Guest UserStumbled upon this guesthouse online and decided to check it out before the May Day holiday rush. I was initially worried it might be a 'seller's show' (looks better in pictures than in real life), but it turned out to be 100% accurate to what was posted! Overall, a great experience.
**Environment:** The guesthouse is set up like an estate, offering good privacy, so you're not disturbed by non-hotel guests or road noise.
**Facilities:** The infinity pool in the room seems to circulate filtered seawater, which was very clean. It's perfect for taking photos at night when the lights are on, but it does shut off at 12 AM. There's also an outdoor pool on the first floor facing the sea. The minibar and fridge drinks in the room are complimentary, and all the amenities are of good quality.
**Service:** The hotel staff were incredibly attentive. Right after booking, I immediately received a call from the owner. After adding them on WeChat, they confirmed my arrival time and whether I wanted the pool pre-filled, etc. Throughout my stay, I felt that all the staff had a great attitude.
This is also a pet-friendly establishment. If you bring a pet, they provide a pet amenities kit with pee pads, diapers, disposable bowls, chew toys like Boryeongdan, and more. I brought my own dog bed, and they mentioned they also offer small beds. However, there's an additional cleaning fee for pets, which I didn't see on the booking page and only found out about upon arrival.

This stay was absolutely fantastic! The breakfast spread was amazing, with aromatic breads and authentic kway teow soup noodles that hit the spot. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and cozy. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and thoughtful; they even called ahead to check on our needs before we arrived. They also thoughtfully prepared kid's toiletries since we were traveling with a child, and we got to enjoy a lovely afternoon tea. The overall service was meticulous and attentive, and the value for money was excellent. Highly recommend!

VickyqiaoqiaoziSeriously, I've hit the jackpot with this find in Shantou's old town! ✨
This Wabi-sabi style B&B next to Shantou MixC is perfect for both exploring and chilling out. It beautifully blends Wabi-sabi aesthetics right into a bustling commercial area. Step out and you're in the heart of the action; step in and you're met with tranquility. It's an absolute no-brainer for a relaxed trip! 🔒
📍 **[Prime Location · Foodie Heaven]**
Right next to MixC, and just a short walk to Longyannan Road Food Street! You can grab beef hotpot, kway teow soup, and fried kway teow right downstairs. No need to rush for transportation to go shopping or visit popular spots. It's all about ultimate freedom to eat and explore in Chaoshan! 🍜
🏠 **[Wabi-sabi Aesthetics · Utterly Relaxing]**
The micro-cement walls paired with natural wood furniture, accented by dried floral arrangements and artistic pottery, give off a sophisticated vibe everywhere you look. The floor-to-ceiling windows provide incredible natural light. The room features a bathtub and projector – perfect for a fragrant bath while watching a movie to melt all your fatigue away. The public areas, like the tea room and reading nook, are open for anyone to sit, brew a pot of Phoenix Dancong tea, and enjoy a moment of peace in the bustling city. Guest UserMy stay at the Chao Hong Ji Intercity Hotel in Shantou exceeded my expectations. The high-floor, floor-to-ceiling windows offered a stunning, expansive view directly overlooking the Inner Harbor, with a spectacular night view. The entire room featured smart controls, and the facilities were brand new and comprehensive. The room was spotlessly clean and tidy, with exceptional attention to detail. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, ensuring a great night's sleep. The bathroom design was well-thought-out, and the mirror even had an anti-fog function, which was a fantastic touch. The staff were polite and responsive to requests. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety, including authentic Chaoshan delicacies. The hotel environment was quiet and elegant, and its location made it very convenient for getting around. I'm extremely satisfied and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shantou!

Ancho-I'm writing this review a month after checking out, because just thinking about it still makes me angry 😤!
Room: First, let's talk about the room layout. I booked a tatami room thinking it would be good for storing things. I arrived in Shantou late at night, and after checking in, I opened the room door to find a mirror directly facing the entrance (with a small spotlight above it). All the fatigue from driving for several hours instantly vanished – it was horrifying! What kind of designer puts a mirror facing the door? Later, I realized it was probably because the room was small and there was nowhere else to put the mirror. The entire room didn't even have a proper desk, just a very small low table, about 20-30 cm high. After putting a tissue box on it, it was hard to even eat takeout. There was no space for laptops, tablets, or personal items, so I had to put them on the wooden shelf above the water kettle. The entire room only shared one trash can with the toilet area… The smart features of the toilet were all in useless places; it didn't have heating or a bidet, just a motion-sensing lid opener? Every time I went to the shower, the toilet lid would open automatically 😂.
For a hotel that costs several hundred yuan, they use 'Bing Lu' mineral water, which even the Orange hotel two blocks away doesn't use anymore. The room came with a coffee machine, but no milk or sugar, which is unfriendly to those who like sweets.
Now, for the main reason I felt compelled to write this review. I'm a woman with rather dry hair, reaching about my waist, so conditioner is a must after washing. When I went to use the conditioner after washing my hair, it looked like there was still some left, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't pump any out. The nozzle and bottle were in one piece and couldn't be twisted open. The frustration and anger at that moment were immense! 😤😤 This led to my hair getting tangled, and it took a long time to sort out, ruining my mood for the whole day. Do they really need to be *that* economical? Leaving so little in the bottle just for show?
Also, the hotel is truly economical; the elevator doesn't have air conditioning. At around 9 AM, I took the elevator, and there was a very strong smell of sweat inside. There must have been workers who had done a lot of strenuous work and then took the elevator, and the smell was all trapped inside. It was truly awful 🤢. It really doesn't feel like an international brand hotel. Perhaps the Wyndham next door would offer a much better experience.

ErliangwanzaGreat service! The front desk lady was very friendly and polite. The hotel's cleanliness exceeded my expectations. For just over 300 yuan, this quality would easily cost 400-500 yuan elsewhere. Aside from the slightly disappointing breakfast, everything else was really good. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in Shantou.

The dining area is spacious and comfortable, setting you up for an energetic day. Overall, the stay was perfect! Plus, the location is super close to Longyan South Road Food Street, which is incredibly convenient! Highly recommend!

Guest UserI enjoy reading to pass the time on vacation, and the quiet corner on the terrace is perfect for it. With a complimentary coffee in hand, I can look up and admire the ocean view, the fishing boats going to and from the pier, the relaxed daily life of the town, and the windmills swaying in the breeze. The sunset creates such a gentle atmosphere. The desk in the room is spacious and quiet, and the bathtub is great for unwinding. The bedding ensures a good night's sleep. The pool and gym are good for relaxing your eyes, and the kids' club is far enough away not to disturb the quiet areas. Plus, parking is convenient if you're driving.
