the parking is indeed a novelty - a 1st time for me and my partner. there were staffs on standby to assist with the parking by giving directions. we were served welcome drinks and cold towels upon arrival at the hotel lobby. no breakfast provided, but the food options nearby are so plenty hence one can never run out of food in penang. service was also good, towels and bedding very comfy and curterous staff. lifts and common areas are clean.
I was upgraded to a Deluxe room but it was at the extreme corner next to the service staircase. Grateful for the upgraded but the room conditions were not up to par . Hair in shower room , the shower holder fell when I was taking it out and it dropped on my toe . Hence the blue black toe shown ( hehe ) . I could not sleep the whole night as the air con was very very noisy even when I lower the adjustment. The day curtain was torn . I sound it out to reception the next morning to see whether they can change my room as I was staying for another 2 nights . They did and I reckoned it was another up grade as now the room has a standing shower room . In the other previous room , you have to stand in the bath tub to shower and for a man of 65 , it is a bit tricky . The hotel really needs an up grade too . It is in a good location and CAT bus is nearby . The CAT shuttle is a complimentary bus that moves around the town area .
The saving grace for my trip was that the staff was up to par and reacted quickly . Well done on this .
Now , I wait for my toe to heal .
The hotel was near to eateries and some malls but the malls are not the ‘high end’ type. Almost all the food options in the mall are Muslim friendly.
Hotel service was good but we didn’t make use of their facilities such as the swimming pool and gym.
The breakfast buffet was not really fantastic as the food is almost the same daily and not very tasty.. quite disappointing for a 4-star hotel under Shangri-La group.
The room is quite spacious but toilet is a bit small.
Water pressure from toilet bowl flushing was strong and noisy and water will start splashing around if we don’t close the toilet seat.
The journey to hotel from airport is about 25-30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Overall I would suggest staying at Gurney area instead of this area as the food options are better at Gurney.
Enjoyable, as i am travelling for work, very near to my workplace, easy to check in, as well as given complimentary drinks throughout the stay. Except that, the housekeeper doesnt replace or give any new toothbrush for us on the second day, maybethe hotel can improve on that, overall nice staycation.
Location is good, park our car & we walk out everyday to nearby eateries. View from our room is spectacular & watch sunset if in room during sunset time. Looking forward to coming Durian-cation offers by St.Giles Hotel.
Only setback during this trip is the EV car charger which is not functioning throughout my stay. Also info from St.Giles website on EV car charging specs is inaccurate. Too bad we didn’t manage to charge our car at hotel, but managed to charge at next door Granite Hotel
Excellent, excellent, excellent! The facilities are complete and well-equipped, the environment is elegant, and the service is attentive. The surrounding amenities are also comprehensive. The front desk service was thoughtful and meticulous, and the breakfast was clean, hygienic, and plentiful. Uh.
We checked in early but rooms were not ready, so we left our luggage and steoll around the town before going back late evening. Rooms are comfortable with basic hygiene, drinking water, TV, wardrobe with hangers, spacious bathroom. Two room cards provided with limited access to your respective room floor only. There's rooftop bar with 2 public jacuzzis, but seems like no other patrons except us when we were there. View of The Top (Komtar) can be easily seen from here.
To improve: Consider replacing worn-out tables/ chairs. The heater takes some time to reach desired temperature (hot) and water pressure dropped in the evening.
This property is dated to say the least. It needs a makeover. The power points weren’t functioning as they should and nothing was done even after informing the reception. The breakfast spread was good, mainly local food which was nice. Housekeeping did their job but the free snacks in the room weren’t replenished. Maybe it’s a one time thing but there was no mentioned. Not a big deal tho.
The location is prefect if one wants to explore Penang’s architecture on foot. Many colonial buildings surrounds the property. Close to many street food places. On the whole, the experience was just above par.
For solo travelers like me, this place is incredibly convenient because of its excellent transportation links. All the main attractions – whether it's the beach, historic houses, restaurants, or various downtown spots – are within walking distance. I stayed here for a week and didn't need a single taxi. In the evenings, I could just stroll out to a bar or find some great food. I even made quite a few friends! The hotel's restaurant is also very good. Overall, the value for money here is exceptional.
Lovely and comfortable rooms.. Cheapest room also has bath tub.. Everything function well.. Got two free welcoming box drink in fridge.. Basic amenities available.. The room I book need to request iron board and iron from reception.. Buffet is okay.. Limited chocie foods but good enough for the price u pay..

Ssj91this hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.

GGuest UserThis was my second time staying at OZO Hotel.
After this second stay, I realized that it is not very family-friendly for parents travelling with young children.
First, their parking system is an automated parking system where you drive in and the system parks the car for you. This makes things inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage, because you have to take an extra elevator trip before parking, which can be quite troublesome.
Second, their check-in reception is located on Level 20, which is very inconvenient. Imagine having to carry multiple suitcases while also holding a child, and still needing to take the elevator all the way up to the 20th floor just to check in.
Third, I requested assistance from the security staff to help bring my luggage upstairs, but my request was rejected—possibly due to a lack of manpower.
I was assigned a room on Level 11, the last room at the end of the hallway (I forgot to request not to be given the last room). I felt uncomfortable the whole night. Even though it was a Superior King Room, it wasn’t very spacious. Sleeping together with a 2-year-old child felt very crowded.
Overall: Not family-friendly for parents with young children. This was my second stay, and it will be my last time.

GGuest UserWhat I liked: quick and convenient communication with the administrator during check-in. The room offered good value for money. What I didn't like: The pool rules weren't supported by its infrastructure. There's nowhere to change into dry clothes, but you're not allowed to leave in wet ones. The floor in front of the pool gets scorching hot in the sun, yet they require you to walk barefoot, even without slippers. They even came up with a dress code for visiting.
SsummerflyyyThe hotel staff were really friendly and even let us check in early, which was super smooth.
We stayed in a windowless room. There was this weird extended space in the ceiling between the two beds (like a fake window, I guess?). Not sure why it was designed that way, it was a bit strange (and a little creepy for two girls). During the day, it seemed like it was meant to let some light in.
There's a pool on the third floor, but we didn't get to try it out. We were only staying for one night and didn't have much time.
Right across from the hotel is this building, and I actually bought a fridge magnet of it! Only realized it after I bought it, haha.
