Regarding the facilities, I need to pay by my own self for the car parking service. They are charging RM 24 per day and I am staying for 4 days 3 nights. Do you think how much I need to pay for the car parking which they never stated that visitors or customers need to paying by ourselves. I hope that in the future, please stated very clearly that we need to paying by ourselves without inform us.

Guest UserThis is my third trip to Kuala Lumpur, and my second stay at Traders. I chose it again based on the fantastic experience I had the first time, from the service to the location and the dining options. However, this time was a bit disappointing. The renovated bathroom had endless issues; the soap dish in the shower area became a stagnant water trap (and wasn't addressed during cleaning the next day). I even found an employee's business card in the bathtub, so I could only reassure myself that at least it gets cleaned daily. As a hotel under the Shangri-La Group, it really shouldn't be like this.

CashNieI had a truly satisfying experience.
First, let's talk about the location. There's a night market right downstairs. For breakfast, there's an excellent coffee shop nearby that serves Kaya toast and local specialties at reasonable prices – perfect for a morning meal. The night market offers a great variety of local food options for dinner, which is a fantastic experience. The hotel is also conveniently located for exploring all the attractions in George Town, whether you choose to walk or take a Grab.
Now, a special mention for the hotel itself. Everything from the ambiance, room layout, and especially the concierge service and the professionalism of the staff, was outstanding. Although the rooms show their age, they are incredibly clean, well-maintained, and smartly designed. It was a wonderful experience overall, and I highly recommend booking here. If I visit Penang again, I will definitely stay at this hotel. Many thanks to the hotel for their thoughtful, attentive, and professional service!

Anonymous UserReally nice and clean place to stay in. Have a great meeting lobby, clean room. Also a convenient shop where you can get almost anything! Great location. Facilities are very good swimming pools, gyms but don’t have enough time to go around. The massage is at level 10, tried out. Not bad though.

Guest UserThe hotel's location is great, with many famous food spots within walking distance. The breakfast at Mingyuan Teahouse next door is also very good. The room was clean and tidied daily. The soundproofing was decent, so I barely heard any noise while sleeping. The rooftop pool was very photogenic, and my kids loved it, even taking a dip before we left. The only downside was that when the airport delivered my luggage to the hotel, they didn't inform me. The first time I asked, they said it wasn't there. It was only when I asked again at the front desk the next day that I found my luggage sitting in the office, with a tag clearly showing my name and room number. The airport had delivered it in the middle of the night, but the hotel never bothered to contact me, causing me to wait an entire day for nothing.

Guest UserThe hotel's location is incredibly convenient, close to all the main attractions with excellent transport links. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet, making for a very satisfying stay. I was particularly impressed by the hotel's accessible facilities; it's wheelchair-friendly, which is a huge plus for seniors and guests with mobility issues. The staff were all friendly, warm, and attentive. This is definitely a hotel I'd recommend and will certainly be returning to! 😊🏨♿✨

M. Y. LiewStayed for one night in the 2-bedroom duplex. The room looked clean at first, but the cleanliness could be improved. There was quite a lot of dust under the bed and on the curtains. The kitchen sink and drain had some stains and looked like they were not cleaned properly. The bathroom also looked a bit old and wasn’t very clean.
Since it’s a 2-bedroom duplex, it would be better to have two bathrooms instead of just one. There was also very little space around the bathroom sink to put toiletries. The clothes rack was loose and kept falling off whenever we hung clothes on it.
The upstairs bedroom door caught on the carpet every time it was opened, causing the carpet to lift up. This should be repaired as it could be a safety hazard.
Other than these, the room was spacious and the stay was okay. Better cleaning and maintenance would definitely improve the overall experience.

Guest UserThis hotel was arguably the best value for money on our entire Singapore-Malaysia trip. The overall style is an unfussy, beachfront vibe. The basic room type, priced under 400 MYR, all come with balconies and are located in the main building on higher floors. We paid a little extra for a room type that required us to go down from the main hall and take another elevator; it was on a lower floor but closer to the sea, with a very large balcony and expansive views. It has all the standard resort amenities, the common areas are pleasant, the private beach offers fantastic scenery, and the sea-view restaurant is also quite good, especially the 38 MYR set menu which is excellent value.

Guest UserThis international chain hotel boasts excellent facilities and service. The decor is very distinctive, with pleasing color combinations. The lobby, rooms, gym, and pool facilities are all new, making for a very comfortable stay. The laundry room is convenient, costing 15 MYR for washing and 10 MYR for drying. The front desk staff are patient and meticulous, especially the gentleman working the night shift who is particularly dedicated and responsible. The hotel's location is also great; there's a mall right across the street, and it's a ten-minute walk to Mural Street. It's easy to get to major attractions by Grab taxi, and the airport is a 20-minute drive away.

YtiongRecently returned from a 4D3N stay in Penang.
Check-in was quick and efficient, with a RM200 deposit required upon arrival. The lobby is relatively small and always bustling with guests coming and going. There is a convenience store located on the ground floor, and a popular Japanese restaurant just outside where people are constantly queuing, giving the hotel a lively atmosphere.
The hotel offers valet service. However, the personnel stationed at the main entrance were unable to assist with even basic questions regarding directions and nearby places, which was disappointing.
Reception was consistently busy throughout our stay. While service was efficient, the team appeared overwhelmed at times, resulting in little interaction or welcoming hospitality.
Rooms are located up to Level 35, while the gym and pool are on Level 36. The gym is surprisingly well-equipped and was one of the highlights of the stay. With the large number of rooms in the building and only four elevators in operation, waiting times can be quite long, especially during peak periods such as check-in, check-out, and evenings.
Security was one area that concerned me. Access to guest floors requires a room key card, but I noticed there were no CCTV cameras inside the elevators, along the guest room corridors, or in the stairwells. Personally, this affected my sense of security.
The room itself was spacious and offered a beautiful sea view, which I thoroughly enjoyed. There was also a filtered water dispenser in the room, a feature I appreciated. Basic amenities were provided.
On the downside, the water pressure in the bathroom remained weak throughout my stay, and there was a constant sewage smell coming from the bathroom. The room also did not have a telephone or safe deposit box. To contact reception, guests need to communicate via WhatsApp. There is also no room service available, though this did not affect me personally.
Check-out was effortless. I simply returned the room keys and left for my morning flight without any room inspection delays.
Would I visit Penang again? Absolutely.
Would I stay at this hotel again? Probably not. While the room size, view, and facilities were good, the security concerns and bathroom issues would likely lead me to explore other accommodation options on my next visit.
