I found this place by looking for a neighborhood with a bit of nightlife and local energy, and it ended up being a great fit — especially for the price. I was expecting a more traditional hostel setup, but it’s actually a hybrid between a capsule hotel and a hostel. My room had six capsule-style beds, each with a clean, modern design and a surprisingly cozy feel. The lighting inside the pods was especially well done — soft, warm, and diffused through wood finishes instead of harsh LED lighting. As someone who works visually, I really appreciated that detail. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful. There was a bit of a language barrier, but between their effort and translation apps, communication was easy. They got me checked in smoothly, offered small touches like cookies at the front desk, and provided essentials like slippers, a toothbrush, and even a disposable bath towel — which I hadn’t seen before. The building itself is quite new, so there’s that “new construction” smell in some areas, and like many places in Shanghai, there’s a bit of cigarette smell in common areas and bathrooms. That said, my room itself was clean and didn’t have any smoke smell. The mattress was very comfortable — I actually scored a 99 sleep score during my stay. I got lucky with a quiet roommate, but overall the setup felt private, secure, and well-designed for rest. The bathrooms were mostly clean and new, though there were some early issues with drainage in the showers. Nothing major, but worth noting. One of the highlights for me was the common area — a bright, warm space with large windows where you can eat, work, or just relax. It’s open 24/7 and stocked with free tea, coffee, and even a really cool water dispenser where you can choose exact temperature and volume. Small detail, but very useful. The staff continued to impress throughout my stay — helping me with lockers, local apps like Alipay and WeChat, and even being flexible when I accidentally missed booking an extra night. They were also kind enough to hold my luggage until midnight on my last day. As for the location — this really depends on your travel style. I didn’t see many other foreigners staying there, and it didn’t have a typical “hostel social” vibe. But for me, that was a plus. It felt very local, with tons of restaurants, cafes, bike access, and easy transit nearby. I was able to explore the city more like a resident than a tourist, which I always prefer. For around $15 a night, this place offers incredible value. If you’re looking for something polished, social, or upscale, this might not be your spot. But if you want a clean, modern, local experience at a great price — it’s hard to beat.

This was my first ever hostel experience and it was just what i needed- friendly staff and guests. Comfy beds, clean, easy access… I highly recommend it!!

I stayed from September 12 to September 19 as a solo female traveler. The place felt so safe and very convenient because the Yu Yuan Garden station exit 6 is just behind the building. The staff is very friendly and the bathroom gets cleaned 3 times a day. In the morning, noon and evening. The room get clean once or twice a day even if I stayed in dormitory room I had a pleasant stay due to how clean it is. Everything that I needed as a woman especially hair dryer and washing machine is available. You can change your bedsheet anytime they have a clean bedsheet available in the reception area just ask and they'll give new sheets. I had an awesome stay and thank you so much for making my stay pleasant . Please keep up the good work

The hostel facilities are quite complete. The hallways and common areas are clean and tidy, and the rooms are also clean and tidy. Check-in was very convenient, and the staff had a good service attitude.

The hotel appears to have a relatively low rating on the Ctrip app (around 4.4/10) and also does not have many reviews. I assume these ratings may be from before the recent renovation. The hotel seems to have been renovated recently, and now it is very nice and very clean. For this location, it is probably one of the best options you can get at this price. When I arrived, there was a staff member at the reception who was very helpful. At first she may seem a bit rough in her manner, but she is actually a very kind and helpful person. The room itself is very clean. If you choose the cheapest option, the room does not have a window. However, if you choose the option one level above, you can get a room with a window. Considering the location, the price is very reasonable and it is difficult to find a room this affordable in this area. The room was very clean with no dust at all. The hotel provides all the basic amenities such as slippers, Wi-Fi, a dental kit, shower gel, and towels (one large towel and two hand towels). The bathroom is clean. It is slightly small, but actually a bit larger than another room I stayed in nearby a few days ago. They also provide a hairdryer, and the bed and blanket are very comfortable. The lighting in the room is also good. Overall, for this price, you get a clean room with Wi-Fi and all the essentials, which is really all you need. I stayed in a room without a window on the first day, and on the second day I moved to a slightly more expensive room with a window. Overall, if you are coming here for a short stay, this hotel is a very good option. The location is a big plus – it's very close to People's Square, making it super convenient to get around Shanghai's attractions by subway. For a city center location, the price-performance ratio was a pleasant surprise. I stayed in a female dorm with six beds. Each bunk had its own curtain, which provided excellent privacy, and there were lockable lockers for valuables. The bedding was changed promptly, and the air conditioning worked well. The public bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, with plenty of sinks. The female shower area was decorated very cutely, and even during peak hours, I didn't have to wait long. The resident cat was very gentle, and petting it during my downtime at the hotel was incredibly therapeutic. There's a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage is very convenient, and there's also a washing machine available.

Having stayed at a few hostels, this one is pretty good. The location is decent; it's a bit of a walk from the subway station, but ordering food delivery and getting around is quite convenient. The overall space is large and well-equipped, divided into a common area, sleeping quarters, and a drying area. The shared bathrooms have showers and hairdryers, which is a great plus. The bunk beds offer a decent amount of space and come with a small pull-out table. The only downside was the mosquitoes, but the front desk provided insect repellent, and there was an electric mosquito repellent in the room. Many people eat their takeaways in the main common area, so be mindful of cleanliness if you're relaxing there. Unfortunately, I somehow lost my room key at the end and had to pay a 50 yuan deposit.

Booked this hotel last minute, cause my favorite hotel is closing down business this month and i wanted something nearer cause I’m well versed with the surrounding areas, 1: the first red flag is the reception, mail and deliveries are all piled up and falling off shelves, it’s so dirty and humid, it looks like a hoarder’s poach, they’re no waiting chairs, so you’ll stand while they process the guests that came before you until it’s your turn !! The receptionists are very nice and helpful . 2; no room housekeeping ( you’ll have to ask for someone to come take the rubbish and give you towels or change your bedding. 3: THE FILTH!!! The filth is on level 1000/100 the grime made it hard for me to shower with my eyes open, I’m not sure if the place has a manager and if they care about the the wellbeing of the clients , because from what i saw, the cleaners don’t even bother, the floor had food stains from i think when they just opened, the sink🤮 the bathroom ( that one corner gave me the hibbigibeis) the toilet seat was broken , everything in the bathroom was broken and dirty , then my charger fell in the space which is between the bathroom glass and the bed, got down to retrieve it and i decided it was best to just a get a new charger instead. The place if cleaned and cared for would be an amazing hotel apartment, it has great amenities , a washing machine a fridge and a drying rack if you upgrade to a bigger room, a kitchenette that would be great if you are interested in cooking and staying longer and it’ has an Aldi downstairs, a gym and lots of other great places surrounding it . I really hope the owners would read this and take it into consideration and carry out serious supervision or else their property will lose value, The hygiene of the hotel does not only ensure the health and wellness of the visitors who sleep in those walls but also keeps the property value up. Dirt And filth only brings it down and puts the health of others at risk . I really hope they change standards.

Good hostel! Stayed here for almost a week and liked it - good location, beds are comfortable. Highly recommend! 

The interior facilities are quite complete, with a cooking area, range hood, and washing machine. It's suitable for long-term stays. The shower drainage isn't very smooth, but the cleanliness is acceptable.
