful to you."

"Hello! Because my room on the 9th floor was noisy due to its location facing a residential building, I moved to the 10th floor today, hoping for a comfortable stay. However, the cleanliness of the room was extremely disappointing, hence this complaint.
Upon entering the room, because the cleaning agent had an overly pungent smell, I turned on all the lights. I found not only residual hair on the pillow but also a noticeable brown stain, making it unusable. The floor also had uncleaned stains, appearing very unkempt. Furthermore, the room reeked of mop water, indicating it hadn't been properly dried after cleaning, severely impacting my experience.
This level of cleanliness is seriously inconsistent with your hotel's standards. I hope the hotel will take cleanliness seriously, improve room management, and prevent similar incidents from recurring."

I bought some dried seafood to take home; the price was reasonable, and fresh seafood would have been too difficult to transport."

GGuest UserThis is my first time leaving a review voluntarily, and it's truly because I had such a wonderful stay! The hotel facilities are top-notch, but what really impressed me was the service. It was exceptional! A group chat was set up a day before our arrival, with seven staff members dedicated to our party of one. They responded instantly to all our requests. When we arrived, several butlers were waiting at the entrance. Each butler assisted one family, and I didn't have to carry my luggage once. When we left, the butler came to collect our luggage and arranged a car for us. Breakfast was served at our reserved time and was absolutely delicious. There was also afternoon tea and evening desserts. The mini-bar was fully stocked with food, drinks, and alcohol, and it was replenished daily. Upon entering our room, we were provided with aloe vera gel, sun umbrellas, and a small fan. The best part was the complimentary laundry and drying service—that was a real lifesaver! After swimming, we'd just toss our dirty clothes into a basket, and soon after, the butler would return them clean and folded. We could swim three times a day without worrying about running out of clothes. The bar at night was great too. It was closed the first night due to rain but opened the next day. I thought about ordering a Long Island Iced Tea, and to my surprise, the staff asked for my room number and informed me I had a 100-yuan voucher, so I didn't have to pay – a pleasant surprise! During our stay, there was a southwest swell, and ferry services were suspended the previous weekend, so we were worried about getting to the island. Thankfully, we made it smoothly. When we saw that a pool room was available, they upgraded us for one day (as other room types were fully booked for the second day). We were incredibly lucky that the guests in the pool room checked out the next day, and the hotel proactively extended our upgrade for another day, saving us the hassle of moving rooms. In short, everything was perfect, and there's so much more I haven't even mentioned. It's truly a top choice for a vacation! We stayed for two nights, then left for Beihai on the third day and stayed at another five-star hotel, but their service was incomparable. My daughter's first words the next morning were, 'Can they bring breakfast to us?' 😂😂😂 It was so good, we'll definitely be back!

The property is perfectly located in the Southern part of the Island near Crocodile Mountain and its beautiful beach as well as South Bay with countless options of tasty seafood. The room is big, bright, clean and smells great. There is everything a traveller needs. The highlight is clearly the boss, she is very warm, welcoming and very kind. There was a book in my room which I took out of curiosity to read on the beach, and I realized it contained great messages. I asked the boss if she is willing to sell it to me but she gave it for free. She told me that she deliberately puts books with great messages for young people in the room since many students stay in her property. Wow...I wish more people in this world would be like the boss. Don't hesitate and book a room here. If I ever happen to be again on this island, I know where to stay!!

CCharms928Had a really enjoyable stay at the hotel. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The service was absolutely impressive where free laundry service and daily afternoon tea with fresh fruits and cakes were served. They also helped to arrange free transport between the harbour and the hotel. The door gift is particularly thoughtful which contains a nice UV protective umbrella, mosquito repellant and sun block.
The room was spacious, clean and tastefully designed! Ours was the ground floor room with the garden view. Though the hotel swimming pool is right outside, the lush greenery offered great privacy. The air-conditioned and pleasantly perfumes room was literally my oasis during this short island trip! And it is quite budget friendly!:)
Absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone who’s planning to visit the island!

GGuest UserGet this hotel!!! We were supposed to stay for a night and then decide what to do - we ended up staying 3 nights and were very sad to leave.
Every so often when you travel your hotel experience significantly improved your holiday - this was one of those cases! First of all the basics, we were looking for a nice family friendly hotel walking distance from the beach - and this certainly fit that category. The rooms are fine, you could see the sea from the windows, comfortable beds, pretty clean, slippers, plenty of towels, wifi everywhere etc. There was also a small playground for small kids and hammocks (picture) etc which was cool, we also saw mahjong tables, but didn't have the time to play.
The hotel is located near a fairly large field, filled with exotic birds, butterflies and crickets etc. There were also geckos everywhere (love them), but we didn't see any inside the room. There were some mosquitos outside on the terrace (don't love them), but the repellent took care of those and we didn't have any in our rooms. Felt like you were near nature, in a good way.
The kids loved to play on the beach, it's great for sand castles (the hotel had buckets and shovels free of charge) and searching for crabs, fish, shells, sea snails etc... The moms loved it too, especially to walk around and explore during low tide. (the hotel also provided equipment to catch crabs and other sea creatures etc if you wanted to - they also had a service to cook them for you) We especially enjoyed playing under a nearby pier during low tide to avoid getting badly sunburned.
The supermarket across the street sell dozens of single malt whiskys and beer from all over the world (they also have ice cream and other stuff) - and the dads recommend the roof terrace for that after the kids are asleep. (picture)
If you know how to ride a scooter/ebike they rent them across the road too, and it's the best way to explore the island. The small roads (almost devoid of cars) were awesome to drive on, just remember to stay safe.
I don't usually care much about breakfast, but the included breakfast was great! (picture) The kitchen staff was also super laid-back about the whole thing - this whole hotel radiated a very laid back tropical island feel that made you forget you were in China.
However the reason I write this review is because of the owner. (last picture) (I'm not sure if he speaks English though, but I'm sure you'll manage) Super chill guy! Immediately after booking he contacted us to arrange the transport from the boat. He helped us buy tickets for the trip back. He was willing to come and pick us up at any time if we got lost on the island. He had great recommendations about basically everything, and whenever we made plans we were sure to ask for his advice. He was basically always reachable over wechat too.
These are just some of the things that he didn't have to provide, but did (or offered): unlimited cold drinking water, ice, proper glasses, a coffee grinder, buckets, shovels, hats, umbrellas, sunscreen, aloe vera plants, flashlights, mosquito repellent etc etc and it feels like we only scratched the surface. It feels like whenever I asked him for something he always had a solution that exceeded my expectations. Great host!
I've traveled to almost 100 countries and while this wasn't the fanciest hotel I've stayed in by any means, this was one of the most memorable hotel experiences I've ever had. If anyone I know plans to visit this island I will for sure recommend this place.

GGuest UserThe boss was very considerate and turned on the air conditioner for us in advance. As soon as we arrived at the B&B, he came to help us with our suitcases. He was very enthusiastic. The TV in the room won't turn on, come and help immediately. Very satisfied. It was just that the weather was cool this time, so it was a pity that I couldn't swim. The swimming pool in the B&B is also great. It is very close to Silver Beach. We go to the beach to play every day after waking up. The children are very happy.

GGuest UserIt's very close to where you get off the boat, and there are many banana trees around! The boss is very polite. We stayed for one night. They picked us up at the exit and gave us a ride for free when they were seeing someone off. You can rent cars here, and they also provide tools for catching seafood. The boss even took us to the seafood catching place in the evening!

Hh z nan aThis hotel is located on Guanto Mountain, making it perfect for sunset views. Getting to the beach from the hotel requires a bit of a walk; it's not direct access. The walk down to the beach is pretty easy, but the uphill trek back to the hotel is exhausting. The sand at Guanto Beach is a bit rough, not as fine and soft as Silver Beach, so it's not ideal for walking barefoot. It's more suited for photo ops. Right by the beach is the famous Instagram-worthy Shanxia Seaview Restaurant. The hotel breakfast offered very few options and wasn't tasty. The lobby was a bit warm. Frankly, if you're just looking to visit for sunset photos and a coffee shop, I don't think it's necessary to stay on Guanto Mountain, especially since a taxi from the city center is only about 20-30 yuan. However, if you do decide to stay on Guanto Mountain, I'd highly recommend the Sheraton. The Guanling Mountain Villa is too close to the beach, making it very damp, and it looks a bit dated.

AAnonymous UserChecked in at night, to be honest, it was not much different from my expectations, the room was very spacious and clean, to be honest, much bigger than the hotels in the city, the price is quite cost-effective. Mainly, it is very close to the coastline, and the balcony is open-air and you can sit, enjoy the sea breeze and look at the sea at night, it is very comfortable.
