The air conditioning was incredibly loud, severely impacting my sleep quality. I had no choice but to turn it off every night. The bedding and towels were disgustingly dirty, covered in old stains – truly nauseating. The bathroom door design was impractical; it blocked the toilet when opened, forcing you to squeeze past or detour through the shower. This is probably why there's no door for the shower, which resulted in the entire bathroom flooding after every shower. I had to throw all the towels on the floor to soak up the water, and I assume others did the same. It felt really off-putting then using new towels to dry myself. The soundproofing was terrible. The windows and room door already offered poor insulation, and to top it off, I was assigned a connecting room. Over 5 nights, there were at least three different sets of guests next door. The last family (who were also my compatriots) were incredibly loud at 2 or 3 AM, talking loudly, video calling, and even singing. I called room service to ask them to intervene, but it only stayed quiet for about 5 minutes before they started again. I just had to endure it, waiting until I was utterly exhausted before I could finally fall asleep. Aside from the decent service, and the cheap price, there's nothing good about this place.

The room was spacious and clean. The service was excellent, and the breakfast offered a great variety. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay. The food at Prego on the 26th floor was also delicious.

I had a wonderful stay. The rooftop infinity pool is the absolute highlight, the view of the ocean is breathtaking, especially at sunset. The room was clean, modern, and well-designed with a great bathroom. The location is perfect for exploring Colombo, and the staff were very welcoming. Highly recommend this for anyone visiting the city!

Staying at your hotel was a truly delightful experience. Falling asleep under the stars in such tranquil surroundings, and waking up to the beautiful distant mountains and nearby waters right outside my window, was simply enchanting. The hotel's attention to detail, from the soft bedding to the perfectly adjusted lighting, was impeccable and truly commendable.

I chose the newly opened Amari Hotel (Amari Colombo) for my first two nights in Colombo, drawn by its reputation for sea views. The sea view from the room and the rooftop infinity pool were huge plusses, and the service was good, but there were quite a few flaws. I stayed in a Deluxe Sea View King Room on the 16th floor. The room's large floor-to-ceiling windows directly faced the sea, offering a great view and easy sunset watching. Unfortunately, the popular Grabbell Hotel partially obstructed the view to the left, making the angle for admiring the sea from bed not ideal. The room itself was very new, but the design had numerous illogical aspects: ① The 'king' bed was actually two single beds pushed together, with a gap in the middle, making it very uncomfortable to sleep on. ② The bathroom wasn't a 'three-fixture separation' (toilet, shower, sink in separate areas), and opening the bathroom door completely blocked the toilet, leading to poor circulation and accessibility. ③ After the main light switch was turned off for a period, the power outlets also shut off, preventing phone charging. If the main switch wasn't turned off, some lights couldn't be switched off individually. ④ The curtains required pulling cords on both sides to operate, and there was no corresponding instruction in the room. I only discovered this after struggling to pull the curtains for a long time. I was quite surprised to find such design flaws in a hotel that had been open for two years. The hotel service attitude was generally good. Checking in at 1:30 AM, the concierge was still on duty, helping with luggage from the car and later delivering it to the room. The front desk staff were also very friendly, and I didn't experience any discrimination. The rooftop infinity pool on the 26th floor also directly faces the sea. The pool isn't large or deep, but it's sufficient for leisure. There's also a bar by the pool, offering panoramic views of most of Colombo, with particularly stunning scenery at dusk. Breakfast, located on the 5th floor, featured strong local characteristics, with an array of various curries spread across the buffet. Opinions were sharply divided; my wife loved it, while I couldn't get used to it at all. Overall, to fully enjoy this hotel, you need to book a sea-view room and comfortably watch the sunset from your room or the rooftop pool. Otherwise, it's just a slightly flawed, but generally acceptable, four-star hotel.

This is a fine place to stay for a night in Colombo, but for such a new hotel there are already issues that are concerning. The Pros: Staff are very helpful and friendly, the rooftop bar has some of the best cocktails and shisha we’ve had in Sri Lanka (shoutout Gayan). Check in and out was easy, and despite our early checkout we were provided with a breakfast pack to takeaway. The room is spacious and the view of Colombo magnificent. The Cons: This place opened in 2024 and sadly has not been well maintained. Already there are numerous issues with dirt and general wear and tear, and it seems that there were no attempts to future-proof the hotel. There are no USB-C charging slots which is odd for a new hotel, and no smart room functions which is often a key part of any new hotel. Also for some reason our toilet would keep water running through the flush non stop, and the tap for the sink is positioned so oddly that it basically soaks the whole bathroom countertop. The main issue however is the cleanliness. In general it was fine but not great - our carpet had numerous stains for instance. However, one of our pillows and one of our towels both contained noticeable dirt patches on them - that should be unacceptable at a hotel like this, and certainly in a suite such as ours. The Amari is fine, but I was disappointed and expected more. My concern is that despite opening in 2024, it feels as if it was opened in 2004.

Not too sure if the location is good or not, but we find it is central enough to go anywhere we wanted although we have a driver to take us around. At night, after shopping from One Face Galle, it takes about 20mins including traffic jams to reach the hotel by uber. The view from our city view room is stunning too. You can see the Lotus Tower from the window, or you can rooftop bar with the amazing night view. Breakfast selection was absolutely amazing and the restaurant has a nice sea view. Hope we will come back again.

Perfect location for people who wants to take train from Kollupitiya Railway Station. The night and ocean view from 26th floor rooftop bar and swimming pool is awesome. Room is clean and comfy, breakfast with plenty of varieties and food tasty too. Service is topnotch. If we revisit Colombo will stay Amari again.
