Rabbit Card Bangkok Guide: Price, Top-Up & How to Use

Author's Profile Picture
Rabbit Card Bangkok

Planning a trip to Bangkok from Singapore? The Rabbit Card can make travelling around the city easier especially if you plan to take the BTS Skytrain several times a day.

Instead of buying a separate ticket for every journey, you can tap your card at supported station gates and keep moving.

However, the Rabbit Card does not work on every Bangkok train line, so it helps to know where it is accepted before you buy one.

This guide covers Rabbit Card prices, transport coverage, top-up options, and practical tips for Singapore travellers.

What Is the Rabbit Card Bangkok?

Rabbit Card Bangkok

The Rabbit Card is a rechargeable contactless smart card used to pay for public transport and selected retail purchases in Bangkok. Introduced in May 2012, it uses contactless smart-card technology and is particularly useful for travellers who expect to use the BTS Skytrain frequently.

You load money onto the card in advance, then tap it at the card reader when entering and exiting supported train stations. Your fare is deducted from the stored balance automatically. You can also use the card at participating shops and service providers that display the Rabbit payment symbol.

For Singaporeans, the main advantage is convenience. You do not need to queue for a separate BTS ticket every time you travel between popular areas such as Siam, Asok, Phrom Phong and Sala Daeng.

Keep in mind that Bangkok has several independent rail networks. The Rabbit Card is accepted on selected lines, but you will need another payment method for services such as the MRT Blue and Purple lines.

Rabbit Card vs Single-Journey Tickets: Which Is Better for Tourists?

Whether you need a Rabbit Card depends on how often you plan to use the BTS and how much convenience matters to you.

Factor

Rabbit Card

Single-journey tickets

Convenience

Tap in and out on supported lines

Purchase a new ticket for each journey

Initial cost

Pay for the card and its included stored value

Pay only for each journey

Best for

Travellers making repeated journeys on supported lines

Travellers making only a few train trips

Flexibility

Reusable on future trips, subject to validity

Buy tickets only when needed

Network coverage

Limited to participating transport services

Buy the appropriate ticket for each network

Remaining balance

Unused value may be refundable under the applicable conditions

No stored balance to manage

Which should you choose? If you are visiting Bangkok for three to five days and expect to use the BTS several times daily, the Rabbit Card can save time at ticket counters. If you plan to spend most of your trip exploring one neighbourhood, taking taxis or using the MRT Blue Line, buying individual tickets may be more practical.

Remember to include the card's issuance fee when comparing costs. A Rabbit Card is not automatically cheaper than single-journey tickets, and any savings depend on your actual itinerary.

Which Transport Lines Accept the Rabbit Card?

Rabbit Card Bangkok

The Rabbit Card can be used on the following transport services, subject to the relevant operator's fare and ticketing rules.

BTS Sukhumvit Line (Green Line)

Runs through areas including Siam, Asok and Phrom Phong

Shopping, hotels and restaurants

BTS Silom Line (Green Line)

Serves areas including Sala Daeng, Chong Nonsi and the Silom area

Business districts and nightlife

BTS Gold Line

Connects Krung Thon Buri with Charoen Nakhon and ICONSIAM

MRT Pink Line

BRT Bus Rapid Transit

Chao Phraya Express Boat services

📌Important: Do not assume the Rabbit Card is valid on every boat departure or all MRT lines. The MRT Blue and Purple lines use a separate fare system, so prepare a different payment method for those journeys. Check the relevant operator's latest ticketing information before travelling.

Types of Rabbit Card Available in Bangkok

There are several Rabbit Card variants, including standard cards for different passenger categories, special-edition designs and cards issued with financial institutions or organisation. For most Singapore tourists, a standard adult card is the simplest option.

Standard Rabbit Card (Adult, Student & Senior)

The standard Rabbit Card comes in three main categories. Eligibility rules and discounts depend on the card type and the transport operator.

Card type

Who it is for

Key details

Adult Rabbit Card

General adult passengers

Suitable for most adult visitors from Singapore

Student Rabbit Card

Eligible full-time students aged no more than 23, subject to the operator's requirements

Proof of student status may be required; overseas students must meet the applicable eligibility conditions

Senior Rabbit Card

Eligible senior passengers under the relevant operator's rules

Discounts may apply; the card can store value but cannot be loaded with trip bundles under BTS rules

The BTS states that its student card is intended for eligible full-time students aged 23 or younger. Senior eligibility and fare benefits are also subject to the relevant operator's conditions. Do not assume that a Singapore student card or senior citizen card automatically qualifies you for a concession in Bangkok.

Special & Co-Branded Rabbit Cards

Special and limited-edition Rabbit Cards feature designs released for selected campaigns, characters or collaborations. These cards may appeal to collectors but their prices can vary, and availability depends on the release.

Co-branded Rabbit Cards combine Rabbit payment functions with services offered by a financial institution or another partner. Some may include additional payment features or promotional benefits, subject to the issuing partner's conditions.

Rabbit has also offered cards associated with LINE Pay. However, payment services and product arrangements can change, so check whether a specific co-branded card is still available and whether its digital payment features are supported before purchasing it.

For short-term visitors, a standard adult card is usually sufficient. A special design is worth considering only if you particularly want it as a souvenir.

Where to Buy a Rabbit Card in Bangkok

Rabbit Card Bangkok

The most straightforward option for Singapore travellers is to purchase a standard Rabbit Card at a participating station ticket office after arriving in Bangkok.

Buying a Rabbit Card at BTS Stations

Follow these steps to purchase your card:

  1. Visit a BTS station ticket office.
  2. Ask for a standard adult Rabbit Card.
  3. Present your passport if identification is requested or needed for registration.
  4. Pay the applicable card price.
  5. Check the included stored value and top up more money if necessary.
  6. Tap the card at the gate when travelling on a supported line.

Buying a Rabbit Card at Bangkok Airports

Bangkok's two main airports are Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). However, airport arrival does not guarantee that you can purchase a Rabbit Card at the terminal.

The standard sales channels listed by Rabbit include participating BTS, Pink Line and Yellow Line ticket offices. I could not verify a current official airport counter or universal airport collection service for standard Rabbit Cards.

If you want to buy one as soon as possible, check the official Rabbit website for the latest sales locations or purchase it at a participating station after reaching the city. If you pre-order a special-edition card online, confirm the collection location and redemption conditions before paying.

Pullman Bangkok Hotel G remains one of my absolute go-to spots whenever I visit the city. Set right in the heart of Silom, the location is unbeatable—close to vibrant dining, nightlife, shopping, and convenient transit links to anywhere in Bangkok. The rooms here stand out for their size and comfort. They are notably spacious, well-designed, and leave plenty of breathing room to unpack and relax without feeling cramped. The beds are plush, everything feels thoughtfully arranged, and the high-floor skyline views over Bangkok are simply spectacular, day or night. For amenities, the fitness center is bright, well-equipped, and a genuine pleasure to work out in. The swimming pool area is decent and clean, though it sits in the shade for much of the day and runs on the smaller side, making it less of a centerpiece if you are looking to sunbathe all afternoon. Overall, between the prime Silom location, generous room layouts, and top-tier city panoramas, it delivers an effortless, stylish stay. I look forward to returning every time I pass through Bangkok.

This is a repeated stayed and I stayed for 8 nights. The room price is good value that why I chose here. Staffs are polite n helpful. Room is spacious and clean. Car parking service is available if you drive. The hotel provide shuttle service from 8am to 8pm at every 30 minutes to bts station or you can walk 7 minutes to station if your miss it. Nearby has a famous mango sticky rice shop you should try it at sukhumvit soi 53. There is another one called Ning’s Mango stand @Food Street Soi 38 which is opp the famous mango shop. Both equally good so try both. Highly recommended for this hotel and I will definitely come back.

Pros: 1. There's a washing machine (wash and dry combo), and they thoughtfully provided laundry detergent, so I didn't need to buy any. 2. The master bedroom has a large window with a great view, and there's also a bathtub for soaking, complete with bath salts. 3. I stayed on the 31st floor, which was very quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful, assisting with luggage from check-in to check-out. 4. The gym facilities are excellent, and you can even see the pool downstairs. Cons: 1. The TV isn't a smart TV. Although it has channels from various countries, it lacks YouTube and Netflix. Screen casting only works for certain apps (like YouTube). 2. There are too few power outlets in the room, not nearly enough for charging. Most importantly, there are no outlets in the bathroom, so I had to blow-dry my hair in the living room. 3. The master bedroom has a toilet, but it's tiny. The door barely opens without hitting the toilet. 4. The second bedroom doesn't have a toilet; you have to use the one in the living room.

Riverside Bangkok|2.99km from downtown
The room type I booked was advertised as a river view room, but I'd say it's more of a partial river view. The room is located at the bottom of a recess, with other rooms extending out on both sides, partially obstructing the view. However, the room gets great sunlight and is very spacious with excellent natural light. The bed is large and comfortable, and it's incredibly quiet at night – absolutely no noise. The cleaning was also quite good, and the service staff were all very pleasant. The front desk staff speak Chinese, which made communication very easy. The bathroom is a bit narrow, especially the shower stall, which I estimate to be only about 60cm wide. Even for a woman, you'll find your elbows hitting the sides. It's barely adequate but not comfortable. The disposable slippers felt like they were made of plastic; they weren't breathable, were very thin, and had slippery soles. It's good that they provide disposable toothpaste and toothbrushes, but you need to bring your own comb. Check-in was stated as 3 PM, and we arrived at 2:30 PM. We couldn't even check in half an hour early and had to wait, which is a significant drawback compared to hotels in China. Also, I don't recommend booking breakfast; the variety is very limited, and the ingredients are all budget-friendly. It's definitely not as good as other reviews claim, and the taste wasn't suitable for us as Chinese food eaters. If I come back, I'd consider staying here again but definitely wouldn't book breakfast. Check-out is at 11 AM, but the hotel's boat to the SkyTrain station also leaves at 11 AM. If you miss it, you have to wait until 1 PM. So, it's best to check out half an hour early, otherwise, you'll have to take a taxi to the SkyTrain station yourself.

This hotel is conveniently located near Phaya Thai BTS station, making it easy to get to from the airport and to travel around the city. While the hotel facilities are a bit old, they are still in good condition, and the service is excellent. The price was very reasonable during the National Day holiday. It's also close to Factory Coffee, which is great for a quick visit.

The location is about a five-minute walk from Chit Lom station, and it's quite quiet at night. The decor is very retro and stylish. The rooftop bar isn't large, but it's pleasant to have a drink and enjoy the breeze. The only downside was that one of my phones couldn't access the Wi-Fi login page for some reason, so I had to rely on my data the whole time. Also, because it's so retro, the lighting is quite dim. If I were traveling alone, I probably wouldn't choose to stay here.

Stayed at the 3 room apartment. Very clean. Bed comfy. Amazon cafe cafe 7-11 below. Take a boat to Pratunam for 15bath, less than 10min. Generally all good but 1. It takes forever to reach our room at Tower D( there is 4 tower with access only at Tower A) 2. I’m 6ft, both bathroom with bathtub and the bathtub is slightly small, shower is cramped 3. By 6pm the streets are dead, only 7-11 available 4. Balcony but can’t open 5. Main room AC wasn’t cold, just didn’t really bother to make a fuzz

I stayed for 3 nights. The location is good, but it's a bit of a walk from the nearest BTS station, which was a little tough with a large suitcase. However, it's easy to get around by calling a motorcycle taxi via Grab. Although it's one of the lower-tier Hilton brands, the breakfast exceeded my expectations with a great variety and delicious food.

Although the location is about a 5-10 minute walk from the subway station, which is an acceptable distance, the hotel maintains the group's standard. The downsides are that check-out takes a bit longer, mainly due to understaffing and having to wait for them to inspect the room. Also, the deposit can only be paid in cash. These two areas need improvement. Everything else is pretty good, so I recommend setting aside extra time for check-out to avoid delaying your subsequent plans!

The room was spacious enough, with plenty of room even with a large suitcase open. I was very satisfied with the service, which included a large refrigerator, daily water replenishment, and even free Coke and instant noodles. The bathroom also had a bidet, and the hot water flow and pressure were strong and comfortable. Regarding the location, there's a shopping center nearby and Big C is very close, so there's no problem with dining or shopping for groceries. On the other hand, I was bothered by a slight musty smell, perhaps due to the age of the building, and the noise from cars, as it faces a main road, was quite loud. If you can overlook the slight age and noise, I think this hotel offers excellent value for money in terms of convenience and service.

I found the location to be incredibly convenient, very close to the subway station. The security system was also quite good; you needed to tap your card to go up and down. There's a 7-Eleven right across the street, and the hotel staff were very friendly. If you're just visiting and plan to spend most of your time out and about, not needing to enjoy special hotel facilities, I think this is an excellent choice. While it doesn't have a gym or a swimming pool, it's definitely great value for money.

## Accommodation Experience Review | A Quality Stay You'll Love After Just One Night My stay this time truly exceeded expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I could feel the hotel's attention to detail. The overall decor is minimalist and modern, complemented by warm lighting and a pleasant fragrance, instantly making me feel relaxed and as if all the fatigue from my journey had vanished. The room was more spacious than I imagined, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The bed had just the right firmness, and the pillows offered excellent support; I fell asleep almost instantly. The room was well-equipped, featuring high-speed Wi-Fi and an LCD TV, along with thoughtful touches like tea bags, coffee, and bottled water, allowing guests to enjoy leisure time whenever they wished. The most delightful surprise was the view outside the window, which offered different charms both day and night, making me linger for a few extra minutes to admire it. The bathroom was equally satisfying. The dry and wet separation design made it more convenient to use, and the hot water supply was stable with ample pressure, making it incredibly comfortable to wash away the day's tiredness. The quality of the amenities was also good, exuding a subtle fragrance that enhanced the overall quality of the stay. Beyond the excellent facilities, the service quality deserves even greater praise. The front desk staff were friendly and enthusiastic, making the check-in and check-out processes fast and smooth. They were patient and helpful whenever I had questions or issues. From arrival to departure, I felt like a valued guest, which significantly enhanced the entire trip. The location is another major advantage of this accommodation. It's close to popular attractions, business districts, and transportation hubs, making it very convenient for both sightseeing and business trips. There's a rich selection of nearby restaurants, local eateries, and convenience stores, so finding suitable dining options is easy, even if you need a quick bite. Breakfast is an undeniable highlight. The variety of dishes is diverse, ranging from Chinese congee and Western pastries to fresh fruits and beverages – everything you could wish for. The ingredients were fresh, and items were replenished quickly. Enjoying breakfast slowly in the comfortable dining environment set a beautiful tone for the day's itinerary. Overall, this is an accommodation option that combines comfort, convenience, and high-quality service. Whether for family trips, couples' getaways, friend gatherings, or business needs, you're guaranteed an excellent stay. Besides enjoying the scenery, choosing good accommodation is equally important, and this experience certainly left a deep impression. If you're planning a trip soon, I wholeheartedly recommend adding this accommodation to your must-stay list. It's not just a place to rest; it's a place where you can relax, recharge, and enjoy life. Upon leaving, I already started looking forward to my next stay, and I believe that once you experience it yourself, you'll love it just as much as I do. ⭐Accommodation Rating: - Room Comfort: ★★★★★ - Cleanliness Quality: ★★★★★ - Service Attitude: ★★★★★ - Location: ★★★★★ - Value for Money: ★★★★★ Overall Review: A high-quality stay worth revisiting, recommended for all travelers seeking an ideal accommodation. 🏨✨

Whenever I visit Bangkok, I always stay at SO BANGKOK. The expansive green views of Lumpini Park make me feel like I'm at a resort, even though I'm in the middle of the city, allowing for a deeply relaxing stay. Especially during breakfast, enjoying a cup of coffee while leisurely gazing at Lumpini Park is incredibly healing in itself. Coming here often brings a great sense of comfort from its familiarity, and the thoughtful care from the staff who remember and welcome me each time always makes for a pleasant stay. Even though many new hotels are popping up in Bangkok these days, for someone like me who appreciates familiarity and knowing my preferences, this is the best hotel, and I have no desire to look for alternatives.

Since I had an early flight, I went to the front desk around 8:30 AM to drop off my luggage. They were very accommodating and told me they would prepare my room early and asked me to come back at 10 AM. Thank you very much! All the staff members were great; they greeted me every time we crossed paths. The room also had a washing machine, and there was even a single-use detergent packet, which was very helpful. The hotel is close to the station, about a 10-minute walk, but there are other hotels like Grand Hyatt and Waldorf around, so there's no shortcut, which made it feel a bit far for me 🥲. It's about a 15-minute walk from Big C and CentralWorld. It's also conveniently located for two BTS lines, so I recommend it!

I had stayed in a standard king room in the main building before and thought the hotel was decent, so I booked a deluxe king room again, but it was a huge disappointment. First, they asked if we minded a room at either end of the hall. We said to avoid it if possible. They then assigned us a king room with no bathtub, which was also smaller and on a different floor than what I had booked. We were really unhappy, so we asked to switch to the room type we had reserved. This time, they gave us a twin room, directly facing the elevator. This was completely different from what I had booked. Finally, they gave us a king room that matched the location and floor, and it even had a bathtub. However, being moved twice and all the hassle until past 1 AM left us utterly exhausted. I will not choose this hotel again.

This was my second stay here, this time on the 45th floor. The room was still good, but my previous stay was in a higher-tier room with a floor-to-ceiling window and a higher floor, which was naturally more comfortable. I'd recommend booking as early as possible to get a better room type for roughly the same price. The air conditioning temperature couldn't be adjusted, and it was a bit too cold at night, so if you're sensitive to cold, bring extra long-sleeved clothing. The great thing about staying here is the opportunity to enjoy the changing light throughout the day and night, and to go up to the free 360-degree rotating observation deck to overlook the entire Bangkok – it's fantastic for photos. However, if you want to take pictures with people in them, using the restaurant's balcony during breakfast (which is paid) provides better photo opportunities. You can also move between different balconies to get a 360-degree view of Bangkok. While the breakfast itself is just average, the unparalleled view is, in my opinion, well worth it! I usually arrange this as my last hotel stop before returning home because the Pratunam area is convenient for buying souvenirs, and I feel secure leaving my luggage here. Taking the A3 bus to Don Mueang Airport is also convenient and quick. However, be aware that this time when I waited for the A3 at the bus stop at the alley entrance, I was misled by the ”A3, No Service” message on the bus stop sign, thinking it meant the service was suspended. In fact, it runs approximately once an hour, so it likely meant the electronic display couldn't read the schedule information. Checking bus times on Google Maps is more reliable. If you're going to Suvarnabhumi Airport, the Airport Rail Link City Line is equally convenient. Regarding souvenirs or personal items, if you need pain relief cream, I found that 'Tai Ru Yi' inside The Market Bangkok was much cheaper than Big C next door (Counterpain Hot 120g, 135 baht; Cool 120g, 144 baht). Bio Treatment hair mask sachets were 8 baht, and the red label 3-in-1 milk tea packs were 45 baht for 100g (180 baht for 500g, but this 500g pack wasn't the cheapest – I saw the cheapest at the red label milk tea branch in the basement of Robinson Department Store near BTS S6 station, 165 baht for 500g (50 baht for 100g)).

Location is close to subway, but right in the middle of the new subway construction so getting a taxi to and from the hotel is tough and end up sitting in worse than usual traffic due to construction. Biggest complaint is the room. Too small for Two adults, feels cramped and no space for your things after 2 days of traveling. Toilet room is separate from the sink so need to walk across whole room to access sink which is just bad design. Room looks like photos but there was not good architectural design or thought done into this room, just throw together to look nice but not functional. Bathtub was a pain to get in and out of for someone with limited mobility. Too many lights with no labels on them to know which one turns off what. We had a pleasant stay overall, with a very convenient location and a warm welcome from the friendly concierge team. The hotel is within easy reach of shopping malls and a wide variety of dining options. We also appreciated that the hotel took note of our special occasion and kindly extended their well wishes. However, during our stay, the hotel was undergoing renovation. The renovation work was quite noticeable, and we could clearly hear the construction noise during the afternoon. We could also see some of the renovation work around the guest room floors. In addition, some of the room facilities and furnishings felt slightly dated. One area that could be improved is the training for new front desk staff. During our first check-in, despite providing our identification, there was an issue with our reservation information being displayed incorrectly. This was something we had never encountered at other hotels, regardless of whether we booked directly through the hotel or via a third-party platform. Unfortunately, there was no clear explanation or apology regarding the issue, and it felt as though the matter was simply brushed aside. The second check-in experience was much smoother, so we hope the hotel can provide additional training and guidance to new front desk staff to ensure a more consistent and professional guest experience. Overall, the hotel has a great location and friendly service, but there are still some areas that could be improved, particularly regarding renovation management and front desk service.

Stayed 2x weeks, it’s Located at 7-10 mins walks to Pom Phrong BTS, which is a big far in case of rainy days or at afternoon which could be scorching hot. But hotel provide half hourly shuttle which complimented this inconveniences. The only problem is limited seat for shuttle🫠, only single shuttle. If you missed have to wait another 30mins or walk back or take Grab😔. There is onsen inside the hotel which make this hotel very very special to me. I truly enjoy and like the onsen features. Another stood out thing is the social Night event every Monday-Wed evening, for an hour free flow of drinks and snacks, something impressed me, unique for this hotel. Though I did not patron every single day. I ate out every night regardless of this, it is a nice place to chill and socialise there. In-room washer make the long stay very pleasant and convenient, so as plenty of drinking water provided. There is no scenery view from hotel due to its location. The breakfast is average , where in some days below average. I truly enjoyed almost daily their swimming pool and onsen, just the operating hours only start at 7am which is a bit late. If could start at 6am instead would be perfect, else it will be a bit rush after use , prior go to work at 8am. The services was excellent. I would rate it 4 star instead , gates by its location and breakfast spread/ food. Aside from this they deserve 4.5star. Will stay again in future if visit BKK again. Excellent location and impeccable service from the entire team. The room was spacious, and being a corner unit, it offered a fantastic view of the city. The rooftop pool also boasts a fantastic view (despite being small and having limited sun loungers available). Areas for improvement: We had an issue in the bathroom that required more than one call to the reception to be resolved, and the breakfast room is a bit small for the hotel's capacity, leading to some waiting times (though the quality was good). Fantastic and always my top choice! I've stayed here several times, and Amari is always my go-to hotel whenever I visit Thailand. It's so comfortable. I especially love the hotel lobby. The only downside is that there's construction next door, which can be a bit noisy at night.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Everything about my stay from August 10-12 was excellent. The hotel has a huge mirror that's perfect for Instagram photos. While the bathtub was slightly dirty, all other aspects were outstanding. The air conditioning was a definite highlight - very cold and a welcome relief in this hot weather country. Overall, a great experience!

The room is spacious, a one-bedroom apartment with a living room and a balcony. The facilities are a bit old, but it's still good overall. There's a self-service laundry room on the 8th floor, costing 60 baht per load. I emailed the hotel in advance to request a room with two single beds, and they were able to accommodate my request. Breakfast was included throughout my stay, which was very convenient. There's a 7-Eleven at the entrance of the hotel alley, and it's only a few minutes' walk to the BTS, making it convenient to get anywhere. There's also a massage shop called Natural Touch at the alley entrance that offers good value for money.

The hotel is quite close to the BTS Skytrain, just one stop away from the Siam shopping district. I chose this place because I was going to a show at Paragon. You can see the MBK big screen directly from the hotel window, which is great for fans who want to check in with the screen from their room. However, the hotel is a bit old, and the bed creaks. The bathroom is very spacious. It seems there aren't many Chinese guests, but quite a few Middle Eastern travelers. Breakfast was good too, quite a decent spread.

The hotel's location is in a prime area of Bangkok, making it very convenient to get around by BTS. There are also department stores and convenience stores nearby. The room itself is quite spacious, with a separate wet and dry area and a bathtub for soaking. The mini-fridge was stocked with drinks, and we were also provided with snacks.

The hotel facilities are a bit old but well-maintained, and the breakfast spread is quite good. However, it's located near bars, so it can get noisy at night. The cleanliness was excellent, very neat and tidy.

I had a clean and spacious room with a great view overlooking Terminal 21 Mall and the surrounding area. The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of both BTS Skytrain Asoke and MRT Sukhumvit, making it very convenient to get around Bangkok. Plenty of shops, restaurants, cafés, and massage places are nearby in all directions. Walking towards Sukhumvit Road, there is a 7-Eleven near Dough Bros Pizza. If you leave the hotel and turn right along Asok Montri Road (Sukhumvit 21), you will find even more shops, restaurants and local amenities, including another 7-Eleven near the pedestrian crossing. Exchange Tower, a small mall, is also close to Terminal 21 on Sukhumvit Road. The hotel staff were helpful, friendly and professional throughout my stay. The hotel facilities were also very good, including a well-equipped gym. Overall, it was a comfortable, convenient hotel in an excellent central Bangkok location.

Came here for our anniversary trip, and at this price, it was truly a steal. The service is five-star, but the facilities are four-star at best. First, the pros: 1) Excellent service. They upgraded our room knowing it was our anniversary and even sent us dessert. 2) Housekeeping was very prompt, even cleaning twice. The first time was for general tidiness, and the second was for detailed touches (like laying out absorbent mats, etc.). My cosmetics were also neatly organized. 3) The room was very spacious, with comfortable bedding and a sofa. 4) They provided aromatherapy candles and other amenities, and someone even knocked on our door every evening to deliver facial mist. 5) High floor with great views. Now, the cons: 1) Currently undergoing extensive renovation, so the public areas are very small. The hotel lobby entrance requires going through a narrow, cardboard-partitioned corridor, which looks undignified. 2) Due to the renovation, check-in was on the 19th floor, and the waiting time was extremely long. It was the longest I've ever waited to check in. Every time we returned to our room, we had to go to the 19th floor to switch elevators to the guest room area. 3) A bit far from the subway station. Although there's a shuttle service, it's hourly and requires advance booking, so we didn't end up using it. 4) The in-room facilities are indeed old. The showerhead was difficult to use, with low water pressure and couldn't be fixed in place. 5) The TV placement was puzzling, but we didn't watch it anyway. I [redacted] but the hotel didn't offer any other plain porridge options... just a verbal mention.

Facilities: Fully equipped with all kinds of amenities. There is a 7-Eleven right next door and a swimming pool that is extremely clean and beautiful. Cleanliness: The rooms are spotless, and the beds, pillows, and duvets are dry and fresh. The bathroom is clean with no unpleasant odors. We stayed for 3 nights, and the room was cleaned daily with fresh, clean bedsheets and duvet covers replaced. Service: The service attitude is wonderful. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff are warm, welcoming, and polite. Highly recommended for friends traveling to Thailand.

The hotel is not far from Nana station, about an 8-minute walk. Taxis can drop you right at the entrance. Downstairs is a bustling bar street, which gets very lively and congested after 11 PM. There are 7-Eleven convenience stores at both ends of the street and in the middle. I stayed in a room facing the back of the hotel, and it was very quiet! The front desk staff were very friendly. The only downside was that the grout in the shower stall had black mold, likely due to using the wrong material.

Everything was great – convenient location, easy check-in, and it was simple to get a taxi. The only downside was the road construction outside, which caused some traffic. Otherwise, it was all very good and quite worth it.

Everything was great, and the environment was good. Although it's a bit tucked away in an alley, there's a shuttle bus to the alley entrance, which is quite convenient! There's only one thing that wasn't so good: the soundproofing is really terrible. I'm not someone who's overly sensitive to noise, but the sound insulation is genuinely very poor! On the first night, I could hear the people in the next room chatting very loudly, and they continued until past 5 AM, making it impossible to sleep, so I left early! When I returned to the room on the second day, there were two Korean guys next door, making a lot of noise all night, constantly ”****” (explicit word removed), again until 5 or 6 AM. It was only on the last night that it finally quieted down. Besides the soundproofing, everything else was basically good, and the hotel staff were very friendly! If they could improve the sound insulation, it would truly be a great hotel! I would definitely be willing to stay again!

My stay at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Bangkok was an extremely satisfying experience overall. I highly recommend the river-view rooms and the riverside scenery; you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Chao Phraya River from both your room and the public areas. The hotel has two swimming pools where you can swim while enjoying the river views. The overall atmosphere is very relaxing, making it perfect for spending a day in, simply enjoying the hotel's facilities. Dining options are also abundant, with delicious Thai, Italian, and Western cuisine available. You don't need to go out into the city to enjoy various culinary delights. Additionally, I highly recommend the Relax massage on the third floor of the hotel – it's incredibly comfortable after a day of exploring Bangkok's attractions. The surrounding area of the hotel is also very convenient. There are two 7-Eleven stores just a 2-minute walk away, along with many local eateries, markets, and massage parlors nearby, making it easy to venture out in the evening. Most importantly, for just over 4,000 baht a night, you get a hotel with full river views, pools, dining, and massage services. The overall value for money (CP value) is excellent. I highly recommend this accommodation for anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing, and scenic stay in Bangkok.

Though the furniture is dated, the bed is still very comfortable. The area and the rooms are cleaned well. I had a few requests during the stay, and the staff helped promptly and nicely. Breakfast is better than expected, and even though I came almost at the end of the breakfast time, my request for extra eggs and fruit was fulfilled. I felt relaxed during the stay. There were no bugs and no insects. A big 7/11 is literally next door, and yellow metro 5 minutes away on foot

How Much Does a Rabbit Card Cost in Bangkok?

The cost of using a Rabbit Card has two main parts: the initial card purchase and the transport fares you pay as you travel.

Cost item

What to budget for

Standard adult card

THB 200 (S$7.60) at the published standard-card price

Issuance fee

Included in the card purchase price; confirm the current breakdown at the counter

Initial stored value

Included in the standard-card purchase price

Additional top-up

Minimum top-up is generally THB 100 (S$3.80), subject to the relevant operator's rules

Maximum stored value

Up to THB 4,000 (S$152.30) under the published standard-card rules

BTS fares

Vary by route, distance and applicable fare rules

Refund

Depends on card type, remaining balance and the refund procedure

For transport fares, check the current fare table for your specific journey. A short BTS trip and a longer cross-city trip will not necessarily cost the same. If you are planning your holiday budget in Singapore dollars, convert your expected baht spending using the current exchange rate offered by your bank or payment provider.

💌Budgeting tip: Start with the included balance, then top up only when needed. This helps you avoid leaving too much money unused at the end of your holiday.

How to Top Up Your Rabbit Card in Bangkok

Rabbit Card Bangkok

You can add stored value through participating station ticket offices, eligible top-up machines, the My Rabbit app and authorised service providers. The methods available may vary according to your card and account setup.

Topping Up at BTS Ticket Offices and Vending Machines

For most Singapore visitors, topping up at a physical ticket office is the simplest method.

  1. Bring your Rabbit Card to a participating station ticket office.
  2. Tell the staff how much stored value you want to add.
  3. Pay using the accepted payment method.
  4. Confirm that the new balance has been added before leaving.

Some participating machines and authorised service providers also support top-ups. Check the instructions on the machine because not every ticket machine necessarily offers the same functions.

Topping Up via the My Rabbit App

My Rabbit is the official app for checking for card balances, reviewing recent transactions and accessing supported top-up functions.

The general process is:

  1. Download the official My Rabbit app from a supported app store.
  2. Register or sign in using the details required by the app.
  3. Follow the instructions to link or register your Rabbit Card.
  4. Select the relevant card or wallet and choose the top-up function.
  5. Follow the available payment and confirmation steps.
  6. Check your balance or transaction history to confirm that the top-up has been completed.
💥Before relying on app top-ups: Check whether your phone, account and payment method meet the app's current requirements. Do not assume that every Singapore-issued bank card or mobile banking account will be accepted.

Topping Up via LINE Pay

Rabbit has supported arrangements involving LINE Pay, but the available features and registration requirements may change over time. Some older guides describe linking a Rabbit Card to LINE Pay and completing an in-person activation step.

Do not rely on those older instructions without checking the current official service information. Confirm whether the relevant LINE Pay and Rabbit-linked payment functions remain available to visitors, whether a Thai account is required and where activation can be completed.

If you only need a card for a short Bangkok holiday, topping up at a station is generally the more straightforward choice.

💡 Pro Tip: Check out Double Your Rewards to earn flight miles and Trip Coins on eligible bookings, making every trip more rewarding.

Rabbit Card Validity and Expiry: What Singapore Travellers Need to Know

Rabbit Cards have a stated validity period of seven years from the date of issuance. Stored value has a separate validity period, generally two years from the last transaction under published rules.

Here is what the two periods mean:

Validity type

What it means

Card validity

The card is generally valid for seven years from issuance

Stored-value validity

The stored balance is generally valid for two years from the last transaction

Expired card

You may no longer be able to top up the card or add trips

Unused balance

Remaining value may still be usable or refundable under the applicable conditions, depending on how long the card has been inactive

If you are visiting Bangkok for a few days, expiry is unlikely to affect your trip. However, if you return to Thailand regularly, check the expiry date and remaining balance before using an old card.

You can check the applicable validity details through Rabbit's official website or supported service channels.

How to Get a Refund on Your Rabbit Card

If you have money left on your Rabbit Card at the end of your trip, you may be able to request a refund through an eligible BTS ticket office or authorised service centre. The procedure depends on the type of card and the amount to be returned.

To prepare for a refund:

  1. Keep your physical Rabbit Card in good condition.
  2. Visit a BTS ticket office or authorised service centre that handles refunds.
  3. Ask the staff to check the remaining stored value and applicable refund conditions.
  4. Present the card and any identification or details requested.
  5. Confirm whether the refund can be processed immediately or requires further processing.

The official information also lists a THB 50 fee for refunds involving special or corporate cards, and for recovering value after a registered card has been reported lost or stolen. Confirm the current fee before proceeding.

If you have only a small amount remaining, compare the refund process with spending the balance at a participating retailer. Do not assume the full purchase price of the card will be refunded, as the issuance fee and unused stored value are treated differently.

Practical Tips for Using the Rabbit Card Bangkok as a Singapore Traveller

Rabbit Card Bangkok

A little preparation can make getting around Bangkok much easier. Keep these tips in mind before your trip.

1. Plan your routes before buying a card. Check whether your hotel and planned attractions are served by the BTS, Pink Line or Yellow Line. If you expect to use the MRT Blue Line frequently, prepare a separate payment method.

2. Buy the adult card unless you qualify for a concession. Singapore student and senior identification does not automatically guarantee eligibility for a discounted Thai transport card. Confirm the operator's requirements first.

3. Start with the included stored value. You do not need to load a large amount immediately. Add more money as required after checking your remaining balance.

4. Keep some Thai baht in cash. You may need cash for top-ups, local food stalls, small shops or services that do not accept your preferred payment method.

5. Check app requirements before leaving Singapore. If you want to use My Rabbit, verify account registration and payment compatibility in advance. Keep station top-ups as a backup.

6. Carry another payment method for the MRT Blue and Purple lines. The Rabbit Card does not provide universal access to Bangkok's rail network, so avoid relying on it as your only transport payment option.

7. Check your balance before departing. If you plan to seek a refund, leave enough time to visit a participating service counter and ask about the latest conditions.

8. Keep the card for future visits if you return to Bangkok. The card can be reused within its validity period. Store it safely and check its expiry date before your next trip.

Final Thoughts

Rabbit Card is a useful option for Singapore travellers who expect to make repeated journeys on Bangkok's supported transport services. It is most convenient when your itinerary centres on the BTS network, with selected additional rail and bus services.

If your plans involve several different train systems, combine it with the appropriate tickets or payment methods rather than expecting one card to cover the entire city.
