The hotel seems to have been renovated recently, and now it is very nice and very clean. For this location, it is probably one of the best options you can get at this price. When I arrived, there was a staff member at the reception who was very helpful. At first she may seem a bit rough in her manner, but she is actually a very kind and helpful person. The room itself is very clean. If you choose the cheapest option, the room does not have a window. However, if you choose the option one level above, you can get a room with a window. Considering the location, the price is very reasonable and it is difficult to find a room this affordable in this area. The room was very clean with no dust at all. The hotel provides all the basic amenities such as slippers, Wi-Fi, a dental kit, shower gel, and towels (one large towel and two hand towels). The bathroom is clean. It is slightly small, but actually a bit larger than another room I stayed in nearby a few days ago. They also provide a hairdryer, and the bed and blanket are very comfortable. The lighting in the room is also good. Overall, for this price, you get a clean room with Wi-Fi and all the essentials, which is really all you need. I stayed in a room without a window on the first day, and on the second day I moved to a slightly more expensive room with a window. Overall, if you are coming here for a short stay, this hotel is a very good option. I stayed for two nights, and the location is unbeatable – super convenient for strolling down Nanjing Road, dining, and shopping. Once, after washing clothes, I realized I had no hangers, so I just grabbed a few from the front desk. The cleaning staff tidied up the common areas every day, and the hot water supply was stable. There were enough power outlets by the beds. The only minor issue was occasional footsteps in the hallway, but drawing the curtain pretty much blocked it out. If you're on a budget and visiting Shanghai, this place is definitely worth considering. I compared several places, and when I left my umbrella behind on the subway, the front desk had kept it safe for me when I returned. Check-in was efficient, and they briefly went over the important points. The bedding was fresh and had no odd smells. You can also get hot water in the common area. You can't expect a hostel to be exactly like a hotel, but for this location and price, it truly exceeded my expectations.

I specifically chose this hostel to experience the old Shikumen lane houses. It's tucked away deep in a bustling alley, and you have to navigate through winding old streets and traditional iron gates to get in. Stepping inside, you're immediately immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of old Shanghai, a delightful surprise for its tranquil location amidst the hustle and bustle. The renovated old house retains its vintage wooden windows and old floor tiles, and the courtyard is filled with greenery. I woke up to the aroma of breakfast stalls from the lane each morning, and in the evenings, I enjoyed the breeze in the courtyard, fully experiencing local life. The beds come with blackout curtains, individual reading lights, and charging ports. Storage lockers are complete, and the bedding is changed daily, fresh and odorless. The bathrooms are cleaned in sections, with 24-hour hot water. The public living area is spacious, with bookshelves, board games, a microwave, and a self-service washing machine – full of thoughtful details. The owner and staff are warm and genuine, proactively sharing local hidden gems for food and off-the-beaten-path routes, helping me avoid tourist traps. Shopping districts and the subway are within walking distance, and there are old-school pastry shops all around. The value for money is absolutely amazing. It's my top choice for solo travelers and students. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shanghai!

The front desk staff were incredibly enthusiastic and accommodating, promptly addressing all reasonable requests. They really enhanced my emotional well-being, making for a great experience! The location is fantastic, very close to the train station, and you can get directly to Disneyland without any transfers!

Came here for a concert. It's only a few minutes' walk from the subway station, so getting around was super convenient. They have public washing machines and dryers, which is a big plus. The hygiene was excellent, and the cleaning staff were really enthusiastic. I booked a 6-bed dorm and an 8-bed dorm for two days, and they upgraded me to a 4-bed dorm. The common areas had a great vibe too! The only downside was that the bathroom door lock was a bit tricky to use.

Facilities: The facilities are very complete. The front desk provides toothbrushes and earplugs, and I even saw disposable bath towels. The Laifen hair dryer was excellent. However, the door to the single room was transparent, very transparent (see photo 4), which made me, as a woman, feel very unsafe. Also, the charger was too far from the pillow, so I couldn't charge my phone and use it while lying down. This is definitely something to be aware of. Service: The service attitude was great. They answered all my questions, and the staff were very enthusiastic. Hygiene: The environment was truly terrible. I booked a single room, and when I entered, there was a strange, damp, and moldy smell. The bed sheets weren't clean either; they had crumbs and oil stains, which was really unpleasant for anyone staying there. I immediately ordered a disposable sleeping bag. Moreover, the desk was completely uncleaned, covered in crumbs. The toilet was okay in terms of hygiene, definitely cleaner than the room itself.

Xiao Duan at the front desk was super helpful and friendly. The hostel itself is great, really quiet with a nice atmosphere. The best part is definitely the convenient location. They clean every day, and the little duck decorations at the front desk are pretty cute!

Excellent! I found the environment here very elegant and artistically beautiful. It's peaceful, allowing for a calm mind, and you can cook your own meals. It has a wonderful, lived-in feel, and the auntie cleans the place spotlessly.

The interior facilities are quite complete, with a cooking area, range hood, and washing machine. It's suitable for long-term stays. The shower drainage isn't very smooth, but the cleanliness is acceptable.

Booked this hotel last minute, cause my favorite hotel is closing down business this month and i wanted something nearer cause I’m well versed with the surrounding areas, 1: the first red flag is the reception, mail and deliveries are all piled up and falling off shelves, it’s so dirty and humid, it looks like a hoarder’s poach, they’re no waiting chairs, so you’ll stand while they process the guests that came before you until it’s your turn !! The receptionists are very nice and helpful . 2; no room housekeeping ( you’ll have to ask for someone to come take the rubbish and give you towels or change your bedding. 3: THE FILTH!!! The filth is on level 1000/100 the grime made it hard for me to shower with my eyes open, I’m not sure if the place has a manager and if they care about the the wellbeing of the clients , because from what i saw, the cleaners don’t even bother, the floor had food stains from i think when they just opened, the sink🤮 the bathroom ( that one corner gave me the hibbigibeis) the toilet seat was broken , everything in the bathroom was broken and dirty , then my charger fell in the space which is between the bathroom glass and the bed, got down to retrieve it and i decided it was best to just a get a new charger instead. The place if cleaned and cared for would be an amazing hotel apartment, it has great amenities , a washing machine a fridge and a drying rack if you upgrade to a bigger room, a kitchenette that would be great if you are interested in cooking and staying longer and it’ has an Aldi downstairs, a gym and lots of other great places surrounding it . I really hope the owners would read this and take it into consideration and carry out serious supervision or else their property will lose value, The hygiene of the hotel does not only ensure the health and wellness of the visitors who sleep in those walls but also keeps the property value up. Dirt And filth only brings it down and puts the health of others at risk . I really hope they change standards.
