The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around. It's close to the East Railway Station, which makes sightseeing or transferring transportation hassle-free. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the overall environment is quiet, and the staff are warm, polite, and responsive to any issues. As for the hotel's dining, you absolutely must try the handmade dim sum at the restaurant on the fourth floor. It's authentic Cantonese flavor, freshly made by hand, and tastes great. Sitting there with friends, slowly sipping tea and chatting, creates a wonderful atmosphere. The buffet at the Western restaurant on the second floor also exceeded expectations – a rich variety of dishes, fresh ingredients, and excellent taste. Everything from dining to accommodation can be conveniently arranged at the hotel. I would choose this place again whether for a business trip or a vacation. If you're visiting near Guangzhou East Railway Station and want to experience authentic Cantonese morning tea, I sincerely recommend this hotel!

Two days before my arrival, a butler contacted me via phone and WeChat, even proactively booking a table for me at the Lingxuan Pavilion buffet on my check-in day. This proactive service was incredibly thoughtful. To be honest, I was a bit apprehensive before checking in. Given its long history, I was concerned about outdated facilities and had braced myself for it. However, the reality was far beyond my expectations. The hotel's maintenance is impeccable; both the lobby and the guest rooms are spotlessly clean and tidy, with no hint of wear or age. The front desk staff was exceptionally attentive, confirming my preferred view, orientation, and floor. They also kindly warned me about ongoing subway construction nearby and helped me choose a quieter room, ultimately upgrading my room – a truly delightful surprise. Stepping into the lobby, I was immediately awestruck by its grand and magnificent space. Two colossal murals adorn the walls: one depicting the Twelve Beauties of Jinling from 'Dream of the Red Chamber' in gilded marble, and the other showcasing Lingnan folk customs. Above, a massive 'Golden Dragon Playing with Pearls' caisson ceiling, crafted from tens of thousands of gold foils, creates a powerful visual impact and serves as the hotel's most iconic Lingnan artistic symbol. The hotel also boasts a 21,000 square meter private garden, featuring dual waterfalls, a red bridge over flowing water, a koi pond, and traditional pavilions – a quintessential Lingnan garden. Walking in, the temperature felt noticeably cooler, and sitting quietly for a while was incredibly serene. The Waterfall Restaurant, nestled by the garden, offers stunning water views from its floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a perfect ambiance for an evening drink or afternoon tea. The renovated guest rooms feature a classical Lingnan Chinese style, with exquisite details. As it was Mid-Autumn Festival during my stay, the room thoughtfully included mooncakes. The hotel also offers free historical guided tours, where a guide takes you through the hotel's historical corners, recounting its stories. The guide was very friendly and even provided individual recaps for guests who arrived late – a huge plus. Lingnan artistic elements are abundant throughout the hotel, making it a joy to explore. I noticed many international guests, indicating its high global recognition. Dining had both highs and lows. Lingxuan Pavilion boasts a stunning environment and a high-class interior. The food selection is extensive, and the chef's selected à la carte dishes were of outstanding quality. My only minor disappointment was an incorrect gender on the personalized card; it was also mistaken during a previous phone call, and I was surprised it was still incorrect on the card. However, this is a small detail that doesn't detract from the overall experience. The Liwan Pavilion has a charming Xiguan-style ambiance, but the food quality was average and prices were a bit high. The hotel's lounge offers decent food and an acceptable atmosphere, but the space is a bit small with no views, and the service was quite unnoticeable, making that experience somewhat ordinary. I've previously stayed at Guangzhou's other two major long-standing hotels: White Swan Hotel and China Hotel. Compared horizontally, while the Garden Hotel's dining might be slightly less refined than the White Swan, its overall experience is superior, especially considering the price point, making it excellent value for money. Its location is also a major advantage, situated in the old city, making it very convenient for exploring local eateries, with the renowned Lai Heen restaurant right next door. If you're planning a visit to Guangzhou's old city and want to immerse yourself in Lingnan history, culture, and the legacy of a classic five-star hotel, the Garden Hotel comes highly recommended.

The location is fantastic, my top choice for business trips! Downstairs is Exit D of Yuexiu Park Station on Line 2, and if you walk west across the road, you'll reach Liuhua Station on Line 11. To the north, you have the Canton Fair complex, and to the east, Yuexiu Park. There's also a famous food street downstairs, along with plenty of coffee shops and dessert stores. You can tell the hotel is quite old, with a dedicated exhibition hall on the first floor showcasing its history. However, apart from slightly lower ceilings and a retro decor, the rooms don't feel dated at all; it seems like it was renovated just a few years ago. The breakfast selection is incredibly rich, offering both Chinese and Western options, plus a Middle Eastern section and a Japanese corner. The only downside is the poor quality of the beans for the freshly ground coffee, and the brewed coffee wasn't much better. It's hard to imagine a five-star hotel having such unpalatable coffee… The rooms only come with drip coffee and instant coffee. For a suite, I'd expect at least a capsule coffee machine. The Executive Lounge is made up of small, individual rooms, so the ambiance is quite ordinary. The white wine was good, but if you have breakfast in the lounge, there are no live cooking stations and very limited choices, so it's better to go to the second floor.

The room was spacious, and there were golf carts available for pick-up and drop-off. We had a dedicated butler providing one-on-one service. The kids' club, billiards, table tennis, gym, and laundry room were all free to use. What surprised me most was the hot spring – although there were only about 5 or 6 pools, they were great for relaxing after a swim. The pool was very clean, and the water temperature was fine in early autumn, though I imagine it would be too cold for swimming later in the fall. The environment was lovely, with lush greenery, plenty of negative ions, and a central lake. Breakfast was a buffet, and quite extensive. I would have given full marks for everything up to this point, but then someone brought a large dog into the dining area, and the staff didn't stop them. When the dog shook itself in the restaurant, I was horrified – I couldn't even bring myself to eat, feeling like the air was filled with dog hair. I suggest they create a special area for dogs, as sharing a dining space with them is truly unpleasant. I hope they improve this aspect! There are many farm-to-table restaurants nearby, and it's very close to Aranya.

Traveled with elderly family members and kids during the National Day holiday. Let's start with the positives: the hotel has a non-motorized outdoor play area with plenty of space for the kids to run around. There are enough hot spring pools, and the swimming pool is quite nice. It was a heartwarming touch that the staff proactively offered foot soaking buckets to guests not wearing swimsuits, and complimentary tea was well-stocked. It's understandable that they struggled to keep up with clean towels during peak hours. There were plenty of holiday activities for kids, but no one informed us in advance. We only found out about them at check-out, so we missed out on basically everything. The staff claimed they didn't mention it because they ”didn't see us checking in with kids”... The website stated the hotel was renovated in 2018, but the room we were actually assigned dated back to its opening in 2002... Rooms on the 4th floor are from 2002, 6th-floor rooms were renovated in 2024, and only some rooms on the 3rd and 5th floors were updated in 2018. For both days of our stay, our room had a persistent sewer smell; oddly enough, the bathroom itself was spotless and odor-free, so it might be coming from the AC duct. Hopefully, the hotel can fix this soon. Lastly, even though it was a holiday, this is marketed as a family-friendly hotel. Having guests set off extremely loud fireworks at 11:00 PM—startling the kids awake—was unacceptable. Security definitely needs to step up their patrols. I hope to try the newly renovated rooms next time; the experience would probably be much better.

My room was a luxurious suite with private bath tub (around hkd 3000 for two nights including breakfast). Hardware is definitely exceptional. However when it comes to service it is below standard: 1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all; 2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again. 3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment. I won’t come to this resort again, if the service of the hotel haven’t improved. And I won’t recommend travelers with kids who is looking for a family friendly and good service resort. P.S.: Parking spaces were spacious and free

The hotel looked better in the pictures than in real life! Honestly, the overall environment was decent, and there were several pleasant surprises during our stay, like the afternoon tea included in our package and the fruit platter specially provided at the hot spring. However, the downside was the hotel staff's somewhat aggressive upselling. They offered us a room upgrade but wanted an additional 80 yuan per hot spring tub (even though the room I booked already had a private tub!). Also, we had to pay extra for our child exceeding the limit, and this was only for a single entry (a multi-entry pass cost over 100 yuan per person, with no discount for hotel guests). What was even funnier was that each room was limited to 4 bottles of mineral water. We took 5 bottles the first night because we needed more water after using the hot spring, and then they wouldn't give us any more the next day! On checkout day, I wanted to take two bottles of water, but the front desk didn't even have any. Oh well, it's not like we're desperate for those two bottles. Overall, I'd say the hotel lacks generosity. I probably won't be booking here again!

The room was clean and tidy, and the resort grounds were huge. We chose a villa with a private pool. The hot spring area was really big, and soaking in the hot springs on the mountain was very comfortable. We also got complimentary tickets to Dafengmen Scenic Area nearby, where you can go rafting, boating, and even jungle trekking on the mountain top. There are also many great restaurants around. This stay was a fantastic experience, the kids had a blast, and we'll definitely be back. The hotel service was excellent, and the hot springs were wonderfully relaxing.

The dining environment at [Dian Cui Fang · Lingnan Handmade Dim Sum · Tea Ceremony] on the 27th floor of the hotel is excellent! The decor is beautiful and stylish, yet it retains the rich cultural heritage of a hotel with 40 years of history! I arrived at 7:30 PM and was warmly greeted by a middle-aged (actually quite young) lady in a black suit uniform, Ms. [0573 Hu Baodi]! Other restaurant staff informed me that hotel guests receive a 10% discount on dining, and on Teachers' Day, September 10th, teachers with relevant identification would also receive a discount. After dinner, I suddenly had a craving for mooncakes... I saw that mooncakes were on the menu... After inquiring with the staff, I learned that mooncakes were selling fast, in high demand, and some varieties were already out of stock... The restaurant manager, upon learning of this, quickly provided a solution – to check the inventory records in the warehouse and help me find the relevant products... It was already 9:15 PM, only 15 minutes before closing time at 9:30 PM. The restaurant manager could have easily brushed me off with excuses like ”out of stock” or ”sold out”... However, this manager did not! Instead, she responsibly handled the issue and tried her best to meet the customer's needs! She personally plated the mooncakes, brought cutlery, and thoughtfully said, ”Closing time is 9:30 PM, but we can extend it by 10-15 minutes if needed!” I couldn't help but ask, ”Why is your restaurant service so good?! Won't this delay your off-duty time?” She replied, ”15 minutes is definitely not enough to eat mooncakes... that would be too rushed...” This manager also enthusiastically helped us change to a fresh pot of tea! When she learned that we were hotel guests, the manager said, ”Then you should enjoy your meals and drinks even more at the hotel restaurant!”... ”Coming to the restaurant is like coming home for a meal!” I never expected such a broad mind and high-level perspective from this restaurant manager! This service philosophy of ”leaving convenience for guests and trouble for oneself” is truly touching! What's more, I never expected a hotel restaurant manager to treat hotel guests like family! I believe this restaurant is not only dedicated to serving in-house guests but also provides a ”home away from home” experience for every customer who dines there! The entire team at [Dian Cui Fang · Lingnan Handmade Dim Sum · Tea Ceremony] on the 27th floor of [Guangzhou Ocean Hotel] provides excellent service! The waiter, waitress, and even the auntie who serves dishes are all very nice! I won't list all the four-digit employee numbers here! I've been so busy praising the restaurant's service... In fact, the dishes and dim sum from the hotel restaurant on the 27th floor are also delicious... Additionally, this restaurant offers unique dishes that cannot be found elsewhere! Thankful for this encounter! Thank you for meeting such wonderful people! The entire team at the 27th-floor hotel restaurant! My business trip happened to coincide with the hotel's Qixi (Chinese Valentine's Day) DIY sachet event, which really set a wonderful atmosphere. I got to make a sachet to take home and also received a small aroma diffuser – such thoughtful little details! The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the service was excellent. Its proximity to the airport made travel very convenient. It was a lovely little highlight during a busy trip, definitely recommend!

I arrived on the evening of September 30th, a day before the main tourist crowd, and the high-floor views were absolutely stunning! It wasn't too crowded yet, so the experience was excellent. From the in-room amenities to the quality of the room service, everything met high standards. However, once the National Day holiday officially started the next day and it got crowded, things started to go downhill. Firstly, the elevators became difficult to catch. After exiting the elevator on the 70th floor, you were immediately met with a large, noisy, and chaotic crowd. It was hard to distinguish between guests and tourists, as many people were there just to take photos. Secondly, the breakfast on the 72nd floor became exceptionally chaotic. It was incredibly noisy and crowded, and the staff seemed constantly overwhelmed. Orders were forgotten or missed; tea took forever to arrive, or we'd order two drinks and only get one. On the first day, when there were fewer people, plates were cleared promptly, but on the subsequent two days, hardly anyone came to clear them, so they just piled up on our table. Turndown service was my favorite part. Coming back from outside to a clean and tidy room always made me feel happy, comfortable, and relaxed. It truly gave us that 'home away from home' feeling. Many hotels no longer offer turndown service, but Four Seasons still does. However, why wasn't it provided on our third night? Was it too busy? I had to call housekeeping to get extra towels and tissues, which was quite disappointing.

I brought my family for a staycation at this hotel during the National Day holiday. A big thank you to Hillary for the warm welcome; all the staff were very nice. We stayed for a full day without leaving the hotel. On the first afternoon, we enjoyed the outdoor pool, and on the second morning, we played on the big lawn. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience. For kids, the outdoor pool, large lawn, and some non-motorized play facilities were a hit. My 3-year-old was thrilled and said he wants to come back. For active kids, there's also a skate park right across from the hotel. As for the adults, I swam in the indoor pool. It wasn't crowded during the National Day holiday, which was very pleasant. I forgot my swimming goggles, but the water wasn't irritating to my eyes. The breakfast was up to five-star hotel standards, with a good variety of both Chinese and Western options. The hotel is a bit older, so the room facilities are slightly dated, but it's clear they are well-maintained. The other good aspects definitely make up for it. Personally, this is a hotel I'd happily visit again.

Perhaps my stay two years ago was so exceptional that this time the disparity was too great, leaving me very disappointed. Two years ago, I booked an Opera House View room, and the hotel proactively upgraded me to an Executive Canton Tower View room. The butler at that time was also incredibly enthusiastic. So, for our family's Mid-Autumn Festival trip this year, I still chose the Ritz, but the actual experience this time was uncomfortable. 1. I had previously asked the hotel through Ctrip to arrange a butler. This butler, Thalia, might as well have been a robot; her communication was consistently stiff and cold. Any request I made was met with a declaration that it would incur a fee. I understand that hotels face operational challenges and need to control costs, but as a five-star hotel operating under the 'Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen' philosophy, even if a guest's request cannot be met, there should be a more tactful way of responding. The hotel urgently needs to improve its training in butler service capabilities! 2. This time, I booked a Canton Tower View Twin room and specifically requested a high floor. On the day of check-in, I noticed many available rooms on various platforms, suggesting an average occupancy rate. However, the front desk only assigned us to the 26th floor. The first impression upon entering was that it looked like a state-run guesthouse, completely different from the room I stayed in two years ago. Moreover, looking out the window, I could only see the roof of the museum in front, which was very depressing. I immediately went to the front desk to request a room change. Fortunately, a duty manager helped coordinate, and we were eventually upgraded to an executive floor, similar to what I had two years ago. The room decor there was a world apart from the 26th-floor room. The hotel has too significant a difference in room decor between its non-executive and executive floors, which will lead to losing some of its basic clientele! 3. We were upgraded to an executive floor but received no executive benefits. We paid an extra bed fee, but it didn't include breakfast, and the little lion (children's amenity) had to be purchased separately. These are hotel rules, but couldn't there be a better way to handle things to retain customers? In short, this stay left me quite disappointed with the hotel, and I won't be returning in the future.

The room was clean and bright, the king-sized mattress had just the right firmness, and the pillows were very comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. The bathroom features a dry and wet separation design with strong water pressure. The entire room is equipped with smart lighting. The location is unbeatable—close to Gangding Metro Station and within walking distance of Taikoo Hui. Check-in at the front desk was efficient and the service was attentive. Our stay at W Hotel Guangzhou was absolutely delightful! A special shout-out to Rebecca from Guest Relations – she was incredibly proactive, reaching out before our arrival to understand our needs and responding swiftly and professionally. It happened to be my child's birthday during our stay, and the hotel thoughtfully arranged a birthday setup and a little surprise, making the celebration feel extra special and bringing so much joy to my kid. The hotel's location in Zhujiang New Town is super convenient for getting around, the rooms are spotless, and the signature W trendy design creates a fantastic atmosphere. Rebecca continued to follow up throughout our stay, patiently answering all our questions and providing attentive service that was never intrusive. My friend came to Guangzhou, so I specifically booked a hotel near Guangzhou East Railway Station. The main reason was to make it convenient for them upon arrival, so they wouldn't have to travel far, and also to avoid rushing when they leave. 📍: The location is super convenient, right near Exit B1 of Guangzhou East Railway Station Metro. You can practically see the entrance to the East Station from the hotel. Facilities: The bed was very clean and comfortable. WiFi, disposable toothbrushes, disposable slippers, and a hairdryer were all provided. Cleanliness: The room looked very clean. Although the decor seems a bit dated, there were no strange odors. Service: The service was very thoughtful. I accidentally clogged the toilet, and they helped resolve it. When I needed two extra bottles of mineral water, they proactively delivered them to my room door.

I highly recommend this Hampton by Hilton! I knew the hotel had been open for 8 years, so I was a bit worried the facilities might be old, but my stay far exceeded my expectations. It's rare to find an 8-year-old hotel that's still so well-maintained. The lobby and corridors are clean and bright, with no signs of wear and tear or unpleasant smells. The guest rooms are immaculately kept. The room was spacious, with a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom. The mattress was the standard Hampton comfort, and the hot water supply was stable. All the appliances worked perfectly, showing that the daily maintenance is truly exceptional. The front desk staff were warm and courteous, check-in was efficient, and the service was professional and thoughtful. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options. The gym and self-service laundry facilities were well-equipped, making it suitable for both business travelers and short getaways.
