Due to an early high-speed train, I checked in very late. I chose this hotel over a similar-priced competitor near Guangzhou East Station, hoping for a more personalized experience and a good rest. However, the entire experience was an absolute nightmare, and I barely slept. The room was old, and the smell was incredibly strong; my rhinitis kept me congested and unable to breathe properly all night. I couldn't even improve the situation by lowering the AC temperature or fan speed – I can't believe there are still hotels these days where you can't control the room temperature yourself. The most infuriating part was when I checked out and reported these issues to the male front desk staff. He completely disregarded my feedback, even sneeringly suggesting I could have changed rooms, as if he was annoyed I'd interrupted his nap at the front desk. There was zero empathy or service awareness. After I left, hotel staff added me directly on WeChat without even calling first, asking for a positive review. When I reiterated my complaints, they just offered generic platitudes about giving me something on my next stay.

Oakwood Premier is extremely convenient - just one metro station ride on Line 1 from Guangzhou East rail station, and ＜10 mins walk from Exit A. The check in, restaurant and housekeeping staff members are courteous and responsive to our needs - extra towels, restaurant bookings etc. It is a welcoming change from other hotel chains in other countries which we experienced lately. The room is clean and spacious. There is however too many furniture (probably due to accommodating long term guests who need plenty of storage). Less furniture would be ideal with more walking space and effective opening of doors, eg bedroom door, if open, will block access to the wardrobe door. The breakfast buffet spread is sufficient - Chinese and western dishes. The dining room is huge, bright and spacious with large windows. The F&B knowledge could be improved though eg having available the appropriate condiments with the buffet items (calamari rings, delicious but no dips to go with), fresh waffle with no maple syrup (just 4 different fruit jams and 1 peanut butter options), crispy bacon (but not cripsy in reality), Chinese dim sum (with no chili oil/sauce, vinegar etc) at lukewarm temperature (the steaming switch was deliberately kept at OFF though I switched it to ON several times.) We will be back though. The value is in the location, clean and spacious room. Not the food.

This was my first time choosing the Hilton brand, despite having traveled many times before, and frankly, I wasn't very satisfied with the experience. Although the staff were quick to address issues, the fundamental problem was the old and outdated facilities. As soon as my mother and I entered the room, we noticed a distinct foul odor. Considering the significant rainfall in Guangdong recently, we thought it might be a smell coming from the air conditioning ducts, so we ran the AC for a long time. It improved slightly after we returned from dinner that evening. However, when we came back to the hotel the next day and opened the door, there was still a noticeable foul and musty smell. We called the front desk to report the issue, and the staff quickly brought an air purifier. While the foul smell did improve, the musty smell remained persistent. They did offer to move us to another room, but since we were checking out the very next day, we really didn't want the hassle. I have sensitive, allergic skin, and shortly after resting my chin on the pillow that was in contact with the headboard, I developed a large area of redness and itching. I hope the hotel seriously investigates their hygiene standards and checks the bedding for dust mites. Also, I've rarely seen such a stingy mini-bar offering – only two Cokes and one juice for the initial complimentary selection.

First, I'd like to extend my gratitude to Bey at the front desk for a smooth and efficient check-in process. Bey was not only professional and patient but also incredibly friendly, with excellent bilingual communication skills, making conversations in both Chinese and English feel natural and effortless. During check-in, she enthusiastically shared many local tips for sightseeing, dining, and transportation in Guangzhou, which made my first visit to the city much easier and truly showed the hotel's warmth. I also want to give a special shout-out to Niki at the Executive Lounge. She also possesses outstanding bilingual service capabilities, along with a warm, friendly, and meticulous demeanor. Since I haven't lived in China for quite some time, I struggled to recall the Chinese terms for some of my allergies when confirming my dietary restrictions. I turned to Niki for help, and she patiently assisted me in confirming the relevant information and communicating it, which made the whole process much less stressful. Later, upon learning I couldn't drink skim milk, Niki went out of her way to find whole milk for me. These seemingly small details truly made me feel like I was experiencing genuine guest-centric service. On the day of my departure, I decided to relax in the Executive Lounge before heading to the airport. During that time, I saw an intern helping an older lady with an airline ticket booking issue. Although the process took a considerable amount of time, the intern maintained a patient and positive attitude throughout, diligently trying to resolve the problem. The lady later chatted with me for a bit and spoke highly of the Sofitel's service. I believe excellent service isn't just about quick problem-solving; it's also about staff members' willingness to listen attentively and actively assist every guest. Overall, Sofitel Guangzhou offers a high standard of service, and employees like Bey, Niki, and the dedicated intern truly made this stay exceptionally memorable. I look forward to choosing Sofitel again on my next visit to Guangzhou.

Out of all the hotels I've stayed in, this is the first time I've been captivated by a lobby's blue inverted-triangle chandelier – it immediately caught my eye the moment I walked in. It's so different from the crystal chandeliers you see in many high-end hotels, truly unique. The lobby's aroma was also very pleasant. The room had excellent soundproofing and a grand design. The high-thread-count bedding felt like sleeping on clouds, and the mattress was incredibly comfortable – a lifesaver for someone like me with back problems. The hotel also has a pool and a gym, but I was pressed for time this trip and couldn't experience them. What left the deepest impression on me was the freshly cooked noodle station at breakfast; the chef enthusiastically recommended the day's specials. This kind of thoughtful service, treating guests like family, is true luxury. The hotel's parking spaces are also ample, so even new drivers won't have any issues. I'll definitely choose the Eastin Hotel again for my next business trip to Guangzhou.

The Garden Hotel Guangzhou is, by far, the most satisfying and best value-for-money hotel I've stayed in this year. Staying in a five-star, old-money style hotel is just so comfortable. All the furniture is made of high-quality solid wood, giving the entire hotel an understated yet grand and luxurious feel. The room was incredibly spacious! The front desk upgraded me to a Kapok Suite, which made the experience even better! The entire hotel feels like a classic museum, a true grand garden. There are many dining options, including the Waterfall Restaurant on the 1st floor, Taoyuan Pavilion and Ming Shi Court on the 2nd floor, and the revolving restaurant on the 30th floor (where you can see Canton Tower). Our package included the buffet at the 30th-floor revolving restaurant and dim sum breakfast at Taoyuan Pavilion on the 2nd floor. The view from the 30th-floor restaurant is fantastic! It's a shame it was typhoon weather during my visit; I definitely need to go back on a clear, sunny day next time. The dim sum breakfast was also delicious, and the small dishes were exquisite. The hotel hosts many international guests, and every staff member serves with a smile – it truly is a classic, international-standard 'Old Canton' hotel. Excellent value!

A surprisingly pleasant stay! I encountered a typhoon during my trip, but the hotel conveniently offers a Chinese restaurant, a food street, and various chain brand dining options, so I didn't even have to leave to get a good meal. The hotel is also just a few hundred meters' walk from a commercial street, a museum, and a large park, making its location absolutely fantastic with plenty of bustling activity nearby. A big thank you to the front desk for upgrading my room type. The room was spotlessly clean, and I felt that the facilities and amenities provided were on par with other five-star hotels in the city. The housekeeping staff were warm and friendly. I'll definitely prioritize staying at China Hotel next time I'm in the area.

I've stayed at Sanying many times; it's a well-established hot spring hotel. The buffet dinner offers great value for money and is definitely worth it! Breakfast also has a wide variety, meeting five-star hotel standards! After a hike, soaking in the hot springs with the family is always a joy. The standalone villa was absolutely therapeutic! It was quiet and comfortable all night, completely away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The breakfast buffet was abundant and fresh, and I ate to my heart's content. Soaking in the hot springs completely relaxed me; the environment was serene, and the service was attentive. There's a shuttle bus to pick you up and drop you off at your room. I just didn't want to leave once I was there. It's perfect for a relaxing getaway, and I'll definitely come back next time!

After a fresh rain in the mountains, I unexpectedly encountered a 'lying flat' Thai-style getaway in Guangzhou 🌿. I took advantage of the weekend to stay at the Dusit Thani Conghua, and happened to catch a rain shower. The air was filled with the scent of earth and fresh grass, truly embodying the phrase 'after a fresh rain in the mountains' – it's the perfect spot for a weekend staycation! The hotel features a collection of Thai-style villas, nestled by mountains and water. The public areas are adorned with tropical plants, and peacocks leisurely roam around, making me feel like I was back in Chiang Mai for a moment. The infinity pool and the bird's nest hot springs are especially photogenic. If you come on a weekday, you can practically have the hot springs all to yourself – truly chill. I particularly want to commend Luke for his butler service. From reminders about my itinerary before check-in to fulfilling various requests after check-in, his responses were always prompt and proactive. He was attentive without being intrusive, which made for an excellent impression. If you're looking to escape the concrete jungle of the city and find a quiet place to relax for a couple of days, this would be a great choice.

My room was a luxurious suite with private bath tub (around hkd 3000 for two nights including breakfast). Hardware is definitely exceptional. However when it comes to service it is below standard: 1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all; 2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again. 3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment. I won’t come to this resort again, if the service of the hotel haven’t improved. And I won’t recommend travelers with kids who is looking for a family friendly and good service resort. P.S.: Parking spaces were spacious and free

The hotel was easy to find, and both check-in and check-out were quick and convenient with minimal waiting. Annie Yan at the front desk promptly processed our check-in and provided useful information. The room was clean, tidy, and very spacious. The air conditioning was especially great – perfect for Guangzhou's hot weather, keeping the room nice and cool, which instantly made me feel relaxed. The soundproofing was excellent too; it was very quiet at night, ensuring a good night's sleep. It was a satisfying weekend hotel experience and a great place for a future getaway. I'll definitely be back!

I checked into the hotel late at night, and the front desk staff kindly upgraded me to a room on the 21st floor. The smart home system was fantastic, and the room even had a bathtub! The soundproofing was excellent; even though my room faced the elevators, I didn't hear a single sound from outside all night. The only downside was the smart lighting system, which bothered me all night. If I got up in the middle of the night, it would activate, but there was no single button to turn all the lights off. It took several attempts to get them off, and then I couldn't get back to sleep... Overall, I still highly recommend this place and would choose to stay here again next time.

The hotel is wow! They have free transportation from terminals. If you arrived at terminal 2, after passing passport control, go to the second floor to departure hall and find exit 46. The bus from the hotel will pick you up right there, outside the exit. Reception guys are very helpful, they helped with your luggage and anything you need. The room itself is very spacious. The floor in the room is so soft, like a cloud! The bed is very comfortable, pillows just amazing! The bath robe is so soft, double layered, I loved it. All you need you have in a room. Only one thing can be improved, could be nice if there would be face wash and face lotion at least. Overall, very pleasant stopover experience. Would book again for longer stopover to discover hotel’s spa and restaurant.

For this birthday celebration, among MO, Rosewood, and Four Seasons, I chose Four Seasons. Unexpectedly, the experience was even better than I imagined. The staff were all very responsible and polite. Knowing it was our anniversary, they even prepared a souvenir gift and a small cake. Winstom, in particular, was incredibly attentive! When we checked out, we had a lot of bags, making it difficult to go downstairs, and he provided exceptionally thoughtful service. The hotel environment also met my expectations. The only regret was the cloudy weather. I'll definitely come back next time!

This was my first time staying at the Shangri-La in Guangzhou. Although the decor is a bit dated, the service consistently maintained its high standard. Staff in every department were polite, attentive, and thoughtful. On the 9th, breakfast was quite crowded due to an exhibition, so by around 9 AM, many dishes were already gone. However, breakfast on the 10th was very satisfying; I got to try many Guangzhou dim sum dishes. I especially loved the shrimp wontons and the steamed red bean cake. I'd definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Traveling with my mother, we chose this established five-star hotel, and the experience far exceeded our expectations. The front desk manager, Michelle, was incredibly thoughtful. After understanding our situation, she proactively arranged a high-floor room for us, away from the noise, which ensured a very peaceful stay. As soon as you step into the lobby, you're greeted by a pleasant fragrance, creating a wonderful ambiance. The hotel, despite its age, doesn't feel old; every detail of cleanliness is meticulously maintained, and all staff members are service-oriented. The morning dim sum at Ming Court was excellent, especially the buffalo milk tarts. The prime location also added a lot to our trip. It was a very enjoyable stay, and we will definitely return on our next visit.

This hotel was perfect for attending Chen Chusheng's concert. It's just one subway stop from University Town, so getting back to the hotel quickly after the show was a breeze. A big shout-out to Guangzhou's excellent management; the order was fantastic! The hotel's location deserves full marks – it's right by subway exit A, super close! 😁 The higher floor offered great views, and the room was spacious. The breakfast had delicious bread and waffles 🧇, tasty freshly made rice noodles, and plenty of fruit. We enjoyed the views while we ate. Both the floor staff and the ground floor attendants were very friendly. If you have time, you can also walk along the greenway on the island. The only downside is the price, around 500 a night, but overall, it was a good experience.
