"I booked this place based on location and price, and as expected, you get what you pay for. It's more of a motel than a hotel, which explains why 'Hotel' isn't in its name, haha. The building itself is old, and the facilities are outdated. The room was tiny, not even big enough to open a suitcase, and the carpet was dirty with stains. The bathroom had a shower stall, but since the room was small, the bathroom was too, making the shower stall so cramped that a larger person would barely fit. Breakfast was served in the cafe on the first floor, where you could choose one item from the menu, but the portion was insufficient. The advantages of this place are that it has a refrigerator and cable TV. Most channels were in Russian, so I didn't watch them much, but it's commendable compared to most cheap hotels these days that only have smart TVs with no cable, forcing you to watch only YouTube or Netflix. Also, if you have an early morning day tour and need to leave the hotel, you can request a breakfast box, and they'll prepare a sandwich and water the night before. I probably won't go back, but considering how overpriced Almaty hotels are for their facilities, it's not entirely bad for a motel."
