Fujiyoshida, located at the foot of Mt. Fuji. Perfect for both business and leisure. Close to Mt. Fuji Station

"Excellent, I loved it! I definitely have to go back and stay again. The view of Mount Fuji is absolutely stunning, and it's super close to the station. You have to get up early to snap photos of Fuji before it disappears! The room itself was fantastic, much better than other hotels I've stayed at. I really preferred this one. The room was beautiful, and the bathroom was great, with almost everything a luxury hotel offers. All the amenities you could need were provided, so you don't even have to bring your own. We chose the Japanese-style bedding with two futons, which was perfect for two people."

Even though it's a ryokan-style hotel, the private room was quite large and spacious. It had its own bathroom and sink inside the room. The bedding was a futon on the floor, and yukata robes were provided. The shared bathrooms, separated by gender, were outside the room. They were large enough for 3-4 people to shower at once and could be locked. There was also a large soaking tub in the bathroom. But the view of Mount Fuji? Absolutely unbeatable! Especially in the morning with the golden light, Fuji-san looked incredibly beautiful.

I arrived late at night from Fuji Station and had to pay 3,700 yen for a taxi. I was surprised when I got there because the house was located on a hill and the road was very dark. I asked the taxi driver to wait while I walked down to check. Luckily, the lights were on and I found the host waiting to welcome us warmly, even though it was already late. Owner had already prepared hot water and asked what time we would like to take a bath. She even guided us to a small onsen. The host was very attentive and kind. Although the place looked a bit scary at night from the outside, the inside was very warm and cozy. When I woke up the next morning, I felt completely rested. The room was clean, and the host’s hospitality made the whole experience feel so worthwhile. I felt like the money I spent was totally worth it—it gave me not only comfort but also beautiful memories. The atmosphere was like staying in a countryside vacation home—quiet, peaceful, and heartwarming. If you’re planning to rent a car, this is definitely a place I’d recommend. There’s a parking space, and it’s not crowded at all. I truly want to recommend this place!

The hotel is run by an elderly gentlemen, so we couldn’t reach him by e-mail when we wanted to send there our luggage, so we had to send it directly to our next location. The hotel itself is in a rather old building, so it doubtfully will be up to the most comfort-loving travelers‘ taste, but it was clean and neat, and the view from the room was amazing 😍 On the down part, since the building was old, as soon as more lodgers arrived there came a stinking smell from the bathroom with was rather unpleasant. Also I’d suggest bringing your own slippers, since the lodgers are required to take off their shoes right from the threshold as in the most traditional Japanese houses, so if you have issues with wearing slippers worn by anybody else before you, take your own. The futon beds were very comfy, however the blanket was rather hot for the weather (we went in April). All in all, you get all the most necessary things like toothbrushes, bathrobes, towels. For its price it’s very nice :) And the location is 25 min walk from Kawaguchiko station, and the walk is very nice with view of Fuji-san from many streets.

This is our second time staying at this hotel, and once again, we are absolutely thrilled! The location is a perfect 10 out of 10, with the bus and train stations literally just across the street. There are 7-Eleven and Lawson convenience stores nearby, a bank next door offering a great currency exchange rate, and plenty of souvenir shops and cozy restaurants around. As for the rooms, they offer the perfect value for money. Staying in a traditional Japanese-style room with a direct view of Mount Fuji is the best thing you could ever dream of! The hotel also features a wonderful onsen, which also looks out at the mountain. Everything is beautifully clean and well-maintained. The staff is incredibly polite and helpful. On the day we were supposed to check out, a typhoon was approaching, and our bus got rescheduled. The staff kindly offered us to stay and wait out the storm in a special recreation room with a TV and a ping-pong table, so we wouldn’t freeze outside in the rain. It was so incredibly sweet of them! Special thanks to the team for such amazing care! We will definitely come back again.

It's about an 8-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Station, but the accommodation itself is quite old. The floorboards are starting to creak and feel wobbly. There are no pajamas provided. For breakfast, you get one piece of bread and one roll. The bathroom is quite old and the bedroom is rather small.

My stay at K’s House was pleasant overall. The staff were very friendly and helpful—they even took the time to give me tips and guidance on bus routes around Lake Yamanakako, which I really appreciated. The bunk beds were comfortable and well-designed, with convenient plug points provided, making it easy to charge devices. The facilities, including the toilets, were clean and well maintained. The only downside is the location—it’s about a 20-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Station, which can feel a bit far, especially with luggage. Additionally, there is only one bathroom per floor, which might be slightly inconvenient during busy times. That said, I still had a good experience here and would recommend it for a comfortable stay with helpful staff.

Room Types: A small European-style inn, offering tatami rooms, some rooms with open-air or private baths, and also providing private baths. • View: Many guests praise the view of Mount Fuji from the living room, a major plus and perfect for taking photos and relaxing. • Facilities: The building's exterior and interior have a slightly dated feel. Some travelers mentioned cracked wallpaper and a slightly old bathroom, but the rooms are large, clean, and well-equipped. • Note: There are many stairs, making it less suitable for people with mobility issues or those with a lot of luggage.

The hotel offers a beautiful lakeside view directly in front of Lake Shoji, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere throughout the stay. Although the property is quite old, it is well maintained and full of charming vintage Japanese character. The service was warm and attentive, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The location is especially convenient for travelers driving around the Fuji area, with easy access and a comfortable overall experience. We also reserved a private onsen for bathing, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Please note that the room itself did not include a shower — only a toilet — but this matched the traditional Japanese-style ryokan experience. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended for travelers seeking an authentic, nostalgic Japanese atmosphere with beautiful scenery and genuine hospitality.

Perfect location with a view of Mt. Fuji right outside our window. The ryokan style accommodation was simple but very comfortable. The management was very trusting of their guests. You could purchase anything that is on sale and leave the money in a money box. They also provided free transfers to and from kawaguchiko bus station from 9 am. But because our bus to Kofu was going to leave at 9 am they were kind enough to drop us at 8:30am. We were very grateful. If I could suggest any improvement it would be to have a bathroom in all blocks. Right now it’s only in blockB and one has to walk a short distance from the other blocks to have a bath. They could also provide a change of towels after a few days. It’s all right if you’re doing a short stay but not if you’re staying for a week or more with no towel change. But all said we would return to this hotel if we went back to Kawaguchiko.
