The hotel is located just opposite the Hakodate JR station and bus station, very convenient to travel around at Hakodate. Necessary razors, comb, tea and ear buds can be collected from the lobby. The staff here are very polite and helpful. Special thanks to 大和and 藤田. They helped us to fill up the form to send our luggage to Sapporo and contact Sapporo hotel. (Additional price needed for the 宅急便). This makes our journey easier to go around without carrying heavy luggage up and down the JR. The hotel breakfast is just additional 1200 Yen per person. Last time I came to Hakodate, I stayed at the famous La Vista Hakodate Annex Hotel (not the one in Hakodate Bay). The experience was very good. However, because the itinerary was a bit rushed this time, I didn't book La Vista. I temporarily chose Century Marina, which has a good reputation. The location is right next to La Vista and is also in the Kanemori Warehouse Group. It takes about 7 minutes to get there from the JR station. Downstairs is the Hakodate Morning Market.
The feature here is that guests can choose their favorite aromatherapy and pillows that they feel comfortable with before checking in. There are many choices of aromatherapy and pillows, each with a large row, and there is always one suitable for you. Aromatherapy can be placed next to the pillow to help sleep.
La Vista is more famous for breakfast, and I didn't expect Century Marina to be quite good. The variety is very rich and the ingredients are top-notch. During the peak breakfast time, there will be a queue for calling numbers. Many Hakodate-limited ones must not be missed. Beer and champagne are provided, and coffee is from the local brand Meiling, which can be taken away when you leave.
The open-air hot spring faces Mount Hakodate, and the scenery is not much different from La Vista. There are indoor and outdoor hot springs. The outdoor one is of course not to be missed, but it will be closed if it rains, so be aware of this. Take an open-air bath while looking at Mt. Hakodate and the streets of Hakodate, and then have a spa after coming out, and the fatigue of the journey will disappear. By the way, the lotion here is particularly easy to use, a local brand, the lotion is very easy to spread, and has a good moisturizing effect. It is sold in the store downstairs for 2,300 yen. It is recommended not to miss it. I searched the entire network but couldn't find it.
When you stay at Heiseikan Shiosaitei Hanatsuki in Hakodate, you'll be by the sea, a 1-minute drive from Yunokawa Hot Spring and 5 minutes from Fort Goryokaku. This ryokan is 0.2 mi (0.3 km) from Hakodate Tropical Botanical Garden and 0.3 mi (0.5 km) from Yunokawa Onsen.
Take advantage of recreation opportunities such as hot springs, or other amenities including complimentary wireless internet access and gift shops/newsstands.
Enjoy a meal at the restaurant or snacks in the ryokan's coffee shop/cafe. A complimentary buffet breakfast is served daily from 7 AM to 9 AM.
Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Make yourself at home in one of the 20 guestrooms featuring refrigerators and flat-screen televisions. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Partially open bathrooms with showers feature complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. Conveniences include laptop-compatible safes and desks, and housekeeping is provided daily.

I recently stayed at a hotel that truly impressed me. The facilities were spotlessly clean, ensuring a comfortable stay. Breakfast was abundant and of top quality, providing a great start to my days. The on-site hot springs were a soothing treat, perfect for relaxation. The service was attentive and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. Plus, the room offered a breathtaking view, which added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking comfort and exceptional service.

Outstanding
GGuest UserSuper super like this hostel.
Just 4-5 stops by Tram from JR Hakodate Station, about 10-15mins rides.
I stayed in Mix Dorm but very safe n quiet.
For ladies Shower Room, only lady with access card can tap in.
Inside ladies shower room got washing machine and Dryer.
Like their Level 4 shared Kitchen which can cook, heat up and eat at this area.
I get to know few other visitor friends from different country and have a nice chat.
The L4 rooftop just outside of the shared kitchen, and viewing at the Red Brick Warehouse.
There are 2 Lucky Pierrot Burger (Crown Burger) outlet just behind this hostel, one just behind hostel and another one located at Red brick Warehouse.
They do have bicycle for renting.
Hostel main Road are facing the famous photo spot Hachiman-Zaka Slope (八幡坂) and walking distance to the Mt Hakodate Ropeway station.
The staff are very nice and can speak well English.
Sure will stay here again if I revisit Hakodate in future.
IIHFYSuper stay at this traditional onsen inn! It’s an easy 5 minutes walk from the tram stop and it is a peaceful and hospitable place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights with breakfast included (you have it in your room, the staff come to roll up your tatami 30 mins before - we just went to the onsen during this time) which was traditional Japanese style and delicious. The onsens are not too big but there are outdoor and indoor sections and perfectly adequate. The staff look after you warmly and we loved our experience of traditional Japanese culture here. Oh, and it’s near the Botanical Gardens where we saw monkeys bathing in the onsen.
GGuest UserWe booked this hotel for a special stay for our Christmas Day abroad and it did not disappoint. The rooms are cozy, spacious and quiet with very comfy beds. We appreciated the entry way with the closet and shoe rack. We also appreciated the shower with great pressure, the large sink counter and the Japanese style toilet. There was also a good amount of toiletries provided. We had Japanese style pajamas, slippers for the room, sandals to go around the hotel in and even slippers specifically for the toilet area. The room has a large TV and you can connect to it with an HDMI cable or screencast but we could not figure out how to screencast. The hotel primarily caters to Japanese so the important stuff was in English but the little things like the remote control and temperature control were not.
We booked our stay with the buffet dinner and breakfast and for our stay it seems that all the greatest hits for Japanese cuisine were out. For dinner they had a steak grilling station, a BBQ scallop station, a sushi chef, crab dumplings and all kinds of accompaniments. For the dessert they had an array of tasty sweets but we enjoyed the macarons and Hokkaido ice cream the most. The breakfast was equally fantastic with a miso soup station, all kinds of sashimi, black pork dumplings, fried chicken and all kinds of crowd pleasers. There is a juice station and a coffee machine that makes all kinds of drinks so we were very pleased with the meals. We appreciated the plates and small dishes that allowed for small portions so we could pretty much try everything. Some items at the buffet did run out and these were specifically the small dishes - it is worth going early for breakfast and dinner because some items are not replenished and I found quite a few of these very delicious!
There isn't much around the hotel other than a 7-11 and a small botanical garden across the bridge but it is definitely a hotel meant to stay in and enjoy. We went to the onsen at night and in the morning and really enjoyed the outdoor bath which was sea facing. At night you could hear the waves and see the stars and during the day you could enjoy the beach and mountain view. The onsen baths have a variety of temperature pools and saunas and good bath products. There is a machine that dispenses a few pop flavours, cold tea and mineral water in the change room. There was a variety of self care products available in the change rooms as well like toothbrushes and razors.
Our room was very cozy after our bath and we found that the temperature for the hotel was possibly centrally controlled and not adjustable according to Google translation. It was set at a balmy 24 but we did figure out how to turn it off and got a comfortable night's rest. I wasn't a big fan of the hard toothbrushes that were provided mainly because the toothbrush used a coating rather than toothpaste which makes them truly single use.
The hotel offers quite a few amenities outside of the onsen area but the onsen was the highlight for us. They have a lounge area with lots of seats looking out to the sea near the front desk, a separate restaurant from the buffet restaurant, a souvenir shop that sells drinks too and luggage storage. We aren't sure if there are multiple floors with laundry machines but the one laundry room we did find only had one machine so this might not be a hotel to do your laundry at.
The hotel is easily accessible from both the train station and airport. From the train station you can take a bus or the tram which would take about 30 minutes and from the airport there are some dedicated busses that will take about 15 minutes. The bus station and tram station closest to the hotel is Yunokawa Onsen.
This was a great stay for us and we felt one night here was perfect. There is a lot to see in Hakodate and had we stayed longer we would have chosen a more economical option but this truly was a special treat for us.
GGuest UserWhen checking in at the hotel front desk, I met a Chinese-speaking boy who made communication smoother. He took out the hotel brochure and the hotel's free tour bus and patiently and thoroughly introduced the hotel's various facilities, venues, and the routes and rides of the free tour bus. The hotel is very new. There is a self-service luggage storage cabinet near the lobby. The room is very clean (be careful to change shoes in the entrance and then step on the carpet inside). The base wall on the second floor is painted very cutely, introducing nearby food and scenic spots. The hand sanitizer in the room smells a bit like LELABO's cypress, and it smells good after washing your hands.
Service: It is worth mentioning that the hotel front desk helped to call and make reservations for restaurants, which is really great!
Pphua.scI personally feel this hotel is a good starting point especially if you love exploring by walking.
From Hakodate Train Station, it is about a 5-10 min walk. Along the way, you'll find a number of food options (kaizen-don selection) at Hakodate Asaichi that is best for breakfast/lunch and also Lucky Pierrot (local restaurant burger chain with wide selection) across the street. There is also a Lawson's convenience store nearby.
The hotel is within walking distance (<5 min) from the Morning Market (where you can get all the preserved seafood for souvenirs) and also the must-try Uni Marumaki's (price range Y3500 and up for the recommended items). Further up, after about 20 minutes walking, is the Red Brick Warehouses (Lots of souvenir shopping and some of the more-branded food to try between meals - cakes, ice cream etc). The Hakodate Seafood Market is also around this area where fresh sashimi is available. I was surprised to find similarly priced oysters (Y900 for 2) here that's of better quality than at the Morning Market.
I've concentrated so far on the plentiful food options nearby because the breakfast buffet had very, very limited options and limited seating (see last photo). The main option I could recall was a selection of onigiri with different flavours, some western-type food, and bread. I think it's fine because Hakodate is really a foodie's place so you should try eating outside the hotel (especially sashimi and kaizendon).
The hotel itself is very clean and has all basic amenities that serve it's purpose.
MMS JshyWe had 2 kids 2 adults and both kids and adults like the room a lot . It’s not a hotel with a lot of services but it’s totally fine for us ( Eg no room cleaning but basket with clean towels were delivered to the door next morning . Enough space for our luggages ( 1 big 1 medium 1 small ) Kids love the bunk bed ( altho have to remind them not to stand up when they wake up due to ceiling height) The beds on the bottom is actually big enough for 2 ppl I think, but I had it all for myself. There is a kitchen sink, fridge and even a microwave and simple utensils. 2 min away walking to morning seafood market, and there is also outdoor parking area right outside the hotel. Check in staff is nice and checkout was super fast too. We re glad we chose this hotel!
AAnonymous UserI recently stayed at Hotel Resol Hakodate during a trip to Hakodate, Japan, and I was very impressed with my experience. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city, within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and shops.
One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's breakfast, which was simply delicious. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options, including both Japanese and Western- style dishes. I particularly enjoyed the freshly made omelets, the crispy bacon, and the perfectly cooked rice. The coffee was also excellent, which is always a plus in my book.
GGuest UserNo English speaking staff available. Younger staffs assistance was better due to easier communication. Food is not as great as expected however the onsen water was great. Stayed for 5 days and my skin was much softer. Only if the buffet was better quality,,, But i would visit Hakodate again for onsen and food with a view. I iked the city muvh better than osaka for sure.
GGuest UserBreakfast has very good selection but a lot of people, we ate seafood rice here and felt great! Parking overnight is 1000 yen only for hotel guest, it works for us. We did not move the car after we checked in. We walk to the foothill of the mountain, took that rope way to enjoy the night view of Hakodate. We walk around the area most of the time.
KKa ManOur group of three temporarily added one more night and had to have one more room. The hotel staff kindly confirmed and arranged the room again and again. Originally only booked a smoking room and a lower floor room, but the hotel gave us a non-smoking and high-floor room. The location of the hotel is very convenient to take the tram to various attractions. I will definitely recommend friends to Hakodate to choose them. The breakfast is also very suitable for my taste and many choices. I am very satisfied with this hotel experience.
