Located in Cebu City and with Fuente Osmena Circle reachable within a 8-minute walk, Yellow Umbrella Hostels has a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a bar. The property is around a 18-minute walk from Ayala Center Cebu, 1.5 miles from Colon Street and 1.8 miles from Magellan's Cross. The property provides a shared kitchen, a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage for guests. Guest rooms in the hostel are equipped with an electric tea pot. Complete with a private bathroom, all rooms at Yellow Umbrella Hostels come with air conditioning, and some rooms also offer a patio. The rooms will provide guests with a fridge. SM City Cebu is 1.9 miles from the accommodation, while Fort San Pedro is 1.9 miles from the property. Mactan-Cebu International Airport is 7.5 miles away.

"Wonderful hostel, with lovely and responsive staff! There's a kitchen, comfortable beds (I slept like a log), an en-suite shower, a quiet air conditioner, and no smell in the room (though there was a pretty strong cat odor on the first floor). I've stayed here twice. It was great to come back to the same room after two months of traveling around the Philippines! The location is good too! It's a 7-minute scooter ride to the port and about 30 minutes by car to the airport. Thank you! I definitely recommend it!"

AAnonymous UserBreakfast was unfortunately not very good. Few options of western breakfast - at least some bread but no sausage or cheese. The staff is great tho. The elevator times are always very long - from the ground and on your room level. Otherwise the hotel is totally fine - enough space - and the pool is good as well. Next to the hotel is a 7/11, so a snack is never far away ;)

LLvxingdarenxiaowangziThe hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of amenities nearby. The service is also top-notch, and every staff member is very enthusiastic. However, there are a few drawbacks: the bathroom is tiny, the soundproofing in the rooms isn't great, and the breakfast selection is quite limited. If these issues were improved, it would easily be a five-star hotel.

GGuest UserA very nice small hotel (positions itself as a boutique). Excellent food. Prices are a little higher than, say, in town, but not by much. Cleaning, service, etc. are all up to par. There's a small but very beautiful reef with lots of turtles (though the entry into the water isn't great, but that's the case everywhere). I should also mention the downsides: 1. The shower in the second-floor room has very weak water pressure, just a thin trickle (both hot and cold). 2. It's far from the airport (but good places in Cebu always are :( ) Thanks to the hotel owner, Mike, for a wonderful time and attentive service! :)

GGuest UserI booked for a room with pool view which is more expensive than the rest of the rooms but i was greatly disappointed. We were placed in a room with a roof view and the view of another building! It was a waste of money! We only get to see the roof of something! Never again would i be paying extra money for a pool view when the hotel will not give us such kind of room as advertised. They said they will transfer us to a room with a pool view but it did not happen. We kept on waiting but it did not happen until we gave up. The receptionist was a little disrespectful and impatient. Worse still, they do not allow guests who have checked in the hotel to use the pool with inflatable play set and slides. I was mislead into thinking that guests can use the pool with inflatable play set for free. The hotel guests have to pay P600 per person in order for one to be able to use such pool and slides. I guess families with children have been more disappointed than me knowing that they and their kids could not use such pool for free. So those who will try to book this hotel hoping their kids can enjoy the pool with inflatable play set and slides for free, think again. You will be greatly disappointed because you will only be able to use the ordinary pools.

TTreyExplorerAmazing staff! Great food, many pools, and brilliant atmosphere. I was in a newly renovated room. Although the toilet seat definitely needed updating. The seat was damaged/old and needed replacing. I requested this two days in a row, and it wasn’t changed. Other than the toilet seat issue, my stay was perfect.

RRIf you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature, with a refreshing atmosphere in a remote location and especially if you’re into advanced diving this is an excellent place to stay. We stayed for just 1 night, as we wanted to explore other activities and we’re not advanced divers, so we decided to change our plans. A quick tip: prepare cash in advance. The nearest ATM is quite far from the resort, so you’ll need to take a tricycle or rent a motorbike. The resort only accepts cash. The highlight for us was the stunning sea view and breathtaking sunset. The property isn’t very large, but with plenty of trees it feels secluded and peaceful. The food was also delicious.

AAnonymous UserI booked this hotel at a discounted rate and found it to be an incredible value given the central location and modern rooms. I did encounter a minor issue with the free breakfast credit upon arrival, but the staff was excellent—they quickly coordinated with Trip.com to resolve it immediately.

JJessa LeopardasI loved my room. It was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The shower had great hot water and strong pressure, the Wi-Fi was reliable, and the AC worked well. Most of the staff were attentive and helpful, except at the front desk, which was disappointing. Check-in was at 2 pm. Instead of waiting in the lobby, I let them know I would be at the café and asked to be informed once my room was ready. However, even after 2 pm, I had to return to the lobby myself and still wait before the room was given to me. During check-out, I checked out early and was told to take a seat while they processed my deposit. I waited 30 minutes, and if I hadn’t followed up again, I believe I would have waited even longer as they seemed to have completely forgotten I was waiting. Aside from these front desk issues, the rest of my stay was terrific.

BBoris AtamanenkoIt's a mixed bag. The location is excellent, offering a different, good sea every day. For safe swimming, you need to follow the tide schedule. The hotel grounds and plants are very well maintained; they're beautiful and clean. There's a long stretch of beach for strolls. Logistically convenient – there are plenty of cafes, restaurants, shops selling travel essentials, and a market with fresh produce nearby. A major drawback is the large construction site nearby, which can be heard all day, especially in the bungalows nearby. The rooms and bungalows are in fair condition. However, there are some serious downsides: every other day, it was impossible to shower due to low water pressure; when the pressure was low, the water heater wouldn't turn on; and the water had a strong sewer smell. At breakfast, the restaurant won't offer you salt, pepper, or sauces unless you ask. Drinks include juice from concentrate or coffee. Only after a week did we discover they offer tea for breakfast. The breakfast is very basic, and there's no fruit at all, which is surprising given the price of fruit on the island. There was trash on the beach all week, just a little bit, washed up by the sea. It was cleaned up quickly, as it didn't require much effort. But why is the beach cleaned only once a week? The hotel website advertises a shuttle service, but I advise against it. Personal experience: I sent a text message and email to the hotel on time; our ferry departed at 5:30 PM. We arrived on the island around 7:00 PM. We weren't met. We got there ourselves. A hotel security guard met us at the hotel and gave us our room keys. It immediately became clear that the light switch in the bathroom was causing lightning and could shock us, and the water heater wasn't working. The security guard said, ”Take this up with the management tomorrow; my concern is safety.” Information about room problems is not passed on to the management. So, we spent the first night without hot water or power in the bathroom. After we contacted them, they gave us a working room mid-way through the second day. They didn't apologize for the missed shuttle service, and they didn't offer the stated compensation for our independent transfer. Moreover, I received a welcome email from the hotel after only one day of my stay. The hotel has adequate staff, and the people are positive and friendly. However, management, quality control, and leadership are seriously flawed. The rooms are overloaded with text reminders, rules, and restrictions, many of which would be confusing to a normal person. Or does the hotel manager think only people with dementia stay at their hotel? Reminders and restrictions are completely unnecessary if guests are greeted promptly and the necessary information is provided electronically in their native language.
