I chose this hotel based on reviews, even though some were negative, but the hotel didn't disappoint our family!
The hotel's location is excellent for sightseeing!
There are parks, squares, plenty of shops if you need to pick up a few things, and many cafes and restaurants to suit every taste and budget nearby!
The breakfasts are excellent, with vegetables, porridges, and desserts!
Everything is clean and tidy. The administrator, a pleasant young woman, greeted us and sent us off with a smile.
The hotel is next to historical landmark Shah-i-Zinda necropolis. Registan Square is a 20-minute walk or 10-minute drive away.
Taxi drivers need to be given the exact location of the hotel, which is on an uphill road, otherwise they may be dropped off in front of Shah-i-Zinda Cemetery.
Hotel room is well equipped and wifi is stable.
Staffs are really helpful.
Fruits provided for breakfast are juicy.
I’m sorry I really wanted to give you guys a good rating. The hosts are very friendly and nice, location is good BUT.
1. You advertise yourself as Free WiFi zone in your signage but your WiFi doesn’t work. You said you will fix it but you didn’t.
2. Because of this I used up all my data and at 4am in the morning I had to go to the lobby to get an emergency eSIM.
3. The shower is ridiculously tiny and the angle is so high only a person who is 1.8m or higher can shower properly. The hot water is so sensitive it is either cold or scalding hot.
4. In the morning there was a dripping sound on top of my room that woke me up. It sounded like someone knocking from 4am for 3 hours straight.
5. My room did not have toilet tissues and I had to request for it.
It’s a great location and the lobby looks nice. But it’s the whole experience people need for a good stay. It will take a lot of work and investment but this hotel can be a great hotel if the owners are willing to properly fix it up. Not just cosmetically. Good luck
ZAAL Hotel is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Samarkand where guests can make the most of its garden and terrace. The bed and breakfast provides pool views, a year-round outdoor pool, a 24-hour front desk, and free Wifi is available throughout the property.
At the bed and breakfast, every unit has a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV, a private bathroom, bed linen, and towels. Units have air conditioning, and certain units at the bed and breakfast have a balcony. At the bed and breakfast, all units are allergy-free.
Breakfast at the property includes a spread of à la carte and continental dishes, and pancakes, cheese, and fruit. A mini-market is available at the bed and breakfast.
Samarkand International Airport is 3.1 miles away.
Found this place online and it was definitely a great choice! All the staff are incredibly friendly. It's quiet, clean, and has a lovely atmosphere. The breakfast is also quite good. If I ever come back, I'll choose this hotel again. Highly recommend it!!!!
A clean, beautiful hotel. The location is fine, quiet despite being next to a small mosque. I had a room on the -1st floor, facing the courtyard. The WiFi worked well, the TV had Russian channels, and the room had bottled water, a kettle, and green tea. There's also air conditioning.
The Registan, Bibi-Khanum Mosque, and Siab Bazaar are a leisurely 10-minute walk away.
The staff was friendly and helped me order a taxi.
Breakfast was served on the upstairs terrace. The view must have been beautiful, but I had an early morning train and asked for a lunchbox. They packed a fairly filling breakfast with a sandwich, yogurt, fruit, and water.
The location is almost too convenient; it's just a five-minute walk from the train station. All the attractions in Samarkand are on a straight line, and it takes about twenty minutes by taxi from the hotel to either end of that line. So you can stay overnight, visit all the attractions the next day, then take a taxi back to collect your luggage and head back to Tashkent or Bukhara in the evening. The restaurant and courtyard are particularly beautiful.
Atmospheric guest house. The hosts are very kind and hospitality. I did not agree on the time of arrival, despite this inconvenience, we were settled earlier than the time.
Good location of the guest house is the sights in step-to-step availability. Silent in the room, warm and good hot water pressure.
Breakfasts are very delicious, diverse, saturated and close to our kitchen.
In the warm season it should be very spiritually, sure of it (the inner green yard, where a gentle cat walks).
We chose this hotel based on reviews, and everything was exactly as other guests described. The staff was incredibly polite; every request or wish was handled quickly and with a smile. They even offered us a choice of rooms. Breakfast was perfectly satisfying: boiled eggs, fried eggs, omelets, porridge, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables. There was also a good selection of bread, pastries, sweets, and nuts, plus a coffee machine. The beds and mattresses were comfortable, and daily cleaning and towel changes were provided. It turns out the hotel is very close to the center. As we were walking, we easily reached Bibi Khanum Mosque after passing the hill and Shah-i-Zinda. The only downside (not related to the hotel itself) was with the taxi drivers – they constantly confused the address because there's another hotel in the city with the same name. So, make sure to show them the hotel's business card or your voucher with the address. Even that didn't save us, as one driver drove us around for an hour!
I really loved this hotel! Firstly, all the main attractions are nearby. Secondly, the rooms are clean and have everything you need. Thirdly, the breakfast is delicious and varied. And last but certainly not least, the hotel owner and all the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. Yet, their service is very discreet and never intrusive. All in all, we were very satisfied and left in a great mood! Thank you!!! If we ever go to Samarkand again, we'll definitely stay at this hotel!

GGuest UserVery satisfied, the service was very attentive. The location is within walking distance of the square, about 1.6 kilometers. There's a very good barbecue restaurant nearby. The staff speaks English, and the prices are very reasonable. The hotel entrance is very small, and I circled the building using the navigation system but couldn't find the entrance. Hahahaha, actually, the entrance is right on the road.

GGuest UserThe location is convenient for transportation. Taxi drops you off at the entrance to a fast food cafe, which is also the guesthouse entrance. The downside is street noise: with the windows open, it's loud during the day, but even at night, the sound of passing cars can disrupt your sleep. The sights are within walking distance. There are plenty of local food options nearby, but there are no European-style cafes, restaurants, or grocery stores. The rooms vary in state of repair. I stayed on the second floor in a decent double room. The third floor has a window facing the opposite side, toward the construction site. It should be quieter there. I didn't turn on the air conditioning. I only use it if the interior is spotlessly clean. There's a laundry room and a shared refrigerator. Breakfast is nominal. The owner is accommodating.
GGolandI want to express my gratitude to the staff for their wonderful service and accommodations🇺🇿🫶
We checked into our room early without any problems, as the train arrived early in the morning. The rooms are new, the bed is huge and very comfortable, and the internet is fast and stable.
Breakfast is prepared at a specific time, based on the guest's preferences, and menu preferences are clarified. The breakfasts are so generous that it's difficult for one person to finish them.
I wish your business prosperity and recommend this accommodation to all travelers.
QQuest JourneyColibari Hotel Samarkand – A Cozy Retreat 🌟
Nestled in the historic heart of Samarkand, Colibari Hotel blends modern comfort with classic Uzbek charm. The rooms are clean, spacious, and tastefully decorated, offering a restful escape after exploring the city. The friendly staff provides personalized service, making every guest feel welcome. Enjoy a delightful breakfast on the terrace with stunning city views. Conveniently located near major attractions, this hotel is ideal for a relaxing and authentic Samarkand experience.
ややまたにI'm a Japanese man.
I was sexually harassed by the owner.
After showing me to my room, he touched my upper arms and chest.
I thought he was just touching me to say, ”You have a nice body,” so I ignored it at the time.
On the day I was due to check out, he used the translator to say, ”I don't want you to leave. I love you.”
I thought it was one of those common overseas ”Are you going away? I'll miss you” types, so I just said thank you.
After that, I started getting changed, thinking I'd take a shower before leaving, but he peeked at me from outside the window.
I quickly closed the curtains and took a shower, and then he came into my room, used the translator to say, ”I just wanted to see your breasts, and please forgive me.” I thought he was serious, but I forgave him because I was scared something might happen.
The location was great, within walking distance of Registan Square, and the room was nice, so the owner's behavior was disappointing.
SSylvia TeohI didn't take pic of the room as it is basic but spacious enough. The hotel is strategically located in between various sightseeing sites. For travellers who opt for tram and bus, you choose the right location because opposite the hotel just accross the road, there is a tramvay stop and bus stop. Tramvay goes to and for the main train station if you are departing for Tashkent or Bukhara. While bus goes around the city. Take bus 22 to go around the city area such as Registan centre. Take bus 31 to and for airport. Really convenient, affordable, and I highly recommend it.
DDoc BokThis is a really great place to stay in Samarkand. Huge beds and huge rooms. The rooms have huge wardrobes, a fridge, kettle, safe, and a coffee maker. The bed is the biggest I've seen, but it's a little hard. It's close to Registan Square and a huge number of nice restaurants, even has its own restaurant attached that serves some great steak. The breakfast is really nice - you'll have a personal table with samsa and lots of snacks, and be able to order a specific breakfast on top.
AAnLawThis hotel is absolutely stunning and full of character. The painted walls, intricate golden doors, and regal design create an atmosphere of royal luxury from the moment you step inside. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Our room was decorated in a local, oriental style, with many interesting artistic touches and local vases throughout, both in the room and around the hotel. The only downside is that the hotel is tucked away amidst other buildings with no view. Our room was small, and the windows faced an enclosed inner courtyard where a door constantly slammed shut as it was a thoroughfare to all floors. Consequently, there was no view at all. You could easily sleep all day and night in a room like that with the curtains drawn! 😀 However, we did enjoy the atmospheric surroundings. The room had all the necessary toiletries, was cleaned daily, and fresh water and tea were replenished daily. The location is convenient, just 10 minutes from the train station and airport, and within walking distance of major attractions, monuments, mosques, and mausoleums. Registan Square is a 15-minute walk away. Breakfasts were delicious and varied, served on a panoramic terrace on the top floor. We'd like to thank the hotel staff for allowing us to check in early and for their excellent service overall 🙏 Thank you for the warm welcome.
