This was an unplanned stop between Fujikawaguchiko and Tokyo, and finding an available room at a reasonable price just a day before was already a stroke of luck. The hotel is in a very quiet, secluded spot. It may not be the most obvious comparison, but it reminded me of the hotel from The Shining, and I mean that in the best way! Checking in on a rainy evening, with the dimly lit lobby, the armchairs, the fireplace and an Asahi vending machine, felt a little magical. I also loved the architecture by the staircase, which looks out onto a small garden in the middle of the building. The room is beautifully arranged, with sliding panels separating the futon area from the bed, which gives some privacy. The view of Mt. Fuji from the window is stunning. When it rains, though, the drops from the roof are fairly loud and might bother light sleepers. As many have mentioned, the onsen isn't brand new, but that's part of its charm, and the slightly worn look didn't bother me at all. The water was clean and hot, which was especially nice on a chilly evening. Note that the room has no private shower, so you'll need to book the onsen in advance to wash. It wasn't an issue for us, since the onsen was almost always available and we only stayed one night, but on a longer stay it could be inconvenient. The surrounding area is very scenic, and if you want a break from the tourist crowds, this is the perfect place. I also highly recommend Kitchen En nearby for lunch. The food is delicious (cash only, closed on Mondays). Overall, a really lovely experience!

Excellent hotel with a really pleasant atmosphere. The room was clean and cozy, and everything we needed was provided. The location is convenient, making it easy to get to the places we wanted to go. We liked everything; our stay was peaceful and comfortable. I'd recommend it for couples and would gladly come back again. 😊

The location is quite remote, which may not be convenient without a car. The private onsen facilities feel a bit old and could use some upgrading. Overall, it’s a quiet place, but expectations should be managed.

This place is very close to Lake Yamanaka, and its off-street location makes it very quiet. If you're driving, you'll need to set your GPS to Yamanakako Post Office. The staff, especially the younger woman, was very polite and could communicate in both English and Mandarin. The whole place is a traditional Japanese ryokan with a bit of history. Don't expect it to be brand new, but it's clean and tidy, making for a comfortable stay. We booked room 102 with a garden, and we were so lucky to see a clear view of Mount Fuji on our first day! It was truly amazing to see it from our room. The only minor inconvenience was that you have to reserve a time slot for bathing. There are two private onsen rooms outside the guest rooms. When you reserve a slot, it becomes your private bath, complete with a shower area and a small indoor tub. They also provide a full range of amenities, including cleansing oil and facial wash. Overall, it's still a great choice! Highly recommended.

The hotel's main selling point is the Mount Fuji view, but it wasn't as spectacular as I imagined! The facilities are old, and there are only two small private onsen rooms, so you have to arrive early to book a time slot. I believe there are many other options at this price.

I really enjoyed my stay, and the view was absolutely breathtaking! Luckily, we had a clear view of Mount Fuji the whole time 😍 We stayed on the first floor with direct access to the garden. We left the door open all night, and it felt like sleeping in nature. We even got lucky enough to spot a deer from our room! The hosts were wonderful and very welcoming. The house itself and the interior were beautiful, and the room was spacious. There's a large dining area with everything you need. Breakfast isn't provided, but there are plenty of cafes nearby with delicious breakfast options and views of Fuji. There weren't many tourists in the town, which was a plus.

The room indeed outlooks to the Fudji. The staff was happy to show me that right I came in. I was qurious to the end what did the private onsen meant. Obviously, it turned out to be not the exact yours onsen, but the hotel rooms shared ones. The good news you could make a reservation 2 times per day and be there alone.
