"Each and every thing is perfect about this hotel must visit. If you get room with ocean view its best if not than go to top floor they have infinity pool unforgettable experience you will feel like you are leaning in the ocean. No more words to describe. The stay was absolutely fabulous! The room, the sea view and the view bath was top notch! First stay at granbell and what an experience it was! The sunset with the infinity pool was another world! Also, not to forget the warm welcome we received from the Front Desk Staff, they gave us the Perfect first impression of the Hotel and the final send off was so friendly as well."

"This was our second time visiting this hotel. We were pretty impressed during our first time but sad to say that this time there were so many disappointments. We had to change rooms 5 times due to various issues. When we checked in and proceeded to our first room, it smelt of cigarette smoke. We changed to another room and it smelt of awful toilet smell. We changed to another room and stayed there for a night, realizing we were covered with insect bites all over our body the next morning. We then changed another room where the aircon was very dusty and the room was very dusty as well. We adjusted to that but I fell sick the next day due to the dust. My husband requested for another change and they finally only then gave us an upgrade of a room but we were already half way through our stay. Housekeeping service was not always prompt and I had to call in a couple of times just for water and towels. Breakfast was really good. Sadly, I won’t be coming back to stay again due to all these issues. Hopefully management can work towards bettering it."

"The hotel is close to the sea, but buildings block the view, so you can't really see it. It's very close to the mini-train along the coast, and there are supermarkets and malls nearby, which is quite convenient. I arrived two hours early, and they allowed me to check in ahead of time. While I waited, they even offered me a glass of juice. Surprisingly, they didn't charge me the extra $3+ that I was supposed to pay on-site (I reminded the staff, but after checking, they told me it wasn't necessary). I booked a two-meal package, both buffets. The dinner selection seemed less extensive than breakfast, perhaps because fewer people booked it. A bit of a mix-up happened because I wasn't told the dining times, so I went for dinner before 7 PM. The restaurant was completely empty. Later, I saw on a screen that dinner apparently starts at 7 PM, but the staff member just let me in without explanation – which honestly gave me a very good feeling about their service. The room was spacious, and the type I booked surprisingly had two beds pushed together to form a super-king size. The soundproofing with the next room was pretty good; the people next door were playing music from check-in until after 10 PM, but I could only hear a faint sound once the street quieted down. That's acceptable. Sometimes the street noise was quite noticeable, but my tolerance for ambient street noise is higher than my tolerance for noise from neighboring rooms. The pool is on the top floor, and so is the restaurant. As an introvert, I'm not a big fan of this design. Overall, the stay was quite comfortable and offered excellent value for money."

"Super convenient downtown location, close to everything! It's also not far from the beach, where you can watch the mini train. The room was really clean, and for the price in a city center, it's a great deal. I arrived exhausted at 1 AM after my flight, rushed a taxi to the hotel, and the owner was actually waiting for me! Seeing me, a woman with lots of luggage, he immediately helped me and offered me a cold bottle of water. I was so touched! He took me to my room and set up the Wi-Fi for me. It might be a tourist city, so perhaps they encourage bringing your own slippers for environmental reasons. (Definitely take some beautiful photos of this city, and experience the Ghibli movie vibe by riding the mini train!)"

"I chose the newly opened Amari Hotel (Amari Colombo) for my first two nights in Colombo, drawn by its reputation for sea views. The sea view from the room and the rooftop infinity pool were huge plusses, and the service was good, but there were quite a few flaws. I stayed in a Deluxe Sea View King Room on the 16th floor. The room's large floor-to-ceiling windows directly faced the sea, offering a great view and easy sunset watching. Unfortunately, the popular Grabbell Hotel partially obstructed the view to the left, making the angle for admiring the sea from bed not ideal. The room itself was very new, but the design had numerous illogical aspects: ① The 'king' bed was actually two single beds pushed together, with a gap in the middle, making it very uncomfortable to sleep on. ② The bathroom wasn't a 'three-fixture separation' (toilet, shower, sink in separate areas), and opening the bathroom door completely blocked the toilet, leading to poor circulation and accessibility. ③ After the main light switch was turned off for a period, the power outlets also shut off, preventing phone charging. If the main switch wasn't turned off, some lights couldn't be switched off individually. ④ The curtains required pulling cords on both sides to operate, and there was no corresponding instruction in the room. I only discovered this after struggling to pull the curtains for a long time. I was quite surprised to find such design flaws in a hotel that had been open for two years. The hotel service attitude was generally good. Checking in at 1:30 AM, the concierge was still on duty, helping with luggage from the car and later delivering it to the room. The front desk staff were also very friendly, and I didn't experience any discrimination. The rooftop infinity pool on the 26th floor also directly faces the sea. The pool isn't large or deep, but it's sufficient for leisure. There's also a bar by the pool, offering panoramic views of most of Colombo, with particularly stunning scenery at dusk. Breakfast, located on the 5th floor, featured strong local characteristics, with an array of various curries spread across the buffet. Opinions were sharply divided; my wife loved it, while I couldn't get used to it at all. Overall, to fully enjoy this hotel, you need to book a sea-view room and comfortably watch the sunset from your room or the rooftop pool. Otherwise, it's just a slightly flawed, but generally acceptable, four-star hotel."

"Although I checked in late and missed the sunset, the location was fantastic. I stayed in a Signature Plus Seaview Twin Room this time. The amenities were plentiful, and the shower pressure was excellent, making for a very comfortable stay. The breakfast was also delicious. However, I recommend dining indoors for breakfast. On the terrace, birds (crows) were eyeing the food. While the staff were constantly vigilant, some guests still had their food snatched when the staff weren't looking. The adjoining shopping center isn't particularly large, but it's perfect for a post-meal stroll or to kill a bit of time. The main reason I chose this hotel was definitely the infinity pool! Since it was the rainy season, I took advantage of breaks in the weather to use it, and it was truly amazing. I wish I could have stayed for two or more nights to enjoy it more leisurely. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay, and I would love to stay at this hotel again."

"We feel welcome upon check in. The room is very clean and very spacious. The reception staff help attend to all our queries promptly and assist us with our transport arrangement. Also help us with our luggages to and fro our room and to our car. Bed is comfortable, aircon is cold and hot shower is good. Room has WiFi and TV. Hot water for coffee and tea are located in the kitchen area . Free water from the water dispenser in the kitchen There is central ironing available outside the rooms for sharing. Washroom is very spacious, modern and well maintained with wet and dry area. Toilet roll, towels, Shower gel, hand soap and shampoo are provided. Breakfast is simple buffet with cereals with milk, toast with butter and jam, fruits, omelette with chicken sausage, coffee, tea and juice. The location is next to the main road at the outskirts of the city but is near many shops and a small train station. Overall very comfortable nice rest and breakfast with great staff. Great hospitality"

"Let me start with a few downsides: for a five-star hotel, there was no liquid hand soap, only bar soap. The toiletries were also very basic, small plastic bottles. We had to specifically ask for bathrobes and the low-quality disposable toothbrushes. The soundproofing was terrible; every time someone knocked on the opposite door, I felt like they were knocking on ours. The good points are: we were given two bottles of cinnamon drink upon arrival, the pool is beautiful, and the gym is decent. Apparently, haircuts are free, though I didn't try it, and there's a sauna too. We paid an average of over 600, and the taxes were quite high, so the value for money wasn't great in comparison. Oh, and the service was quite slow; we had to wait 10-20 minutes even for toothbrushes."

"Location is consider prime central location, 3mins drive to Face Galle Mall and beach. The hotel is old and outdated. I was assigned old outdated room on 15th floor at 3:30pm. My attival experience is very bad due to pver crowded guests at check-in area and they do not have enough man-power to cater the peak. I'm disappointed with my room x old and outdated. After 2 nights stay I requested to change to RENOVATED room at level 8. Which is much comfortable and same as advertised in trip.com. i extended another 3 nights and total stay for 5 night ay hilton. Breakfast area is very crowded and the spread is okay. Next time I willntry sheraton colombo"
